A look of displeasure showed on the Noble’s face as he turned an angry gaze toward the slave. There were certain things he did not stand for. Women turning him down, people stepping out of line, and most importantly slaves not remembering their places. “May’riina,” he said in a breathy voice, “Do kind to teach your pet to curb his tongue…and not speak directly to me. That is unless you rather I teach him the lesson.” A devilish grin spread across his face, his eyebrows knitting together in look that said he was more eager to do such a thing.
May’riina put an arm up, placing it between her father and Shurvayas. Her eyes were as cold as possible, and yet somehow warmth still laid in the darkness. Her lips parted for a moment, no sound coming out. She was stuck, not sure which way to go exactly. But then her mind snapped too, and May’riina cleared her throat. “He is my responsibility now Father,” she said in a rather elegant and high up tone. “So I will re-teach him the lesson on etiquette.”
He stopped leering towards the boy, that devilish smirk still holding its place. Then stepping back inside his room the man winked at his daughter. “I know just what you mean,” he said in a throaty growl. “Now I need to punish my chamber maids so do kind to go play with your pet…and I better not hear that you give her any trouble boy.” With a swift hand he slammed the door, leaving the two in the hall.
May’riina’s eyes widened, hearing squeals and giggle from the other side. Her lips trembled in slight for a moment, a look of fear appearing on her face. “The first day I met him…I was half asleep and crying because this place frightened me so…” Her head turned slowly, and shifting her gaze onto him May’riina went on to say. “I can see it was not just the place…it was him…” She stepped forward, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and bringing Shurvayas into a warm and tender embrace. Her voice dropped to a purr as she spoke in his ear, “You must tell me of this place…I can not risk slipping up even once.”
