Welcome to Gaia! ::

Charlotte didn't reply to Charnel, knowing that he'd want to talk to bane first. She listened to their exchange, only giving Lillith a warning glance at the mention of the rumor. When Keith spoke, she turned to face him, merely raising an eyebrow at his apology. She could tell he was still angry, merely holding it back for diplomacy. At the mention of the dragon, she glanced up at Charnel.
"A dragon, eh? I think we can handle that should he choose to fight us at first," she said before her gaze moved back to Keith. "War and Death work well together."

Charnel waved off Keith's apology with one hand and a smile.

"Sir knight, I cannot blame you for your reaction. If I were still human, I have no doubt I would have reacted in much the same way. In this particular event to come, I wouldn't mind being on your side either. You seem competent, and I'm fairly certain that, if properly provoked, you could reap your share of death on the battlefield. I respect that."

However, any mirth died at Charlotte's next words. He blanched visibly, and whipped his head around to stare at her as though she had grown a second head.

"I think not! Against a normal dragon, we might have a chance by ourselves, but this is a holdout from the Eden era. The only thing that could take that beast down would be a very organized, very large, and very, very well equipped army. Even Death doesn't bother Dragons; there's a reason for that, you know. Most people claim that Dragons are immortal, but the truth is that Death is too afraid to take them without another weakening them first... And if the man in charge cannot do it, what chance does two Aspects have? Diplomacy is our only hope; if he gets angry, only speed or magic will save our lives..."

He paused, and a faint smirk crept across his face as he turned to face Bane again.

"However, our chances at diplomacy are greatly enhanced as long as Bane is willing to facilitate our rendezvous. Music soothes the savage heart, does it not?"
Charlotte rolled her eyes at Charnel's panic.
"War HAS killed dragons before, Charnel, though I have no intention of trying to kill this one. Who do you think weakens them for Death?"
She sighed and shook her head.
"I've studied dragons, Charnel, and I've studied those from the Eden Era. I'm not worried. Besides, like you said, we have Sir Keith and Bane. I doubt a fight will be needed."
She turned to Keith and nodded at the knight, motioning to the door.
"Lead on, Knight. Your small army will follow," she smirked a bit. They could hardly be called an army and they certainly weren't under his command.

"Unless you want to travel in the hours of the night..." Bane broaches as he approaches the group. "... I suggest we get a good nights rest, then take the morning to pack the necessary Items needed..."

Keith nods to Bane once in agreement. "I agree, this trip is no short one, we'll be out for a day or so, we need to pack rations and other Items..."

Bane lifts a hand, only showing his index finger pointing to the air. "However, we need no tents, if my assumption is correct, We'll be going through some of the home tree patches, correct?"

"That's correct, we'll be passing trough a patch of Home trees after a days hike through these woods. but we do need food, and kindling, as well as flint, I can use my sword to start a fire with." Speaks the knight as he notes the sword at his side.

After hearing charloette's words about the Eden dragons, the bard king approaches her and places a gentle hand on her shoulder. "I'm afraid that is where your gravely mistaken about THIS dragon. Remember, he is the last of his kind, thus the strongest. If he was as weak as you predict, how did he live this long? Especially after going through two aspects?" his hand slips off and lands back at his own side with a slight disappointment look on his face. "You may have studied dragons girl, but it does not mean that your the expert. You may have studied the Eden Era, but no-one really knows of that time, other than those that lived it. Angar in this case."

Keeping his mind on the current agenda, the knight simply looks around and notes a bunch of keys on a wall behind the bar of this Inn. "Here we are! We can rest here, since the barkeep seems to have been slain, I'm sure we'll be fine in using their rooms for one night." speaking as the knight approaches the bar, looking back to the rest of the group. "What says you all? I suggest we rest up before we take onto our travels."

Charnel sighed at Charlotte's words; he understood the reasoning behind them, and the rush of "Invulnerability" it brought. It was easy to feel you could take on the world when Death had chosen you to be lieutenant; the fact remained though, that they were decidedly not invulnerable, and Charnel knew all too well the effect that dragonfire had on flesh. The magic in the dragon's breath stopped Charnel's regeneration, leaving him as defenseless as any other human. Charnel also listened to Bane's words, thought for a moment, then shook his head slightly. The prospect of staying anywhere near the group while he was in this unpredictable state didn't appeal to him in the least. While he would no doubt survive, he didn't want to take the chance of accidentally slaughtering his newfound allies. He also didn't sleep, but he could pretend which was almost as good.

"I am sorry Bane, but I am obliged to refuse your offer. I'm sure you would all feel safer without me about during the night, and I assure you all will sleep better for it. Even when I don't intend it, eerie things happen around me. I can't turn it off, and it always affects those nearby, stalwart or not. However, rest assured that I will join you at first light, and I hope our journey will be successful. However, I will remain here if there is any further planning to be done. What do you say, Charlotte?"
It took a moment for Marcello to speak, eyes firmly planted on Lillith as he waited for her to notice his hand.

He would have to admit however that he did agree with the young bard and oddly enough the usually confusing aspect of death. The dragon would not be easy. If they went at it with combat. He would hope they could approach the problem peacefully. Cello wondered if only for a moment if on the way he could perhaps ask some of the nymphs in the area for help. Perhaps some sort of calming mist.

"Are you sure thats legal...?" He uttered, looking to the knight through one eye. His back was arched ever so slightly, his arm still reaching out to help the girl but he had corrected his posture to some degree as to not look ridiculous.

"If you're sure." Marcello continued, looking a little unsure as he continued to watch Charnal. He had to wonder what the guy meant. Though he doubted he would really ever learn.
Charlotte rolled her eyes at Bane's words, pushing his hand off her shoulder.
"I was not calling him weak, I was saying you are over-exaggerating you damned worry. Or did you not hear everything I said? It's not always strength that keeps a dragon alive; it's fear. People fear dragons, thus they do not challenge them. I am not saying this is the case with Angar and I am not denying he is powerful, I am merely saying your fear of him will do us no good. Fear will get you manipulated and slaughtered like cattle. I'm not going into this prepared for battle, I'm going into the dragon's cave prepared for diplomacy. War isn't always a violent fight."
She frowned then, moving out of the group and to the door.
"And my name is Charlotte. You would not call Charnel "boy", do not disrespect me like that if you want my alliance," she warned, though she didn't pull any threatening things she could've.
Upon Charnel's words, Charlotte merely nodded in agreement with him. She no longer liked any of the group they suddenly had allied with, though she still had a moderate interest in Marcello. She glanced at him and shook her head to answer his question. It wasn't exactly legal to just, but there was no one to object anyway.
"I already rested and that was only because I had used too much power," she said, moving to the door. "Let's go then, Charnel. I do not think we are needed here further for tonight."

Bane hung his head lightly as he was shown that he was gravely mistaken. "My apologies Charloette, please forgive me as my memory can be a bit, sparse at times. I'm not generally good with names when confronted, or even corrected as you so done. Again, my apologies." Bane's words were full of guilt, of remorse. Indeed he didn't mean for such harsh reaction of words to be implemented towards him. Afterward, the bard king simply makes his way to the bar, away from the rest of the group as he simply grabs a key from the wall, and heads straight out of the room, getting into the room that went with the key.

The knight scowled slightly, looking to the aspect's companion with slight disgust, but shrugged it off rather quickly as he looks to the Nymph. "Marcello, you can join us if you wish, or simply grab a key from the wall. The room that brother Bane picked out is one of the larger rooms that can fit the rest of us..." With that, Keith leaves to follow and console with the bard.

Charnel nodded in reply to Charlotte's words, recognizing the validity in them, particularly about the infamous dragonic fear factor and her respectful appreciation of Angar's strength. He was especially impressed by her assertion that war wasn't always violent; he recalled well, as many did, the "Ice War" between two islands, where both menaced one another but neither attacked, eventually leading to a peaceful resolution. Sometimes, not backing down was the key to staying alive, and Charnel grinned broadly at Charlotte's wise words. Her response to Bane was a tad harsh, but not unwarranted; she had the right to be known, and he wouldn't hinder her from her ambitions. However, he felt the air of disappointment and sadness from Bane, and spoke quietly into his mind.

Don't worry Bane, she's just edgy, what with the whole "Pet" nonsense. She's understandably tender about her name, as she's even snapped at me about it. Don't take it personally; she's just frustrated at the moment. She's a proud woman, and being demeaned in her new state is highly offensive to her. Rest easy, Bard King; we shall meet again at dawn.

With that, he started out the door with Charlotte. As much as he wanted to stick around, he suspected that the Bard King wouldn't be playing anymore songs that night, so it was probably best for Charnel to be a good ways away, just in case that Thing came back. He turned to Charlotte with a smile as they exited.

"You handled that very well, I must say. You really are good at this; War has to have wisdom and negotiation, and you seem posessed of both in ample quantities. Color me impressed."

He continued to grin; his new partner really was a wonder.
Glanced back at Bane before she exited, listening to his apology with a blank expression. She waved it off, knowing Bane hadn't insulted her on purpose. That was just not how the Bard King worked.
She left with Charnel at her side, though she didn't know where they planned to go. She was about to ask when he spoke up, complimenting her despite the harshness of her words to Bane. She smirked and nodded.
"Thank you, Charnel. I assure you, I do not plan on being a disappointment to you or War himself. I have studied wars and the like so much, I'm surprised I'm not more of a war-monger myself."
She shrugged before sighing. She wasn't much looking forward to the adventure ahead of them, especially not traveling with slow-moving humans.
"And what exactly are we going to do while we wait for them to rest up?"

Charnel gave her a toothy grin, and nodded.

"Thank you for acting with tact and intellect instead of violence. While it would have been satisfying, I think War shall be more pleased with this: It may yet lead to a larger conflict, which would make your Patron quite pleased."

Charnel shuddered in anticipation as his thoughts went to the dragon again.

"You must forgive my anticipation: I've met dragons before, but never an Eden era dragon! They are supposed to be utterly magnificent, and I can't wait to meet him... Dragon's know the best old legends..."

He continued to walk by her side, and stretched. He wasn't sure what to do with their down time, but a thought crawled across his mind, and a grin followed it.

"Hey, do you know the game Monobolt? We should find some hicks that don't know us and play with them! It's sort of like a death game: You get a cylinder crossbow, and you take out all the bolts but one, and spin the chamber. Then you put it under your chin and pull the trigger! Whoever eats it loses. Curious?"
[I apologize if this sounds rude or odd but does any one here know how to get in contact with the person who writes for Lillith?]

((I was wondering about that... You think we scared her off? *Looks down at the bloody mangled corpses strewn before him and his gore soaked claws, then grins toothily* Nawww...))
