Mari was rushing; he wasn't sure how, but he had somehow wound up running a little bit behind schedule, and he had a date with Noda, so there was no way he would be okay with being a little bit late- he had to be perfectly on time. He was hurriedly pulling on his clothes (his hair would hopefully be dry by the time he was outside), cursing the terrible placing of the holes punched into his belt.
After what seemed like far too long to be fussing over his appearance (really, Noda must have been fuming by now, if he hadn't gotten fed up and left already), he was shoving his wallet into his pocket while simultaneously locking the door to his apartment, which was proving to be not only confusing, but time consuming. Once his home was safe from thieves, and his keys and wallet securely in his pockets, he dashed out of the building, slowing down as soon as he saw Noda waiting outside- he didn't want to seem frantic and rushed right now.
"Hi," he said simply as he stepped outside. "Sorry I took so long." He grinned, a little bashfully, taking a few small steps closer to Noda.

"It's okay," Noda said as Mari came outside and apologized. "Let's get going." Noda didn't mind waiting at the train station, but he'd rather not; and if they walked quickly, they could reach the station just before the next train came. He took a step back, so that he wouldn't be as tempted to give Mari a hello kiss.

"Ah- okay!" Mari said, nodding. He knew had taken too long getting ready, but Noda didn't seem to mind, so he probably wasn't all that late after all. He reached for Noda's arm, to get his hand out of his pocket, to hold it, but then paused, bringing his hand away. "The stations this way, right?" he asked, starting to walk- he already knew which way, but he felt like he had to say something.

"Hey," Mari muttered, giving a small, somewhat embarrassed smile to Noda. He knew he really had nothing to be nervous about; he had done nothing wrong (other than being just a few minutes late, in his own opinion), but he just couldn't help it! The first few minutes of any date made him feel a little nervous, no matter what he did.
"So..." he started, then realizing that he didn't think of what to say yet. "...You're not cold, are you?"

Noda nodded. "Yeah," he said honestly. "But I'm always cold." Luckily, the train station wasn't too far away; Noda could see it in the distance, and picked up the pace, so they could get there quicker. "Are...you?"

Mari kept pace with Noda, just barely noticing it. "Oh, no, I'm just fine," he replied quickly, then paused for a second. "If you get too cold, you can have my jacket," he offered, smiling warmly. True, he was already a bit cold, but he didn't really mind- he didn't mind too much, at least.

Noda nodded a little, as they reached the station. "I'm...excited for dinner," he said, stepping onto the platform. Mostly he was excited for the fact that they'd be going a bit aways from home, where he'd be less likely to be recognized. While he wasn't going to openly show that they were dating, he could be a little more affectionate with Mari.
