. . . . .

Once everything was settled with Asher, Noah made his way back inside as well where Annissa was. The two of them continued their conversation as a few of the pack members seemed to make their way to their own rooms, two of them leaving the house on Noah's orders from before the get together. He predicted that Jaiden was upstairs and hearing that Cassandra had gone to change into something more comfortable, Noah felt just a bit more relaxed. This was their reservation, and no one was stupid enough to come to where they were. A house full with a pack of wolves? Who would be that stupid. Jaiden on the other hand was upstairs just fixing his room, or well cleaning a few things off the bed that were laying there for what seemed like years. He was told that Cassandra was going to be sleeping in his room and he'd have to get the sofa. But he already had made his decision he'd sleep outside of the night in his form. That way he was close enough to the house just encase he heard something from the others and could reach Noah while he was sleeping in his human form. But in the middle of trying to figure out where to put all his ripped clothes and random junk in his room, he heard a knock at his door. Turning around to see that Asher had entered, he went back to chugging things into the corner. He listened to what he said, and a small grin was on his lip, he couldn't help but let show. Was he worried about what Jaiden thought of him? "It's not your deal, Asher. It's a stupid thing both Casey and I have. I don't even know why Noah's so stuck up about it either." It didn't even phase him that it was probably because Noah and the rest of them were his family and they were in everything together. It was just that the guys never spoke of this; they weren't so mushy with each other. They were a pack of wolves! What did you expect?

"But just to let you know, your really going to have to keep an eye on her. She's a little sneaky and can slip past you any second if your not paying attention. Trust me, I've known her for awhile. She's a devious." There was a faint smirk on his face as he couldn't help be amused about what Asher was going to be going through this weekend. Maybe he should have warned him before. But then again, he didn't get the chance to. Taking a deep breath as he looked over at his bed and ruffled a bit of his hair, he shrugged. "Clean enough..." And it was. Sure it wasn't all that clean but it was the best he could do right now. "But do me a favor?" Jaiden said as he looked back over at Asher. "Take her skating, I bet she misses the ice. And if you can't skate, well...find a different teacher." Jaiden didn't want to have Cassandra teaching Asher how to skate. Just the image of her helping him and both playing around as friends just annoyed him a bit. "No offense, just well...you know." It was awkward, but he didn't care too much at the moment. He just wanted to speak the truth. And just as he finished, the short female came into the room. Cassandra was dressed in a very big shirt and shorts that seemed to be sliding off her once in awhile and was only held up but the string. "This is your room? It looks like a pig pen. No wonder you always have a problem looking for things. Your carpets barely visible." As if Cassandra was going to be nice to him just yet. Then again, her sarcastic tone never vanished towards him. Jaiden sighed heavily and held back any remark he would usually say and just smiled over at her and then back over at Asher. "Good luck. You'll need it." He whispered with a bit of a laugh as he walked out of the room after messing up Cassandra's hair a bit. She just glared at him but no words came out.

Cassandra however let it go with a sigh and smiled over at Asher. "I heard your coming with us from Noah. Asher right? I'm Casey. Annissa's sister." She was completely herself now. "Sorry about the whole anger thing with Jaiden. He can be a complete jerk sometimes. But I'm sure your all used to it." A smile was on her lips, a smirk wanting to come out but she held it back. "But I'm sure we'll have fun this weekend. I need to loosen up just a bit. Fork's has had me tide up." And with that, it sealed the deal that Asher might just be in over his head. Anyone would be over their head.

And the weekend was good enough in Cassandra's mind. She let Noah and Annissa be alone, she knew if she was here with a certain someone, and yes the one that was currently always on her mind, she would want to be alone as well. She wouldn't like others bothering her, even if they were family. It was hard to find time alone with the person you really loved. They had left Saturday morning, taking Noah's jeep to the place. It took about five hours to get there since it was a good distance away from La Push and Forks itself. But Cassandra had found her comfort and amusement in playing random games with the others. She wanted to get to know Asher more on this trip. She knew she would be seeing more of him and the others if Noah and Jaiden were always going to be around. As they had gotten to the resort, Cassandra was on her way to having her mind free of the stress. She wanted to have a fresh start when she went back to school on Monday. And she wanted to get over her little fit with Jaiden as well. It was all fun though for her. She dragged Asher around about everywhere, but there were also times where she wanted to be alone, mainly at night just to get a clear thought out in her journal. She was alone most of Saturday night until she felt that she needed a bit more company. So she had looked for Asher once again, and to her surprise she had found him pretty quickly. They spent time again, and Cassandra found herself making a new friend that weekend with Asher. Then again, he was the only one since she didn't want to bother the other two. She only saw them once before for dinner.

Then Sunday had arrived, and they planned to leave the place around three in the afternoon. They arrived back at Jaiden and Noah's place around eight thirty at night, and to Cassandra's surprise the place was empty. Noah seemed a little caught off guard with the deal as well as he checked around the house for any sign at all for anyone. Cassandra and Annissa made their way into the living room, Cassandra just falling onto the couch and falling down sideways onto the couch to lay down. Who knew a drive back would be so tiring? It was her first time she had ever driven so far with just friends. She was used to taking a flying application somewhere where it was far and it would only take about three hours or so unless she was going across the country. Annissa on the other hand seemed to just drop down next to the single couch near her, dropping her shoes off in the process as well. "Well, that was a full out trip. I needed to get away from Vivian for a good two days. Afraid to look at my messages with what she might have left." There was a bit of regret in her tone of voice as she had forgotten about her work completely. But that was the point of a vacation was it not? Cassandra just glanced up over at her from the corner of her eyes that were lazily starting to close. She some what felt sorry for her sister for having to deal with a devil boss. That Vivian was viscous, everyone knew it. But Cassandra didn't reply. She was way to tired even though it was still early. She just wanted the weekend to be over so she would be able to go to school and see Edward again. Cassandra had to admit that she was always thinking about him even though she was with others. She wished that she had left on a good note with him. She wanted to know if he still wanted to at least be friends with her. At least talk to her.

"I'm going to check where Noah is." Suddenly came from Annissa again as she seemed slightly worried to why she hadn't heard him hassling around the house anymore. Cassandra was about to join along, but seemed to stuck to the position she was currently in. All she heard was the back door slider opening and a cool breeze coming in. She had forgotten how cold Forks was. A small shiver ran down her spine that made her get up. The least her sister could do was at least close the door when she went out. Getting up from where she was, Cassandra walked lazily over to the open back door, and just froze. Her sister was out a yard or so ahead of her, maybe less, and something, or well, Noah had just...just...changed? "What in the world...?" Was all that came softly out of Cassandra's lips. All she saw next was Annissa slowly getting to her knees to the large creature slowly come towards her. Cassandra's lips started to part open, wanting to scream her sisters name, he legs starting to raise to take a running start to where she was.

EDWARDCULLENAsher let out a breath of relief. At least Jaiden wasn’t angry with him. Things around the pack were rather complicated, and sometimes Asher didn’t totally understand it. He just assumed that it was something he would have to get used to that with time everyone would just click. He stood quietly while he watched the other pick up things in his room. That was one thing that got neglected while the pack was out at night, cleaning their rooms. Asher never cleaned his room much either, he just tried to pass his classes at school and do what it needed from him with the pack. Asher turned to see Casey walk into the room, she was still angry with Jaiden it seemed. Asher only raised his eyebrow a little at her before Jaiden walked out of the room. Maybe Asher could get her to tell him why she was so angry with Jaiden, though maybe not. Asher was never any good at talking with people. He smiled a little at Casey before he turned around and started to walk towards his room. He really needed some good sleep, but he also had to get all of his things together for the trip. He opened the door to his room going through his dresser drawers looking for something to wear. He found everything that he needed and threw it into a small bag before he threw himself onto the bed quickly falling asleep.

EDWARDCULLENAsher woke early the next morning. They had a five hour drive to the place and he still had to make sure he was ready even though he did have all the things he needed. He was going to go talk to Jaiden before he left to tell him that he had nothing to worry about that Asher would look over her and make sure nothing happened, but Asher couldn’t find him anywhere in the house. Either the other was out doing something or he might have slept in his wolf form last night, that might be better than sleeping on that couch anyway, Asher didn’t blame him. He walked back to his room grabbing his bag and going to throw it into the back of Noah’s jeep. He went back into the house to get something to eat for breakfast. He walked into the kitchen and got a big bowl of cereal. He sat at the counter eating while he waited for the others to tell him that it was time to leave. He was rather exited to go somewhere. He had been told last night that they were going to go to some sort of resort. He thought it was nice thought that Noah and Annissa would take Casey with them when they went decided to go somewhere. It might have just been an excuse for Noah to bring another one of the pack so that he could have help looking over her, or just so that Casey wouldn’t be alone at home all weekend even though Asher thought that if she wasn’t so angry at Jaiden the two of them would probably have been together all weekend.

EDWARDCULLENAsher had been with Casey most of the time they were gone, but he did do whatever Noah needed him to do or asked him to do. It was actually very relaxing even thought he did still have to do some sort work. Things weren’t very hard at all, he didn’t have to do very much at all, and when he was supposed to do things it was nothing compared to running around all night in his wolf form looking for vampires or something else that may be a threat to the rest of the reservation. During the weekend he had become somewhat friends with Casey, so he would like to think. He did like the time he spent with her. He could see why Jaiden liked her so much, sure Asher didn’t feel the same way as the other did, but he could see why someone could care for her as much as Jaiden does. There was something about her that drew people in and he could feel it. He was around her when she seemed to want him there, and he left her alone when she had asked to be alone, even though he still kept a watch on her for Jaiden and Annissa, even though Annissa might not know that Asher was actually watching over her sister. Asher knew that if anything happened to Casey then Jaiden and Annissa would be upset which in turn would upset Noah, It was a chain of reactions.

EDWARDCULLENWhen they all got home Asher, and even Noah, seemed to be surprised that the house was totally empty. Had something gone wrong? As Noah went around the house looking for the others Asher went outside and looked around the house for a short moment before he went back into the house to watch over the other two. Why would they have all left without telling them or leaving them a sign, even thought it would have been just as easy to wait for them all to get home and phase to hear what was going on. But it was much less stressful if they had just left a little note. He walked into the living room to see the door open with Annissa already outside and Casey at the door, and Noah standing in the yard in his wolf form. Asher’s eyes widened for a moment. He moved towards Casey without thinking much at all. He wasn’t sure if Noah had seen anyone other than Annissa, but Asher held his hand over her mouth for just a second just to make sure Annissa didn’t know she had seen it as well. Asher wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her back into the house. He shut the door and looked at her before he started to speak. “Sorry. It might be a good idea to leave them alone for a little while. I am guessing they are going to have a lot to talk about.” Asher said as he let go of Casey even though he stood in front of the door so that she couldn’t go back outside to see what had happened. What was he supposed to say to her, she had seen him phase hadn’t she? Asher drew in a deep breath. He could almost hear what Jaiden would say when he found out, if he was in his wolf form he may already know though. Though how was Noah going to take all this. He had kept this secret from Annissa for five years. Asher waited silently for Casey to say something to him.

. . . . .

Cassandra honestly couldn't believe her eyes. And even though she wanted to blink it away in that mere second before she was to take flight, the scene still wouldn't disappear. There was her sister, knelled on the ground, with a large dog that seemed of it in the shadows so close to her. But before Cassandra could even shout something out of her lips, before any form of a sentence or word could come up her throat, her lips found themselves suddenly against a warm surface. The first then that she felt was utter surprise of course. Her eyes widen just a bit as she felt herself now being pulled back into the house, some just as warm as what was over mouth hitting her just a bit from behind. The sudden heat washed away the cold as she saw the screen door shut in front of her, blocking her view of the outside world, and what she had just left her sister with. The fact that someone was actually holding her from doing anything didn't even hit her until she heard a voice soon after. Cassandra looked up, the only direction she could to see the man's face who had stopped her. It was Asher. "Asher!" A muffled voice was all that was heard first before he had let go of her slowly. Cassandra's movements went still however when she took in what he said, and he expression completely changed from anger to utter bewilderment. What in the world was he talking about? Leave the two of them alone out there? Leave her sister alone? As she was slowly let go of, and a gush of room fresh air was hit to her lungs, she just stared at him as if he was the crazy one and not her.

"Are you kidding me? For all I know, Noah, or whatever that is out there." Cassandra said pointing at Asher but actually meaning for the door that was hidden behind him. "Could really hurt Annissa. And the fact that my sister is hard headed and isn't moving is just creeping me out a bit more. That and how your making this seem as if its completely normal. And don't say I didn't see what I saw, because I did see what I just saw, and I know what it was." The last part was sure to probably confuse Asher unless he very much could follow just what Cassandra was saying. Asher probably just thought she was talking jibberish now. But she didn't see it the way he was. She didn't notice what the secret was that they were all hiding together. Cassandra stared at him though. As if she was trying to figure something out but couldn't come to a solid conclusion. All she was worried about at the present time being is that her sister was out there alone. She never predicted that she would act this way, but apparently seeing her sister in danger made an odd emotion irrupt in her that she couldn't control. These emotions were starting to really feel stranger to her. People who she thought would have no effect on her seemed to make her think twice. First Jaiden, then Edward, and now even her sister, the one person she had absolutely nothing in common in at all. Well they actually did, it was just unknown to her at the moment. They were both in love with mythical creatures. Werewolves and Vampires? Who would have ever thought that combination? But since at this time she was slightly close minded about all of this, more so than she thought, Cassandra could only see what anyone else would see. That this was all bizarre and she didn't know what to think.

Cassandra took a deep breath and decided to take action. There was no way she was going to just stand there and so call let Annissa, and whatever Noah was just 'talk.' How did she knew that it wouldn't turn into something horrible? "Asher, I'm not going to sit around and do nothing! And you seem to calm about this all. Are you behind it too? Do you know what is out there?" Cassandra tried to lung herself back to the door, in some attempt to climb over the giant human wall that stood between her and the door. Of course this act was a complete failure and she wasn't sure what made her do what she was. The the attempt of actually trying to get pass Asher, she had hit her right hand against something hard. A painful tingle went through her hand as she couldn't continue anymore. "Crap, are you made of hot rocks or something?!" She hadn't notice that Asher was so...hard? It wasn't hard as in how Edward was, but he was hard enough. His body structure that was. "What do you keep under that shirt a brick wall?" Cassandra winced though again when she tried to move a finger of hers but would just end up getting pain. She had to force herself to back off from her fight and turn on her heel only to hear the front door open. A murmur of voice were to be heard and Cassandra wasn't quickly enough to get back to normal and hide her twitching hand away behind her. Jaiden was the first one to stride over to her out of the three that were with him, all wearing nothing but just a pair of tattered pants. It caught her off guard a bit as she just remembered what she had said to Asher and if he was hiding something under the shirt. Guess she got her answer. Cassandra only glanced over at the new found friend of hers from the weekend curiously. Was he just like the rest of his friends?

"Cass--" Jaiden quickly paused and continued before he realized just what he was about to call Cassandra in the house full of people; Cassandra. "Casey, what the hell did you do with your hand, it's turning bruised." He finished quickly after as he took up Cassandra's right hand and looked at it with concerned. "Ouch, Jay, don't move it around like a snow glob, it still hurts!" Cassandra quickly shut back at Jaiden when she had felt the pain run down her hand again. And automatically Jaiden stopped moving it around so much but still held it in his hands, his very warm hands. Much warmer than she had imagined them to ever be before. Cassandra glanced up over at him to notice that his chest was bear and betting at a high pace as if he was running or something. She hadn't notice before, but Jaiden had very much changed since they were childhood friends. And when she meant very much, she really meant very much. He was built, and not like working out in the gym or anything. It was as if he was some superhero out of comic books that just got back from saving the day type of look. The only thing that made her snap out of it was the sudden movement of Jaiden's free hand coming across Asher's back of the head. She snapped to look over at Asher but didn't wince as much as she thought it would. She wasn't even sure if that hurt him. She wouldn't be surprised if it didn't, yet she would still be stunned at the same time that it didn't. What human could not be harmed? 'Wait, human?' Cassandra looked away from the two male near her and over at the rest of the so called 'friends' who were just staring at the seen. One with an amused look, one with a tired expression, and the other a little apprehensive, or so she thought.

"Are you an idiot? You let her hit you?!" The words came out low, and even though Cassandra could hear a voice talking, it didn't register to what or who was saying that as well as to whom even though it was just Jaiden speaking with Asher still. Jaiden was angry, but not as he was when Asher had left. He was just upset more of it. He wasn't sure if he wanted Cassandra to find out about everything like this. He was sure it would lead to questions back to the past, and he was even more upset that she had physically gotten hurt. He slowly dragged her towards the hallway and examined the hand a bit more. Cassandra on the other hand could still very much see Asher clearly from where she was with Jaiden, and noticed the heads popping out from the side looking over at them. Were the rest of his friends always this curious? She looked away and back over at Jaiden. Her lips opened to say something but was completely cut off by his own voice. "Case, not now, alright? I promise I'll explain everything, but first we just need to wrap this up and let you get some sleep." Cassandra didn't even have the time to reply as she was once again dragged and taken up the stairs. Just as she was leaving view of everyone downstairs, she saw her sister coming in, looking completely fine with Noah's arms wrapped around her as usually, his shirt off as well. Cassandra tried to force herself back down by holding on to the railing but it was no use, Jaiden's grip was strong, and he was over powering her. She gave up within seconds knowing that it was no use and headed up the stairs and once again into Jaiden's room. It was much messier than she had last seen it. She realized just then that Jaiden had cleaned it a bit for her to sleep. A feeling of guilt ran inside her just a bit as she remembered Friday night and all that happened.

EDWARDCULLENAsher wasn’t sure what to say to Casey when she spoke to him. How was he going to tell her that she couldn’t go outside to help her sister when she is faced with a gigantic wolf? And from what Casey had said she saw exactly what it was. Asher drew in a deep breath as he tried to calm her down a little. “Noah loves Annissa, he would never hurt her.” That wasn’t completely true, he would never hurt her on purpose. Though when she continued talking he looked away from her. He wasn’t going to tell her that she didn’t see anything because he knew that she had. And she was spot on by saying that this all was completely normal. But it was completely normal to most of them, theses things happened everyday it's just that no one usually sees them when they actually do phase. And for Annissa and Casey to both see Noah change wasn't a very good thing. For Casey this had been the first time that she had ever been at their house and now she had seen Noah phasing. Annissa was allowed to know, she should know, since Noah had imprinted on her and every time they all phase with Noah they know how much he really loves her. Though Asher still doesn't understand why he never told Annissa about the werewolf thing, wouldn't it make things easier if she knew? But on the other hand Casey wasn’t supposed to know about any of it, no one had imprinted on her. . Yet. Sure now one had broken the rules, but she still knows now, even if she didn’t understand how any of it had happened. He drew in a deep breath. What would Jaiden say? He was probably more opposed to her knowing about it than Annissa would have been.

EDWARDCULLENWhen Casey spoke again Asher didn’t say anything to her. He did know ‘what was out there’ but he couldn’t tell her. When she started to move to try and get passed him he stood still, he wouldn’t let her get by. When she was trying to get passed him, her hand had touched him not hard enough to hurt him, not many things could hit him hard enough to hurt him, but Casey stopped. He looked down at her and his eyebrows furrowed. “Are you okay?” He said after she had asked him if he was made of hot rocks, which kind of confused him a bit. He sighed and looked down at her hand as she was examining it.“Great, now Jaiden is going to kill me.” He whispered under his breath. And speak of the devil who was going to run into the room at this exact moment? None other than Jaiden, along with a couple of other pack members. So they were home now. Maybe they could tell him what was up with them all being gone when they had gotten home. Jaiden had noticed Casey hand as soon as he walked into the room, he was by her side soon looking at her hand moving it around every which way trying to get a good look at it to make sure nothing was really damaged. Then Casey had shouted at him that her hand still hurt. Asher smiled a little at that, not that he was hurting her, it was jus that she had hollered at him. Though his smile let his face when Jaiden had hit him. It hadn’t hurt him, but he moved his hand and rubbed the spot where he had been hit for a moment. “I didn’t know what she was trying to do.” Asher said a little defensively though, not loud enough for Casey to hear him either. If he knew what she was going to do he would have stopped her, he didn’t want her getting hurt either.

EDWARDCULLENEdward had spent most of the weekend looking for any sign of Casey. And just as he thought there was no whisper of where she might be. How could he have given her that cell phone without getting the phone number of it first? That would have saved all of his worries. If he could have just called her to make sure she as okay, that she wasn't hurt at all. He didn't know what he would do if she wasn't at school Monday, or if she was but what if she was hurt like he had expected the wolves to do? He had no idea where she was and Alice still couldn’t see her, both of which worried him. He hated not knowing where she was and if she was okay, he never knew that he could feel this strongly about a single person. Also just the fact that he didn't know where she was or that she was okay threw him into a frenzy or worrying about her. He just wanted Monday morning to come around so that he could at least see her and make sure she was okay, though he knew that he needed to be careful around her now. She knew what he was and he still wasn't completely sure about how she felt about him, about what he was. Also he didn’t need Rosalie to know about it just yet. Edward drew in a deep breath; he had been sitting in the floor of his room looking out at the river that flowed in the back yard. He signed and he pressed his forehead against the glass, which was warm against his cold skin. He had worried about her the whole time ever since that wolf had ran off with her during the dance. Just to make things worse he heard the sound of Rosalie’s obnoxious thoughts running through his mind. So now she was home and he hadn't had a chance to remind all the others once again not to let on to Rosalie that Casey might now about them. Esme had been pushing for him to talk to Casey—once he knew where she was—and get her to come over to the house, but to make that happen he would have to let Rosalie know that Casey knew, which didn’t help anything. The whole weekend that he wasn’t running around looking for her and having no luck at it he was continuously telling the others not to mention anything about it to Rosalie. It wouldn’t help them at all if she knew, she would only want to do something stupid and irrational. None of her ideas would make Edward the least bit happy, and just hearing her thinking them would be enough to get him to do something that he might regret.

EDWARDCULLENStanding up Edward walked over to his closet getting dressed in a white button up shirt and a pair of light colored khaki pants. He turned the stereo off, it wasn't like he had been listening to it in the fist place, he had been too preoccupied all weekend with things evolving Casey. He grabbed his bag and his jacket and he started to walk out the floor, then something caught his eyes. The mask that Casey had been wearing at the dance Friday night was sitting on a small table next to his couch. He had almost forgot about how she had left her mask at the dance, she must want it back she seemed to be entranced with it while they were talking to each other at the dance. He sighed and picked up the mask putting it into his bag before he walked out of his room down towards the garage. While he was walking towards the garage both Jasper and Alice met with him, Rosalie and Emmett were already out in the car. Esme gave him a smile as he walked out the door. 'I hope everything works out, Edward. Edward gave her a small smile just before he opened the door and walked outside. He just hoped that Casey would be at school, there was no saying where she was, the last time she was with the wolves she skipped school. Edward tried not to seem to worried or show much of his emotions at all around Rosalie. She was watching him to make sure nothing had changed while she was gone, which everything had changed, but she didn’t know that and Edward didn’t want her to know that. They all got in the car and Edward started to drive off towards the school. The first thing he would do when he got there as look for Casey’s car. Though his family usually got to school before she did anyway, so that wasn’t much help at all. Also he couldn’t stay and wait for her to get to school or Rosalie would more than likely say something. He pulled into the parking lot and just like he had expected he didn't see Casey's white SUV anywhere. He thought she would be at school, why would she not, but he still wanted to see her before Biology. He had already desired that he wasn't going to sit with her at lunch today, it was too risky she might say something. And if he didn't sit with her Rosalie might come to conclusions that something might have happened between the two.

EDWARDCULLENEdward went through the whole day just waiting for lunch to roll around. He just wanted to be closer to Casey, to be able to smell her scent and hear her heart beating for the first time in days. Even though it was only a couple of days, it felt like so long to Edward. It was evidence of what he already knew. Time seemed to pass much to fast when the two were together and he felt he was wasting time with her, and when they were apart time seemed to move much to slow and he felt like he was wasting time because he had only so much time to spend with her and when he was away he felt so odd. When the bell finally rang signaling that lunch was about to start. Edward grabbed up his books and made his way towards the lunch room. He walked quickly through the big group of students trying to get to the lunch room. He went through the line and got his lunch, which again he wouldn’t eat, though this time he wouldn’t be sitting with Casey so she wouldn’t eat it. He as the first one to sit down at the table, the others were still either in the line or trying to get to the lunch room. Edward sat in his old seat, with his back turned to the table that Casey used to sit at before he had started to sit with her. He picked at his lunch with a disgusted look on his face. Rosalie was the first person to walk over to the table. She had a huge smile on her face. Edward looked up at her as she sat down across from him at the table. “What happened? Why aren’t you sitting with your human girlfriend anymore?” Rosalie said with a laugh as Emmett came over to sit down next to her. He didn’t know what was going on exactly but he had caught on that Edward was sitting with them again to hide something from Rosalie. Emmett just raised an eyebrow at him for a moment ‘What’s up? You are hiding something for Rosalie, right.” Edward didn’t say anything to either Rosalie or Emmett, but he did make a gesture just a small one towards Emmett that he was trying to hide something from Rosalie. Soon after both Jasper and Alice had come to sit down at the table, Jasper sat next to Rosalie and Alice sat next to Edward. She had already knew what Edward was going to do, she just didn’t see why exactly he thought he had to stay away from Casey around Rosalie to keep the secret from her.

. . . . .

Cassandra wasn't even sure what happened the night before. All she remembered was being utterly confused about something and not getting any answers from anyone. She combed her hair in the overly large mirror that hung in front of her in the boy's bath room, and sighed annoyingly. People not answering her questions was starting to get quiet annoying and she wasn't sure how long she would be able to stand it before she cracked even more so than she had already with Jaiden. Placing the comb down on the sink but still keeping a grip at it, she looked down at the sink just wanting to rinse away all the doubts, thoughts, and fears she had running on her face. But she knew it was absolutely not use, she was already to far in, and a part of her wanted to just learn more. More about everything and anything that was around her. Cassandra peeked out the door just a bit from the angle that it was open and saw one of the others going down the stairs, a swift of whatever was breakfast coming down towards her. Looking back over at the mirror, she took a hair tie and placed her hair up in a pony tale. Since she had slept over at Jaiden's and Noah's place, she hadn't gotten the time to actually look nice for school, so she settled for decent. Letting her finger out of the last loop, Cassandra moved towards the mirror once again and started to fix her bands. She shifted them to the side over her eyes even though they covered just a part of them as always. She then fixed the other side of her bangs near the right. Sighing once again as she pulled away from the mirror, she made her way out of the bathroom and back into Jaiden's room where she had fallen asleep last night.

She had to pause for a moment to realize that she had just spent a night in bed with Jaiden. Not the way one though, because the two had fallen asleep on the same bed talking about her weekend. And Jaiden was gone this morning, Noah saying that he went to go get milk or something before everyone woke up. But he was back soon enough because she had ran into him coming up the stairs when she was heading for the shower. Surprisingly to her, he had apologized for not being there in the morning when she woke up, and Cassandra didn't really know how to respond to that. Forgetting about it, Cassandra walked over towards the bed where half her cloths still were. She switched out of the sweat pants she was wearing to wear a pair of dark washed skinny jeans that were long from the bottom, and placed a plated black and white long sleeve shirt over her, or well she should say Jaiden's neighbors black beater. Actually, all she was wearing was the strange woman's clothing. The jeans, the black beater, and the plated boy friend like shirt. It was slightly big for her, but not completely where she would look like she was wearing guys clothing or something. Cassandra didn't mind. It was nice enough for the woman to lend her comfortable clothing since Annissa's extra pair of clothing at the house really wasn't what she wanted to be found wearing at school. After all, they were her work cloths. Cassandra didn't bother to button down the shirt as it just hung on her down to her waste and flew slightly behind her when she made her way down the stairs. As she came to the kitchen, she was greeted but the rest of the gang that were there, Jaiden already taking out eggs and bacon for as breakfast. She honestly had to admit, this was probably the first time in a long time she had actually eating a good breakfast before school.

"What are you still doing here, Casey?!" A voice suddenly broke out as Annissa came into the kitchen, looking at her sister in utter surprise. Cassandra however was slightly confused but the thought broke into her a second later. "Crap, what time is it?!" The time had completely passed Cassandra by as she was speaking with the other and Jaiden. Jaiden looked over at his watch, making a face and noticing that Cassandra was already late going to school. "Come on, I'll take you to school, its out of your sisters way." Jaiden said as he stood up and stuffed a large piece scrambled food into his mouth. Cassandra tried to do the same, but she was too small so decided to just stuff her mouth with small enough pieces before running off behind Jaiden and waving everyone off, thanking them with a mouth full of stuff. They probably thought she was weird, but what else was new? When she came outside however, she wasn't greeted by Jaiden in a car, but a motorcycle instead. A run of excitement came over her. "Can I drive?" Cassandra said once her mouth was clean of any substance. Jaiden looked over at her with a look of wanting to laugh. "You must be kidding me. This is my baby. Now get on, your late enough. Even though I wouldn't mind..." Jaiden started to fade off towards the end as he looked away from Cassandra and towards the direction he would be going for the school. He knew who was there. And he knew that there was going to be some contact between the two of them. He had caught onto Edward's scent during the weekend and was sure he was lurking around somewhere for Cassandra. Jaiden was glad that she had gone for the weekend. Two days away from harm. He knew that wolves themselves could be dangerous, but vampires were a different story. And Jaiden had every control over his own emotions, it was the one thing that both Noah and himself had. Noah probably had more patients with people however. Because how he could put up with any vampire was beyond him. The only thing that knocked him out of his thoughts was Cassandra's arms coming around him, causing him to look back to see she actually wore her helmet. He wanted to laugh seeing how big it was on her, but held it back to stop another argument that might just come out of it. "Hold on...I'm sure your sister wouldn't like me going so fast." So he actually meant to go slow off the road before they were actually out of sight to go normal speed, or well maybe a bit above.

Cassandra was loving the ride over to school. The cool air was canceled out by the radiating heat that was coming towards her from Jaiden. She held onto him tight during the turns, but realized that the school had came into view quicker than she had expected, even with the speed that Jaiden was going. He came to a halt near the doors of the main entrance. Everyone was inside already, but the bell hadn't just rung yet. Slipping off the bike, she took the helmet off and handed it over to him. "You know, you should really be wearing one of these as well." Jaiden just grinned with a sly remark back, "Just worry about yourself, not me. And here, you'll be cold in just that. And I'll come pick you back up after school." Cassandra was handed Jaiden's jacket. It was large, leather, and over warn, completely different than how Edward's jacket had felt. It wasn't that Edward's was bad or anything, it just reminded her the longing that she had to see him again. She smiled weakly over at Jaiden, thanking him before she headed off inside of the building. She looked back only once to see Jaiden was still there, firm in his place. For the first time, it was he who brought shivers down her. The thought escaped her quickly however when she came to her locker and placed the jacket away, taking out her books for the first block of the day. English, History, Pre-calculus, and Art were all going to be a complete drag. Only because she wasn't sure if she knew if Edward was in school, and because it would take that long to actually see him during lunch. That and she was sure to get bombarded by Jessica and Angela about the dance. As English and History passed by without many of her friends, Cassandra was actually able to concentrate in class. And seeing how she really needed to in history, it gave her a good idea where she was in that class. Completely down on the list. A small sigh came across her lips though when she heard Jessica coming from behind. "Hey Jess." She said with a small smile as Jessica looked at her in wanting to know information. Cassandra looked at her a little confused as they were entering their math class. "You have to tell me the details, Casey! Who was that guy you were with at the dance? I would have never recognized you if you didn't have your mask on. And then I swore I think I saw Edward with you as well. You have to tell me everything, I'm dying to know!"

"I'm sure Angela is too." Cassandra said with a small laugh as she knew this was all coming. "He's an old friend of mine back from childhood in California. He's actually my best guy friend." Cassandra said with a small smile thinking of just how much Jaiden did mean to her. As a friend of course. "Really? That tall, muscle looking guy? And he was the same one that dropped you off too right? God, Casey, seriously, were do you get the luck to talk to people like that? First Edward Cullen and now him." Jessica went on and Cassandra couldn't do much but give a weak smile and answer some of the questions that Jessica wanted answered. And it was the same the next period after in Art with Angela. She wanted to know the same, in much more detail, and Cassandra was sure she was trying to come up with some conclusion with all of this already, as if she was solving some sort of math problem. Cassandra shook her head however, telling Angela that Jaiden and her were just friends, and only that. She couldn't really see the other as anything more, it just seemed not to be there for her. But as they had finished their art project and handed it in, the two girls made their way to lunch, and Cassandra got an anxious feeling of finally being able to see Edward again. She wanted to know just what he was thinking about everything, or if he wanted to forget the whole thing as if it had never happened. "Casey, I didn't notice until now because your shirt was covering it most of the time, but what the heck did you do to your hand? Why is it all bandaged up like that?" Angela sounded worried, and Cassandra glanced over towards her friend first before looking down at her hand. She had completely forgotten that that was there. It didn't hurt anymore, or at least it seemed to be fine with her since she hadn't moved it around much and wasn't writing anything today. Everything just seemed to be listening work today in classes. "Oh you know me. Just doing stupid things to pass the time by. But don't worry about it, its really nothing at all. The pains not even there anymore." Cassandra knew she could tell Angela what happened, what really happened. As if 'yeah I hit a man and ended up hurting myself.' How crazy would that sound?

But Angela didn't seem to take that all as an answer. Hopefully it would pass by once she made a few jokes with the other guys. "Come on, Ang." Cassandra said linking her arms in hers as they both came to lunch. Coming through the doors, Cassandra looked over to her left but saw the table was completely empty. Her heart started to sink just a bit, but completely took the dive when she saw Edward sitting with his family. "Something wrong, Casey?" Angela's voice rang through her head, but she didn't look over at her just yet. "No," was all that came out of her lips as she looked over at Angela with her usual smile and headed towards where her friends were sitting, seeing Mike's and Eric's face light up for some reason. Cassandra just had to honestly smile at that. She did miss her friends during lunch, she had to admit it. The conversation started about her hand automatically as she took a seat at the table. "I'm just that extreme, Mike, what can I say?" Cassandra said jokely and the others laughed with her. She had forgotten just how nice it was to laugh with her friends. But part of her was sill pulling to look back at Edward. To go talk to him, to go say something about all that had happened. But then the idea of him not wanting any of that made her heart just weigh her down, weigh her true smile down. It was only five minutes after she had take a seat that she got up back again with Eric to get some food. She had almost gotten used to eating out of Edward's plate, but seeing how that might just never happen again, she had to get back into the routine of how it was before Edward even noticed her.

The thought was really draining her. She really never thought that Edward would actually just stop talking to her like that. The whole lunch period Cassandra tried her hardest to not look over at their table, but it was harder than she thought. Whenever her friends weren't paying attention to her, she'd have to get a quickly glance back over at Edward's back. But every time she did, she regretted it. The pain would just stab her again at her heat. Keeping up the appearance that everything was alright with her friends was even harder than she though, and she was sure that Angela probably didn't buy any of it because of the looks she was getting from her. She was always the most observant out all her friends. But the period was starting to come to an end and all of her friends seemed to get up all together, and she didn't have much of a choice besides to follow along with them outside of the cafeteria and out into the hall were the other students were chatting around and slowly heading to their classes. Cassandra held a short conversation with a few of them that knew her or wanted to say something to her before she would return back with her pack of friends. However just as her friends were splitting up, and she was left to got to Biology with Eric and Mike, Mr. Banner caught her and told her to come up to the desk. He had asked her to go to the principles office since some paper work was mixed up and it needed to be fixed. Cassandra really couldn't believe her luck and just glanced at Eric and Mike who looked just as disappointed.

ooc || I hope you have enough to respond to. I kinda wanted Cassandra to miss out on Biology, but not leave until Edward had gotten there. But she was going to come back, however I was thinking that Edward was partnered up with Mike and then when Cassandra got back, she'd be with Eric on this lab. xD Only if your up to it. You can have Mr. Banner pair them up or something if you need more to write. xD

EDWARDCULLENEdward sat at the table with the rest of his family trying his best to ignore them all. Emmett, Rosalie, and Jasper were all asking him questions; some of them asked the questions mentally—Jasper and Emmet—while the other, Rosalie, decided that she would rather just outright ask them. Probably to either get attention or draw attention to whatever it was that the she was pointing out about either Edward or Casey. Edward couldn’t totally ignore here. There was no way he could do that her voice was so familiar to him, she was the second person other than Esme to join her family and Edward had listened to her voice, both her real voice and her mental ‘voice’, for so long that it was something that was hard to completely block it out. It was like that for the rest of his family as well, he had heard them so many times that he as accustomed to hearing them, so it was harder to ignore them when they were speaking and it was much harder to try to ignore their thoughts, even though he did most of the time to help them keep their privacy. It was none of his business really what went on in any of their minds, though sometimes he couldn’t help but listen. Rosalie was always either thinking about herself or thinking about how much Edward has screwed up lately as well as how idiotic she thought Casey was for continuing to try and—as Rosalie thought of it—pursue Edward. The only thing that Rosalie had started to draw conclusions about was that something had happened over the weekend, thought it wasn’t something that had brought the two closer together it was something that threatened to pull them apart, though Rosalie suspected. Though the truth was that something did happened that could tear them apart, but from what Edward knew at the moment everything was okay, even though what had truly happened could have torn them apart rather quickly. Friday night Casey hadn’t been all that against what he was, she didn’t see to have a problem with it. She still touched him—and more than that allowed Edward to touch her—even after she did know that he was a monster. He just didn’t understand how she didn’t seem to have a problem with it. Edward felt guilty that he wasn’t sitting with Casey, what he knew that they needed to talk about, to get it over with; they couldn’t even begin to talk about it in Biology. Mr. Banner would say something about it and they would get into trouble, especially since they had skipped his class Friday. Edward wouldn’t be surprised if he already knew, most teachers didn’t keep things to themselves and after they had been caught he was sure she would have told Mr. Banner.

EDWARDCULLENAs soon as Casey had walked into the lunchroom Edward would have known that she was in there, even if a soft wind hadn’t blown her scent over towards him or if he hadn’t hear Angela Weber’s thoughts about Casey. The sound of her heart was all it took for Edward to know she was in the room. He should go and talk to her, what if she thought he was angry with her. Though he knew he couldn’t risk Rosalie finding out about what had happened over the weekend. Rosalie had noticed a change in Edward’s expression and she raised an eyebrow at him. “Look, Edward’s human is here. I almost expected her not to be at school since he wasn’t over on the other side of the room waiting for her.” Rosalie said in a snippy voice and Emmett was the only one who had paid her any attention when she had spoken. He only whispered something to her about calming down a little. Edward was to busy looking at Casey though the eyes of others. Every once in a while he would get tired of a certain person’s thoughts so he would switch to a different person. He lingered on Angela Weber though, he liked her thoughts, none of them were harsh and mean and she seemed to see things much clearer than the other humans around, so for a while he stuck with Angela’s mind. Sure Edward could just turn around and look at her, but Rosalie would notice, she was currently watching him like a half. He tried to seem uninterested, he looked around the room idly, then he would mess with a roll that was sitting on his tray and then he would look out the windows at the rain. Though most of his attention was on Casey. After a moment someone around had asked about her hand. Her hand? Then a rush of anger ran through him. He didn’t allow it to show on his face, but Jasper had caught it and looked over at him confused and Edward just ignored him. He knew that exact thing would happen if he had let Casey run off with that dog. She had hurt her hand and he was sure that the wolf had something to do with it. They warn him to be careful around humans, though they can just hurt her like that and Edward would be forced to give no retribution for it? How could he even being to think that someone could hurt her just the smallest bit and get away with it?

EDWARDCULLENEdward still sat at the lunch table, not allowing himself to get up to walk over to Casey and ask her how she had really hurt her hand. He sat with his hands on his knees balled up into tight fists. Jasper was still confused about Edward’s sudden rush of anger, which still hadn’t died down. He thought that Rosalie must be thinking something that had pissed Edward off, though Jasper knew that Rosalie would have said it out loud so that the rest of the family could hear her call him out. Edward sighed, he was having the hardest time forcing himself not to get up and go over to her. He had gotten so accustomed to sitting with her at lunch and being able to talk to her, but now they wouldn’t really be able to talk at all since they would be in biology together and Edward had heard Mr. Banner thinking about some lab that they were supposed to during class today, something that Edward really wasn’t looking forward to doing. At least if they talked quietly they may not be able to be heard. The time seemed to tick away very slowly. Even though Edward knew he was in the presence with Casey he still wasn’t actually talking to her, so he still felt like he was wasting time, though time wasn’t going by very quickly as it usually did when he was around her. After a while of still sitting there in anger, Edward guessed that Jasper was getting tired of his angry emotions and Edward felt a wave of calmness go through him. He wasn’t paying much attention to Jasper’s thought at that moment and when he did start listening it was nothing about him, so Edward had missed it. It felt like ages before Alice grabbed her tray and stood up. “Let’s go to class, Jasper.” Alice started to walk with Jasper towards the door and Edward stood up as well as he made walked towards the door. He only looked at Casey once before he left the cafeteria and walked towards the biology room.

EDWARDCULLENEdward opened the door and walked into the Biology room. He was one of the first people in the room as usual. Mr. Banner wasn’t very happy with Edward. He knew that Edward had skipped class yesterday, and that he had skipped class with Casey, though Mr. Banner blamed the whole thing on Edward so he wasn't going to say anything to Casey. Edward just wondered what 'punishment' he would give him. Probably to write some essay on dominant and recessive genes since that is what they were talking about in Class. But Edward started to ignore Mr. Banner and he walked over to his seat in the back of the room to wait for Casey to come to class. He had to say something to her, even if it wasn’t asking her how exactly she had hurt her hand. It seemed like forever before Casey walked through the door. When she finally did walk through the door Edward didn’t take his eyes off the other. This was the closest he had been to her since the dance. Yet Mr. Banner had called her over to his desk and she had to go to the office. Great. Why couldn’t they have done that earlier in the day, or maybe the last class? Why did they have to decide to do these kinds of things during the only class that he had with Casey? Edward sighed as he watched Casey turn around and walk out the door. Edward looked away from the door and over to the table top in font of him. Well it seemed that at the moment things couldn’t get any worse than they are already. Mr. Banner stood up as the bell rand and looked around the classroom and he began taking roll.

EDWARDCULLENAfter Mr. Banner finished taking roll he got up in front of the class and started to explain the class work that they were going to be doing today. Edward didn’t listen to him much, thought he still knew what he was supposed to do. He took a pen out of his bag and waited for Mf. Banner to walk by his table dropping off the peace of paper they were going to work from. But something in Mr. Banner’s thoughts made him look up at the man, who was staring directly at him. ‘It’s about time Mr. Newton got a good grade on something, and extra work wouldn’t be true punishment for Mr. Cullen.’ Edward almost sighed when he heard that. He was going to have to work with Mike. When Mr. Banner walked over to Mike’s table Edward saw him lean down a bit to whisper something, though Edward could hear it clearly. “Ms. Martin isn’t going to be in class today, why don’t you get up and go work with Mr. Cullen.” Edward heard Mike sigh and get up and walk over to Casey’s seat with his things. Edward didn’t look at the boy as he walked over, maybe it would be best if he just didn’t say anything to the other. Mr. Banner walked by informing him that Mike would be working with him and then he gave them the paper and walked away. After a short moment of silence Mike grabbed the paper and started to look at it reading things. “Okay, if white hair is recessive in hamsters and black hair is dominant then what is the probability of an offerings phenotype being white haired if the parents are two heterozygous black hamsters?” Edward didn’t say anything though the answer was clear to him as soon as he had glanced at the paper. Mike sat there and thought over it for a moment before Edward saw him turn towards him and say “There is no way, it’s impossible.” Edward sighed and looked down at the paper again. “No there is a one our of four chance, or 25 percent chance that the phenotype could be white hair.” Edward said without much through before he heard Mike sighed and went back over everything in his him. He had gotten heterozygous and homozygous mixed up. “That cannot be right.” Mike was started to doubt Edward’s intelligence and Edward just wanted to laugh. “Just do the Punnett Square and you will see that your answer ‘cannot be right’’ Edward said as he looked down at the paper and was about to write down the answer. “Wait, you do the Punnett Square right now and show me. How am I sure that you aren’t wrong?” Edward turned and looked at the other for a long moment, he almost growled at the boy, he was really starting to make Edward mad. He already didn’t like the boy that much and now he was acting an idiot, if Edward hadn’t said that his answer was wrong he would try to back it up so much, if any other person would have told him he was wrong he wouldn’t have said anything and he would have taken the other person’s answer and Edward was sure of it. Because of Mike’s thoughts at the moment Edward knew that he wasn’t sure of his own answer even though he was sitting there talking like he was one hundred percent sure it was the right answer. “Why don’t you do it, so I can tell you what you are doing wrong.”

. . . . .

Cassandra really couldn't believe the luck that she was having today. Better yet, just this week in general. Everything since Friday night completely sucked in her mind. It was as if someone was out there to get her for some sick amusement for themselves. Of course the fact that someone being there doing such a thing was impossible for anyone else to think, but for someone like Cassandra who had just witness a bit to much for herself to handle over the week, anything is possible. And when she meant anything, she literally meant anything. So the bad luck that was running next to her right now wasn't as much as a big surprise as something else might have been. She'd just have to out race it, that was all. The fact that she was getting this bad luck was really starting to make her think that maybe Edward was right and her luck was indeed that bad. But he saw it in a difference sense that she herself did. Speaking of which, Cassandra looked back over her shoulder at where her seat was empty next to Edward. She caught his glance finally. But for some reason she couldn't bring herself to smile as she usually did, so she did her best and gave a weak smile, waving a small paper that she held in her hand at him. Cassandra knew that he would know what it was. She wasn't staying in class, and as much as she wanted to and wanted to speak with Edward, it was going to be impossible for the time being. Sighing heavily, she looked over at Mike and Eric who were speaking to Mr. Banner about why Cassandra had to leave during this period and how she had already missed Friday's class. She winced when she heard it though and saw a knowing look from her teacher. All she could do was keep that weak smile at bay.

But she had told the staff that she was getting things ready for the dance, and that Edward was just helping her out. Hadn't the message gotten to their biology teacher? Then again, she wouldn't be so surprised if it hadn't. "Eric, Mike, it's fine. It's probably not going to take that long anyway. I'll be back before the end of class." Cassandra wasn't sure if she was or not, but she had to make the other two stop talking about Friday's class so Mr. Banner could start his class and she could get out of the awkward situation quickly. And just as Mr. Banner was turning around to write something on the board, Cassandra saw that as an opening and left the class room after one last glance over at her friends, and then Edward in the distance. She hated to leave. And honestly, for the first time ever, she felt a bit of that hatred towards whatever reason the principle had for her to leave class like so. Sighing as she left the classroom and walked down the hall, she peeked in a few of the classrooms to see if she could catch a glimpse of Alice in any of them. Unfortunately as the line was getting smaller, the pixie girl wasn't in any of them. She did however see Jasper in one of them. But she was sure if she waved over at him, he'd think she was crazy. Cassandra hadn't officially met Jasper yet, or any of Edward's family in the matter besides Alice. Thinking about this, she wondered just how Edward's adopted family came to be. He hadn't said anything much about it at all. How they had formed that was. Maybe when they had the chance to talk more, Cassandra would be able to ask a few more curious questions. Sighing a bit as she came to a turn and noticed the office on her left, she didn't take the time to pause as she opened it and walked in, feeling like she did the first day she arrived here. Dreading to get out of the office already.

To her surprise however, she was called in pretty quickly to the secretary. All she wanted for Cassandra to do was sign some papers dealing with her health insurance and her hospital visit some weeks ago. The papers only made her remember the image all over again in her head, and a slight twitch of her heart came again thinking that Edward had gotten hurt saving her life. And then as the woman was talking, all she could think about was what Edward was doing alone in class. It had already been twenty minutes since she had gone, and she predicted that it wouldn't take that much longer. It only made the time seem to go by slower in the office. "And your sister called this morning asking me to tell you that you have a doctors appointment right after school." Cassandra's attention was quickly averted back to the woman in front of her who was on the phone, talking to someone else now. 'Are you kidding me? The last thing I want to do is go to a hospital. What if I run into Carlisle? What if he's the one --' Thoughts filled her head and she couldn't even understand what the woman was saying to her again. Cassandra just faintly smiled as she signed the last piece of paper and was free to go. It took her a second late to actually get up and head out the door again. Did her sister really have to make an appointment? And what for? Her hand? It was completely fine now! She wasn't even sure why she had the band on right now still. Her thoughts wouldn't stop as Cassandra looked down at it in distaste. How could she have been so stupid to get herself hurt like that in the first place? Shaking her head, in belief that she didn't want to think about it, Cassandra made her way quickly back to Mr. Banner's class. She had never been in such a rush to get back to his class in her life, and she wasn't even sure if it was possible to do so.

But she was finally able to come to the class room, her heart just racing a bit faster than it usually would have. For the fact it being that she walked here quiet quickly, or for the fact that she was coming here so fast to see Edward. Just the idea of him still made her heart race even though all that had happened between in that one day seemed to tear them about just slightly. It could have done worse, but Cassandra was at least determined to be friends with Edward. When she came through the door however, she was surprised to see that Mike Newton was working with Edward. Eric called her from the side and looked over, walking over towards him curiously. "Mike's working with Edward?" Cassandra wanted to laugh just a bit, but held it back with just a large smile that seemed to want to come out for a long time. "Yeah, Mr. Banner said he needed the grade, haha." Eric laughed and Cassandra tried her hardest not to. She looked over at lab that they were working on and noticed that Eric wasn't doing that great either. "You know, I think you might just be next to be working with him." Cassandra said looking down the paper. "What?!" Eric was in surprise as she said this but she waved it off. "Let me go check if these are right, and if they need help over there." 'Because Edward seems like he's going to want to rip apart Mike's head to see just how much IQ the guy has.' Cassandra finished off the rest in her thoughts as she looked over at Mr. Banner to see he was busy with another table. Cassandra walked over toward her table and leaned over just a bit right in front of Edward, and beside Mike on the opposite side. "Hey." It was mostly directed at Edward as she looked over at him from the closeness before she looked over at Mike with a small grin. Her face was only about a foot and half away it seem from Edward's but it hadn't occurred to her just yet of how close they really were. She just seemed to move into that position as she held the paper in her hands. She took the pen that Mike had in his hand and started to write something on his paper, crossing out a few things and adding the correct answer. "You should have your faith more in Edward's answers or at least listen to him. He knows what he's doing." There was a faint grin on her lips but she held it back as she then looked down at Eric's paper in her hands.

But just as she was about to fix a few things, Jason came up behind her, startling her just a bit. "Hey Casey." He said simple as he glanced over at Edward quickly and then Mike with a grin. "Jason, you shouldn't sneak up on people like that. What if I ended up chocking on something? You'd be responsible for it." A grin was on Cassandra's lips as she joked. However, she really did wish that Jason hadn't come up to their table. She just wanted to have a word with Edward, maybe have Mike leave just for a few minutes so they could talk, but that didn't seem like it was going to be happening anytime soon now. He laughed a bit weakly as well before he leaned across the table as well just the way Cassandra was right next to her. Mike on one side, Jason on the other, and then Edward in front. This really wasn't how she wanted things to turn out at all. She glanced over at Edward with a weak smile before looking down at the paper in front of her. Thankfully she had that to look down into. But she couldn't even get past the first sentence when she heard Jason speaking again. "Casey, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go to the movies, Friday? There's a new horror movie coming out about zombies and stuff --" Cassandra just held back a laugh as she looked over at him and grinned. "And you were hopping I'd get scared enough to duck my eyes into you?" All she heard was Mike laugh like a lion, which had caught Tyler's attention from behind and looked over at them. Jason gaped open his mouth but quickly shook it off. However before he could answer, Tyler was up in their business as well. Cassandra made a quick expression of just faint annoyance that her friends seemed to bother her the one time she wanted to be alone. And this wasn't what she wanted in front of Edward either. In private it was something completely different, because it had happened. The paper crinkled just a bit in her hand but she eased up as she looked over at Tyler who was arguing with Jason about how something wasn't fair. She looked over at them in disbelief.

"I can't believe you guys." Cassandra said as she finally stood up straight, placing a hand on her hip surprisingly. She took a deep breath and stared at them hard. Mike on the other hand just completely got quiet and she could feel someone else watching from in front of the room. She figured that it was probably Eric. This was why she rather not have so many guy friends. "You know what. To settle your differences, how about you race on it? Mr. Zimmerman said that we'd be running outside on the tracks if it stopped raining, and seeing how it did, we probably are. Winner gets what they want." Cassandra wasn't sure what she had just said, but it had made the two boys shut up about it all. They stared at her first and then over at each other in silence. "Deal." Came from the both of them before they headed off to their own table before they would cause anymore attention to be sent over towards them. Cassandra watched them leave without a smile on her lips but just pure annoyance. She sighed a bit and let it go as she looked over at the two that she was talking to before anything happened; Mike and Edward. "Sorry." It was more directed over towards Edward than Mike.

EDWARDCULLENSoon after the two had started working together Edward was ready for the bell to ring, even if he didn’t get a chance to see Casey. He really did wish to see her, though he wasn’t sure when she would be back and he was too busy arguing with Mike to look for her though the thoughts of the other teachers. Edward sighed and he started to write down an answer on both the paper he and Mike shared. He heard Mike’s thoughts, he yet again thought Edward’s answer was wrong and he opened his mouth to argue with him yet again but Edward’s head snapped up and looked over at Mike. “Don’t even start. If you don’t like my answers you can go to a different group and work with them.” Edward said before he looked back down at the paper writing down an answer. He heard Mike’s thoughts waver, most of them went along the lines of actually needing a good grade in this class, and he wasn’t really sure if Edward was write or wrong, but he did know that Edward—and the rest of his family for that matter—faired well in school, actually very well. Having Mike quiet down calmed Edward a bit just enough to hear the sound of Casey coming back up the hall. Well now he won’t even get to talk to him because he was forced to be in a group with Mike who argued with almost every decision Edward had made—or every question Edward answered. If Mike could he would argue with Edward about how to spell his own name. Their paper was halfway done, it would have been much further off then that if Mike hadn’t taken so much time in arguing with Edward, and for some reason Edward just allowed the other to argue with him not letting the argument cease. If Edward had been working with Casey they would have had the paper done in ten minutes, and it wouldn’t have just been Edward getting all of the right answers, Casey was very intelligent even if she might not give herself credit for it. Edward drew in a deep breath and he looked up to see the door open and Casey walked into the room. Though when Eric called her over Edward looked back at Mike, who was also starring at Casey. Edward had never really noticed how all the thoughts of the males in the room had erupted all thinking about Casey. He guessed that he had never noticed it because he had been too wrapped up in his own thoughts of Casey—as well as her words, eyes, and ever face for that matter. She was the only things that could hold his whole attention at one time. Even though he did pay more attention to some things, he had the room in his mind to pay attention to various things in detail at the same time, thought when it came to Casey his whole mind was there. He had also never noticed how much it really irritated him to have the other males in the room thinking of her in, almost, the same way he was. Thought it seemed that human minds usually went right to vulgar things rather than some of the thoughts that Edward seemed to have around her, though many of his did have to do with his nature as a vampire, making sure that he didn’t allow himself to do something that he could never forgive himself for acting upon.

EDWARDCULLENEven thought he was still doing his work and still arguing with Mike, Edward paid close attention to Casey and what she was saying to Eric. He even kept a close watch on Eric’s thoughts. What she had said to Eric about him being the next person to have to work with Edward for a good grade made Edward cough a little just to cover up a laugh. If he just started laughing for no apparent reason he knew that the Mike and maybe the rest of his class would look at him like he was crazy. But Eric’s surprise towards her words only made the moment better, a small smile played at the corners of Edward’s lips which only widened when he heard Casey say that she was going to come over here to see if he and Mike needed help. The only help Edward needed was help getting away from Mike. Who had started saying something about an answer again but Edward ignored him. He looked down at his paper, though he could see Casey walking towards him out of his peripheral vision. When she said hey to him he looked up at her. Just to seep her this close made him smile a little at her. Her face wasn’t far from his since she was right in front of him on the other side of the table leaning towards him. “Hello.” He felt like he should apologize for not sitting with her at lunch, though he didn’t really feel comfortable talking with Casey with Mike so close. He wasn’t threatened by Mike, he just didn’t like the boy and he knew that the other loathed him. He drew in a deep breath, welcoming the burning in his throat when he had done so, he missed Casey’s scent. Though when he did so he had caught something else on her. Something he knew would be there though he just wasn’t looking for it at the moment. He could smell Jaiden on her. His facial expression didn’t change much; his nose might have twitched a bit in reaction to the awful smell mixed with Casey’s. He instinctively looked around the room, even though it was faint he still looked around, out the windows, to make sure the other wasn’t around anywhere. He was sure if the other was around though he would have at least heard his thoughts. For some reason Jaiden did have a rather loud mentally voice. It was another one of the ones—like Rosalie’s—that were rather hard to ignore. He wasn’t sure what to think though, sure she was going to smell like him just a little, she had spent the whole weekend with him, and Edward was sure of it. Everyone in a while he would go and run to Casey’s house and made Alice keep watched just in Casey she could see Casey again. And he never saw anything. She must have stayed over at his house until this morning, which disappointed Edward. He wasn’t sure if the wolves kept her there to keep him away from her or if she stayed there herself just because she wanted to spend time with the other. Edward sighed and looked back down to the paper writing down more answers and he heard Mike getting restless on the other side of the table.

EDWARDCULLENWhen Casey spoke again Edward looked over at Mike with a small smile on his face. “See look, she trusts my answers.” Edward said as he wrote down a couple more answers. He guessed that if eh could get done quickly then Mike could go and take the paper up to Mr. Banner and Edward would have a little time alone with Casey. Mike would probably be told to go back to his desk when he finished the work, which would make Edward happy. He really wanted some time with Casey, even if he didn’t get very long. Though soon after Edward though of that he looked up to see Jason standing there, just like the rest of the humans he never really hears any of his thoughts, he just looked over them not really thinking much about them until now. They infuriated Edward, really could Edward not sit with Casey for one day at lunch—and that might not even have anything to do with it—without all of the human boys jumping at the chance to have Casey. Edward knew that he couldn’t say there was anything going on between the two though; she did know his biggest secret, the thing that could get everyone in his family along with Casey into a lot of trouble. That had to count for something, that he could actually trust her with something like that and that she didn’t have much of a problem with it, well at least that he knew of. He looked up at the boy and then over to Casey. Even though he didn’t want the others asking Casey out, he still wanted to know what she would say. Was there someone else that she may actually like and would rather be with over Edward? He waited for her response though it didn’t seem like an answer to what the other had asked. Edward looked down at his paper and pretended like he wasn’t paying any attention to what they were saying, though he was.

EDWARDCULLENEdward couldn’t help but look up when he heard Casey say the way that they could decide what with a race. He was a bit surprised. Why would she settle something in that way? She could just say no to them all and get it over with. Edward looked away from her for a long time just thinking about what she had said. She would really date one of those guys? Also guys who were sitting there arguing over her right in front of her face? He finished writing down the answers on the paper when Casey apologized. He looked up at her and gave a small smile before he looked over at Mike. “I finished it, why don’t you take it up to Mr. Banner.” Edward said looking at the other. He was sure the other would refuse and say something about an answer being wrong, but surprisingly he actually took the paper up to Mr. Banner and as Edward had expected Mr. Banner told him to go back to his regular seat since he was done with his work. That made Edward happy. Now he and Casey were as close to alone as they would get in the classroom. At least there weren’t other people hovering around her anymore. Edward shrugged a little and looked at Casey “I’m sorry I didn’t sit with you at lunch today. I just didn’t want our conversations to take a turn towards something that would make Rosalie angry” He wasn’t sure if he had really gotten what he wanted to say across to her. He wanted her to know that Rosalie didn’t know that she knew about them being vampires and Edward sort of wanted it to stay that way for a while.

EDWARDCULLENJust a moment after Edward had spoken to her the bell rang. Edward sighed. Just as he had gotten to where he could speak to her the bell rings. That was just his luck today. He needed more time with her, he had barely said a whole sentence to her all day, and it was almost the end of the school day. He wasn’t even sure if she was going to spend more time with her little wolf friend today. He put all of his things back in his bag and walked out of the classroom though, instead of walking off towards his Spanish class though he waited at the door for Casey to walk out. Once she had walked out he stepped away from the wall and walked beside her. “You wouldn’t mind if I walked with you to class, would you?” He said with a smile.

. . . . .

Cassandra had really hopped that Edward didn't think much of what had just happened. The last thing she needed was him to think that someone else was on her mind besides him. As crazy as it sounded, she wanted Edward to know that he was the only one she was thinking about. So what if it made her side a little bit weaker and Edward did finally know what she was thinking for the most part. Because he was in her mind for the majority of the day when she wasn't paying attention to anything else. It was better than having him think that she didn't want to be with him. She never felt so irritated at something in her life. Her friends, or well she thought them as just that, had to come up to her today? For what reason? What gave them the idea that she wanted to even date anyone? Or be with anyone besides Edward? Sure she didn't make it seem noticeable, but Jessica and Angela seemed to get the hint right away. She looked back over at her shoulder to Jason and Tyler who were seeming to argue about something jokingly. She figured that it was about next period, which was probably very soon from the way that Mr. Banner was collecting a few papers from other students. The paper in her hand reminded her about Eric and she glanced over at him with a smile, reassuring him that all was alright. Cassandra did have his paper after all. Her glance went back over towards the two boys at the table once again, Mike and Edward. The only thing that made her think that Edward may not be mad or trying to stray away from her was him actually replying to her greeting before when she came over. But she still couldn't be so sure just yet. Bringing her hopes up wasn't something good when it would come all crashing down. It had happened to her far enough for a life time for it to happen again.

When Edward told Mike to hand the paper over to Mr. Banner, Cassandra quickly wrote something on Eric's paper, fixing a few things and handed it over to Mike as well and to let Eric know that it was checked. Surprisingly to Edward it seem, Mike seemed to obey and leave the table. Cassandra watched him for a second to see that Mr. Banner told him to take his normal seat. So that meant that Cassandra and Edward would have at least a few minutes together before the bell would ring. When Edward's voice came to her again, Cassandra quickly turned around to face him with a bit of a confused look. He was sorry? Blinking just a bit, a faint smile came across her lips. "Oh..." So then that was the reason why Edward wasn't sitting at the table and wouldn't even say a word to her all lunch period. She didn't change her expression much besides letting the confused face falter just a bit to a normal one. Didn't he once say that he didn't care much about what his family thought about what he did? And that he didn't pay much attention to Rosalie to begin with? Cassandra smiled a bit, forgetting the thought. Things were probably much more complicated on the other side. After all, from what she had figured out about Edward, about him being what he was, she was sure that it would probably cause a sore spot in the family discussion if the rest of them found out. "Of course, I told you before that I didn't want to start anything with your family. It's the last thing I want." That and having to hear that Edward wasn't interested in her. And Cassandra had said quiet a few times that she never wanted to cause any problems in Edward's family. She cared too much for him and would never allow his family to fall apart just because of her selfish needs. Her selfishness seemed to get her into more than enough trouble than she wanted, and she wasn't going to drag Edward down into it as well.

Her smile faded however when she heard the bell ring. The time between the two of them was up already. The rest of the students started to hurry up their packing as they let group by group, pair by pair, and even individually. She looked over at the four boys that were still at the front of the desk, Tyler, Jason, Eric, and Mike. Cassandra had gym next with all four of them, and Jessica as well. God was she happy that she did have at least one girl friend of hers with her in class. Since she hadn't even taken out a book from her bag, all she had to do was walk over towards Eric's desk where she had last left it and picked it up, finding Edward soon at the door way where on the opposite side her friends were. As she came up to him to hear what he had to say, she couldn't help but smile just a bit more. At least her day was starting to brighten up slowly. But with her luck today, she wanted to knock on wood so things wouldn't go so wrong. Would knocking on Edward count as that? No, he wasn't wood, he was more of hard stone. So it wouldn't work. But the thought did make her smile just a bit more. Now she was sure that she didn't want Edward to actually know her thoughts. For half the stupid thing she thinks of, Cassandra was sure that Edward would think differently of her. Not sure if it would be positive or negative though. He seemed to be very understanding surprisingly. Now only if he understood that she didn't care what he was, she liked him for who he was. "Honestly, I'm surprise you asked. And I thought you'd know the answer by now." Cassandra started to walk down the hall, only glancing over once at her friends who looked utterly confused by her choosing to walk with Edward instead of them as she usually did. Of course she would choose to walk with him, she hadn't seem him all weekend, or spoken to him. Cassandra wasn't going to let this chance go. Even though it was just down the hall.

Taking a deep breath as she walked as slow as possible so that her friends would be ahead of them now and blend into the crowd, Cassandra shifted the strap of her bag over her shoulder and glanced over at Edward. "So how was your weekend? I hope it wasn't a down poor since...a-" Cassandra wasn't sure how to bring that up, so she let it go. Just encase Edward didn't want to talk about it just now. She understood. It was a very awkward thing to talk about. Having Jaiden just show up like that was the last thing that she wanted. "I'm really sorry about what happened. I really am, Edward." Cassandra couldn't help herself as she looked over at him almost pleadingly as she wanted him to understand that she hadn't planned for Jaiden to take her away like that and for her to be in utter shock to not even move. "I really thought that he wasn't going to even show up. He said that he was going to be gone all night, and would try to make it. But knowing him, I knew that he probably wouldn't show up because he would be doing something else, and..." Her eyes had strayed away from Edward as she was looking down at her hands. They were surprisingly put to fist and it took her a moment to suddenly relax and let them go. Taking a deep breath, she moved a bit towards Edward just so a pair of students could have easier access to walk pass them. She never realized just how many people were filling the halls so quickly. And the fact that some were staring at them just made things a little bit more awkward. "Maybe this isn't the best time to talk about it." Cassandra mumbled just enough for Edward to hear. And it probably wasn't seeing how people here at Forks gossiped just about much as people any where else. It was ridiculous how you could never escape it. "How's Alice?" The most she could do was bring this back to a brighter subject so they didn't have to worry about something so soon. They would get the chance to talk. Edward seemed to want to still talk to her if he was walking with her right now. "I hope she's alright, and herself and Jasper had a good time at the party. I never really got to know what Jasper thought of it." Cassandra hadn't after all. Jasper wasn't with Alice when she had came up to Cassandra which she thought was odd now. It seemed that the two were inseparable.

EDWARDCULLENWhen the two started walking Edward noticed how slow Casey was walking. It made him smile; at lest he knew that she wanted to be with him at this time. Just to know that she still wished to talk to him, that she might still want to be with him even though she does know what he was, made him feel relieved to some extent. Just a couple of days ago he was sure that if she knew that she would run away from him and never wish to see him again, though here she was with him walking down the hall as she still didn’t know. At times Edward couldn’t exactly understand Casey, she knows what danger she is getting into with being around Edward—at least he hoped the realized it—though she didn’t seem put off by it, she was still acting towards him like she had before she even knew. He was going over the thoughts in his mind over and over again when she asked him about his weekend. He looked down at her a little bit surprised that asking about his weekend was one of the first things she said to him. He shrugged a little. He couldn’t tell her that he had been running around looking for her all weekend. He didn’t know that if she would think he was crazy for running around looking for her or if she would feel differently towards him. He wasn’t going to take any chances with it though; it wasn’t a very significant things that she had to know. He sighed though, as if he was thinking over the events that had occurred “It could have been better, Edward said, his tone of voice getting at something had happened but not anything very important “but what about you?” Edward said as he looked down at her hand. He wasn’t going to deliberately ask about it what would he say when he already though he knew what had happened, just not any details of it. He guessed that if she wanted to know about it she would tell him. Though would she tell him? Even if Jaiden did or didn’t do anything would she tell him what had happened? Or would she just brush it off like she seemed to do a lot of the time. He drew in a deep breath as he continued to walk slowly with Casey, matching her strides. Edward had let his eyes move away from Casey and he looked down at his feet while he walked. When Casey apologized, he looked up at her confused for a moment. He didn’t know what she was talking about for a moment. But slowly he made since of it, she was talking about what had happened Friday night with Jaiden. He knew there was no need for her to apologies but what was he going to say to her about what had happened. He couldn’t tell her that he was worried because Jaiden was a werewolf, it wasn’t Edward’s place to tell her that she was surrounded by more than what she thought she was. He could only tell her about himself, and if he told her about Jaiden, it wasn’t exactly against the treaty, it only said that the wolves couldn’t tell humans about the Cullens, though he knew if he did tell her it wouldn’t improve his relationship with the wolves at all. He hadn’t been around them enough to know what they really thought of him, though he knew that they must be confused—there was never any trouble between them until Edward had begun to show an interest in Casey, even though Edward and the rest of the Cullens didn’t know that the wolves were still around until recently.

EDWARDCULLEN“There is no need to apologize. What happened wasn’t your fault.” He said, that was the only thing he could think to say though, what else could he tell her? While he spoke he was trying to keep most of the emotion out of his voice. Even if he did let the emotion come through while he spoke he wasn’t sure what it would be. Would it show the anger towards Jaiden, the happiness of being with Casey, or some other emotion which he wasn’t really sure of at the moment? He didn’t say anything after she had started speaking again. He just moved his bag from where it was over his shoulder to holing it in front of him so that he could get something out. He took out the small mask that Casey had dropped when she had left the dance. “I thought you would have wanted this back.” He said as he held it out to her. She had seemed wrapped up in it’s design while they were talking outside of the dance, he guessed that she liked it, and she might have been a little put off when she had noticed she had lost it—if she had noticed at all. After a moment he zipped his bag back up and moved it back over to his shoulder where it had been before. He looked away from Casey and let his eyes roam over what was in front of him. He wasn’t exactly sure what to say to her—actually he had no idea what he should say to her. He was almost thankful when she decided that it wasn’t the best time to talk about what had happened on Friday. He smiled a little when she asked about Alice. “She has been excited, for the most part.” Edward said with a small smile thinking about what Alice continuously thinks about now. All she wants to do is make friends with Casey even thought it seems that they are pretty close to being friends now. They have only talked two times, that Edward knew of, and it seemed that Casey wanted to get close to Alice as well. The only thing that Edward didn’t like about it was that no one really though about how all of this could effect Casey. He was almost sure that Casey didn’t know all the dangers behind being associated with vampires, if she did know how could she stay here? Edward was soon going to find out that there was no reason to ask all of these questions to himself. He guessed that he had never realized how much Casey really did like him, and like being around him. He looked down the hall, the door into the gymnasium was closer than Edward wanted it to be. “I’m not really sure about Jasper to be truthful. I didn’t hear him say anything about the dance and I was pretty wrapped up in something all weekend to really ask him how it was.” Edward said letting his eyes move over to Casey.

EDWARDCULLENWhen they got to the door Edward stopped and looked down at Casey. The halls were almost empty. They had walked slowly and most other students had already gotten to class. Edward paused for a long moment. He yearned to embrace her a the moment, though he didn’t act upon it. He just gave her a small smile. “I should get to class. I’ll see you later, Casey.” Edward said as he looked at the other before he started to walk off towards his next class. It didn’t feel right to him and just turn around and walk away. He drew in a deep breath as he walked into his Spanish class right as the bell rang. The teacher look at him for a moment before she started to call roll and he walked back towards his seat in the classroom. He heard Emmett asking about what had happened over the weekend and what Edward was trying to hide from Rosalie. Edward just shook his head slightly and looked out the windows. Oddly enough he could see right out to the track, the place where all those guys would race to spend a night with Casey. What kind of men were they if they thought they could win a date by running the fastest or being the smartest. Love isn’t about being the best at anything other than make the other happy, isn’t that right? He watched out the window while The teacher spoke Spanish to the rest of the class. No one understood what she was actually saying other than Edward and Emmett and they both had their minds else were. The rest of the class was only picking up some words and when she spoke to fast they tried to remember what “Please slow down” was translated into Spanish. Emmett continued to mentally pester Edward about things that he had already asked and that Edward had already ignored. He drew win a deep breath as he continued to look out the window. He waited for Casey and the rest of the students to come into view. It had actually stopped raining. He listened to a couple of the students thoughts as they walked around after they had changed into their gym clothes, never staying with one person for more than a couple of seconds.

σн|σн|sεε Urgh. Sorry is horrible. Dx

. . . . .

Cassandra didn't want the time between the two of them to end at all. Finally getting to talk to Edward after all that time was something that she was dying to live for - if that even made any sense. And the smile that he gave her just made her want to be with him even more. It never faltered. However when he answered her question about the weekend, she made an odd expression of confused that he answered that way. She was hoping for a bit to much already. She let it go quickly though with a smile and a faint laugh as she saw his eyes go down to her hand just like everyone else had. "Mine was distracting. And this is nothing, I've been through worse, trust me," Cassandra said glancing over at Edward with a faint grin before looking back over at her hand. "I just got over excited about something and wasn't watching where my hands were flying." And thinking about it, that was the complete truth. A surge of what seemed to feel similar to the excitement feeling someone would get in them had come up on her, and she hadn't been paying attention to where her hands were flying off to and just hit something hard. So she wasn't lying at all. Complete truth. "But I can't help but feel as if it was, Edward. Jaiden is my problem. My friend. He just seems to get over protective of things lately its really starting to bug me out by the way he handles it." Her eyes were still glued to her hand, but slowly let her arm drop to her side as she shifted her bag over her shoulder and shook her head. "He's different from the old Jaiden I knew back in California." And she was sure of why, but still not completely certain. It was risky to come to the conclusion that he had gone through some weird transformation. But at the time, Cassandra would believe anything. She only looked over at Edward once again to see that he had moved his bang in front of him to take something out. Noticing that he seemed to be his normal hard emotion self, she looked down at the gold and white mask that he pulled out. Her eye brows lifted in surprising as she wasn't expecting to see that anytime soon.

"I didn't know you had it. I didn't even know I didn't." Cassandra said as she took the mask and looked down at it. "Thanks, I had completely forgotten about it." Her voice was just a little lower, but that could have been because the crowd around them was louder. She lifted the flap of her own bag and placed it in there safely and out of any area where it could be broken. The last thing she wanted was Edward to see that it had just ended up broken when he had taken the time to give it back to her. But she was fond of the mask, she had to admit. And when the conversation there had officially dropped of what happened that night, and went to Alice and Jasper, Cassandra felt relived as well that Edward agreed it wasn't the best time to talk about it, even though she had started it up. She just wanted to apologize for it all. Just to make sure that Edward wasn't upset at her for anything that she did do. "I haven't really had the time to talk to her more than that, honestly. It seems like things are always keeping us apart." Cassandra was just a little disappointed that she didn't have enough time with Alice, but still hopeful that she was going to now that Edward and herself were on talking terms. Not that they were off it really. He was just trying to throw off his sister which she completely understood. However when Edward was unsure of what Jasper thought, Cassandra couldn't help but think that maybe Jasper had taken Rosalie's side and started to hate her as well. "I hope he doesn't hate me or anything. Favors aren't on my side if I have two of your family members in the run for hating me." Biting the corner of her lip softly, she looked around only to notice that they had arrived at the gymnasium. The fact that Edward said he was wrapped up something over the weekend hadn't even hit her until later when she noticed that Edward was looking down at her and had stopped walking. Cassandra did as well as she looked up over at him, wanting to say something, and yet not all at the same time. No, at the moment everything inside her just wanted to hold Edward, have him hold her and never let go. But she had to hold back the urge. Gripping the strap on her bag, she smiled faintly as Eward said he would see her later. "Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow." The time would pass by. Slowly, and painfully, but she would get to see Edward again tomorrow. And she was sure they would have more to talk about and more time to as well.

Gym was a bit more entertaining than she had imagined it to be. Being away from Edward made everything seem so gray, but with her two so called friends seeming to be so pumped about the race. Cassandra couldn't help but just have a grin on her face. Oh how things were so different than the way the saw it. The class got together once everyone was changed, heading outside in a big pack which was separated into a few smaller ones with Cassandra's friends along side her. It was contestants, Tyler and Jason, along with Mike, Jessica, Angela and Eric. It was surprising to her how all her friends and herself were in the same class. The chill of the wind swept across their faces as they made their way out into the track field, and Jessica automatically huddled over to Mike saying that she was cold. Angela and Cassandra looked at each other with a faint grin. As they made their way to the beginning of the track, Cassandra approached both Tyler and Jason who seemed to be ready to go any second now. She bent over just a bit between them and looked at each of them first with a smile. "Ready boys?" The both of them grinned at each other in a competitive force. And just like that, the teacher told them to start, and they darted forward as the slow paced class followed behind them. Angela came next to Cassandra who was jogging and enjoying a good laugh behind. "Are you really going through with this? I can't believe your going to go out with one of them, I swear you were into Edward." Angela was the only one that really knew that Cassandra liked Edward. She hadn't told anyone else, and it was actually the fact that Angela figured it out.

"Of course," Cassandra looked around to see that it was just Angela and herself a little ahead of the class before she looked back over at her. "I'm still interested in him. I just thought we could have a little entertainment and I had to get them off my back some how. Jason's been at it for awhile, and I can't believe he even came up to me in Biology to ask me that. Right in front of Edward." And Mike. She had felt bad that it was in front of Mike as well seeing how he was just as a good guy that was shunned down by Cassandra. Angela made an agreed face but her eye brows pulled together just a bit. "But then how..." And she was cut off by the expression that Cassandra seem to hold on her face. "I never said that it was just the two of them racing." A grin appeared on Cassandra's face as she looked over at Angela and told her that she'd catch her at the end of class. Her legs picked up speed quickly, faster than any of the students way behind her now. It was almost as if she was on the track time. But she wasn't, nor would she be. In a matter of just seconds, she had caught up with Tyler and Jason, running right between them and slowing down her pace so they could keep up with her. "Hello boys." She said smiling, and both of them were a little surprised that Cassandra had caught up with them so quickly. They were close to the end now though. And both of them were head to head. All Cassandra could do was shake her head. "Sorry to disappoint you boys..." And with that, Cassandra speed up once again, to her so called normal pace but fast for the others, and was making her way to the end until she heard a faint crack which only made her slow down just as she came to the end. A pain was ringing up and down her left leg. But casually she took a seat at the bench as she knew the other two were just right behind her to finish as well. Looking down at her ankle, she closed her eyes and just bit her tongue a bit. How could have she been so foolish?

"Ha, beat you Tyler." Jason's voice came as the two of them came panting over towards where Cassandra was sitting, not even noticing that Cassandra was in her own thoughts. But she quickly snapped out of it and looked over at the two of them with a grin, standing up again as if it nothing was wrong. But the pain once again climbed it way all the way up with her knee. She kept quiet, and was still herself. Someone had to be very observant to see that she was hurt. Edward would have might notice, but he wasn't here. Thankfully. Who knew what he would say to her. That she was being foolish of course. "Jason, you didn't win. I crossed that line first." The boys mouth was starting to open to say something, but Cassandra placed a finger up. "I never said who was in the race, or if it was a closed one. I never said that I wouldn't be in it myself either. I have something that I want as well. Anyone in the class could have won, guys. And well, I did. So I get what I want. And well, that thing isn't here right now. Sorry." A smile was on her lips as she shrugged her shoulders a bit, knowing that it was probably very evil what she had done, but it was all in good fun, and she knew the two boys would get it too. They seemed surprised and couldn't believed they were just complete fools and blamed each other for not noticing it. Cassandra couldn't help but laugh as the rest of the class soon came around, Angela coming to her first. Cassandra let her knew just what happened, and Angela shook her head with a grin, praising her friend all at the same time. "You are so bad." She said with a laugh, and Cassandra only responded, "No, just devious." And with that said, the class was entering back into the school, going into their respective locker rooms. Once they were done changing however, Cassandra meet up with Mike and Jessica to head on home - finally. Her locker however was standing in her way to getting home. She remembered that Jaiden's jacket was inside and had to return it to him. That and because she was actually cold from the winter breeze that was still keeping them company. Once she had gotten her things, Cassandra and the others walked out of the school, only to set sight on two people she didn't expect so soon to see.

Dressed in a dark navy blue wool petite coat, with dark brown loose curls falling over her shoulder, her sister stood there speaking quickly with Jaiden, who was jacket-less once again, and only wore a sweatshirt and jeans with his motorcycle helmet clutched between his hip and right arm. He seemed to be wanting to say something to Annissa but his lips were forced shut by the words that she was saying. It was completely astonishing to Cassandra that her sister still had that power to make people sit back and shut up as she was talking. But then just that thought made her feel at unease. What was she telling Jaiden? Better yet, why were the two of them here? The six foot man with the bike she understood seeing how he said he was going to pick her up after school, but her sister? Had the principle said something about her sister coming to pick her up after school? Cassandra was sure that he hadn't. Then again, her mind was wondering off else where the second that the old man had started to speak. A guilt rushed over her mind but it left as soon as it came as Cassandra made past the school doors and left Mike and Jessica standing there together, both of their eyes she could tell, watching her as she left to confront her sister and Jaiden.

"What are you doing here?" Cassandra's voice was just a little irritated that both her sister and Jaiden were in the parking lot as the other students were coming out from the end of the school day. A few looked over at her, but had to do a double take when they saw the two that were standing with her. Annissa was standing next to Jaiden with her arms crossed, seeming to be slightly annoyed herself, but with Jaiden from something they might have been speaking about. Jaiden on the other hand was leaning against his bike which was prompt up, and was just turned off. Cassandra could tell from the faint smell of gas she could pick up as she came closer to them. She sighed as she looked around, tilting her hair just a bit as almost to cover her face once she saw some of the stares and gasp from a few of the people she wasn't even sure that had gone to the school even. It felt like she was here for her first day of school again. "Honestly, Anna, you know your famous around this town, and you just show up like this? You could have called or texted me saying that you would pick me up after school. I though Jaiden was just going to take me over to his place and I would meet you there." Cassandra's voice was quiet seeing that she didn't want anyone in their business. Because in Forks, all people seemed to do was try and figure out just what was going on with whom. From the corner of her eyes, she saw Jaiden about to speak, but her sister interrupted him before he could even start. "Look, I just need to get some stress free time from Vivan. And I called the hospital asking if Carlisle could make some room for you. Don't make me efforts go to waste. Come on, I don't want to hold him up when he has other patients as well. Jaiden, I'll see you back at your place." Annissa's left arm was already around her sisters shoulders as she was dragging her off to where her black infinity was waiting for them. It was laying there in one of the teachers parking lots as if it was allowed to. Cassandra just wondered how comfortable Annissa really was with people around here.

It was only when Cassandra was forced into the passengers seat of her sister's car that she glanced back over at Jaiden to see him mounting his bike, but not leaving just yet. His eyes were fixed somewhere. Somewhere where she couldn't quiet see clearly because of the blur of people that stood between in the gaping distance. The car started to pull out of the school parking lot, and still Cassandra noticed that Jaiden hadn't moved just yet. She stared at him until the trees started to block her view. "This place has way to many trees." The words came out of her lips, but there was no answer from her sister beside a faint sigh. Cassandra of course wasn't expecting anything more. Leaning back against the leather seats of the car, she realized that her sister drove a nice car when she had the crappy one. "Why is it that you have this car while I get the beat up SUV that you tortured?" The olive sea green eyes looked over at her sister who just seemed to glance over at her faintly before keeping her eyes on the road. "It was a gift from Noah, actually. I don't know why he decided to get me this instead of a..." The words seemed to fade off, but Cassandra knew where they were heading. "A ring?" Finishing the sentence she sighed heavily as she thought about it. "You know, I never pictured you as a married woman, sis. I mean, you never seemed to ever talk about it before. You seemed against it really." Her sister didn't seem to take this to offense however as she heard Cassandra, but responded instead. "Oh your right. I'm not the marriage type at all, especially considering our family, you think we'd learn by now what it all leads to. But I've just started to really think about it recently and I'm not sure...maybe things can be different with me. With us." Annissa seemed to add the last two words at the end rather quickly, almost correcting herself. "I doubt it. You can risk it if you like, but I won't."

And with the ending of that conversation, or well the way that it ended anyways, the two of them made it to the hospital within seventeen minutes. Both of them made their way inside, and stopped at the front desk where Annissa signed some paper and a nurse came to them, telling them to follow her to a empty room. They were escorted by the lady in scrubs to a empty room which only held one bed. She asked Cassandra to take a seat as she took the usual information needed for the chart to give to the doctor. Cassandra was quiet the whole time, just as her sister was. However her sister kept her eyes on her the whole time as if she knew something that Cassandra didn't. It made her feel just slightly uneasy when the nurse was checking her pressure, and had to make her double check it because she wasn't being completely calm. Once the woman was done, she told the two sisters that Carlisle would be in momentary and if Annissa was sure that she wanted only him to check Cassandra. Of course Annissa said yes, and the woman left at that. The silence a few minutes after the nurse had left was stating to get a bit too eerie for Cassandra, and she was deciding on either or not starting up a conversation with her sister again. But with the look that she was getting from her sister, she decided not to. Luckily enough for her though, Carlisle entered with a smile greeting the both of them. And just as he asked what was wrong, and Cassandra was about to speak, Annissa took over completely as if she didn't trust her sister to tell the complete truth.

"She hit her hand pretty badly over the weekend. But I used some home made remedies to ease the pain, and a friend of ours wrapped it up nicely. I just wanted to make sure that nothing was broken, it didn't seem like it was." Annissa said as she folded her arms casually over her coat that she was still wearing and walked over towards where Cassandra was sitting on the bed looking at her wrapped hand. At least she hadn't taken it off, her sister had to give her points for that. "And her left ankle." Annissa said as she looked questionable angry and disappointed at her sister. Cassandra on the other hand was completely caught of guard as she her her sister say this and could feel her heart beat just racing a bit faster. As if she was caught in a lie or something. Her eyes were locked onto her sisters, wondering just how she had found out about her ankle. She was sure that she was walking perfectly fine as she came into the building even though it was painful without the brace. "I think she might have twisted it, or it can even be broken." Cassandra really now started to just wonder how her sister knew that. It was broken. Right on cue. It had be broken actually since Cassandra came to Forks a month or so ago. Closing her eyes as she looked away from her sister, she cursed once in her mind knowing that her sister was going to bombard her with questions once the two of them were alone.

EDWARDCULLENEdward was still sitting his Spanish class when he saw the class that Casey was in walk into view from the window he was sitting near. He kept his mind on Angela’s thoughts. There was too much of a distance as well as the walls of the school that made it where Edward couldn’t hear them talking for himself. He wasn’t really paying much attention to what anyone was thinking or saying around Casey. He just kept with one person’s mind whoever was either looking at her at the moment or talking to her. He usually kept with Angela thought. She started to talk to Casey and it spiked Edward’s attention. Casey had just asked the two boys that were racing if they were ready and then the teacher had told them to start. After that Angela started talking to Casey. Her words rang through his mind until Casey replied ‘I swear you were into Edward’ and then Casey’s words after were ‘Of course,’. Edward wasn’t sure what she was talking about though. If she was talking about Edward, or talking about if she was really going to go through with the race thing. Edward watched through the eyes of on lookers as Casey started to run faster, soon Edward saw that she had caught up with the other two, she said a couple of things to them and then she started running faster. Really? If she could run that fast if she hadn’t been listening to her ipod when that roof had fallen on her she would have probably been able to dodge it. Though Edward was almost thankful that she hadn’t. If she had actually been able to get out of that by her self then would the two really be as close as they are now? Casey wouldn’t have had any proof—to herself—that Edward was any different than any other human male. And if she didn’t have something she wanted to figure out would they have really gotten as close as they did? Edward wouldn’t say that there as no way that they wouldn’t have started talking at all. Edward thought that he would have eventually started talking to her, from the beginning he had felt a pull towards her, though he continuously ignored it and thought that it wasn’t there at all even thought there was really no denying it in the first place. He didn’t believe that the two had ‘love at first sight’, because love was the last thing on his mind the first time he had seen her. Edward’s thoughts roamed over many different subjects while he continued to watch Casey and the others. He smiled a little to himself when he saw that the Jason and Tyler had finally caught up with Casey, who was now sitting on a bench, When Casey’s class walked back into the school Edward let his mind come back to what was actually happening in his class. He noticed how Emmett had been looking at him in an odd way, still mentally trying to talk Edward into telling him what had happened over the weekend with him and Casey.

EDWARDCULLENA few moments before the bell rang something caught his attention. He sighed to himself, was that really Jaiden’s thoughts he was hearing. And soon after he noticed the thoughts of Casey’s sister, Annissa. Why were they all here? Edward tried his best to drown out their thoughts. He was actually listening to Emmett’s thoughts at the moment trying to draw his attention away from the others. Though part of his mind was listening to their thoughts. Finally when the bell rang he gather up all of his things and walked out of the classroom. He didn’t walk too quickly. He usually was never able to catch up with Casey after the end of class anyway, and the fact that both that dog and her sister were here he couldn’t talk to her before he left, and he would also have to through Rosalie into that mix because she would be looking as well. As soon as Edward took a step out of the building he could smell the foul smell of that wolf around, he could hear a conversation between Casey and he sister and for a second he could see her as she was walking away from Jaiden with her sister. And Jaiden’s eyes were locked on him. Edward tried his best not to hear his thoughts, somehow the wolves had figured out about Edward’s ‘gift’ so just about every time they were near each other he was sending warnings or threats towards Edward and at the moment he really didn’t want to hear it. Edward glared at the other, and even though he didn’t take his eyes off of the other he walked straight over to the Volvo where the rest of his family was already waiting. He must have really been walking slow today since he was usually the first over to the car. Edward got in the car and he didn’t pay any attention to any one. He just thought idly of the conversation that he had heard between Casey and Annissa. Casey was going to the hospital? She didn’t sound surprised about it, was that what she was called out of biology for? Edward pressed his foot down harder on the gas as they passed through all the traffic of the people that were all trying to get out of the parking lot.

EDWARDCULLENCarlisle was walking back towards his office when a nurse stopped him and told him that he had a patient waiting for him, she handed him a clipboard with the information on it. He nodded and turned around and walked back to where she had directed him. He looked down at the paper and saw the name. Oh it was time for Casey’s appointment already? He opened the door and walked into the room with a warm smile on his face. The last time he had seen both Casey and Annissa was the last time Casey had to come to the hospital. “Good afternoon.” Carlisle said pausing for a moment as he walked across the room to stand beside where Casey was sitting. “And what brings you here today?” he said looking at Casey for a moment, expecting her to answer though Annissa spoke before the other could. Carlisle looked over towards her and listened to her explanation. He raised his eyebrows a little and looked back to Casey “It’s been a rough couple of days hasn’t it?” He said before he spoke again. “How is your hand feeling though?” He asked as he held his hand out towards her. “May I take a look at it, I can make a pretty good guess on it before you go and get x-rays.” Carlisle said as he looked at the other’s hand as he slowly unwrapped the bandage so he could examine it. He looked at her hand for a moment he turned her hand a little and he gently pressed his fingers against different places on her hand making sure he couldn’t feel any broken bones, and he couldn’t. He released her hand and looked back towards Annissa then he looked back at Casey. “It’s not broken, just bruised and a little swollen. I don’t think there is any need to get an x-ray on it, unless you wish to get one done.” Carlisle said the last part to Annissa. There were some people who didn’t trust any one person’s diagnoses without actual proof. Carlisle took a pen from his coat pocket and started to write a couple of things down on the clipboard. In his pocket something started beeping. He sighed “Excuse me for a moment.” Carlisle said and stuck his hand into one of his pockets and pulled out his pager, though that wasn’t what was beeping at him. That means that it was his cell phone. He pulled it out and just looked at the number before he ignored the call and looked back towards Casey. “I apologize for that interruption, it wasn’t important as I expected it to be.” He said as he finished writing the things down on the paper before he looked back at Casey.

EDWARDCULLENAfter Carlisle took a good look at Casey’s foot he began writing again while he spoke “I think it’s dislocated. Nothing looks broken, though.” He said he looked up at her from the paper “Did you walk on that ankle?” Carlisle asked, he noticed how the other had seemed surprised when Annissa had said something about her ankle. “Dislocated bones can be rather painful.” He said as he finished writing a couple of things down on a different piece of paper which he handed to Annissa. “I can make you an appointment for tomorrow with a chiropractor to get your ankle reset.” He was speaking to Casey though he had given the information to Annissa. “Also you will probably need to keep an ice pack on it so that it doesn’t swell.” Carlisle knew that if it swelled to much it would be hard for the bone to be reset. He looked over at Annissa and continued speaking. “I wrote a prescription that will need to be applied about three times a day, about every six hours. It should help with any sensitivity caused by the bruising and it should help the swelling go down. You should probably keep ice on her hand as well.” Carlisle informed Annissa of almost everything that he could think the inform her of before he looked back at Casey. “Stay off you ankle. Walking on it won’t help it heal.” He looked down at a list that was on the clipboard. “You will have to stay out of school for at least a day. Just do what the other doctor tells you to do and all should be well.” Carlisle stuck his hand into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper, he never carried around business cards, but this morning he had written down all of his phone numbers—his cell phone, his office, and the house phone. He cared for all humans, though he was going to do all he could to help her if Edward felt the way he about her as the rest of the family actually thought he did. He gave the girl a small smile and handed her the paper. “If you have any questions, or if you need anything at all feel free to call me, at any time.” Carlisle said as he finally put his pen back into his pocket. He drew in a deep breath as he stepped towards the door. “Anything else?”

EDWARDCULLENEdward sat at the piano playing a couple of songs. Esme sat on the couch commenting him on his playing, though he didn’t think of it. There was something wrong. He tried his best not to listen to Annissa’s thoughts when he was so close to her today, but he couldn’t help it. He didn’t get much of anything out of it, other than the fact that there was something else wrong with Casey other than her hand, though he didn’t really listen as hard as he thought he should have now, even though he did think he should keep the girls privacy. He had heard her say that Casey had an appointment with Carlisle at the hospital. It had to be for her hand. But Edward couldn’t help but be curious he stopped playing in the middle of a song. He barely heard Esme’s question to him. He just brushed it off. He started to pace back and forth across the room as he took out his cell phone and dialed Carlisle’s number. He walked back in forth for a couple of seconds waiting for him to pick up. The phone rang two times before it was cut off. Edward drew in a deep breath and he continued to walk back and forth between the two walls. Was he going to answer or was he going to keep ignoring Edward’s calls? It wasn’t very unusual for Carlisle to ignore calls while he was working. He really only answered them when he was in his office going through paperwork or something. Edward continued pacing though for a little longer trying to decide what he should do. Should he go to the hospital now and ask like he wanted to, or should he stay at home and wait for Carlisle like he probably should do. He walked back to the piano and sat down and he started to play again. Maybe Carlisle would call him back when he got a chance. He was still pondering on whether he should go to the hospital or not.

Jaiden wouldn’t move, not anytime until after he knew that Edward was going the opposite way from the Hospital. He would make sure that the vampire family wasn’t going to go after Cassandra. His eyes were completely locked onto Edward as he watched him slowly make his way to his car. He could feel some of the students looking over at them, thinking that there might just be a fight any time soon between the two predators that were circling around each other by their eyes. Yes, he was out numbered, and he knew that if he went head on towards Edward, his family would be right beside him an in second. Jaiden wasn’t that stupid. Even though the smell of the cold blooded monsters was irritating him enough to attack, he stood completely still against his bike. He hadn’t even notice that some of the male students were checking out the bike he was on until one of them actually spoke to him. He was only distracted for a second as he looked over at the guy before over at Edward’s car to notice it zoom off out of the parking lot. Jaiden placed his helmet on as he kicked his baby to life, a small roar coming from it as he watched the Volvo disappear. “Thanks,” was all that came out of Jaiden’s mouth as he replied back to the comment that was given to him earlier. He made his way out of the parking lot, waiting at the corner of the street to completely see that the Volvo was gone before turning the opposite way and making it to his own reservation. He’d have to tell Noah that Annissa had actually shown up to the school to take Cassandra. Especially when he had taken just the one day off from watching Annissa to check around the reservation and their area since Jaiden wanted to go pick up Cassandra. So partly it would be his fault that Annissa was at the school. And that was their argument before Cassandra had came towards the two. ‘As if my day wasn’t good enough.’ Jaiden thought as he lean away from his bike to make another sharp turn down a road that was narrow. He knew that Noah would go at it on him.

Cassandra and Annissa on the other hand were completely safe. Even though Cassandra was probably the only one that knew that Carlisle’s family was a little different than most, she had complete trust in them all. Well mostly all of them. Rosalie sometimes scared the crap out of her since she was hated so much by the beauty. Cassandra wondered just why Rosalie hated her so much. Edward didn’t tell her much about anything that dealt with his family and it was hard enough to try and figure things out about him. After all, look how long it had taken her to just get to the conclusion that he was what he was, and that his family was probably as well from all the features they all had in common. It sure made things much easier to understand for her. It was only when Carlisle actually touched her hand, that familiar cold touch that made her actually realize how much she wanted to see Edward, and almost just believed that she was with him if it wasn’t for the difference in the voice and touch. With Edward, everything in her body seemed to tingle whenever he touched her. Everything seemed to change. Cassandra was sure that no one would be able to ever do that to her the way he could. She bit the side of her lip from having the urge to ask Carlisle something about Edward, or just to blurt out that she wanted to see him right now. How embarrassing would it be that she would say that to his father? She was sure that the embarrassment would kill her. “Anna’s just over reacting,” Cassandra quickly said as she saw Carlisle turn her hand around. And she really did believe that her hand was nothing to worry about at all. What surprised her so sudden was the fact that her sister actually cared what happened to her now. The thought was starting to annoy her but she let it go, knowing that having Carlisle in the middle of all their own family mess was the last thing she wanted if she didn’t even allow Edward to be in it. Cassandra glanced over at Annissa who was just staring at her hand just as Carlisle was at the moment. A mental sigh rolled around as she looked away and back at what the fuss was, her hand. “It feels fine really. I just kept ice on it over the weekend and it lessened.” Being used to injuries like bruises was something that she was all so familiar with so she knew very well what Carlisle tell her to do. Her sister on the other hand might have no idea what to do, or was just trying too hard to be a good sister, which in Cassandra’s mind she should even try. It was a harsh thing to say, but one wouldn’t think the same if they knew the whole truth of their story.

“Carlisle, you know I trust your judgment.” Annissa said with a faint week smile as she leaned against the other clear bed that was across from where Cassandra was sitting. She glanced over at her sister, and the two of them caught each other’s glances before Carlisle started to speak again. His phone had gone off, and it only caught Cassandra’s eye more than her sister. She wondered who it was that it didn’t seem that important for Carlisle to pick up. Was Edward calling him? Had Edward found out about her being at the hospital? For some reason Cassandra didn’t doubt that. From all that she notices before what he could do, this was nothing out of his league to figure out. However Cassandra looked away from the doctor and back over in front of her at the ground where nothing interesting stood. She really had to get out o everyone’s life. Just because they might know Edward doesn’t mean that everything they do revolved about him. It was just the fact that Edward was the only thing on her mind ever since last week. Nothing seemed to distract her for more than ten minutes. As Carlisle apologized for the call however, both Annissa and Cassandra smiled faintly at him saying that it was alright. Cassandra had previously taken her shoe off so that Carlisle could examine it while he was looking at her hand before. But she did have to admit that it hurt just a bit when he was taking a look at it. Maybe it was smart to get it fixed instead of walking on the leg in pain everywhere. Cassandra knew that not even she would be able to forcefully push the pain for forever. It was hard enough when it was hurt before she had gotten to Forks. And even then, she was on medication. “Only for a bit.” Cassandra state when Carlisle asked if she had walked on it. “When I was coming here.”

“Yeah, I think I learn that one while walking.” A weak smile was on Cassandra’s lips as she looked over at Carlisle when he said that dislocated ankles were a pain to deal with. And heck, they sure were. Cassandra had hurt herself before in training and such, but it was dealt with the first second a doctor could get to her. “That would be wonderful.” Annissa said when she heard Carlisle mention that he could call in a chiropractor to reset the bone back to its original place. Annissa looked over at her cell phone as she started to push a few buttons until a calendar came into view. She made a face as she noticed that she was busy tomorrow and was positive that she wouldn’t be able to get Cassandra back at the hospital. But she was sure that Jaiden would be free, or assumed that he would. If not, they would be able to figure something out. “Reset it?” Cassandra on the other hand made a face as if she heard that her leg was falling off and she would never be able to walk. However, it was completely the opposite really. She was getting it fixed so she could properly walk again. She thought about the pain and the cracking noise she would here and felt herself sink. This was why she really didn’t like to go to hospitals much, even though Carlisle changed her whole view on doctors completely. Cassandra was in her own daze as she looked over at Carlisle and then to her sister whom he was speaking to at the moment. Annissa seemed to absorb it all in for the both of them, so she didn’t pay much attention. But before Carlisle was able to leave where he was standing, Cassandra quickly whispered something to him, which she was sure that he would only hear. “Don’t let Edward know about any of this, please?” To Cassandra, it was because she didn’t want Edward to know that she was weak enough not to take a dislocated bone, and she didn’t want him to worry about her either. She watched him head towards the door then, and gave a smile. “Thanks Dr. Cullen.” Cassandra’s smile was natural this time and she was grateful for the help that Carlisle had given her. And she really hopped that it wasn’t a bother to him either that her sister has asked for him specifically.

“No, there’s nothing else. Thanks again.” Cassandra said as she looked over at her sister a little annoyed. Once Carlisle was out of the room, a nurse came in and gave a pair of crutches to Cassandra to use to walk with. A heavy sigh came out of her lips as she knew that her armpits were going to be sore by tomorrow. Cassandra was getting on them as she noticed her sister heading out the door, calling Carlisle’s name in the processes. She raised her eye brow just a bit wondering what it was that she wanted to tell the doctor vampire. ‘Doctor Vampire…’ Cassandra thought about it and noticed just how bizarre that completely sounded. Shaking her head as she listened to what her sister was saying, she placed her shoe back on sloppily. “Carlisle, you still owe me a dinner at my place with your family, or at least yourself and Esme.” Annissa said with a faint smile. She had been trying to get the two of them to come over for awhile but it seemed that the family was always busy or something on her own side would come up. Cassandra on the other hand heard what her sister said, and let a small laugh escape her lips that she was trying to hold back. She had to even place her hand over her mouth to make sure that she would let anymore come out. Had Carlisle heard her laugh in the distance? She wouldn’t be all that surprise if he did seeing how her sister turned around to look at her. All Cassandra could do was smile innocently. “You – Lets go, now.” Annissa said as her eyes narrowed and let her sister come out of the room. Cassandra looked back over at Carlisle who was down the hall and gave a smile that held back a laughter that wanted to come out. It was just amusing to her that Annissa wanted to invite a family of vampires over for dinner. Then again, she shouldn’t be laughing seeing how if she was in Anna’s place, she’d probably do the same thing without knowing. “Thanks again, I’ll make sure her visits here aren’t so reoccurring.” Annissa said as she was walking behind her sister and waving towards Carlisle. The two had made it back outside in the cold, and into the car – Cassandra just having a little bit of difficulty with the leg and all. It took her a total of a good two minutes to get settled in before Annissa drove off back home, somewhere where Cassandra really just wanted to be to relax.

“I can’t believe you let her go alone! Are you out of your mind, Jay? You should have told her you’d take Cassandra there.” Noah’s voice was on a roll as he stormed around their house passing a few of the pack members who seemed just ready to run off to find the two girls on any order. But Noah didn’t give out any order, which confused Jaiden quiet a bit seeing how upset he was about all of this. Guess things with Annissa and Noah were just a bit different than others relationship in the pack. “I told you-“ Jaiden was cut off once again by Noah rambling about it all over again. Jaiden just jerked his head back slowly and rolled his eyes. Letting out a heavy sigh, he looked back down slowly at Noah who was putting his jacket on now. “Patrol the area’s you were all assigned to. Let me know if anything is wrong. I’m heading over to Annissa’s place.” Noah looked over at Jaiden at the end of his sentence and noticed he was about to say something. “No, I’ll tell her you said hello though.” He knew what Jaiden was thinking. For him to come along as well to help keep ‘watch.’ But everyone knew that Noah was really going there to just be with Annissa since he hadn’t seen her since morning. Sometimes they all wondered if the man could just go a day without any contact with his loved one. But they would all soon find out how it felt.

The hours had seemed to fly by after they had gotten home. Noah was around for most of the day, but he had said something about Jaiden having to have to get a few things done for something. Cassandra wasn’t sure what it was because she wasn’t paying much attention honestly. The anger in her that she had over the weekend was gone, and she realized there was no point in holding all that in when so much else was going on around in her life. The last thing she needed to do was worry about why Jaiden was lying to her when she could just wait until he was able to tell her the truth or she could figure it out on her own. Dinner was just the three of them, Noah, Annissa and herself. It was usually like that ever since she had gotten here; it was like Noah literally lived with them. If not, Annissa was always at his place. Cassandra just really thought the two of them should get married, buy a house and have little Noaissa. Dragging it for five years was more than long enough, her sister was right. She really wondered what Noah was thinking about holding back so long. But then again, it wasn’t her life to bug into. If she was her sister, she’d be happy without the whole marriage deal and still have the one she loved beside her. “Well I really have to head out, Anna…” Cassandra could hear the words from the other room as she was heading up the stairs. There was some silence, and she could have guessed what was happening but decided against it and headed up to the head of the stairs. She looked back over down at the two that came into view finally and waved over at Noah as he left the front door, Annissa lingering there for a good minute as the car passed out of view. Cassandra watched as her sister closed the door and looked up over at her. “Off the leg, you heard Carlisle.” Cassandra could feel her eyes drooping down in annoyance as she heard that from her sister. She knew what Carlisle said, she didn’t have to repeat it, especially in that tone of voice. Without saying anything, so another argument wouldn’t start, Cassandra just left the area at the top of the stars and made her way towards her room, limping just a bit as she made her way there. Carlisle was right, it was literally a pain walking.

Getting to her room, Cassandra locked the door behind her. The last thing she wanted was her sister to find out just where she was and what the hell she was doing. Looking around her room, she noticed that her bed was done and figured that it was probably her sister since Cassandra never took the time to ever do it. Her clothes were placed in a basket where the laundry would be done and her guitar was leaning against the wall in her closet. Walking over, she closed it, out of view from her sight. Her crutches were on the side of the bed, one on the ground and the other one still barely leaning on the bed. Shrugging, Cassandra made her way to her drawer and pulled out a black hard cover note book that had gold lettering in the front that spelled her full name out and ‘journal.’ Looking back over her door and staying quiet, she could hear her sister open and close a door very faintly. She figured it was her home office door. Smiling, Cassandra knew that Annissa wouldn’t be out until well into the night when Cassandra would actually be asleep. Slowly going to her window, she felt a cold breeze hit her face quickly. “Forgot its still around winter weather here.” Leaning over and getting a sweater, she placed it on, and placed the journal into the large pocket of the sweater. Taking a hold of the branch that was close to her, she climbed out of the room slowly, and up the tree that was planted right in front of one of her windows. She was thankful for the giant tree; it was the only way she could sneak in and out of the house with out her sister hearing. It took her longer than usually to get to the roof and settle herself down in the indent where there was suppose to be a chimney but was taken out by the previous owners. Now it was just a small ditched covered up with solid bricks and tiles. It was the perfect place for someone to sit and look up at the sky, the clear sky that showed the stars. Once she was perfectly comfortable, Cassandra opened her journal about three fourths into the book, and looked at the last date that she had written in it. It was the night that she figured out what Edward was. She had written notes all over the book about the whole thing. Another cool breeze was the only thing that knocked her out of her frozen state of mind and back into reality.

Even though her hands were freezing from being outside, Cassandra couldn’t help but continue to write all that she thought and all that had happened in the past week. It seemed like more information that she could even put into words. She was in the middle of writing Edward’s name when she noticed a car pass by their street and got distracted. She wasn’t sure why. But it caused her to look away from the page and down. Sighing, Cassandra leaned her back against the roof and started up at the sky. A small smile came on her lips as a warm feeling was starting to rush down her spine even though it was literally an arctic chill up on the roof.

EDWARDCULLENAfter Carlisle walked out of the hospital room in which Casey and Annissa were. He wasn’t very far down the hall when Annissa began calling him. He turned around and walked the short distance back to wear she was standing. “Yes, Annissa? How may I help you?” He said before she spoke again. He smiled just the smallest bit. “I will talk with Esme.” Carlisle said and he heard Casey in the room trying not to laugh. Carlisle just nodded towards Annissa and started to walk back down the hall towards his office. He saw the smile from Casey before the two sisters left. He thought about Annissa’s invitation. It wasn’t the first time she had asked them to dinner, and usually Carlisle and Esme would come up with some other way to get out of it. But should it be different with Casey’s family? This time Carlisle would actually do what he said he would. He would talk to Esme about it, and probably Edward as well. Speaking of Edward though, he should probably call him back. Carlisle walked down the halls of the hospital back towards his office. Once he was there he took out his phone and called Edward back. After one ring he answered. “Carlisle?” He asked when he had answered the phone. “What’s wrong? I was with a patient so I couldn’t answer it.” Carlisle said as he sat down at his desk to do some paperwork. It was almost time for him to get off, unless some emergency happens then Casey was his last patient of the day. “You saw Casey today didn’t you?” Edward said over the phone. Well it seemed that Edward already knew that Casey had been to the hospital. “Yes I did. What about it?” Carlisle said as he stood up from his desk. He shrugged out of his lab jacket and hung it up on a hook that was on the wall. “Is there something wrong?” Edward said and Carlisle could hear the worry in his voice. “Can we talk about this later.” Carlisle said as he started putting on his own jacket. After a few moments Edward agreed to talk to him when he got home and the two got off the phone. Carlisle told the nurse to call him if anything came up and then he walked out to the parking lot and got into his Mercedes and drove off towards the Cullen’s house.

EDWARDCULLENAfter Edward had gotten off the phone with Carlisle he sat at his piano once again, though this time he didn't play. He picked up a new book that he hadn't read yet and he started reading over it. Not long after he had he had started reading he let his mind wonder to other things. He thought about what could possibly be wrong with Casey. He knew she had to have gone to the doctor about her hand, hadn't Annissa said that? He was still curious though, and he had wondered why Carlisle did answer his question while they were talking on the phone. He guessed that Carlisle was in a hurry since he seemed like he couldn’t talk at the moment. He could hear Carlisle now, as well as the car pull onto the drive towards the house. He put the book down on the part of the bench that he wasn't sitting on and he looked over at the door. He stood up and walked over to the door. For a moment he just stood next to it while he waited for Carlisle to walk into the house. He guessed that now was later, and he really wanted to know what was wrong. It actually wasn’t on Carlisle mind at the moment. He was thinking about some dinner date that someone had invited him and Esme to. When Carlisle walked into the room he ignored Edward and walked over to Esme who was still sitting on the couch watching an odd show on the television. He and Esme started to discuss having dinner with Annissa. Carlisle’s reason behind not automatically coming up with some excuse was that if Edward was going to have anything to do with Casey then it was best not to make Annissa—her sister as well as he caretaker—upset with their family. Though Edward doubted if they came up with a well thought excuse then she couldn’t get mad at them and they will get out of having to eat that horrible tasting human food. Really Edward had eaten it a couple of times, only when he had no choice not to and if there was any way to get out of having to eat it, Edward would find it. He sat back down at his piano and played a couple of songs while he waited for Carlisle and Esme to finish their conversation.

EDWARDCULLENAfter Carlisle and Esme had finished talking Edward got up from the piano and followed Carlisle up to his office. “Was there something wrong?” Edward said as he stood in the doorway while Carlisle sat down at his desk doing more work. Really sometimes Edward wondered why he even came home from work if he was just going to do more of it when he got home. Carlisle wasn’t paying much attention to Edward. “About what?” Carlisle said not looking up at him. Edward sighed and walked into the room shutting the door behind him. He sat down in the spare chair in the room. “Casey.” Edward said and Carlisle’s thought went to Casey’s voice saying ‘Don’t let Edward know about any of this, please’. That was all Edward got before Carlisle thought about something else. “What’s the point in not telling me? I am going to find out someway.” Edward said as he looked over at Carlisle. “If you find out on your own it’s not my fault. Though if I tell you it is my fault you know.” Carlisle said with a bit of a laugh in his voice, though at the moment Edward knew what it was. Carlisle started to think about it, he wasn’t as good at hiding things from Edward as Alice was. Edward sighed and looked around the room. “How could she have dislocated her ankle?” Edward asked as he stood up. Carlisle just shook his head. “I don’t know, son. They just told me what was wrong” Edward opened the door, but then he turned back towards Carlisle. “I am going to my room. I think I may go to her house later, to talk to her.” Edward said and before he closed the door he could hear Carlisle “Do as you wish, but be careful.” Edward knew what Carlisle was warning him about. He warned him about more than one thing. Edward knew that he warned him about actually being almost alone with Casey.

EDWARDCULLENSighing as he pulled on his jacket Edward walked over towards the glass wall of his room. He opened the sliding door and he let himself fall to the ground below. He guessed that Rosalie would be less likely to know that he was leaving if he didn’t leave through the front door and if he ran instead of taking a car. Though he really did not know why he thought he had to sneak around her, like he was a rebel teenager and she was his mother. He guessed that it wasn’t going to be very long before Rosalie knew anyway; odd going through all this trouble to keep her from knowing what was up. Though when he was standing in the back yard he listened for Rosalie’s thoughts and she didn’t think anything of him. She was too wrapped up with looking through a magazine about some new clothes that were supposed to be coming to a store in Seattle soon. Edward was relieved that it wasn’t raining at the moment. He knew it probably wasn’t the best time, but he wanted to talk to Casey. So Edward started to run towards Casey’s house. It was going to be easier running tonight. It was dark and it was actually rather cold, from a human’s perspective. So probably won’t be any humans in the woods that he would have to worry about seeing him, even though it was highly likely they would be able to see him in the first place. It didn’t take him very long at all to get to Casey’s house. Soon he noticed that he could smell her scent better than he should have been able to considering the distance away from her house and that she was actually inside which would also make her scent harder to smell. It didn’t take him very long to find out that she was actually on the roof. He wondered first off what she was doing sitting up there, and secondly how she had gotten up there in the first place, especially since she had a dislocated ankle. He could see here sitting with some sort of book in her hand and she was writing in it, he wasn’t exactly sure what it was. Once Edward was in her front yard he didn’t stop running. He had a smile on his face. He ran around her house and stopped when he stood at the back wall of the house. He took a couple of large steps back and then he ran again and he half climbed, half ran up the side of her house. He was now standing on the roof and her back was towards him. With a smile on his face he moved quietly over to Casey. “What are you doing up here?” Edward asked as he let his hand rest on her shoulder. Soon after he spoke he sank down so now he was sitting cross legged next to her on the roof. He could feel the warmth from her body around him. “It’s rather cool out here, don’t you think?” Edward said as he looked around for a moment. He could smell a hint of a wolf around, but it was faint. It also didn’t smell much like Jaiden so Edward didn’t think much about it, he just allowed himself to enjoy the time he now had with Casey, no matter how short it may end up being.

. . . . .

XXXXXXXXXXXXCassandra never thought about it all, but being here in Forks had really changed her. Had really calmed her down actually. Her life was so fast passed in California that she would never be able to catch the time and just simply watch it pass by day by day. Looking back down at her journal, she saw the empty lines and the last word she had written down before she was distracted. Scanning over his name, her mind started to go blank until a cool wind brushed against her. A small shiver ran down her as she knew that she should head back inside so she wouldn’t get sick. But it as so peaceful out here. And even though it was the same inside since her sister was working in her private room, it wasn’t all the same. There was just something about the dark sky, and the stars twinkling in the distance that made her want to just reach out and be part of them. But she held her hands back in front of her, writing down just what she was thinking in her own personal journal. Pausing for a minute as she was trying to decide a word to put in the sentence, she sat up right and just listened for a moment if she could hear any movement coming from her house. It was harder than she thought because of the noise the outside world was making to figure out if her sister had gotten out of the room or not. But seeing that she didn’t hear her own door room open or bang against to open it, Cassandra figured that she was still safe where she was. Leaning her back against the roof top, Cassandra bent in both of her knees so that she could place her journal against it. Unclicking her pen, she stuffed it into her pocket and started to flip through the pages. There was so much written in it and it seemed like she had just started this journal a week before she came to Forks. She skimmed through it in the dark night, realizing just how quiet it really was.

XXXXXXXXXXXXAnd it was really quiet indeed. Cassandra really would have never thought that someone would be joining here up on the roof. It would be completely bizarre, so the fact that even Edward would be there right behind her was out of the picture. But that very thing had actually happened. She was so caught up in her own thoughts as always that she hadn't even heard a single noise come from behind her until the voice suddenly came ringing into her ears, completely startling here from head to toe. The shock of it all made her quickly turn around to notice that it was Edward. The voice was familiar of course, and any other time she would be able to pick it out instantly, but this was just one of those rare moments that someone had completely caught her off guard. It wasn't fair either. Cassandra was must vulnerable when she was caught off guard, but so were most people. And if it wasn't for the hand that Edward placed on her shoulder, Cassandra was sure that the jolt of shock that went through her would have made her jump and probably slide over and down the roof, which of course wasn't safe at all. Then again, just being on top of the roof at a late hour when everyone else was safe instead probably wasn't the best way to go either. But the last thing she ever did was something safe, right? Just go ahead and ask any one that really knows her. Edward was sure to agree with that statement for sure. Jaiden as well. It took her a good minute to stare at Edward and watch him sit down next to her to realize that he was actually there. Or actually just few a few words out of her mouth so it didn't seem like he had completely stunned her to paralyzing. Because the last thing she wanted to do was wake up from whatever dream she was having to find herself really in her bed with a longing feeling to head to school so quickly.

XXXXXXXXXXXX"Edward..." Cassandra's voice was a soft whisper as she continued to look at him to make sure he was actually here. His hand on her shoulder had seemed real enough, and so was his voice, and that feeling that she was starting to get in her stomach. It had to be real. A faint smile came on her lips as she looked away though for a moment. Taking in the fact that she was sitting on the roof in his mind was probably crazy, but the fact that he was actually right there next to her made it bizarre for her as well. "You know, I can ask you the same thing. I thought people were suppose to ring the door bell when they were visiting someone? At least I was sure that was how things were done the last time someone came to visit me. Or is it just all mixed up around here?" A faint grin was on Cassandra's lips as she glanced over at Edward from the corner of her eyes. It was strange to her how people didn't really ring the door bell here, or not when Jaiden came to visit, or any of his pack members the least. It was like they had their own key to the house that her sister had given them. Noah and Jaiden sure, but sometimes seeing everyone in the house was kind of surprising. There was a cool sensation that was coming form Edward but at the same time she could feel something inside of her burning up from being just this close to him. It had been a good set amount of hours that they were separated from each other but it seemed like they hadn't seen each other in days. The longing feeling that was inside her already for wanting to see Edward had seemed to just want to now pull Edward in closer to her as always. But she held herself back. She wasn't quiet sure where it was that the two of them stood. They had never really had the chance to talk about anything that had happened since they both thought it was too soon to do so, and it was just the wrong time as well.

XXXXXXXXXXXXThe smile on her lips held on the whole time as she sat there in silence for a moment, knowing that it was cold out but there wasn't much she could do about it. "Yeah, but its nothing that I can't ignore. My mind wonders off to other things to keep me distracted from the cold." And it was a strong distraction as well. Her mind and body were separated whenever she wanted them to be so there was no signal her body could give her brain that she was cold. Or sometimes, even in pain. But that was rare. "It's easier for me to concentrate outside in the quiet." Cassandra patted her journal once with her index finger before closing it and facing it flat down against her lap where only the back side of the journal was facing her. She knew that if she faced the front side of the black journal, Edward would probably read the full name. Her full name, and she was sure he would ask questions on it. The last thing she needed right now was Edward figuring out that she was lying about her last name as well. He was able to figure out that her first name was Cassandra, and other thing as well that she hadn't told anyone. Maybe it was one of those things that every vampire was able to do? Find out everything and anything they wanted? It was still unbelievable to her, but her reason to even believe any of it to start with was Edward himself being right next to her, defying all questions asked. She smiled gently at the thought, -- at him. Cassandra couldn't help herself in doing so. The two of them were finally alone and she had no reason in holding back besides the fact of respecting Edward's wishes - which was the only reason that she was actually holding back any bit. He really was the only boy that had ever made her feel this way, every made her do things she wouldn't normally do. And yet, he wasn't even human.

XXXXXXXXXXXXHer smile faltered just a bit as she thought about what she was going to say next to him when she realized that the silence was stretching out to long. There was a lot she wanted to ask him, it was just when the right time was that was holding her back. "You know, you caught me off guard..." She might as well mention it before he did himself, because she was sure it was some pay back from the time that she had scared him in his own car. The image of him then just made her smile again, holding a laugh back just a bit as she thought about it. "But you never really came to visit me at my house..." He really hadn't, and the only time he probably did come in her own knowledge was when he had dropped of the phone the first week of her school here. "What makes today different? Not that I mind or anything, your always invited to come whenever you want." Which he was. Cassandra couldn't be more than happy that Edward would show up more often at her place to visit her since he already knew where it was. It was just surprising to her that he was here, at this hour. Her smile weaken just a bit as she was just slightly unsure why he was here and hopped for the better. However something just occurred to her then. She knew the way she came up on the roof was from the tree, and she was sure that Edward hadn't taken that route other wise she would have seen him. "How did you get up here? I'm sure that there only one tree and I would have seen you if you took it..." It was perplexing to her to even think about. "You didn't like scale up the side or something did you?" A small laugh came out of her but then she thought about it and all the other things Edward was able to. "Wait, did you?"
