Having survived the troubles of the previous day, the various inhabitants of the castle have each woken up to a rather troublesome situation. Rei has woken to find herself still alone and lacking in proper clothing, but thankfully the captain of the guard, Jake, while informing her of the punishment of the guards she had been beaten by, was kind enough to call for the servant who had put them away. Once Rei had dressed herself, she and Jake went off to Tyki's room in order to find Damien.
However, there was some excitement going on within the eldest Favorite's room. His older brother, Niko, had slept in Tyki's own bedroom and awoke to find a young servant girl sleeping beneath the bed. His shouts awoke Tyki, and the younger brother simply ignored Niko's ranting in favor of dressing and showering. Damien, in the meantime, was simply getting ready for the new day, and Eliza, like Tyki, preferred to ready herself for the new day the moment Tyki had finished.
In another wing of the castle, The King's personal slave, Lucrecia, had awoken to find Vincent in her bed, dressed only in his boxers, and upon seeing this she freaked out and whacked the king with her pillow, or did some similar action. Meanwhile, the King's Adviser was still sleeping while the young boy he had spent the night with began to make him breakfast.
And in yet another part of the castle, a young boy and his mother were being inspected and would soon be taken up to King Vincent for reasons only known to the mother...

(( Ok, I'm here. Can't exactly remember the last thing I wrote word for word, all I know was Lucrecia woke up, freaked out, and screamed at Vincent, "WHY THE HECK ARE YOU IN MY BED?!" and all that fun stuff. >.<; ))

((Hinting at my new OC's intro post thar at the end.))
(( Is Vincent having another kid? o.o;;
That'll be a little awkward for Lucrecia.... -.-;;;
Anywho she didn't whack him when she woke up, that was the previous night. ))
((Oh, well, there was whacking involved, so I was close enough. And the kid's not Vincent's. He's the son of a nobleman who betrayed Vincent and so Vincent took the guy's wife and kid out of revenge. Or was going to when the kid was like seven years old, but he and his mom went into hiding and they were only caught just recently. So Asian gets to decide what to do with them.))
(( Oooooooh, okay. xD ))

Kyle Lockend

A strong force prevented him from moving. He opened his eyes, but all he could see was the back of the bench he was lying on. He could feel movement; it felt like they were riding on a train. He could hear voices; one was his mother's. He held still for a moment, trying to listen. She was pleading with someone, he couldn't hear what she was asking, but he knew it involved him. He looked to see why he couldn't move - his arms were crossed over his chest and tied down, his legs were tied together at the ankles, and there was a collar on his neck that attached him to the arm of the bench. There was also a gag in his mouth and a man sitting on the bench with him - he was the one keeping him pushed up against the back of the bench. He closed his eyes and tried to listen again.
"Please, I know the King wanted revenge on my husband, but he can't take it out on my son. He can't help who his father is," she said, her voice betraying her fear and worry.
"Lord Lockend's actions cheated King Vincent out of the service he deserved. Because he failed to render the services expected of him, he can only compensate by giving the life and service of this boy. You knew that from the day the deal was made."
"The deal was made without my son's consent! Please, I'll take his place, I'll do anything, just let Kyle go!"
Kyle winced. He didn't want his mom to sacrifice herself for him. He let out a whimper, trying to get someone to notice that he was awake, but all it earned him was a blow to the head. "Quiet, boy." The voice that spoke to him returned to speaking with his mother. "There can be no trade. This boy is worth more than you, there is no doubt about that. Your husband is dead, he can't repay the King the way he was supposed to."
"What...? How... when...?" he heard his mother ask weakly, and the same questions were running through Kyle's own mind. His father was dead?
"When he refused to give you to us seven years ago, claiming that you both had died of an incurable disease. There was an interrogation at your husband's estate, and he was killed, most unfortunately. The estate will be returned to you and your son as is required by law, but because you defied the King by hiding this child from him, you will not be alive to enjoy it for long."
Kyle let out a muffled scream, trying desperately to be given the chance to speak. Finally, the man on the bench stood, pushed him onto his back, pulled the gag out and said, "You have two minutes."
Kyle nodded and spoke quickly. "You're not really going to kill her, are you?" he asked.
"The only reason we wouldn't is if we could profit from her staying alive," the man replied.
"Then... Mom, can't you give up the estate? There's nothing there for you anymore, is there?"
                                                "Kyle... I can't do that, it's your father's land-"
"It's our land now, mom, dad's gone and what good would it do for us to keep it if you're dead and I'm stuck in the castle?" he pointed out. "And what about me? I don't want to lose you," he said, tears gathering in his eyes.
She looked at him for a moment, then lowered her gaze to the floor. "Fine... if you spare my life, I will give the estate to the King."
The man grinned. "A wise decision, miss. The King will be pleased to have two new toys to play with."
"Wait, toys?" Kyle asked. "What do you mean by thamph!?" His words were cut off as he was gagged once more, and he stared wide-eyed at his mother, hoping she would explain what the man meant, but she was silent. He couldn't help it at that point. He had a panic attack.
They stayed on that train through the next day and night, and near the end Kyle was untied and given some food and water, which he accepted gratefully. Finally, the train came to a stop and they were transferred to a carriage, which took them to an enormous castle that Kyle had only seen once before, many years ago. He stared at it with wide eyes until their guards forced them out of the carriage and in through the front gate. He held still while a different guard patted him down, apparently checking him for weapons even though he'd already been checked, then nodded and had some servants bring him and his mother up to the main building, through the massive front hall and up some stairs, then through a garden and into yet another room, where he and his mother were separated by a large curtain. He stared nervously at the man standing in front of him, who seemed to be a doctor of some kind.
                                                "Name?"
"Kyle Lockend," Kyle said nervously as the doctor pushed his chin up to get a better look at his face.
"And you're around nine or ten years old, I presume?"
"Fourteen," Kyle growled. Everyone always thought he was younger than he was - he took after his mother, who had been twenty-four at the time of Kyle's birth but had only looked sixteen. The advantage, he supposed, was that because his body's development was slower, he would live longer, the same as his mother's father, and his mother, and her father, and his father, and so on and so forth.
"Are you being honest with me?"
                                                "YES."
The doctor frowned, then said, "Very well. Take off your clothing, I need to examine you."
"Even my underwear?" Kyle asked with a frown.
"At some point, yes, but you may leave it on for now if you are uncomfortable."
Kyle nodded and stripped down to his boxers, then sat back down and put up with the uncomfortable poking and prodding that came with getting a physical exam. The worst was when the doctor had to check his privates, but he closed his eyes and thought of other things, and he soon made it through and pulled his boxers back on with relief.
"All right, you weigh too little for your current stage of development, but generally healthy and in excellent shape otherwise. Your slower growth is genetic, is it not?"
Kyle nodded. "It comes from my mom's side of the family."
"And there have been no medical complications because of it?"
"No, my body just doesn't grow as fast," Kyle said.
"I see. Take your underwear off again and go into the next room. Leave your clothes here, you will not need them anymore."
Kyle wasn't sure what that meant, but there was a scary-looking guard in the room, so he decided not to question this man's authority. He walked into the next room, where - to his horror - two young women were waiting for him next to an almost-full tub of water. They smiled at him and one said, "It's time to make you presentable for the King," before taking him by the arm and making him get in the tub. He knew what had to be done from here, which was why he was so mortified and angry when the two girls began the task of scrubbing him themselves. "You're absolutely filthy," the other one commented. "Good thing there's two of us, otherwise it would take hours to get you ready."
"Why can't I just do this myself?" Kyle asked irritably as the first pulled his head back so that his hair was soaked in the water and poured some shampoo onto his scalp.
"Because you don't have the experience to finish the job quickly," the first girl explained, rubbing gently but firmly at his scalp. "And you ought to get used to being handled, if you're going to be expected by King Vincent himself you might be in for some much more embarrassing experiences."
"Like what?" he asked as water was poured over his medium-length brown hair.
"Well... do you know where babies come from?"
"Yeah, a guy gets a girl pregnant and- Wait a minute, I thought the King liked women!"
"He enjoys both," the second girl said. "And he may decide you're too young for him, who knows? But if you were brought here as a punishment, you'll probably have to do things you don't want to do."
Kyle sighed. He had been forced to live in hiding for seven years in order to avoid this, and it was all for nothing. He was silent as the two girls helped him out of the tub, dried him off, then wrapped towels around his waist and hair. They then sat him down and each took one of his hands in order to trim his nails and fix up his cuticles. He stared at the ceiling while they did this and moved on to his feet, then one pulled the towel away from his hair and placed it around his neck, followed by a larger tarp, while the other rummaged in a drawer and pulled out a pair of scissors. "Wait... you're going to cut my hair?" he asked, beginning to sound panicked. He liked his hair, he hadn't had it cut short enough to expose his neck since he was a little kid.
"We're not going to cut it short, we're just going to make it look nice," they reassured him, but he didn't trust their promise until they had finished and it looked much the same as before, except nicer and more even. Then, they got rid of any stray hairs that had landed on his body, and ushered him into yet another room. He was forced to endure a lot of measuring before one of the girls disappeared into a large closet and reappeared with an outfit that Kyle had never seen the likes of before. He wasn't given any underwear, which was absolutely mortifying because the thing that looked like a funky one-piece bathing suit he was given next was tight enough to show off everything beneath. It cut off right at his knees at the bottom, but the sleeves went down to Kyle's wrists and his neck was covered as well. Once the suit was completely on, he was given a pair of light blue shorts that were made of something soft - he guessed silk or something close - that cut off halfway down his thighs. Next, he put on a gray short-sleeved shirt of the same material that only went halfway down his stomach. At first he thought it was too small, but then he realized it was actually loose on him. Finally, he was given sandals with straps that went a few inches up his ankles, and he looked in horror at the mirror for a moment. The undergarment might have covered most of his body, but it didn't prevent him from feeling incredibly exposed, it formed to his curves so well. It also had the unfortunate attribute of not really feeling like it was there.
"Oh, you look absolutely adorable!" one of the girls exclaimed, putting a black collar around his neck as a final touch, then said, "I hope Renny gets to make more clothes for you, he'd absolutely love it!"
Kyle let out a growl as he felt his face go red. He thought his outfit was ridiculous and even a little too suggestive, but he couldn't voice his opinions because a man showed up right then, and he looked formidable.
"Oh, good, he's ready," the man said, looking approvingly at Kyle. "Your mother is in the hospital wing due to her illness, but you will be meeting King Vincent right away. You have made him wait seven years, I would not make him wait any longer if I were you."
Kyle nodded blankly. His mortification at the outfit they'd dressed him in was giving way to sheer terror. On the one hand, the King had a reputation for being good and kind, but on the other hand, he was known as being absolutely brutal to those who crossed him, and even though Kyle hadn't done anything, his father had sold the neighboring country information that allowed them to defeat Vincent's forces in a major battle in exchange for some very nice slaves. Vincent would have gotten the slaves if Kyle's father hadn't pulled some other stunt, and now Kyle was the one who had to repay his father's debt, because his father was no longer alive and able to do so.
Tears sprung up in his eyes as he thought about his father. They'd been forced to cut off all communications when his mother had taken him into hiding, but he'd never thought...
"Dry your face, it will do you no good to be crying when you meet the king."
Kyle growled and did as he was told. Vincent had ruined his life, but he sure as hell wasn't going to give the b*****d the pleasure of knowing it.

((He might end up stumbling upon Vincent and Lucrecia's dramatic morning meeting, heh heh. Towards the end, though. I wouldn't want to ruin the moment. > : D ))

[H]enry [M]ichelle [L]ee
But you can call me [H]oney!

                                          "Some pictures of ME!"

Henry’s blue eyes didn’t waver, even as Valoris frowned at him. It almost seemed like the man was disappointed. Small fists formed and his thin digits dug in to his palms. He wished he didn’t know what happened. He wished he his mind was as clean as a slate. It was close, but he had snuck out those few times and learned about the consequences the hard way. He had been threatened by a guard, but luckily his father had come and saved him. His father had bribed the guard to keep him a secret, saying he was a surprise for the King. Back then, it excited him to hear that. Though now that he had met Vincent, he wasn’t too sure on being the king’s surprise. When he had seen his true father at the garden party, he had felt fear. He was terrified of his own father. It was the look in his eyes and how he seemed to be holding himself back. Like he could do worse to him, if only something was changed. He didn’t know what factor was stopping the King from carrying out those intentions, but he was just glad that factor existed. Even with all of this, he still didn’t know about his own body, nor the opposite sex. He didn’t know about the world. He was a clean slate, except for those horrible truths. He released a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding and looked up at Valoris as he spoke. He nodded a bit. It was understandable, but the king had asked who his father was. Even if Henry did answer, he didn’t know who to say was his father. His eyes blinked curiously up at the adviser and he smiled a bit. If the King asked again, or anyone else, he would just tell them Valoris was. They would believe it. They shared the same hair and eyes.

Blue orbs blinked as Valoris knelt down in front of him, though Henry no longer had to directly up at him, he still had to incline his head just a bit. Henry knew he took after his mother in almost every category. That was proved even more when he met his father. Figuring the circumstances, Henry knew he wouldn’t grow much taller. He was about 4’10 now; he probably had a few more inches to grow. As Valoris settled his hand against Henry’s messy white hair, the boy remembered his troubles and watched curiously. A small smile graced his lips as he heard Valoris’s promise and he closed his eyes, taking in the adviser’s words. Feeling a slender digit press against his chin and lift his face, blue oceans stared in to a nearly identical pair of bright blue eyes. Henry’s brows knit together as he heard his next statement, though it was more in confusion then negativity. “What does ‘conceived’ mean?” he asked, tilting his head a bit. He felt Valoris’s finger leave his chin after he tried to explain his last statement. Henry simply nodded; his mind was lost as Valoris began to use unfamiliar vocabulary. But Henry didn’t want to speak up and simply read between the lines and figured it out for himself. Blink. Blink. Blink. That’s all Henry could do after Valoris had finished speaking. It took a while for him to decipher and understand what Valoris had meant, but he soon understood, nodding slowly. He didn’t his true father too well, so he decided he would just take Valoris’s word. “Okay,” he replied and closed his eyes for a few moments. He was curious when he WOULD be introduced to his real father. He didn’t have time to ask as his eyes opened and stared up at Valoris.

The man was wearing a mischievous smile and Henry couldn’t help smiling back. He was glad he was one of the few to see Valoris show his emotions. It made him feel special and he giggled, nodding vigorously. “Okay!” he chirped, his worries temporarily forgotten. He clung to Valoris’s hand and followed the man down a series of halls, cutting corners and pretty much… navigating a maze. Henry tried his best to memorize the way to his new room, but he knew he would get lost a few times in the future. Glancing around the large hall, he blinked and felt a little dizzy from the trip. He nearly fell over as Valoris tugged at his hand and dragged him to a tall door. “It’s okay, it’ll change over time and become more comfy,” he assured Valoris. Feeling himself being pushed in to the room, he sent a small glare back at Valoris, poking out his tongue. Walking to the center of the room, he stood looked around the large living room. His blue eyes skimmed over the furniture, they were plain, but… he plopped down on one of the couches… comfortable. Standing up, he approached the one of the three doors along the back wall. The first one, to the far left, he opened. It revealed a large bedroom with a king sized bed. He like dthe lime green sheets the bed sported and it seemed the theme seemed to repeat. The walls and shelves were bare. Nothing personal or comforting existed here. Eh shuddered and closed the door, not liking the darkness which seemed to consume the room. Approaching the next door, he opened it to reveal a… office? “What am I going to do with a office?” he tilted his head and flicked on the light. He blinked as he saw the walls were covered with shelves filled with books. Flicking the light off, he left that room and approached the last. Opening it, he smiled brightly after he flicked on the light. It was kitchen. The one part of this suite that looked welcoming. This kitchen was larger than his last and had more storage. Much more cooking space and even a little section set off for a dining room. He peeked in to the dining room and saw the cozy looking table. It was just big enough to fit eight people around it comfortably. Henry quickly checked the fridge and freezer, nodding in approval as he saw they were fully stocked. The cabinets were filled with plates, bowls, cooking ware, preservatives, seasoning, etc. Drawers contained silverware. Looking at the stove, he saw it had six burners and then beside the stove was a grill. Literally, it was his own piece of heaven. With some decorations, it will be perfect. About to leave the kitchen, his blue eyes landed on a apron. It was his apron. The same apron he had first Valoris in. He smiled and hugged the soft fabric against him. It was so soft and he simply loved this apron. His mother had bought it for him when she discovered his love for cooking. Of course, the apron gets a little shorter each year, but he still wore it. Hanging it back up, he skipped out of the kitchen, flicking the light off and scampering back over to Valoris, He gave the adviser a tight hug and grinned up at him.

“Thank you!” he soon let go of Valoris and turned back to the room. He nodded as Valoris spoke, he was tired and cooking was not going to an option. He yawned involuntarily at the thought of sleep and leaned back against the adviser. His blue eyes closed as he felt Valoris’s warm breathe tickle his ear and nodded, rubbing his cheeks. They felt funny again, like when that chef had licked away the icing from his face. He turned around to face Valoris, nodding again. In truth, he didn’t want Valoris to leave him again. Every time Valoris left, the man always took so long to return. He took Valoris’s hand and led him to the bed room, though once he opened the door; he flicked on the light quickly to scare away the darkness. HE sighed and pulled Valoris in. “I’m going to take a bath, okay?” he quickly informed Valoris before scampering off to a door and opening it. He flicked on the light and stepped inside, closing the door and stripping down. Starting the shower, he hopped in and washed himself and his hair quickly. Stepping out, he could smell strawberries and looked around for the delish little treat, but soon realized it was he who smelled of strawberries. He liked the scent and quickly toweled off and brushed his teeth. Brushing his hair, he didn’t try to tame it. Wrapping the towel around his small body, he stepped out of the bathroom and flicked the lights off. It was then he realized, he didn’t know if he had any extra clothes and he blushed as he began to search for his wardrobe. Hopefully he could find at least a loose shirt to wear. He found another door and pushed it open, flicking on eth light. He gasped as he saw the huge walk in closet. “Woah…” his blue eyes widened as he looked over the racks of clothes. Walking in, he searched a few rows until he found a pair of cute blue briefs. He picked out an oversized green shirt that fell to his knees. A chocolate cupcake was on the front with the words ‘I Miss My Chocolate Cupcake’ printed beneath it. Finished changing, he tossed his towel in to a hamper and exited the closet, running over to Valoris and pouncing, tackling the taller man down on to the bed. His arms wrapped around the adviser’s neck and his face nuzzled in his neck, he purred. “Thank you, Valoris,” he breathed against the man’s neck and pulled himself closer to the adviser. Henry mumbled a few inaudible words, though one thing could be heard very clearly. “Please, don’t leave me…” Small hands loosened their grip on the adviser as his body fell limp, laying against Valoris , sleeping peacefully.

                                          :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Feeling the warmth of the first rays of sun light touch his skin, he cuddled closer to the warm body beside him. He didn’t want to get up and he wasn’t about to let the sun bully him out of bed. The light in the room continued to increase and it was becoming increasingly hard to fall asleep. He buried his face in to Valoris’s chest, determined not to wake up, but so far, the sun was winning this battle. Finally, Henry gave in and squinted, opening sea blue eyes. He let his eyes adjust before looking up at Valoris and smiling up at the sleeping man, leaning up and kissing his forehead before sliding out his hold. It took quite some time to do, it seemed each movement he made, made the man tighten his grip. But he managed to slip out of Valoris embrace without waking the other and got of the bed slowly. Tucking Valoris in better, he tip toed to his closet and entered, slipping off the shirt and placing it in a bin. He picked out a pair of black jean shorts and a bright green T-shirt. A picture of a cartoon dog that looked more like doll was on the front. He appeared to have his mouth open. The quote, ‘I’m Going to Sing the Doom song Now!’ was printed on the shirt below the dog in scrawled letters. All across the front of the shirt in a somewhat see through white lettering was ‘DOOM DOOM DOOM!’, continuously repeated. He slipped on a pair of ankle socks and brightly colored sneakers before exiting the room and quietly leaving the bedroom to head to the kitchen. He was planning to fix some breakfast for him and Valoris.

Entering the kitchen, he flicked on the light and slipped on his baby blue apron. His mother had given him the apron and he never got another. He loved this apron because it held memories, precious memories of his mother. Touching the soft fabric, he noticed the apron had gotten a bit smaller, or rather, He had grown. He giggled and shrugged, rushing around the kitchen. He gathered everything he would need for this meal: Eggs, cheese, bacon, bell pepper, yellow onions, potatoes, jalapenos, bread, strawberries, blueberries, flour, sugar, butter, green onions, olive oil, milk, pepper, and salt. Once everything was on the counter, he took out a few pots and pans. He set to work, chopping up the onions, potatoes, bell pepper, and green onions. While the onions, potatoes, and bell pepper sautéed in some olive oil in pan, he started on the cheese sauce in a separate pot. He added jalapenos to cheese sauce as well. Constantly stirring the sauce, he reached a hand over and began cracking a few eggs in to a large bowl. Adding salt and pepper to the eggs. Picking up a whisk, he scrambled them. His blue eyes gazed at the sauce and then looked towards the sautéed vegetables. The potatoes were tender now and a light golden brown which gave signal that he could add the eggs. Pouring the eggs in to the large pan, he fixed the omelet. In another pan, bacon and sausage was being cooked, and in the toaster, bread was being toasted. Finishing the omelet, Henry distributed the food on to two separate plates. He drizzled the cheese sauce over the omelets before adding green onion for decoration. Not long after, the bacon and sausage was done and joined the rest on the plates. Henry fixed two stacks of pancakes, one stack strawberry and the other blue berry. Last to be done, was the toast, which was quickly buttered and cut in half before placed on the plates.

It didn’t take long for him to set the table. He placed the plates of food at their proper spots at the table with silverware and glasses. Glances up at the clock as he finished washing the dirty pots and pans, he guessed Valoris should be up by now. He really hoped his friend would like the breakfast he made for him. He had worked really hard on it. Drying the dishes, he put them away and dried his own hands. He had put away everything he had taken out and the place was spotless now. He smiled proudly and walked out in to the living room. His blue orbs looked over the room and he frowned at how it screamed business. He wanted comfy and relaxing. He could easily change that. Walking to the sitting area situated in the middle of the room, he looked it over, trying to think of ways to improve. His eyes caught on something that stood out against the cedar coffee table. It was a rose, but it was a strange color. Baby blue. Tilting his head, he reached down and picked up the flower gently, examining it. “Who put a rose here? And such a strange color…” he looked around nervously before smiling and heading back to the kitchen. He grabbed a vase and put some water in it. Cutting the stem at an angle, he placed the rose in it and then carried it to the table. He placed it proudly on the table and giggled. “Maybe Valoris did!” he squeaked excitedly, waiting for Valoris to come to breakfast.

Rei was about to open the door when Jake stopped her. She gave him a little nod as he told to shush and listen. Rei stepped back from the door, her hands behind her back. She closed her eyes and listened. She could make out a bit of yelling, but that was it. Pouting, she stared at the ground impatient to go inside. Restless, Rei looked at Jake again. “Can we go inside now?” Rei asked quietly, hoping that he would say yes. She wanted to go in and see Damien already. Blush crept upon her face; Rei scowled and pinched her cheeks. But then there was Tyki. She didn’t know how to act in front of him. Her mind replayed the scene from last night. The one where Tyki had kissed her…passionately. Her arm lifted and touched her lips. In a way, Rei felt like Tyki erased Damien’s kiss with his. Sighing, Rei pushed the thoughts away. I’ll just…try to act normally. She thought to herself, but wasn’t sure that if she could do it or not.
