- When Zachary told Rani he was going to talk to Giddeon about what had happened, she was nervous. And of course their loving alpha spent the night at his girlfriend's house. When he came back in the morning, he said he was just there to get some tools to patch a hole in Ana's wall. Zachary got his chance to talk to him, and the minute the discussion was over, her brother returned to Rani. "I talked to Giddeon," he said, glowering at his little sister. "He said... since you want to be around humans so damned much... you can get a job."
Rani cheered, and without waiting for the long list of rules and regulations that was sure to follow, bolted off into the woods, heading back to town. The first few places she stopped in told her either they weren't hiring, or she wasn't qualified for the opening. On her fifth stop, the man stroked his mustache, looked her over and said, "You know, the people down on Anderson Street need a cashier. I can give you the address." Rani took the address joyfully and rushed to the location (though she had to stop for directions twice).
It was an old-timey gas station, and when she went in, they took her back for an interview right away. They didn't bother telling her they would call; she got the job then and there. She would start tomorrow, though he asked her to stay a bit longer so he could show her the ropes. After an hour or two of that, she stepped outside, and immediately saw the guy from last night... she realized she'd never gotten his name, and decided to fix that. She walked up to the garage, leaned against the entry way and did a catcall. Once she was sure she had his attention, she added, "Hey, stranger. I never got your name last night."
