Welcome to Gaia! ::

She creature shook its head as if trying to shake the bullets off before snorting loudly and disappearing into the shadows with a loud, unearthly howl. Myfi lay still for a while, attempting to catch her breath, her eyes closed. Her lungs felt as if they were about to burst and every muscle in her body was in pain as the adrenaline rush slowly wore off. "I am...fine," she managed to get out in between deep breathes. She pressed her hand to her forehead, shaking and saying, "Th-that thing was a c-cu sith."
The demon sat on the ground beside her and helping her sit up. "Just calm down its gone...." He rubbed her back, truthfully extremely happy to see her. "Where's Casticus?"
"A-at home. I didn't have time to wake him up. Oh God, Kette I'm so so glad you're safe!" Her voice sounded insanely relieved if not still scared. Her breathing was evening out but her eyes stayed wide and alert. "Why was that thing after you?" she asked.
"I was about to ask you the same question." He wrapped her cloak around her and hugged her picking her up into his arms. "Come on.... lets get you some where safe before it comes back." He snuck them inside an empty inn room and set her down on the bed. "Are you hurt anywhere?" He kneeled on the floor in front of her.
"I am fine," she said, stretching her arms out slightly. "Just a little sore. That thing," said Myfi as if she didn't want to say its true name again, "said your name. It caught your scent by our cave. I couldn't let it hurt you, Kette." She shook her head as if to cast the thought away. "But you are safe now," said the selkie, reassuring herself. "We both are."
He placed his hand on her head to affectionately pet her. "Yeah... " He smiled, "Get some rest.. I'll keep watch over you." He pulled his gun back out, "Stay here for a minute while I go check one more time." He snuck out the window falling three stories to land on his feet and duck off into the shadows. He listened and watched intently for any sound or movement. He scoured the area of the inn until he was sure it was safe then returned to the room via the window sliding his pistol back into its holster. "Its safe Myfi... get some sleep." He sat in a chair next to the bed smiling at her.
Myfi slipped underneath the covers, smiling back at him, saying, "Goodnight, Kette." The warm covers engulfed her as she curled up with her skin clutched to her chest like a teddybear. Her eyes fluttered shut, silvery grey hair splayed about the pillow. Sleep quickly took over her weary body, causing her breaths to create a slow even pattern, a din in the night air.
He stood watch over her all night watching her sleep soundly. By the time morning came Kette had curled up in the little wooden chair and fallen asleep with his forhead on his knees.
Myfi's eyes fluttered open as the daylight began streamin in through the window. She pushed herself up off the bed, looking over at Kette and tilting her head to the side wondering, How does he sleep like that? She propped her head up on her hand, watching him with a peaceful smile on her lips as she waited for him to awaken.
The demon slowly started to twitch in his sleep. His muscles tightened and his hands balled into fists. He kept whispering something over and over making the softest noise that sounded like a whimper. He was having a nightmare.
A pang of pity struck in her heart as she slowly got up, kneeling down beside him and draping a blanket over him. Myfi gently wrapped her arms around him, rubbing her hands up and down his arms, attempting to get him to relax. "Shhh...I have you Kette. Do not be afraid."
The demon was trembling now as a tear fell into his lap. "Ryomi.... Ryomi..." He gripped his fists tightly until he jerked awake nearly falling off the chair. "Damn..." He rubbed his head then looked up at Myfi smiling with tear streaks still staining his face. "Morning.."
Myfi did not reply, still looking extremely worried before softly wiping the tears from his face. Myfi looked down, hair casting shadows over her eyes as she held her hand out, his tears shining off of her skin. She was quiet before asking, in almost an inaudable whisper, "Who is she...?"
Kette backed up slightly with fear in his eyes but he smiled hiding it quickly. "She's a good friend of mine... she's like my sister.." He guessed he must have been talking in his sleep again.
"You miss her, don't you?" she asked, softly. "Where is she now?" Myfi sat down on the floor, looking up at him with her chocolate brown eyes. Her face was fixed with a childish curiosity as she watched him from the floor.
