Daddy has left me...

Quick footsteps resounded through his large home, his large, empty home. He missed his family, he missed his father, he missed those who used to mill about his home but had left since his father had died. That was the life of little Theon Note, that is now it was. He didn’t used to have to deal with the family, the business, the dirt of this town, now he did. The young wolf didn’t like it one bit. He watched out through his large bay window, he needed to do some expanding of his business, he would need to hire someone to make sure that what happened to his father, didn’t happen to him. That is what he should do today. A slow sigh emitted from the now orphaned child, his mother gone as well, died just days after he had been born. This was going to be a long day.

Theon walked from the window, picking up his baja style hoodie, pulling it over his head, his bright green eyes peering out from under the woven cotton hood. He would need to find a bodyguard, and fast, he had already dodged some attempts to take over his family already. Haverhill wasn’t such an innocent town that everyone perceived it to be. A small, slow sigh emitted from him as he peeked out the front door, trying to figure out how he would possibly go about finding a bodyguard.

Jax yawned. He'd just been dropped off at the house he'd been raised in. It was located in Haverhill...on a forgotten side of the town. He was exhausted from the long flights he'd taken to get home after all the years of being absent from his birthplace. The neko sighed as he pulled out a cigarette, placing it between his lips. He lit it and inhaled the deathly smoke, loving the flavor of it as he walked up to the front door. His family was deceased, so no one was home. He found the right key, stared at it a moment with disinterest, then unlocked the old house. When he stepped inside, he wasn't surprised by the thick layer of dust.

He dropped his various suitcases in the empty living room and stared at the mess. Deciding to deal with it at a later date, Jax left the house. He took a few short cuts he remembered from when he was a kid to get into the main part of town. He flicked the extinguished cigarette to the ground, only to quickly replace it. He pulled the baseball cap that hid his ears down, glad his tail was hidden in one of the pantlegs of his jeans. He wandered down the street, pausing to watch a few moving vans enter the town. Well...he sure had been gone a long time...

Shrugging, he went into the local pub, glad it was open at the time. He needed to find work...and knew that Haverhill would have use for a bodyguard for hire like himself. The town harbored a rather intriguing secret...and was the reason he was in his current line of work.

Clearly he was lost, though he didn't see anyone to ask where he was. It seemed like he was in another part of the town that was newly devolved. Paint in hand Hayden continued to walk, hoping that either someone would see him or he'd see someone. After about twenty minuets of walking Hayden gave up. He was tired, bored and hungry, and clearly had no more motivation to continue on. placing his two cans of paint down on the side of the road Hayden sat on top of them. Looking around no one was in sight so he decided to just wait it out.
Blasting his music as loud as it could go, Hayden sat there on the side of the road tapping his foot and bobbing his head along with the beats. He wondered if anyone would even look for him where ever he was, seeing as no one had driven by or anything since he'd gotten himself lost. Shrugging his shoulders he blow it off he figured he'd give it an hour or two than try and find his way back again. Hopefully it wouldn't come to waiting that long, but he didn't really know nor care to think to much on it.

Where would Theon start? Where would you normally find a bodyguard? Bodyguard co & Inc? Yeah right. He pulled his hood up over his head and slowly stepped out of his home, not wanting to be recognized as a new don of the local mafia. He sighed softly; wandering the streets for a bit, trying to think of places that he would be able to go to get what he needed. Money wasn’t a problem; the money that his father had left and his life insurance had left him on the higher end of the spectrum. Then a thought hit him, where do you go to hire thugs? A bar. That is what he thought at least.

His footsteps were quick and quiet as he walked, heading for the local bar. Luckily it wasn’t too far from where he had walked. He pushed the door open slowly, poking his head in first before stepping in fully. He looked around the bar before going up to the tender, whispering something to him, watching him nod and walk off. Theon then sat down at the bar, waiting for someone to come back for him to order a drink, the other tender to put up a listing for a bodyguard.

Hattishon Checker Wonder Hatter

Down the Rabbit Hole

Hattishon stopped from his run from the house, his mind was wondering on where to go. Though he was 18 the "parents" still had him on a leash like he was 12. Not allowed to stay out after 11, grounded when broken a rule, no loud music, taking back more truoble. A long sigh escaped the winded young man, it was soon replaced with a deep breath to fill his lungs again. Having run back into town hatter woundered were he could go, were he could slip away from the people that kept him locked up. Hattison wanted to listen to music or read a book, sure enough he could likely imagin a MP3 player but he didn't want to use up his power on such things.

It was now getting dark out, the sun setting or already was and the moon had yet to show its self. Hattishon was now in a new part of the twon, were the new neighborhoods wewre coming up. New houses, new families, new people to look at like eh was crazy. Knowing he shouldn't be here right now, a person could stop him and talk to him. But what if they to were from the world he was tooken from? That couldn't happen, why would they leave that world in the first place? Another sigh came from his mouth, how lonely could this place be thinking that you were from another world, but he knew he was and he could prove it. If he wished it he could make a flower sing or summon anything he wished, if it didn't take much energy.

Hattsihon, as soon as he got his bearthing back down. started to walk down the sidewalk to another new part of twon. Really he had thought that this place was a small town, but now seeing it, it was way bigger then he thought.

Jax looked around the place. It was nice...and definitely a bit sinister. He'd surely blend in. The neko wandered over to the far end of the bar, back against the wall as he turned so he could see the entire room. He memorized the exits with one glance before ordering a Guinness. When the drink was placed in front of him, Jax tapped the counter a few times. It seemed like he was tapping to the music, but the bartender recognized the signal immediately and nodded. Jax smiled and gave a slight nod. Once the tender was gone he whispered to himself, "Some things never change..." He surveyed the people in the bar again. There weren't many...just a few patrons.

He shrugged to himself, hoping the bartender could help him find work. His gaze moved to the door when another person looked in before entering. Intrigued by the hood that was pulled up as well as the way the guy walked in, Jax watched the young man sit at the other side of the bar. Jax observed the exchange between the young man and the bartender, who promptly walked over to the neko. He sat up a bit, got a nod, and made his casual way over to the opposite end of the bar. He sat one seat away from the young man. Since there were only a few people in the bar, none of which were close enough to over hear, Jax got right to the point, "I hear yer lookin' for a guy like me...hired help." His gaze remained on the bar, not looking at the young man. He knew how mafias worked...and had been hired by several at one point or another.

"Ugh..I completely forgot to stop and get groceries..I'm so hungry.."
Darren pressed a hand against his flat stomach and felt his body argue in response to the lack of food. Apparently the junk food he'd eaten on the way to his new home hadn't been enough. But he'd seen a bar in town..Maybe they could offer up a burger..maybe some fries and a cold beer..Oh..That sounded so incredibly heavenly.

That was it..Another groan of protest from his stomach and he was snatching his keys from his pocket and heading over to his car. He'd seen a few boys passing by..Or running by; so he knew that it wouldn't be absolutely quiet. Teenagers..He was sure that they were going to bring a little fun to this place.

"Food!" Back onto the subject. Darren climbed into his car, turned on some Chopin and headed towards the little towns bar. They'd at least have a hot sandwich..

Figure that he had wasted enough time Hayden got up from his makeshift seat. Picking up his cans of paint he took in a sigh of boredom and protest. He figured that back tracking to the store would help me a bit, and one foot after the other he started going back. Hayden was getting greatly annoyed by all the walking, he could have been in his room painting by now. On top of the fact that he was lost he was hungry and at home was something he just couldn't live without. Just for him his mother went out and bought tuna and salami. He wanted a sandwich so bad, his stomach was screaming it out loud grumbling as he walked.
Finally after a few hours Hayden could see someone. It was an odd looking boy, not very tall and most likely in high school. But that didn't really matter to him seeing as he just wanted a way home. Picking up his pace he approached the boy, "Hey, uh could you help me out. I'm trying to get back to Oak Lane." Waiting for his response Hayden turned off his loud music and pulled his headphones around his neck. Than dropped his paint cans down to the ground, he was getting sick of holding the heavy things.

Looks like he was in luck, right off, someone came over to ask him about his offer. “Hired help… What kind of experience do you have? I don’t need some rookie taking on this job. I don’t need some over eager kid that can’t pay attention to what is going on.” He said, he wanted to make sure that while someone that he did hire, didn’t leave him when he needed him. Theon wanted to weed out the kids that thought they could take care of what was needed. His head didn’t move when he spoke, just staring straight ahead. His drink arrived a few moments later, Mike’s Hard Ice Tea, his favorite. He popped the cap and brought the bottle to his lips, taking a sip, licking his lips softly afterwards.

“How many people have you been hired by and how long? Why aren’t you with them anymore? Yadda yadda yadda. You lie, I will know.” He wanted to sound cold and a little harsh. He didn’t want this to sound like he needed protection from the schoolyard bully. He needed protection from people whom actually wanted to kill him, who wanted his territory. Wolves don’t give up their territory too easily.

Hattishon Checker Wonder Hatter

Down the Rabbit Hole

Hattishon had pulled down his hatt, making him look even shorter then he was. The hat was given to him by someone from where he was from. Waking one morning to see a hat floating above him and when he asked who had given him the hat his "parents" said to him that they wouldn't give their child a hat to wear but they still let him wear the hat that he guessed his father had gave him. But the only question was why? And why didn't he take him back to were he was really from..... Another sigh came from the short boy as he continued to walk down the street, trying to avoid talking to somone.

Hattishon was soon stoped. He had heard footsteps ahead of him but still he kept his head down, not making eye contact with the man that seemed to pick up his pace to catch up with him or something. Judging by the question he asked the man was new to twon. Just what he wanted, to talk to a new comer. Well what was the worst that could happen? "Oak Lane...." Repeted Hatter. He knew where it was, he had to. It was sorta close to his home and if you had to sneak out then you must have to know where you are going. Hattishon jumped slithly at the sound of pait cans droping to the concret sidewalk. "Ya I know were it is-" The yaoung man was intrupted by his own stomach telling him he was hungry. With a sad sigh Hatter looked back the way he came. "I will show you..... And it is always nice to say your name when you ask someone something. I'm Hatter." Hattishon spoke as he truned on a heel to head back the way he came.

Jax couldn't contain a smirk. He set his glass on the bar top and shrugged a shoulder, "Depends on what kind of experience yer lookin' for...I prefer the bodyguard line of work myself..." Jax gave a low laugh and shook his head as he got a cigarette from the pack he had in his back pocket. He lit it and took a long drag on it, "Trust me...I'm no rookie. And I'm most certainly no kid. Depth perception's a bit off...but I can compensate." He took a sip of his Guinness and looked at the bartender as the drink was delivered. The neko took another drag on the cigarette, blowing the smoke away from the guy next to him. He lifted his eyebrows at the questions, "I normally don't divulge that information...but since I'm itchin' to get back to work, I suppose it wouldn't hurt..."

Jax turned to face the guy, "I've been hired by a little over fifty people for varying lengths of time. Anywhere from a few days to a few years. I left their employ for different reasons, mostly because I got bored. Not enough action, restless...blah blah blah... But none of 'em died while I was in their employ." He smirked, "Of course you'll know...I bet yer father taught ya well." He polished off the remaining liquid in his glass and didn't order another. He didn't like it when his reflexes were dulled. Besides, he had to be focused to compensate for his depth perception. The neko rested an elbow on the bar and propped his head up in his palm as he left the cigarette between his lips. He waved the tender over and talked around the cigarette, "I'll have a glass of water...no ice, thanks." He turned back to the guy beside him as the bartender walked away to get his order, "So...what more do ya want to know?"

Hayden wasn't one for first impressions, and that was clear seeing as this young kid must have though him rude. However Hayden really didn't care what other people thought about him, he was going to be him no matter what. Though the boy was going to take him home, so the least he could do was act kindly to him. "Guess you're right. Names Hayden Williams." Lightly smiling at the boy Hayden bent over and grabbed his paint cans, to hint that he was ready to leave.
Hearing the kids stomach grumbling reminded him that he was also hungry. Licking his lips he thought about what was waiting for him at home. "Clearly you're hungry, pay back food?" Though it was an odd way of putting it that was Hayden's way of being kind and giving his thanks. He had no clue if the young boy was even going to take the invitation from a complete stranger.

Hattishon Checker Wonder Hatter

Down the Rabbit Hole

Hattishon heard the man pick up the paint cans that had scared him, dashing any thoughts that the guy would just not follow him. Though he knew he should have never even came to this part of twon, Hatter was not the one to talk or meet new people, he felt that he couldn't trust a lot of people. Hearing the word 'food' the young man's stomach growled again then his mind when back to the parents he had ran out on just when dinner was starting. Hattishon's eyes moved back to the man as he walked. Should he say yes? Well if he didn't then he would have angry parents to go back to. "Sure, why not." Another growl came as he spoke the words to Hyden Willams., a small blush came as well but it soon felt his cheeks.

Hatitshon took a turn, were he had stoped to catch his breath earilier. So they still had a lot to go seeing as how far he had ran. "So.... Your new in town right?" Asked Hatter. Why must he speak to the man that he was leading home? The young man didn't even what new comers to come here...

Having the boy agree to his deal was quite odd to him. It caught him a bit off guard he was never used to that. In the city you'd be a rapist if you went and asked a young stranger to your home for food. Clearly this place was far different from his old home. Hayden kept himself about four steps behind the young boy. He didn't want to scare him or worry him that he was some crazy person.
It was odd when the boy finally spoke, asking him if he was new to town. Hayden wasn't sure but he figured that it was pretty clear that he was. Seeing as for one he was lost and two the boy had never seen him before, it was a pretty small town after all. "Yeah, we just moved in today." He said it pretty nonchalantly, seeing as he thought it was pretty meaningless. Hayden didn't bother asking the same of the boy. It didn't matter to him weather he was or wasn't. Not as long as the boy knew where he was going.
