"Oh," Mari muttered, nodding slightly. That was okay, he figured, since he said that he only smoked a little. He stayed silent for a little while, trying to think of something to talk about; awkward silences were so... awkward.
It took him almost a full minute to realize he didn't know the name of the man (or rather, teenager) that he was speaking to. "...By the way, what's you name?" he asked, a little nervously; he felt a little silly.

"Really?" Mari asked, tilting his head slightly. "I guess they are kind of rare..." It didn't seem like such an odd thing to Mari; his brother had green eyes as well, obviously, and so did their mother- in fact, her hair was an even brighter shade of red than Mari's.
"It can't be that weird, though," he muttered quietly, in English.

Noda blinked; he had no idea what Mari had muttered, but then again, he had said it quietly. He decided not to ask about it, since Mari had said it so quietly; he probably didn't want Noda to hear it. "They are," he said firmly. But, green was a very pretty color for eyes. Noda found he could look at them for a while, happily.

Mari glanced away, hoping his face wasn't as red as it felt. By now, he should be used to people mentioning his eyes, but it still felt a little strange. True, it felt kind of nice as well, but mostly strange.
"Uhmmm, are you dating anyone right now, Noda?" he asked slowly, looking back at Noda. This had been why he had wanted to talk to him in the first place, anyways.

Noda frowned a little. Was Mari...actually asking because he was interested? This was awkward, and not good. Had Mari known he was gay? "Um, yeah," Noda said, and it wasn't as though he was lying. He was dating someone, after all. But mostly, Noda was worried about how Mari could have known; it wasn't just something guys asked each other, not long after meeting.

Thankfully, before Noda had a chance to respond to this very awkward moment, his cell phone buzzed in his pocket. He smiled apologetically at Mari as he pulled it out; it was a text from Ana. "Speak of the devil," he muttered. "It's my girlfriend." He read the text, frowning. It sounded kind of urgent, due to the many misspellings. "I think I have to go see her now."

"Um." Noda didn't know a graceful way to get out of this, so he nodded. "Yeah, that's fine." He didn't know what Mari would write his number on, since he couldn't tear a piece of paper from his sketchbook, and he didn't have any other paper. "I don't have anything for you to write it on, though."

"That's okay," Mari replied, shrugging slightly. He pulled the cap of the pen off with his teeth, and pushed up Noda's sleeve. He wrote his phone number, and, almost as an after thought, wrote his name under it, just in case.
He put the cap back on to the pen, and put it back into his pocket. "There," he said simply, smiling.
