"Yes, that's what I was thinking," Luke said, nodding.

"We'll have to see what the cave is like and see if it's possible for us to even try to attack them directly," Masha said. She began to think over her different options and how they could do this. Attacking people in a cave was one of her least favorite situations to deal with.

Luke nodded in agreement. "I don't like these jobs either. My MO is usually to sneak in and get out. Much harder in these circumstances."

Ghostly Dreamer

"Well, it won't do us any good to worry or complain," Masha said. "Besides, we can always wait them out from outside."

((Go Navy, beat Army! Also, do you want to skip any of their trip to the cave?))

((sure))

When they made it to the cave, around nightfall, there were a few people loitering outside the cave, making food or just talking and drinking.

Ghostly Dreamer

Masha stopped when she could see the men. "Not bad," she said. "We can take them out now, if you want. They've been drinking, I think." She stayed hidden and kept her voice down.

Luke nodded and put a finger to his lips. He crouched down, pulling his bow from his back. He silently moved closer, to get a better shot at them.

Ghostly Dreamer

Masha knelt down next to him. She also had her bow read to shoot, but would let Luke go first, so she could get a better idea of what they were going to be like to fight.

Luke unleashed his bow and struck the nearest man in the back of the neck. He dropped like a rag doll. The others got to their feet and looked around of the source of the attack, drawing their weapons.

Ghostly Dreamer

Masha quickly aimed and shot at another of the men, before drawing her sword. She motioned for Luke to run around and flank them, while she charged at them.

Luke moved more into the shadows, trying to escape notice. He nocked another arrow and fired on the group.

Ghostly Dreamer

Masha was busy going up against the men with her sword, so she wasn't keeping track of Luke. All she needed to do was take out the bandits. It didn't seem to be too difficult, so far. Take out the bandits, recover the sword, and then help Luke take it to whoever it was supposed to go to. She just hoped they'd get paid well for their trouble.

It was a well-known fact in the kingdom that the queen's mother had been searching for a suitable husband for her daughter for quite some time. It was also well-known that Kara had rejected every suitor almost immediately. She wanted nothing to do with the noble suitors, feeling they were all too close to her powerhungry mother. So when Jadyn Terrell had received a letter signed by the queen herself, as well as her mother, summoning him to court, it would have been quite surprising for him.

The day had finally arrived when Kara would meet Jadyn for real. She had seen him at court and around the palace and city, but they hadn't yet been formally introduced. She sat on her throne, wearing one of her nicest gowns, with her mother, her regent, beside her, waiting for Jadyn to arrive. This was a good day for her; her hands weren't shaking and she didn't feel too weak. She hoped her good fortune would continue, and that Jadyn wouldn't be as awful as the nobles she'd rejected before him.

Jadyn's life since the letter had arrived had been all about preparing for this day, and that had not suited him very much. He considered himself to be an academic, and so all the primping and preparing and tailoring, he had found quite annoying. It wasn't that he did not understand why this was such an important day. He certainly knew marrying into the monarchy would be great for him and his family, so he grit his teeth and bared it.

He and his mother arrived to the castle. She would not go in with him, but had wanted to make sure that every hair was in place, and every wrinkle was smoothed out. She quizzed his on the way there, but he insisted he would be fine. Soon, he was arrived and then his mother left in the carriage. A foot man showed him the way to the room where the queen was waiting.

When Jadyn arrived at the throne room, another servant announced him and opened the door.
Kara shifted in her throne to sit a little straighter, but she didn't stand, and neither did her mother. They watched Jadyn enter, Kara curious and Laura scrutinizing.
Kara was nervous; Jadyn was pretty much her last hope at finding a husband, so if this didn't to well she would have the awkward task of telling a man she had rejected that she would marry him, never mind the harm her court strategies would suffer.
Laura watched Jadyn closely, searching for any reason to deny him her daughter's hand. He was from a recently-noble family, which was one black mark against him in her book, though Kara didn't mind.
