Our Characters:

(Students)

Arianna LeStrange
Age: Seventeen
Year: Seventh
House: Slytherin
Wand: Cherry Wood, Unicorn Tail hair
Goal: Potioneer
Story: Arianna is the discarded only child of Bellatrix and Rodolphus, born while her mother was imprisoned in Azkaban for the second time. She was given to Draco and Astoria to be raised, as Lucius and Narcissa were no longer mentally, or financially capable of providing for her. When Scorpius was born, Arianna enjoyed playing with him and the two grew up together. Though Draco was technically her cousin by blood, she would call him "Uncle" in relation to their ages. Scorpius and Arianna had a love/hate relationship, always picking on each other, and pulling pranks on each other, but still having each other's backs when needed. Once both were in Hogwarts, both sorted into Slytherin, she began to focus on her true passion...Potions. Her dream was to create new, more powerful potions. It was her third year at Hogwarts when they got a new, permanent Potions Teacher...and ever since, she has had a crush on the man. Not even Scorpius knows, but she's sure he has his suspicions. This year, Arianna is determined to confess to the Professor, how she feels, but she is unsure how he will react.
Schedule: Lots of practice!

Selena Lovegood
Age: Sixteen
Year: Seventh
House: Ravenclaw
Wand: Willow Wood, Unicorn Hair
Goal: Seer
Story: Selena Lovegood is Neville Longbottom’s and Luna Lovegood’s daughter. Before attending Hogwarts, Selena had shown that she had great magical potential, though little confidence. She had had one or two experiences at a young age where she ‘knew’ what was going to happen before it happened. For example, a thunderstorm, or the heat wave the British Isles experienced in 2003. As she was young, she couldn’t express these ideas effectively, and when she stopped announcing she had seen ‘pictures’ it was dismissed as early magic. In Selena’s first year of Hogwarts, toward the end of the year, she announced to her Father in the Greenhouse that the new permanent potions master would be appointed at the beginning of her third year. Sure enough, this came true. Her Father, noticing her accuracy, mentioned it to the headmaster and professor Trelawney, and she began to take extra private classes with the older seer to learn more about her mysterious power, on top of her regular divination classes. The girl, now in her seventh year has stopped taking the extra classes with Trelawney (since her fourth year) and instead meets with Firenze, finding him a better teacher as he knows more about control and triggers than the official professor does. She finds that she requires structure for her magic more than the random affair she says Trelawney makes of Divination.

Note: Since her Father is the teacher of Herbology, she is excused from this class as favoritism might come into play. However, since her first year she has gone to see her Father every day after school to learn what everyone else is learning, and did all the same assignments, though the marks were never officially recorded.

Orion Prongs Black
Age: Seventeen
Year: Seventh
House: Ravenclaw
Wand: Black Ash and Dragon Heartstring
Goal: Magizoologist
Story: Orion, is the only child of Sirius Black, and a Mudblood witch, who's name was never mentioned. It was a passing union, and the woman passed during the birth, having refused to go to see a doctor. Orion was probably the best kept secret of the Order, as not even Harry knew of the boy. Shortly after Sirius' death, the young baby was taken in by Remus Lupin and his new wife, Nymphadora Tonks. After their death in the Battle at Hogwarts, Orion was quick to leave, not wanting to change households again. He was then taken in by a traveling wizard who taught him about caring for and studying magical animals. Orion's dream soon became to care for a variety of magical beasts, and teach others how to care for them.

              Cristian Smyth
              Age: Seventeen
              Year: Seventh
              House: Griffindor
Wand: Black Walnut and Dragon Heartstring. Unyielding. 10 and 1/4 Inch
Goal: Wandmaker, otherwise he has no idea
Story: Cris comes from an all wizarding family, and have been as far back as most records will go, so that could in fact make them purebloods; not that the boy cares about blood status or anything, he was just grateful he wasn't born without any magical talent nor a squib. He is the only child of his parents, more than likely because both of his parental units work at the Ministry of Magic, doing some sort of work that takes up the majority of their time and keeps them away from home enough that Cris hardly saw them, being left with the family baby sitter; if anything she was more a mother to him and his own. Though the boy didn't wallow in self pity, it only made him become a little more independent at an early stage and eventually the time came where his baby sitter didn't really have much else to do for him, the boy could cook, clean, dress and take care of himself better than most adults could. By the time he reached his schooling days, Cris was curious with wands, more or less the making of them. Considering most witches and wizards were powerless without such a tool, his interest was caught, that and he was told the combination of his own wand was a rare one. Though this didn't seem to attract his parents attention, which even though he was an able person, still craved considering the fact he was alone at school as well, he had an idea as to how to obtain some attention. It worked, perhaps a little too well. In his fifth year, in secret, Cris took it upon himself to train himself to become an Animagus - his animal counter part being a Wolf. Well, it worked. Though his parents were not to thrilled there son was an unregistered one, atleast they were walking to him.

              (Teachers)

Prof. Abel. Yes, just Abel! Mister Etstam was my father and I don't like him!
              Age:
                Twenty-Seven

              Position:
                Potions Professor

              House:
The hat originally said Hufflepuff, but decided on Ravenclaw instead.

              Wand:
              Background:
Abel came from a broken home. Both pitted together in an arranged marriage, his Muggle father was an angry alcoholic and his Squib mother had been knocked around a few too many times. One of a set of twins, Abel was always second place to his brother, even if - in his opinion, anyway - that brother was a useless, lazy, underachieving sack of crap. Abel made sure he had the best performance in all areas of schooling and worked hard to excel at any extra-curriculars he picked up. Yet his parents still didn't see him. His brother was constantly getting into trouble and no one was seeing him, Abel. In his fourth year he withdrew from people. He stopped trying to be accepted by his peers, he stopped going home during breaks, he quit his extra-curricular activities. If no one would see him, then he would just stop going out, and so when he wasn't attending class he was tucked away in a corner of the library, alone, and reading.

When he finally left school, he was one of the top-three students, though even fellow Ravenclaws were scratching their heads and wondering just who that stellar student was. Abel bottled himself up in some cellar in London and mixed different crazy concoctions, marketing them for their perceived effects. He over-cooked a pickled melon one day (he was actually making dinner in his cauldron, not something very safe to do) and attempted to rid the horrible smell with some fragrant ingredients. The blunder led to a wonderful goop that repelled dust, stains, and dirt. He sold a diluted form of it in an unmarked spray-bottle to Muggles as a revolutionary way to keep kitchens clean, then sold the concentrated stuff in small bottles on Diagon Alley. After the success of "Keep Clean" (he wasn't very creative in the language department), another mistake when he was make something better than bathroom tile caulking led to the creation of a greasy, gelatinous substance that was longer-lasting than most broom polishes. He marketed that as "Stick Grease" but the name was so off-putting that not many were willing to try it. Abel then relocated to Hogsmeade and met with more success than he had in Diagon Alley. Just as "Stick Grease" began to really take off, the position of Potions Professor at the nearby school opened up. He applied, as the pay would be reliable and basic necessities would be taken care of by the school. He got the job, surprisingly, and left the days of his "Stick Grease" and "Keep Clean" behind. Now, he is the professor that students hope they don't get.

              Personality:
Abel's students think he is incredibly boring, and strict, and unsympathetic, and an all-around rule-abiding stickler, maybe even a jerk. At least, most of them do. He's selfish, cowardly, and has a terribly bad inferiority complex. Yet, he is incredibly hard-working and a gifted genius-by-accident, if he tries, which he doesn't. His brilliance only shines through by unintentional means, as he believes he is not good enough to be famous and why try if it's impossible? Generally shies away from social situations and thus lacks tact, but there are a few people - colleagues or students - that can overlook his awkwardness. One-on-one is not as bad as when he is in front of a whole class.

              ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                        Radu Constantin Dănești
You actually got a picture of your's truly? My my, aren't you a cleaver little thing....

                        Age:
Wouldn't you like to know; and that is rather rude. Lets just say I am old enough to know where your forefathers started...

                        Position:
Defence Against the Dark Arts/Head of House

                        House:
                        Slytherin

                        Wand:
Make a joke of how it can be used against me and see where that gets you...

                        Background:
Again with all these questions, rather curious, or stupid you are. Oh well, if you insist.

I was born back when war was a common thing between countries, whether it was over land, religion or woman I didn't really have a care for it; my brothers were more the warriors of the family, myself I found myself immersed in books and the like, I enjoyed a good read by the fire place. Speaking of which my brother is the reason why I am still, and I am yet to figure out whether or not I have forgiven him for doing so. I don't understand why he didn't pick one of the more able bodied of siblings but nonetheless here I stand today. My family was of a noble house, now forgotten but in the pages of history, and one that was after the royal crown of Romania at the time, see there was another who we soon found out had more of a claim to the throne than we did. This seemed to bother my older brother, Wolfric immensely, I had no idea he wanted to become the royal family of the country. Now remember how I said war was common in this time, well it seemed that a dark creature was plotting his own crusade against the people who had wronged him and planned to use my brother for his gain. This failed, thus leaving my older brother a vampire and soon came to me and turned me to remain with him for eternity.

Now, I don't know about you, but I found it rather hard to become custom to living forever, I get bored rather easily, but I still perfected my skills as a vampire with Wolfric, make no mistake while others would hate themselves for the creature they had become, we embraced the darkness and made sure we were vampires true to the word. Though I picked a different path of my brother, that of learning through books and experience; he just did has he pleased, we weren't bothered by others of our kind, perhaps it was because our family, who's human descendants died three hundred years after we were turned, had a history of being rather nasty and cold beings on the field of battle. Which was good, left me to my learning.

Don't ask me what made me come and teacher teenagers the tricks of hiding from our race, among the normal defensive aspects against dark magic; I guess it was out of sheer boredom, I have been teaching at this school on request from the headmistress at the time; fifteen years ago she asked me to come in for a lecture and I have been at the post since, though my dear friend has long left the school to live out the rest of her days.

                        Personality:
You can't tell from looking above what type of person I am? Well, I guess someone got up out of the wrong side of bed. No matter. I am a rather blunt and straight forward kind of person, although a vampire such as myself does have the time for bullshitting here and there, I know most of you humans don't care for it, so I remain my ever so blunt self and to be quiet honest I don't really care if you have a problem with it. I am a proper gentleman, priding myself on my well spoken words along with my manners and grace at which I hold myself; I find these traits rather hard to come by in the modern time, not only that but it is good for teaching, it seems to keep the younger one's attention more so. Did I mention that I can be rather cold, uncaring and sadistic, I am afraid that comes with being a vampire, though I am sure you will manage.

Arianna "Aria" LeStrange
Seventh Year Slytherin
[Potions Fanatic]

The sorting ceremony had just ended, though the intense roar of approval from all four houses had yet to die down. The Slytherin house had earned a handful of new students, some of which the young woman knew through family ties. Down the long table sat her cousin, a white haired teen with eyes like his father's, in his fifth year, joking and stuffing a bit of what she could only assume was chicken, into his wide-open mouth. The two, cousins separated by one generation, couldn't have looked more different. She had rich, dark hair that fell in luxurious waves down her back and golden eyes, like a cat. Arianna, or Aria, to her friends, was a generally soft-spoken girl, constantly at war with herself over whether to make her family proud, or follow her dreams. She was a truly gifted pureblood, with a knack for potions, and a passion for it to boot.

A spoonful of banana pudding spilled into her mouth when Scorpius wandered over to her. She nodded to him, unable to speak with her mouth full just then, but he didn't wait,
"Hey Aria. Rose and I were planning to go down to the lake tomorrow after classes and throw rocks at the billywigs. Do you want to come?"

Yellow eyes lifted slowly to meet those blue orbs hiding behind his white hair, and she offered a soft smile but shook her head. "No thanks, Scorp. I have a busy day tomorrow, and you promised your mother that you would write to her once you settled in. You'd best not forget, or Aunty Astoria will send howlers until you do. Remember second year? I could hear it from outside." Arianna snickered at the thought before sitting upright. "Besides, I was going to run into Hogsmeade on Wednesday morning for a few things. You're welcome to join me."

The boy considered the offer and accepted, since he was needing to stock up on sweets and treats for his girlfriend. He nodded and the two relatives parted ways. Arianna, however, had already shifted her sights toward the teacher's table at the front of the Great Hall. There, just to the left of the Headmaster and a couple seats over, was the man she had waited all summer to see again. It was the Potions professor, sitting there, not even knowing how dreamy he was. Resting her chin on her palm, Arianna watched from the corner of her eye, how the man would lift his fork to his lips, or take a sip of his drink...the way his tossed a lock of hair from his eyes.
'Merlin's Beard, I need to stop...focus...eat now, fantasize later! You're going to see him for six hours tomorrow!' she scolded herself mentally then went about finishing her food slowly.

Selena clapped gently along with everyone else a little longer before stopping. She had been right about the new additions to Ravenclaw. She looked up at where her father was sitting along the teacher's table and nodded. He gave the slightest of nods back, and turned to Professor Trelawney, who was sitting next to him, striking up a conversation with her. Selena turned her gaze from her father to the table before her. She looked around at the food, and selected a few things off different plates. Some chicken, some potatoes, some other non-carb vegetables. The girl's face remained neutral as she ate the food on her plate, then helped herself to a slice of chocolate cake, sipping her pumpkin juice as she ate. The general noise and banter was tuned out as she focused on keeping out the images that tried to flood into her mind. She was getting better at it, shifting through them subconsciously, and only looking at the ones that seemed important. The girl paused, goblet half way to her lips, and froze there, completely absorbed in the image that had drawn her attention.

Putting down her goblet again, the girl suddenly stood, and marched over to the banquet hall doors just as they opened to reveal the grounds keeper, Rubeus Hagrid. She looked up at him and smiled. "Hello Hagrid. How are you?" The half-giant smiled. "Oh, I'm doing well Selena, how 'bout you? How was yer summer then?" "I'm good, and my summer was rather pleasant. How's Firenze doing?" "Oh, he's doin' well, lookin' forward tuh seein' his favourite divination student again." "Hagrid," the young witch chided, "I'm his only divination student. "Aye, that yeh are Selena, that yeh are." The big man gave her a grin. "But that dun mean yer not 'is favourite." Selena smiled in return and laughed, high and clear. "All right Hagrid, you win. I'm going to go sit back down." The young witch gave him a small wave and headed back to her spot, a gentle, far-off smile on her face.

As the girl sauntered up the gap between Ravenclaw and Slytherin tables, she almost bumped into another student. A boy she assumed to be a fifth year who just finishing a chat with an older girl with rich dark curly hair and - were those golden eyes? Selena stared at the girl a moment to confirm this before continuing a few more feet up the aisle to her seat. She believed that girl had been in her potions class last year, though she couldn't be sure. Was her name Elianna, Alanna? No, neither of those were right. Oh, yes, Arianna! She was at the top of the class last year, though Selena wasn't too far behind, she wasn't nearly as good as the other girl. She'd always get distracted by an image while making her potion and loose count of how many times she'd stirred in one direction, or how many mandrake roots she'd put on, or how long it had boiled, and the potion would be ruined and she'd have to start again. The girl had given up on potions at the end of last year, and was instead focusing all her courses around becoming a licensed seer. Sparing the girl one final glance, Selena returned to her dessert, scanning the images in her head for anything important or interesting.

        xxxxxxxxxxABEL, potions professor
Great Hall I found something shinier than any treasure. Look for the next page in my story!

INDENT Time for another year. This would be his fifth, and counting. It was hard to believe he had lasted this long without getting fired. In fact, no one said anything to him, really, except his students. But their opinions didn't matter.

INDENT Abel didn't like the whole staff table thing but it was where the professors were supposed to sit. He was a professor, after all, and hadn't the gall to ask the headmaster if he could have his meals in the kitchen with the house-elves - hideous but nonjudgmental creatures - or even better, in his office. But he never asked, and so year after year, for each meal, he sat at the long table where it felt like everyone was watching him. The Potions Professor kept his arms close to his body to avoid bumping anyone and consequently having to apologise and sunk the edge of a fork into the flesh of some poultry. It cut through the tender meat and he stabbed it, bringing it to his mouth; it was chicken today. An adequate amount of food was consumed in a proper ratio of vegetables to starches to meat, and then his fork was lowered. His goblet - for there was no such thing as a simple glass or cup here - was lifted to his lips and he drank something coloured a deep red like wine yet wasn't. It was going to be five years teaching and well over a decade in the world of magic and the norms of wizards and witches were just as foreign as the day he had received the letter to attend Hogwarts.

INDENT Finished with his meal for now, the teacher sat back in his chair and looked out at the Great Hall. The student body was different, as it was every year, but it still looked the same; it was just a mass of writhing, wiggling children. His hands darted up from his lap to push his hair behind his ears, but it was to short to stay there and soon was in his face again. He brought his goblet into his lap and rotated it in his fingers as he observed the crowd of children once more. The Slytherins this year seemed rowdier and snootier than normal. He would have to be wary when teaching this year not to let the Slytherins harass the Hufflepuffs. Wouldn't want another Fungiface Potion incident like last year...

Arianna "Aria" LeStrange
Seventh Year Slytherin
[Potions Fanatic]

Scorpius bumped into the passing Ravenclaw girl and stumbled back a step, but didn't fall. Realizing his fault, he rubbed the back of his neck and smiled apologetically, "My fault, sorry." He then continued on his way back to his seat to sit with his buddies. One boy wanted to see if the young Malfoy heir could bite off half an apple, as he had bragged about being able to do.

Arianna glanced over long enough to see her cousin attempt the stupid feat but her attention was soon distracted by the student walking by. Her face was familiar. Potions class the year prior! The girl would be at the top of the class too, if she could focus her attention on the task at hand. But the Ravenclaw's short attention span was not of Arianna's concern, though, her golden eyes did follow her until the girl slipped amongst her housemates. She had offered a small nod to the girl when she noticed her looking toward her, but otherwise, the Slytherin girl nibbled her dinner and sipped her juice.

The large groundskeeper wandered up the aisle, which caused her lips to curl into a smile.
"Allo Hagrid! Good to see you again!"

The small Giant turned to seek out who was speaking, "Oh, blimey, 'ria! I di'n't see ya there!" He beamed happily. He was getting quite the warm welcome this year.

"Aye, lurking amongst the flock, as always. You going to let me at that hair of yours this year?" Aria questioned with a playful tease to her voice. She had been trying to get her hands on Hagrid's tangled mop of hair every year, and he always had some excuse for her to not mess with it.

A chuckle fell from the large man's lips as he stroked his graying beard,
"We'll be fine'in out, sure 'nuff, 'ria. Y'hear 'bout the Ball 'round Chris'mas? Maybe den. I'll be needin'a look my best!"

Arianna stifled a snicker of her own and nodded, "There was a brief mention of it. I don't know if I'll go or not, but if you let me do something with that hair of yours, then I will!" Smiling, she waved and watched him head up toward the table where the teachers were seated, and her gaze followed, noticing that Hagrid's large frame was blocking her view of Professor Abel. Once Hagrid moved, Aria swore the potions teacher was looking right at her, even if he was merely looking over the crowd, it felt like there was a moment of eye contact, and her face immediately grew hot, glowing red in her cheeks as she turned back toward her plate.

Selena finished eating just as the Headmaster stood up and told everyone they were free to leave now, if they wished. Selena stood and walked over to stand in front of her father at the teacher's table. Neville Longbottom looked up from his dinner at his daughter. "Do you think it would be a problem if I went to say hello to Firenze?" the girl asked, her eyes pleading with the poor man for permission. The man looked at the teacher to his right, who nodded at him, before he turned back to his daughter, a wry smile on is face. "Oh, all right. But don't be long." "I'll make sure to be back before curfew, thanks Dad!" The girl beamed at her father before turning and rushing down the steps and out of the Great Hall. She took a short cut through the West Wing, a detour around the Whomping Willow, past Hagrid's Hut to the very edge of the Forbidden Forest. It was here that she stopped, and searched the edge of the forest to the best of her abilities. She heard hoof-falls, and sure enough, there was Firenze, as wonderful as ever, silver hair streaming, blue eyes cutting through the night.

With an exclamation of joy, Selena rushed forward and hugged her tutor, happy to be back for another year of lessons with the centaur. "Firenze, how are you?" Selena asked, stepping back from the embrace to look her teacher over. "Has the herd been treating you well?" Firenze smiled. "I am well, Selena, and my herd has been more that understanding, especially since I told them of your abilities growth over the past year. I am looking forward to training you once again." He smiled gently at the girl. "Did you have an enjoyable time over the summer holiday's with your mother and father?" "Yes, I did. We spent time at the beach when Dad wasn't preparing for the new year, and Mom wasn't writing the latest quibbler issue, and we went camping as well!" The girl smiled. "Mom was particularly pleased because I managed to find her concrete proof of the existence of Nargles. Still working on the Blibbering Humdinger and Crumple-Horned Snorkack though." She was beaming as the centaur gently turned her away from the forest and escorted her back up the hill towards the building. "Oh, guess what?" The centaur smiled. "You had chicken potatoes and vegetables for your dinner, and chocolate cake for dessert, all accompanied by pumpkin juice?" "No, but that is very good Firenze. No, I predicted with perfect accuracy all the new Ravenclaw students." The girl beamed as the centaur stopped walking to turn and stare at her. He took a few moments to fully absorb and process the information, before blessing her with a beaming smile.

"Good job Selena, very good! You've been keeping in practice then! How are you doing with keeping images out of your head unless you choose to pay attention to them?" "Well, I've gotten better at shifting through them subconsciously, but they still distract me quite easily, and I find myself stopping what I'm doing before I'm done and focusing on the image." The centaur patted her on the shoulder. "Don't worry, you'll get there yet. And how about predictions using tools or natural signs? Have you been practicing?" "Yes, but I've a way to go yet. Perhaps we should practice that tomorrow?" The centaur nodded. "Very well Selena, I'll make preparations for that practice then." They had reached Hagrid's Hut, and both paused to look up at the stars. "You better get inside then Selena, looks like a full moon." The centaur smiled at her wryly. "We shouldn't have anything compromise your learning for a few months at least, so you need not worry. Start preparing your mind for sleep." He waved as he turned to trot back into his home. "Goodnight Selena." The girl waved broadly. "Goodnight Firenze, see you tomorrow!" the girl called after the centaur. Smiling broadly, she turned and made her way back to the school, and her dorm in the Tower.

When she reached the door, she waited for the impending riddle. "How far into the Forest can a Unicorn run?" Selena smiled. An easy one today. "Halfway. Then it begins to run out of the Forest." The door opened, and the girl slipped into the Ravenclaw Common Room. She lightly tripped across the room and up the stairs to the seventh year dorm where the rest of the girls were. Selena had decided to go to bed rather early. She walked inside, smiled to the other girl that was there, and sat down on their window sill. The window faced west this year, for which she was grateful. She could see all the way down past Hagrid's Hut to the Forbidden Forest. She smiled to herself, and gazed blankly up at the stars as she slowed the flow of images into her mind the way she had learned to during her first year of tutoring with Firenze. The images thinned out until there were no more left. Keeping this daze, she changed into a nightgown and got into bed, closing the curtains around it so that the other girl's could have light if they wanted it without disturbing her. Selena closed her eyes, rested her head on her pillow, and hummed herself a gentle tune until she fell into dreamless sleep.

        Selfish Cowardly Awkward Unlikable
        ██████████████████████████████████████████████
        xxxxxxxxxxABEL, potions professor
his office I found something shinier than any treasure. Look for the next page in my story!

INDENT Sweet salvation, it was over. Abel waited for the 'proper' moment to rise from his seat and spared no time fleeing from the room. He would retreat first to his office to make absolutely certain for the umpteenth time that his lesson plan was ready to execute (as well as his backup plan B and backup plan C) the following day. He retreated into the room and pushed the door once he entered. It wasn't with enough gusto to close it, but it was enough to at least partly shield his activities from the outside world.

INDENT Some people's offices were a mess. Some of the professors didn't even use their offices. But Abel used his - all several rooms he had been given, which had belonged to one of the previous Potions Masters. Snap or Snope, or something, he didn't know. He kept to himself while in London and had only been in Hogsmeade a few months before the job at Hogwarts; suffice to say he wasn't up on recent events in the wizarding world, as he spent much of his time among the Muggles. Abel began flipping through some files, reading the introductory speeches he would make to the first-years and the explanation of the year's curriculum to the other years. A punctuation mark within one of the speeches was too faint, it was almost as if it wasn't there. That had to be fixed.

INDENT Drawers were pulled open until he found a quill and an inkwell. The lid to the inkwell seemed stuck and he fought to unscrew the cap. It came free with a pop and the full jar came clattering down on his desk. The professor scrambled to find something to blot it up with before realizing the redundancy of such actions. He pulled his wand from a handy waist-thigh holster and swished it about with some ungraceful motions. A mumble later and the ink gathered itself in a small orb. The professor pointed the tip of his wand at that orb and lifted the thin wood. The orb followed as he tapped the tip against the inkwell, depositing it in its rightful place. The mess was pefectly clean, as if he had never spilled it in the first place. How convenient. Abel moved his wand into his other hand just long enough to finally bolster that skimpy dot on the paper. The inkwell was stoppered and the quill was placed aside.

INDENT What a production to do such a simple task!

INDENT Abel tucked his wand away and drew his cloak closer around his body. He sat and gazed around the room. It was quite obvious that this office was in the cellar of the school; it was cold, drafty, a little moist, and perhaps a bit depressing. He didn't mind it though. At least no one would be likely to visit him, and therefore no one would be likely to judge him. The professor's eyes lowered to the papers he had written again. He had already memorized the words, but it didn't hurt to review it one more time just in case.

Arianna "Aria" LeStrange
Seventh Year Slytherin
[Potions Fanatic]

After finishing her meal, and hearing the Headmaster excuse the students to their dormitories, and teachers to their quarters, the dark haired Slytherin stood from her seat, only to be manhandled by her cousin and two of his friends. Scorpius hooked her left arm, while a muscular blond took hold of her right, and the other, a tall, skinny boy with a skin like caramel pushed her from behind. The three boys laughed as Aria struggled slightly against their grasps, though not enough to make a scene. The group walked her out of the Great Hall and down into the hallway that would lead toward the Dungeons. The blond was first to release her, and he backed away when she drew her wand from her robes with a glare. Scorpius scoffed and batted her wand-hand away, teasing, "Figured you'd be used to that by now, Cousin. We always jump you the first day. You weren't daydreaming again, were you?"

The caramel boy batted his eyes mockingly with a chuckle while the blond had his back to her, with glimpses of hands moving over his back, accompanied by kissing sounds. The three boys all fell into a round of laughter, to which the seventh year only growled. "It's none of your business where my head was at, I figured by now, you would grow up." Her wand lifted again before her cousin could react, aimed at his friends, and with a muffled exclamation, the two boys' noses began to bulge. Greenish-yellow blobs oozed from their nostrils, growing in size as they escaped, and soon sprouted wings. Four bat-like boogies swooped and chased the boys down the corridor as they shouted and tried to escape the hex. Aria blew a breath across the tip of her wand, as if it were a smoking gun, and slipped it back into her robes. Scorpius stood with his jaw hanging open as she walked past him toward the dungeons.

Through the door and along a hallway, the girl paused, tracing her fingertip gingerly over the heavy door to the Potions classroom. A small smirk tugged at her lips as she gazed at the door, longing to see the sun rise quickly, so that she could engross herself in her favorite class
. "Goodnight....Professor..." she whispered to the door before turning to walk toward a blank stone wall. She seemed to walk through it as it the wall was merely an illusion, and disappeared down a long hallways that led to the Slytherin Common room.

Once in the girl's room, she found her bed with ease, as it was the same one she had the year prior. Her etchings were still in the headboard, so she knew it was the right one. Most of the girls were busy talking, and catching up, but Arianna just wanted to sleep. With the use of earplugs jammed into her ears and the soothing green glow of the Black Lake overhead, she found sleep came easily to her.

[*~(TIME SKIP...NEXT MORNING)~*]

As day broke and girls scurried around like ants after a rainstorm, Arianna sat upright in bed with a yawn. It took her a moment to remember that she wasn't in her bed, back home in Malfoy Manor, but at school. AT SCHOOL! Her legs swung over the bed and she snatched up her toiletries and her robe. After a quick shower, and the marvels of magic to aid her in a speedy hair-drying endeavor, she slipped into her uniform, brushed out her hair, applied her makeup and like the other girls with early morning classes, searched her trunk for her supplies.

A tote bag, enchanted with an undetectable extension charm, was soon stuffed with notebooks, textbooks, quills, ink, all of her potions equipment, and any other little odds and ends that were still in there from when she used the bag over break. With the bag on her shoulder, and her shoes on her feet, Aria hurried out of the dorm. Passing through the Slytherin Common Room, she passed by Scorpius and his friends. The boys were looking a little tired after fighting off her bat-boogie hex, but they were also in no mood to test her patience this morning. She offered a smirk that they ignored, and she wandered down the passageway and through the wall. She decided to skip breakfast, and chose, instead, to go straight to class.

Further down the hallway, she came to the familiar door, finding it open this morning. Just this simple sight made her smile, because once she stepped through that door, it was if she was transported to a wonderland of happiness. She was in her element in Potions class, and to top it off...The professor teaching the class, in her eyes, was flawless, both for his teaching skills and his off-the-clock awkwardness.

Aria took a seat in the second row near the middle and set up her desk while the others filed in sluggishly. Aria found it amusing that so few people enjoyed the class as much as she did. It was unclear why some complained about the class, or the teacher, but she was home, and couldn't be more pleased. With a quill in one hand, and notebook out, ready to take notes, she doodled pictures and wrote spells along the edges of her papers, while waiting for class to begin.

When Selena woke up that morning, it was six o' clock. She yawned and stretched as the images began to flood her brain again. Moving quietly so as not to disturb the other girls who had likely chatted long into the night, she went and took a shower, then put on her robes. After her tie was around her neck, she pulled out her navy shoulder bag - the one without the expansion charm - and put her quills, ink and parchment inside, grabbed her wand and made her way down into the common room. There was only one person there, a boy her age, who appeared to have fallen asleep while reading last night. She smiled gently and walked over, picking up the book off the ground and folding one of her sheets of parchment into a book mark. She then set the book down on the table by his head, and cast a charm to act as an alarm clock for the poor boy so that he wouldn't be late for morning classes if he had any, then slipped out of the common room and down the tight winding staircase, drying her hair as she went with a handy charm some genius had invented, eventually finding herself peeking into the Great Hall. As she had expected, there was no food out yet. She bit her lip a moment, then made her way to the kitchen and knocked on the door. One of the older elves, Milly opened the door. "Hello Miss Lovegood, and welcome back. What can I do for you so early in the morning?" The girl smiled gently.

"A fast breakfast I can take with me and some water in a seal able flask please Milly, if that's not too much trouble. I'd like to go start my divination studies early." The elf, having done the girl this favor before nodded, and toddled off to get Selena some food and water. When she came back, there was also a flask of fresh tea. "To keep you warm this morning Miss." The elf said, patting her hand. Selena smiled gratefully. "Thank you very much Milly." "That's what I'm here for." With that, the elf waved her off, and the girl tripped back up the steps and outside, headed once again to the Forbidden Forest. It was misty that morning, cool and crisp, and Selena was more than grateful for the tea. On the way, she spotted Hagrid, with the Hippogriff's breakfast. "Hagrid!" she called and waved, before running over. "Good mornin' Selena, what can I do fer you this fine day?" "Good Morning Hagrid. If its alright, I'd like to come with you this morning." The big man beamed. "Well, I'm sure its fine, long as you stick close." The girl nodded. "Of course."

The pair walked for some time before arriving at the feeding site. Selena watched as Hagrid fed the beautiful beasts, careful not to make eye contact with the proud creatures. One of the foals trotted over snorting, and Selena bowed. The young Hippogriff bowed in return, and proceeded to smell her all over, nibbling gently at her robes. The girl laughed joyfully, startling the foal, but when she didn't move or raise her eyes from his flank, he trotted back over and almost insisted she scratch the top of his head. Smiling, the girl obliged. When Hagrid saw, he was practically radiant. "I reckon you've made a good friend there Selena!" the groundskeeper exclaimed, watching as the young beast pranced around her, "And I'll reckon he's yer friend for life!" Selena looked up at Hagrid when he said this. "Oh, aye, that there's a little colt who wants to play with you, a little boy. And I wouln't be surprised if 'e let yeh name 'im." The girl smiled. "Then I think Raeleus is a very fitting name for so noble a colt." The colt snorted and pranced as if he understood, and Selena smiled. "Aye, an' don' 'e know it." The young witch couldn't help but giggle as she again scratched the Hippogriff's head, just where he couldn't reach himself. "He does indeed."
