It really seemed like Mari didn't care. Noda couldn't imagine that; he'd be so upset if he was fired from anything. But, he'd never worked a day in his life. His parents didn't want him to, so he could focus on schoolwork instead, and he got a nice allowance if he kept his grades up. "Really?" Noda shook his head. He honestly wasn't interested in doing much at the moment; his best friend had just broken up with him. Going out and running around places didn't seem like the most fun at the moment. "Just...nothing really...exciting," he said with a sigh. "I don't think I'm up for that."

"Oh," Mari murmured, nodding a little. He bit his lip lightly, thinking of something to do- something simple, that barely counted as doing something. "Then..." he started, swaying from side to side a bit. "How about we just stay here?" he suggested, smiling softly. For something that seemed so simple at first, subtly flirting with someone was incredibly difficult.

"That's fine with me," Noda said and nodded a little. He glanced at the table; oh right. He'd been drinking some coffee. Frowning, Noda put his feet back down on the ground and leaned forward to pick up his mug. He could tell right away it was only lukewarm. Noda set it back down, sighing. He couldn't drink cold coffee. He pulled his feet back onto the sofa, and hugged them to his chest. He could get rather tiny when he did this, being so short and skinny already.

"If you do want anything," Noda offered again, his chin resting on his knees, "just let me know." He still felt a little bad for asking Mari to come here just to listen to his sob story.

Noda looked down and mumbled, "You did come out here, so...you know...." God, it was so easy to see why he didn't have very many friends. He was painfully awkward around people he hardly knew. Noda wasn't upset in the slightest about his amount of friends; he accepted it for what it was. Besides, he didn't need many people in his life.
