She usually dresses casually, it's easier to do things that way, like running for instance...it's always useful to have clothes you can run in

She has something about her that labels her different form other people, it's not something that you can put your finger on or narrow down it just a 'presence'. Maybe it's what made people subconsciously avoid her, or stare. She hated the staring. Some people would say she was just being paranoid or that they were attracted to her, that would be the natural assumption, but this was different, it felt different. It was as though they were studying her, trying to pin down what it was about her that was different and unable to locate it, then gave up, passing her off as weird.

Sabriel.
20 years of age.
A strong and independant individual.
Some may see her as sarcastic and sometimes a bit too strange.
She is very caring once you get to know her.
She is also one not to be underestimated.
Her clothes always stand out and keep her feeling strong.

Her long black her blew in the wind as she stepped out of the shop. In her hand was a bag of strawberries, which she was subconciously reaching into, pulling out the fruit and shoving into her mouth. The tast was sweet, but with a hint of bitterness, a lot like her personality. As she trundled down the street, her mind wandered, thinking of things greater than her. Thinking of other worlds and parrellel dimensions, debating whether she was born into the wrong one. Her mind was so consumed by fantasy, that she stumbled into a lamp post and dropped her little bag of strawberries. The red fruit tumbled out of the paper and rolled down the path, being crushed underfoot by passers by. Sabriel grunted at her misfortune and bent down to pick them up. It was then that she noticed, someone was watching her, but they weren't staring in mockery, they were looking with an intention. They wanted something and Sabriel felt a chill run down her spine as she looked into the intense mans eyes. He didn't flinch like most people would have when they were forced to have eye contact. She aborted her mission of saving the berries, stood up and scurried down the street, trying not to make it obvious that she was freaked out.
Karin shuddered a sigh as she pushed out of the cafe, it had been a long day, one customer after another complaining about the heat, and repeating the phrase 'air-cons down' over and over, to the point where she just pointed at the feeble machine pooling water in the corner, she swore that if another person had moaned about the temperature she would have just smashed a window and said 'there, that's better'. She knew it was hot, she was there.
The wind picked up and threw a cool breeze at her face, heavenly.
She stiffened, something wasn't right, she sniffed the air testingly, trying to pin down the scent. . .what the hell was that?!

After a few minutes, Sabriel turned around and the man was still following her. She studied him in the brief few seconds that she could see him. His skin colour was off, more a dull grey, not healthy at all and there was a giant scar across his face, distorting all of his features. Sabriel couldn't help but cringe when looking upon his face and she was taken aback by the fact that no one was staring at him, it's not like he could be missed. She turned the corner, her heart beating a million miles an hour. Now she was creeped out. The hair on the back of her neck stood on end and her blood pumped profusley.
She had the sudden urge to run, flee from whatever was causing the air to stir awkwardly. It was an unnatural thing. She should have run, but she didn't, she loosened and began to walk towards whatever it was that she didn't want to be near, she huffed a breath through her lips, stupidity had always been one of her strong points

Sabriel carried on walking, not knowing where to go because she didn't want to lead the man to her house. She shook her head in confusion and clicked her tongue, a habbit she had for when she was thinking. As she pushed passed the people in the street, she was stopped in her tracks. Stopped by something else she had spotted. A girl, around the same age was walking in the direction Sabriel was so desperate to avoid. The same look sat on her face that plagued Sabriels face. A look of horror and confusion.
She shrugged off the uneasy feeling as she strode along the sidewalk, whatever it was, it was close. In fact she should be able to see it by now...if it was visible that is. She swallowed the lump in her throat and stopped, the usual green of her eyes brightening as she scanned her surroundings, the high street wasn't crowded but there were people walking to and fro and plenty of them, she couldn't suppress the feeling that they should not be here, not now, not around 'it'.

Her concentration was broken when a blazing bright light flashed behind her. It had the intensity of an atomic bomb, the light swallowing the street and echoing up to the sky. Everyone around her ducked the the floor as she did. She slowly turned her head and braved opening her eyes, letting them adjust. She could barely see through the black dots swimming in her eyes, but just through the haze, Sabriel could see the man standing almost above her and the light seemed to be emminating from his hand.
There was a sudden flash of bright light from the left but when Karina turned to find it's source a wave of wind and heat threatened to knock her off her feet, she felt her skin tingle and her face burn slightly before she rapidly twisted away lowering herself into a crouch and resting her hands on the ground for support.
The heat subsided but the wind remained, what in holy hell...
She turned slowly in it's direction, keeping low and squinting into the wind.
It was a man, a man...
She felt her body seize up as her eyes locked on the scene before her, how could it be a man?

The man ws aiming his hands towards Sabriel and a small ball of bright light began to swirl and form in his hand. She knew that by some freak of nature, this man was powerful and for some reason he was after her. She knew if she didn't act now, she wouldn't live to have the chance of finding out what was happening. She jumped to her feet, ignoring the stones and dirt pushed into her palms from her weight and hurled herself towards him. Sabriel used all of her strength to knock the man over with a rugby tackle. He toppeled straight away, tumbling to the ground and landing with a loud crack. The only reason her move had been so successful was because the man had been taken so off guard.
The man moved suddenly, an abnormally quick movement across the tarmac, then stopped abruptly not far from where Karina was crouching. She pulled her eyes away from the 'man' and looked lower, a girl, around her age half sat, half stood on the pavement just across the street, the 'man' towering over her. Karina Feared for the girl, and the look on the girls face showed she was equally unhappy with the whole situation, but the look of defiance there shocked Karina. Who was this girl?
The man began to raise his hands and Karina's skin prickled with uncomfort, a light began to swirl together and brighten in the center of a palm, which was defiantly not a good sigh. Karina rapidly pushed to her feet and began to move towards the man, not sure of what she was doing or if she could do anything at all, her movement quickened into a run and she watched as the girl shoved herself from the floor and into him with more force than she would have thought possible, the man's steely expression was caught in a moment of shock before he was forced to the ground the light falling apart in his hands.

Sabriel was out of breath, his elbow had knocked into her as she charged. But she forced herself up, her arm cradling her stomch in some foeble way to stop the pain. As she focused in and realised what she had just done, she saw in front of her the girl. The girl who had been as scared as her, and she too stood up, whilst everyone cowarded on the floor, fearing for their lives. Whatever was going on, Sabriel had an inckling that the girl knew about it. She stared intensly at her, realising that her gaze was practically piercing her soul. The man behind her began to grown and rustled about. He was coming to and he was clearly out for blood.
Karina saw as the girl righted herself an arm wrapped around her waist, was she injured? Their eyes met and Karina, and the girls eyes glowed in her highly emotional state, at that moment Karina knew the man was after this girl. Whatever 'he' was or wanted to use her for could wait, right now anywhere else was better than here, there were too many people, people who knew nothing, who didn't know to run away.
The air around the man hummed fiercely as he lifted himself from the ground, Karina was subtly aware of him in her peripheral vision but didn't spare him a glance, she was running towards the girl and when she reached her she grabbed her arm and tugged in the opposite direction from him and thrust her head as she signaled her to run
