Ridley had not moved from her spot since the incident. She just sat there, looking out at the horizon blankly and with much sadness in her eyes.
Lazarus on the other hand had constantly left one of the windows of his house open because he knew that in due time, she'd be back to apologize. He just shoved a hand into his pocket and sighed, "What a brat." He mumbled, looking out into the sky and waiting.
It wasn't until later on that night that Ridley actually flew down towards Lazarus's house. She landed upon his porch, looking uneasy before she made to approach the door.
But Lazarus already knew that she was coming and so he opened the door for her while leaning languidly against the doorframe, "I see you're back."
Ridley bit the inside of her cheek, she rubbed her arm, looking down, "I'm...I'm so sorry, Laz...I..."
"That was selfish, Ridley." He told her, "Extremely selfish."
She nodded tearfully, "I...I know...And I'm...I'm sorry...I just..."
He shook his head at her coolly, "I accept you're apology but it's going to take a little more than that." He dragged her by the wrist inside, "Have you eaten?"
Ridley hesitated before she shook her head. Lazarus just sighed at this, bringing her to the table to have her sit before he started to prepare her a meal, "Honestly, ruining everyone's day like that. You aren't a child anymore."
Ridley flinched.
"You should have known better than to have a cow like that." He told her brusquely, setting some apples into a pan as he caramelized them, "You worried everyone."
Ridley bit her lower lip and nodded slowly, her head bowed, "I just...I don't know...Everyone is just...I want to move forward too..." She whispered, "So I got a job and...I...I bought a small building only just an hour away from here. I'm...I'm going to set up a restaurant and..."
"Yeah, yeah, that's awesome." He sighed before he made his way to her and gave her a nice hot plate of flapjacks and apples in applesauce.
Ridley wasn't even hungry. Lazarus was just making her feel bad all over again, she looked down, her hands on her lap shaking, "Please..." She whispered, her body trembled violently, "A...Apologize too."
"...What?"
"Say that my big brother will be back...tell me that you care about me...tell me that...I...that you won't leave me alone and..." She buried her face on the table and she cried. Lazarus looked away and cleared his throat, "...Maybe." He murmured, his cheeks flushing, "Maybe I'm a little apologetic...and maybe I do care about you a little...and maybe I won't leave you alone -- if...if you don't annoy me."
Ridley looked up at him, pain on her expression, but she was satisfied with this. She stood up slowly and made her way to him. Her arms slowly wrapped around him as she buried her face against his chest. Lazarus had to sigh at this. How could he resist her when she was being like this?
He wrapped his arms around her as well and he kissed her forehead and then her nose and then her cheek, then he sat her upon his lap and nipped at her ear affectionately, the way he always had when they were young, "All right, all right, you win." He told her, nuzzling his nose against her cheek, "I'll be a better big brother now..." He looked at her in utter defeat, "You honestly don't know the effect you have on people." He said to her. Ridley looked at him, tearful but with new found hope, "L...Laz...I..."
He fed her a bite, "Don't Laz me, you silly...Eat!"
Ridley nodded at this and allowed Laz to feed her and as he fed her, they talked, and as they talked they laughed and they cuddled, and as they did this, they were renewing their bond as siblings.
