The sun was bright, causing a pair of light purple blue eyes to squint upon being exposed to the wonderful outside world. Today was going to be a big day for Lenette Colland and the long blond haired female could only hope it would be a good one. She had only joined Fairy Tail a day ago and now she was just about to take on her first mission within the guild. Seven years she had spent working intimately with her teacher to perfect her water magic. Whilst she was under such training she had always the desire to go forward and join a guild and there were of course many options. Lamia Scale, Blue Pegasus - neither of the two she had recalled standing out to her in any sort of way. The way her teacher had raved on and off about Fairy Tail, having quit the guild quite a few years ago for reasons he still wouldn't mention, Lenette was held bent on joining. From what she heard, Fairy Tail was quite renown - known as the number one guild in Fiore, although also famous for destroying just about everything it's members touched. It sounded like a delightful guild in her opinion and since she had been encouraged to attempt to join it, she took her chances.
Now Lenette found herself stepping off a train and observing her surroundings only for a brief moment before turning to the group in which she would be taking on this mission with. They were a strange bunch and at first Lenette was rather disappointed at the thought of going on her first mission with other mages. She had it in her mind for her first mission to go solo, but the moment she had reached the mission board she had been bombarded by a group of guild members. Erza Scarlet had winded up asking her to come with them on the mission and Lenette couldn't find it in her to pass this up. It was clear that Erza's words were less of a request or a suggestion, but more of a direct order...and it appeared no one disobeyed this woman. "So is this village far away?" Lenette spoke up, causing Erza to glimpse up from what appeared to be a map. "Not at this point, it's only a short walk from here." Erza replied, glancing around the train station. Upon being dragged out of the guild by this woman, she had only just gotten to explanation of what this mission would be in the last few minutes of the train ride. It consisted of a thief, in which was speculated to be a mage of some sort, who had been stealing the villages water supply and then selling it to the people for prices they couldn't afford. The water supply for such a small village out in the middle of no where had apparently been low, so apparently this was becoming more of a crisis every day that passed.
Lenette could only stare at the dark haired ice mage, Gray as he shot a rather antagonistic comment towards the pink haired male, Natsu. It seemed as though the two of them didn't get along well at all, in fact, the first day she had arrived the two seemed to fight non-stop. "Gray stop it. We need to concentrate." Erza snapped and Lenette's lips bent up in an amused smile. "They never quit." A blond haired female by the name of Lucy spoke with a heavy sigh. "You two do fight a lot." Lenette spoke in an indifferent voice. She had been told over and over again that she had only seen a small part of their rivalry. "You'll see. Natsu is the most annoying idiot I've ever met and he becomes purely pathetic with his motion sickness." Gray said, walking along as Erza beckoned everyone to follow her. Lenette could only shake her head, "I doubt motion sickness is something that can be helped" Lenette said, glancing at the dragon slayer and then back to Gray. "It's still pathetic." Gray muttered until Erza him a glare and Lenette merely made a zipping gesture with her finger and threw the imaginary zipper over her shoulders.
It was rather amusing to cause other people's nerves to jump off the cliff, but only when they're easily agitated. This was a bad habit she had got herself in years ago and was an act she couldn't quite see stopping in the near future. Although Lenette was capable of having a calm and sweet disposition, she was also one to be antagonistic and gladly accepted challenges. Fights weren't something Lenette cowered away, nor avoided when the chance was thrown at her. She was quite the energetic water mage, looking at things mostly in an optimistic way most of the time. She was had quite a bit of patience and wasn't one to get annoyed too easily, although when placed in a serious situation her attitude changed.
"Now we left later than usual for a mission because the guy we're looking for tends to appear near the evening. We're getting there a bit earlier than needed." Erza announced and Lenette realized that they had been trudging along through a trail with trees towering around it. Birds chirping, small creatures rustling up trees along with many other forest animals roaming around. It's dry here..but it wasn't like this until we reached this trail. Lenette thought to herself, observing the dry leaves crumbling beneath her feet. Having an affinity for water, it seemed as though rain hadn't touched this forest in weeks. "There's something wrong with this place. Whoever did this has to be a mage, it feels like this forest has been sucked dry." She muttered and Erza merely nodded. "This trail leads up to the village, they warned on the mission paper that everything up from this point is practically waterless." Lenette listened as Erza continued to speak. Apparently, according to the villagers, whenever it did rain the moisture would dry up from the ground within a day. The thought of catching whomever was in charge of this in act made Lenette want to rush into the village and beat the man or woman to a pulp. Perhaps being a water mage made her realize more than any human or mage how important water was. "That's awful.." Lucy spoke after Erza had finished explaining and Lenette couldn't agree more.

The day so far had been different than the shirtless ice mage had expected things to go. After a rather dull morning, he found himself sitting on a train for the majority of the afternoon - their destination not even spoken of until the train announced the station was only minutes away. A second blond haired female had been added to their team, Lenette Colland, a water mage. This was only her second day of being a member of Fairy Tail and with that made this her first mission in the guild and one that she didn't have much of a choice going on. Erza had practically jumped down the girl's throat, showing her the paper for only a matter of seconds using the words, "This is a perfect first mission for you!" and then dragging her to the group. Of course, Lenette didn't seem to have much of a choice to ride along with them, for Erza never took no for an answer.
Listening to Erza talk about the mission, Gray Fullbuster's eyes hit Natsu and merely rolled his eyes. The male was suffering without a doubt as the pink haired male always did when he was subjected to the torture of any transportation. It was always strange to see the guy in this sort of state whilst the moment the transportation stops he'd be back to his feisty usual self. The two of them had been rivals towards one another since the moment they had met and what Lenette had kindly called them as "freinimies" her first evening in Fairy Tail. It was funnily enough rather a true statement, because as much as they fought they were in Fairy Tail and every member in the guild was considered "family". All these thoughts put aside the mission sat in the back of the ice mages mind as he watched the scenery zooming by coming to a stop along with the train. "About time - seems like the majority of the mission has been traveling on the train." Gray commented, getting out of his seat and following the others out of the train. Stepping outside, he took in a deep breath of fresh air and exhaled - it had been a long train ride and one that would be more exhausting after the mission was over. "How'd that motion sickness treat you on the train?" Gray shot a grin towards the dragon slayer, although Erza had thrown Gray a snap which made the grin on his face falter slightly. A small argument ended up breaking up between him and the new girl, who seemed to be slightly sympathetic towards Natsu's motion sickness. His replies were anything but polite towards the pink haired male and although Erza had ended their conversation with a single look he merely smirked ever so antagonistically towards Natsu.
The walk didn't take long from the station and they soon reached a forest like area in which Erza claimed to be the trail that would lead them to their final destination. Lenette's words had him observing th scenery and although it was the season for leaves to be changing colors, this seemed to be slightly off. Although the forest was thriving with life as far as the animals went, the trees and plants seemed to be at their death bed. "I couldn't picture the reason someone would want to do something like this.." Gray said quietly, already feeling wary of this mission. This and the fact it would be a little while before whomever this guy was to show up. "Because the guy's an idiot." came Lenette's reply which came to him as a bit of a surprise. She seemed an easy going person, but her voice was now filled with annoyance and seriousness. "Here we are. I want everyone to be on alert of anything suspicious, alright?" Erza's voice spoke up as they entered what Gray could only assume was their final destination.
The village itself looked fairly deserted, although he did find himself catching glimpses of a few people peeking their heads out of their front doors. "Why is the place so empty?" He said, looking around the place with a raised eyebrow. "I could be wrong..but I think the people return to their houses at a certain time of day." Erza spoke, although judging her voice, it seemed to be more of a guess than anything. Everyone gazing out their windows seemed to have been rather shocked by their presence, some even relieved. It made him wonder if whomever this water stealer was caused harm to anyone who got in his way.

The town of Oar was a small place, isolated from many of the other towns in the area. It was a poor community, but its towns people were humble and took pride in the work they did. The town mostly made money off of its maple syrup business, but with the recent water shortage, the trees started to wither and stop producing syrup. Oars citizens were baffled by this strange event, but soon began to grow suspicious that this was the work of a mage. Soon the pieces began to fall together, and the citizens realized that the wealthiest man in town had hired mages to steal their water supply. He eventually started to sell it back, but the prices were so inflated that no one could afford it. People began to move and leave the town, but some stayed behind to fight for their water back. Although they tried, they could never get past the forest that had seemingly grown overnight around the wealthiest mans mansion. Without any other options, the citizens piled what little money they had left and sought help from the mage guilds. It was shocking news when everyone learned that mages from the Fairy Tail guild would be coming to help. No one ever expected a response from one of the strongest mage guilds.
Natsu and company traveled to Oar by train. The train only went up to Oar once every two weeks, since travel to the town was very rare. Natsu spent most of the time trying to hold in his lunch. He couldn’t even look out the windows to watch the scenery. The blur of meadows made him even more nausea. Happy sat next to him on the train, giving him a comforting pat every time he made a disturbing gurgling noise. The train finally arrived at Oar, and the Fairy Tail mages were able to get off. They were the only people who seemed to be traveling here. The small train station was deserted and seemed to be falling apart. Natsu shuffled behind everyone, his head still spinning. Natsu was so sick that he couldn’t even get angry at Gray, who was making snide remarks about his motion sickness. He started to feel a bit better as his legs got moving on solid ground again. The path leading up to the village eventually became dense and dry. The dirt was hard and cracked; the trees were brown and the barks on their trunks peeling off. Happy floated above everyone’s head, taking in the scenery with a concerned expression. By the time they got into the small town, Natsu felt much better. There was still a bit of a flutter in his stomach, but it was easily ignored. The town was deserted, even though it was the middle of the afternoon. Natsu looked up towards the houses, where he saw a few folks peeking out from their windows.
“Hey!” He shouted out, “We’re here from Fairy Tail!” Happy put his hands over his ears as Natsu’s voice echoed off of the walls. The pink haired dragon slayer scratched his head, “Huh… where is everyon-” He stopped short as something heavy hit his head. A small girl had crept out of her home to throw a clay cup at Natsu. “Leave us alone!” She squeaked. Her father soon rushed out of the house and scooped her up, “I’m so sorry.” He apologized, bowing his head, “Grace, these people are here to help us…” He explained to his daughter. Natsu rubbed his head and glared at the girl, who met his gaze with an equal glare. Happy tried to suppress his laugher, but the humor dissipated as the group took in the mans haggard appearance. “Please, tell us who is doing this so we can stop them.” Erza told the man, getting straight to business. The man looked down at the ground for a moment before looking up towards the red headed woman. Her gaze was intense, and he felt uneasy with her. “The man who is behind this is called Fern Collins. He is a wealthy business man who had just moved to our town a few months ago. Not too long after his arrival, our water started to disappear. He tried to sell it back to us, but it was too expensive for us to afford. I believe he’s trying to drive everyone out of this town. We’ve tried to confront him ourselves, but he has hired mages to protect his mansion that’s just outside of our town.” He squeezed his daughter protectively, “Please… I know we don’t have a lot to offer, but if you can just help us…”
Erza nodded her head, “You don’t have to worry about the reward. We will help you without taking the money.” She responded. Lucy nodded her head in agreement. Even though she needed the money for rent, she couldn’t let herself take money from people who barely had anything. “Where is the mansion?” The man turned his head and pointed towards the east, “It’s about a mile that way.”
Natsu clenched his fists together tightly, his mouth twisting into a grin, “Let’s go!” He shouted out enthusiastically, turning around and barreling through the town in the direction that the man pointed. He was looking forward to challenging the hired mages, and beating them all in a fight. Lucy gasped and lifted out her hand towards Natsu’s retreating form, “Natsu, wait!” She called out, sighing at his impatient nature. Erza soon followed after Natsu, “Let’s go!” She ordered the group. The man watched the mages begin to move towards the eastern part of town, “Please watch out for the forest that surrounds the mansion! It’s not natural!” He warned them.

Fern Collin’s mansion was a massive three story structure, with thirty bedrooms, twenty five bathrooms, a ball room, library, in-door pool, and sat on fifty acres of land. It was excessive, but the businessman could afford it. He would be making much more money when he got rid of the town’s people, who were sitting on top of his cash pot. He knew that underneath the town, there were jewels waiting to be excavated. Diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and sapphires. He would become a billionaire overnight. Mr. Collins had hired three mages to make sure his operation went smoothly. He hired a talented water mage called River, an animal summoner named Phillipe, and even managed to get his hands on a dragon slayer. Although, he had to tell a white lie in order to hire her. “I only take honorable jobs,” was her one and only rule. Of course, he couldn’t tell her his whole plan like he did with River and Phillipe. “I only want you to protect my family! You see, the town’s folk have been acting very hostile to us since we moved here.” Mr. Collins lied. He was worried that she would see through his façade, but she took his words as the truth. He was shocked, but soon realized how naïve the young woman really was. ‘What a shame, someone so powerful to be so naïve.’ He thought to himself.
The day finally came where the town called in mages from a guild to help them. Mr. Collins was surprised that anyone even accepted the job with the little reward they were offering. He became extremely nervous when he learned they were mages from Fairy Tail. He gathered his three body guards together, “Listen now, the townsfolk are sending Fairy Tail mages here.” He said, “I need you all to be on alert, and make sure none of them get into the house.” River smirked and curled a piece of his dark blue hair, “I could always wash them away with a big flood,” He commented. Mr. Collins glared at him, “And give those insects water?” Phillipe leaned back in his chair, “I can summon a few chimeras to eat them.” Mr. Collins shook his head, “No, too messy. Ceres,” He looked at the young woman who was sitting away in a corner, glancing out the window. She had a long, lean figure, with green hair that reached her shoulders and a pair of lighter green eyes. Her outfit consisted of a short green dress that reached to mid-thigh, and had golden straps that laid across her shoulders with different colored gems sewn into them. On her arms, she had torn green sleeves that reached to her wrists and covered the front of her hands. A golden fabric wrapped around her waist, with a long piece of green fabric billowing out of the front down the bottom center of her dress. Her green boots reached to her knees, and had gold detailing at the top and bottom.
Ceres looked towards Mr. Collins, “Yes?” She responded. “I want you to go outside and make sure they get separated in the forest, so you can all have your share of fun.” He ordered. The green haired woman stood up and began to walk out of the room, “As you wish.” She said, followed by the other two mages. She walked down the spiraling stair case and out the front door. Ceres stood at the front of the house, her gaze taking in the trees around her. “How many mages do they have?” River asked, excited. They hadn’t had any action since they got the job. He was dying to beat someone to a bloody pulp. Ceres took a minute to respond, “Five.” Phillipe held out his hand, counting on his fingers, “So that’s four for me and one for River…” The water mage shoved Phillipe, “What do you mean I only get one?!” He hissed. Ceres held out her hand, and the forest around them began to thicken, “Please get in your positions and I will do my best to divide them up equally.” She responded, moving forward and disappearing into the vegetation.

The place was like a ghost town and Lenette's amethyst eyes observed the place narrowed. Faces popped up here and there, peeking out of windows, but the eyes of these people shined with fear. It was obvious the people of Oar were rather caught of guard by the sudden presence of five mages and..a strange flying blue cat. At Natsu's voice, Lenette gazed around the place wondering if these people had even remembered the mission they had sent to Fairy Tail. Cringing slightly at the site of a mug , her attention eventually fell fully on what appeared to be the father of the little girl that had threw the item. The man looked to be in awful condition, hair in a tangled brown mess, his clothing ragged and his light brown eyes looked desperate. Listening to the man explain what had happened, Lenette could only shake her head at the words "mages". Although she was already rather certain that it was a mage causing this drought, it was good to hear it as a fact. With Erza doing most of the talking, Lenette merely took a moment to nod in agreement to not accepting the reward.
Eventually, the man explained where to find the mansion and she watched Natsu zip ahead of the group. "Ah...he's gone." Lenette finally spoke, although her attention was more focused on the finding of this mansion. Upon leaving the man behind, she barely heard him mention the forest that surrounded the mansion. "Thanks for the warning!" She yelled back, following the group. It was a wonder how these people survived in this place, although it was not hard to see they were suffering. The skeptical looks on their faces upon seeing the group of them arrive made her wonder if they had lost trust in mages since these ones raided the place. Regardless, she was more than prepared to destroy these mages and she couldn't help but want to tackle down the one behind everything. She knew it was a mage and she had a hunch just what kind of magic was used to cause this sort of thing to happen. To use water magic, there had to be a source to wield it, whether it be moisture in the air, plants, trees or the ground. Only a small amount was needed to manipulate it into something larger, but it was possible to drain an entire tree of it's water supply. An entire forest though?
Lenette stopped at the sight of what appeared to be a huge wall of trees, but something was strange about these trees. "Is this what that man was talking about? The trees that surround the mansion?" She spoke, catching her breath as she looked up and down. There was definitely something odd. Magic energy was springing off each and every tree that towered over her and the forest looked rather strange as well. "We need to be careful, there's something wrong about this forest. Stick together!" Erza ordered, Lenette carefully observing the trees that almost seemed to be a barrier. The sense of magic throughout the forest caused made Lenette realize that there was no way these trees were nature made. "A mage created this forest around the mansion." Lenette said, the forest surrounding her making her feel more alert than ever. This mere thought had the water mage on guard, gazing around the place as if waiting for an attack to be suddenly launched towards the lot of them. "All of this? But how?" Lucy wondered out loud and Lenette wasn't exactly sure how to answer. She herself hadn't been exposed to much magic in her life aside from her own, although she did know of many types of magic that existed.
Feeling rather claustrophobic by how closed in the trees were, she did her best to keep up with the group. Becoming ever so quiet as she usually did in tight, closed up areas she found herself wanting to escape the forested area more than anything. "Any sight of the mansion yet?" She asked after a moment, although she was fairly sure someone would have said something if there had been a sighting. It left the female letting out a long sigh as Erza merely confirmed that the mansion was not yet in site. What was with this forest? It seemed as though it was never ending and the feel of magic was starting to get stronger. Obviously whomever was conducting such magic was nearby, which only made Lenette tense slightly. Oh what a wonderful feeling to feel so closed in, Lenette had always had a problem with tight places. The only up side about it was that she tended to be more focused when put into such a position.

Lucy wondered out loud and Lenette wasn't exactly sure how to answer.

Amusement touched the shirtless male's face at the sight of a cup hitting Natsu square in the head. For a moment, he could only join in with Happy as he tried to keep from bursting out in laughter at this scene. After a moment, this intense urge to laugh died down and his face had become calm and serious. The sight of the man who was speaking was rather alarming and he couldn't help but feel sympathetic towards him and the small child glaring at the lot of them. Listening closely as the man described the situation at hand, he found himself feeling disgusted by his words. He wasn't exactly sure why anyone would do such a thing, but realized there were many things that people did he would never understand. Stealing water from what appeared to already be a poor town annoyed the hell out of him, especially upon hearing how desperate the man sounded as he spoke to Erza. After being told where the mansion was located, the mansion that held the mages and the man in charge of this crisis Gray watched as Natsu ran off. The group quickly following, he caught the man's warning about the forest surrounding the mansion and merely raised an eyebrow as he ran off with the others.
Approaching the forest after a while, Gray found himself rather astounded by the sight of it. He had really never seen anything like it before in his life. Radiating with magic, it seemed as though there were layers upon layers of trees surrounding the mansion of which he was yet to set eyes on. "Weirdest forest I've ever seen." Gray commented, taking a moment to look. He couldn't place a finger on it, but the forest was indeed different than any forest he had trudged through - perhaps even just a little eerie? Entering the forest, Erza spoke and he could only find himself to nod in agreement to her orders. The forest seemed to act like a maze and he was sure it would be as simple as someone turning a wrong corner to completely stray off from the group. At Lenette's words of a mage creating the forest, he couldn't find it in him to be overwhelmingly shocked. It seemed something highly likely, although he hadn't really given it much thought until the water mage noted it. "No wonder the guy warned us then. If a mage is controlling these trees and we're spotted by that mage we'd probably be attacked by them.." His voice trailed off as Erza shushed him. "The more you talk the more likely we will be heard." She whispered, not only to him but the whole group in general. After her words, the ice mage spoke no more, watching his surroundings carefully.
The trees were rather tightly placed together, making walking through it more annoying than ever. A few nervous grunts from Lenette had him glance back for a moment, and noticing her looking rather pale from what little light lit up her facial features. "Any sight of the mansion yet?" Her voice chimed in, falsely cheerful. It took him a moment for it to dawn on him that she looked like she was suffering from claustrophobia. It made sense the more he thought about it, her having been relatively quiet and unsocial in the train and now this. There wasn't much he could say as the mansion was most definitely not in sight, although he was starting to find this journey getting old. Because of the trees making it difficult to walk through, it was also causing the group to walk at a slower pace. "Oi, Natsu - why don't you just burn a path so we don't have to keep walking at this miserable pace?" Gray finally spoke, wondering why the thought hadn't crossed his mind in the first place. Lenette's voice chimed in, "Please don't take your time - and it would be ever so nice if you made a wider path then the one we've been walking on~" Lucy seemed to approve of the idea herself as she seemed to be struggling with the hanging branches catching on to her clothing. Even Erza seemed to be in agreement to this idea and now everyone was looking at the dragon slayer with expectant looks on their faces. At least if this plan worked, they could get out of this blasted place faster and get to the real problem.
