The small Eevee trembled in his bleeding arms as the assistants rushed over to him. "Come on, we need to get you both to the pokemon center." One of them told him, but he was only half listening. He couldn't see straight and the world spun before he collapsed. Working quickly they got him onto a stretcher and rushed him to the pokemon center.
He woke about an hour later to an irritated hiss like growl. He tried to sit up only to realize that something was sitting on his chest making it hard to breathe. Opening his eyes he was surprised to see the Eevee he had grabbed puffed up and snarling at anyone who came near them. "Hey..." He groaned softly to it. "Calm down." He replied wrapping his arm around the creature as he sat up.
"You have a fine pokemon there." One of the doctors smiled. "A male, very stubborn but healthy. We had to sedate him to treat his wounds. But both of you will be just fine." the doctor added with a shake of his head.
Leon nodded to that and looked down at the Eevee who continued to hiss and growl at the doctor. Picking him up he held the creature under it's front legs and turned it to face him. The Eevee struggled in his grasp still trying to look at the doctor. "Knock it off." he told his new pokemon, tapping it on the nose with his finger. The Eevee turned to look at him still growling lowly. "That's enough out of you. He's not going to hurt either of us. So quit." leon told him before picking him up once more. The Eevee squirmed out of his arms to drape it's self around his shoulders as he stood. Leon smiled warmly up at the Eevee draped around his shoulders as the doctor began to speak again.
"The professor is in the lobby with the other successful canidates. we told him that you were still unconscious so he's waiting for you before starting the ceremony." the doctor explained leading him from the room and towards the large pokemon center lobby.
Leon looked around as he stepped into the room and his eyes widened in disbelief. He had heard the stories about how bad the challenge could be, but he hadn't expected this.
