Welcome to Gaia! ::

The demon grumbled, "absolutely...." He stepped through the wall touching the next one to watching his hand go through. Slowly one wall after another they reached the great door on the other side. Kette pushed it open to reveal a room covered with empty selves and scraps of paper littering the floor. "Dammit!!" He clamped his teeth together furious. "He's freaking dead meat!!" The shifter had left the cave some time ago leaving behind no trace of where he and supposedly Ryomi had gone.
Myfi peered into the room from behind Kette, looking around curiously. The kelpie sauntered up behind them carelessy saying, "Well...now what?" Myfi pressed her fingers to her lips in thought, looking around at the room. She slipped past Kette, looking at the stone walls just above the doorway the two men were standing in. She tipped her head, slowly repeating the words that were written above the doorway.

"For I have loved the stars too dearly to be fearful of the night..."
The words meant nothing to the frustrated demon. "s**t.... lets go." He found a door that led outside and shoved it open making sure not to drop the female elf in his fury. "There's a town up ahead, we can restock once we get there." He leapt onto his horse laying the girl against him.
Myfi nodded as Casticus helped her onto her horse.

The town was a small one, surrounded by forrests and secluded from the rest of the world. The cottages were small, packed together and strangely distant feeling for something that looked so welcoming. They were greeted with stares, whispers, and glares. All of this seemed to make the selkie uncomfortable, her body language changing to where she was more curled up to herself. Casticus sat proudly, glaring back at many of the villagers.
Kette ignored the whispers and stares riding along with the elf tucked close under his jacket. He glanced back and Myfi mouthing the words stay close. The three horses trodded down the cramped dirt streets as their riders searched for any sign of a general store with only hushed words and backwards glares for direction. Night was falling fast on the travelers and even though Kette didnt like it they were stuck in the town until night fall. Finally they found an inn with a stable for their mounts. Kette gently handed the elf into Casticus's arms. "Go get us a room, I'll take care of the horses." He grabbed each by the reigns hoping that Myfi and the elf would be ok with the kelpie. He lead the horses to the stable around back.
The kelpie managed to make his way to the inn, throwing open the doors and walking up to the desk, setting the elf down in a chair nearby. "Do you have any available rooms?" he asked, the rather plump inkeeper glaring at him.

"And what makes you think your kind is welcome here?" he spat rudely. Myfi frowned, eyes cast downward at the man's words. The kelpie took a deep breath, closing his eyes and leaning over the desk, hands pressed against the top.

"Because we have money and are in need of a room, kind sir." Something in the kelpie's eyes flashed, frightening the man when he looked up. The inkeeper seemed displeased, grumbling as he retrieved a key from the wall. "Thank you," hissed the kelpie exiting the building, picking up the dark elf on the way out.
The demon unsaddled the horses around back and allowed then loose inside their own stable where there was fresh hay and water. He patted them each on the nose making sure they would be ok, when a hand fell on his shoulder. He tensed up as the hand flung him around and slammed him against the stable wall freaking the horses out. He groaned slightly but looked up at his assailers. Several young men with large iron bars stood before him looking irriated to say the least. "You know you're not welcome here. Get out and take your friends with you." The man that had him by the throat was about thirty and smelled of ash and soot. Kette kept his voice very calm.

"We needed a place to stay, we will be gone in the morning. Leave us alone and I wont tear you appart." The other men growled furiously.

"Kill him Hector. He's nothing but trouble." Hector growled brutishly at the man before him completely outnumbered then swiftly whipped his iron bar across Kette's jaw and slammed his knee into the demon's ribs. Kette fell to the ground holding his cheek slightly with blood dripping from his lips before slowly standing and smiling devilishly at the men.

"Wh-what the hell are you?" Kette smiled wider revealing his fangs before promptly beating them all down with their own iron bars splattering his skin with their blood. Unforturnately one had caught him across the back hurting him aswell causing him to limp into the inn to find Myfi and Casticus.
The room was a small on with a hearth, a copper tub, and two beds one of which the elf was laying on. Casticus was just finished drawing a warm bath for the selkie, filling it with water warmed from the fireplace while the selkie sat on the soft bed. Myfi turned around, gasping as the bloodied demon walked in. "KETTE!" she cried, rushing forward to help him into the room. "Kette you're hurt..." she whispered. "Get in the water...you need it more than I do..."
Kette sat down in a chair rubbing his jaw. "I'm fine, Myfi.." He smiled at the selkie, "You go..." He wiped the blood from his jaw touching the small of her back pushing her towards the bath.

The elf laid peacefully on the bed curled up with Kette's jacket.
Myfi watched him worriedly. "Kette..." She was quiet, watching him for a moment before she began stripping herself of her clothing, slipping into the water. The water stung her skin at first, causing her to hiss. The selkie managed to sit all the way down in the hot water, drawing her knees to her chest. "Kette, what happened?" she asked, turning to watch him.
Kette kept his eyes averted from her until she was comfortable. He really didnt want to worry her with the horribley racist people in the town, knowing it would bother her immeansly. "Just some thugs.." He smiled to her showing her he was fine, "Nothing to worry about."
"You should be more careful, Kette," she said softly. "You have already been injured." Casticus had flopped down in a chair, stretched out with his head against one of the wooden armrests and his legs resting over the other. The selkie laid her head against the edge of the bathtub, allowing her arms to cross beneath her chin and hand out the edge of the tub.
"Dont worry about me so much Myfi." He laid his head back against the chair feeling his eyes get heavy as his body longed for sleep.
Casticus had long since been asleep, his body sprawled out haphazardly in the chair. Myfi could feel her eyes begging to be closed. Just for a moment, she thought. I'll only rest my eyes for a moment... She laid her head on the side of the tub, allowing her eyes to drift shut, quickly falling asleep in the warm water.
Kette sat up rubbing his eyes and noticed that she had fallen asleep. Shaking his head a little he lifted her from the water and wrapped her in a blanket, nestling her into the soft layers of the empty bed. He tucked her in brushing her hair back with his fingers and went back to sit in his chair and after only a short while succumbing to sleep.
