"The fact that I was born to be one." He looked over at her, his eyes soft. "I never had a choice..."

She blushed slightly. "You are very kind, sir. Thank you for your hospitality..." She looked up at Kette, smiling. "You have a wonderful son..."

Keifer looked at her awkwardly, "yeah... you should get going. You're horses are tied on the other side of the camp and you're supplies have already been saddled up." Kette looked painfully at his father. Keifer only nodded and went back to digging around in his belongings. Kette slowly walked out of the tent with Myfi behind him.

"We need to find the others."

Myfi nodded shortly, looking around the camp. "Casticus?" she cried, scanning the area. "Casticus?"

Casticus winced slightly at the sound of his name. Slowly he got up, looking down at Sylryl and offering her his hand to get up. "We must be leaving."

She took his hand and stood up resting his coat on his shoulders. She could think of nothing to say to ease his worries so she remained quiet.

The men where slowly starting to gather around Kette and Myfi. Being wary of them he pulled Myfi to his chest glaring at them. One spoke up. "Dont be afraid prince Kette. We just wanted to know something." Another took over.

"Lord Keifer's been alone for so long and no one ever sees him smile any more." The first spoke up again.

"Since you came he hasnt stopped smiling. Being from a clan of your own you can understand what Keifer means to us and it hurts all of us to see him lonely again."

Kette was hating that they had him cornered but he held tightly to Myfi. "I cant stay here... I have things I need to finish. However, I will be back, I promise." The mens faces dropped slightly but fake smiles spread across the group.

"I suppose that's all we can ask for." The man leaned out of the way as Lance barreled his way through them and latched onto Myfi's waist. The crowd parted again allowing Sylryl and Casticus to walk through as well. Once they were all together each man pulled out an item and gave it to one of them. "These are just small tokens of our gratitude. We hope they will be useful to you." A bag of food was given to them along with gold trinkets, and peices of armor.

Myfi stood in between Casticus and Kette, softly petting Lance's head as he clung to her. She watched carefully as the men brought forth their gifts, careful not to get to near. Casticus simply looked over the gifts warily, not paying much attention to the men carrying them at all. "Thank you..." Myfi said, curtsying as best as she could with Lance still latched onto her like a parasite. "You all are very kind."

The men slowly disperced, allowing them room. Kette nudged Myfi (and Lance) towards the horses which were already saddled and fidgeting nervously. Sylryl lifted herself onto her mare patting it on the shoulder. "Lets hurry, we cant waste any more time."

Kette nodded in agreement being silent as he pryed Lance from Myfi and lifted her onto the horse.

Myfi accepted Kette's help, placing her small hands on his arms as he lifted her up. She shifted in the saddle, attempting to get comfortable for the long ride and waiting for Kette to mount as well. Casticus simply mounted his horse silently. He glanced at Sylryl out of the corner of his eyes before gripping the reigns tightly in his hands. "Where are we going now?" asked Myfi softly.

The demon lifted himself onto the horse forcing the words out of his mouth. "Some friends of mine...." He bit his lip dreading the next location. He led his horse into the woods before Keifer stepped onto the path.

"Kette!" The demon turned to see a leather pouch flying towards his face and crashing against his nose.

"Ow! What the hell!?" He caught it as it fell from his face looking at his father who was smiling.

"You're welcome." He stuck his hands in his pocket watching them ride away. A tiny smile crept across his face as he nodded farewell to his father.

Myfi leaned back against Kette comfortably, watching as the trees passed them by. It seemed quiet where they were aside from the soft chirp of birds. She fiddled with the clasp of her cloak absentmindedly as they rode, spacing out over time. Casticus was quiet for the most part, examining his coat tiredly and picking at one of the thick black stitches that held the patchwork together.

The hours passed slowly and silently. Kette's eyes grew heavy from the lack of a decent night's sleep in months. He laid his chin on Myfi's shoulder gazing sleepily ahead as the path began to grow dark lit only be the occasional firefly. Syrlyl led the way with out showing an signs of fatigue. Eventually she broke the silence, "Is that it?" Her voice startled Kette causing him to close his eyes fearful of seeing the castle. Much to his dismay once he peered out through his eyelids there lay the castle brightly lit with torches and lanterns, nestled among large oaks and huge boulders.

"Yeah.. thats it..." He recalled the events that took place at this castle about 6 months ago and turned his head to hide his gaze in Myfi's back.

Myfi's eyes lit up at the beautiful gothic castle. The flickering torches created moving shadows on the stone walls of the castle, making them dance like ghosts in the moonlight. Casticus looked relatively unimpressed, keeping silent about the entire thing. The large wrought iron gates loomed in front of them, intricate in pattern and forming large swirls and curves from black. "How will we get in?" she asked softly.

"Ketté!!!" The demon had absolutely no time to react as he was tackled from his horse and flown into the air.

"KLAUS PUT ME DOWN DAMMIT!!" Latched onto Kette was a young vampire with wine red hair nuzzling his face under the demon's chin.

"I missed you so much, Ketté!" Klaus flew them higher and higher using his powerful red bat wings.

"Stop calling me that." The vampire became quiet but didnt let go arcing his wings to catch the air and lower them towards the ground. Kette struggled to get away as soon as his feet touched the ground, but alas, Klaus was stronger.

Myfi only stared at the vampire in surprise from his sudden entrance. She suddenly heard what sounded like soft laughter, almost like wind chimes. "I don't think he can breathe, Klaus," said a soft voice from the darkness. Out stepped a petite looking figure, pale like porcelain with blond hair that fell to just above her chin and curled in. She was wearing all black aside from the vivid splotch of color from the flowers twined in her locks. She smiled softly, clasping her lacy, gloved hands daintily. "It's good to see you again, Kette."

Kette managed to squeak at the girl, "H-Hey Orchid.."

Klaus could not stop smiling sliding around behind the demon, keeping his arms around his waist and nuzzling his face into the back of his neck. Kette only groaned trying to ignore him.

Sylryl raised her brow at the vampire sliding from her horse as did Lance from his pony, running over to cling to Myfi.

Orchid looked around the area, examining each person with her silver eyes. She finally smiled, saying, "I suppose we have company. I assume these are your friends?" Myfi dropped down from her horse, patting Lance on the shoulder while Casticus slid from his, crossing his arms and staring at something on his sleave.
