"They'll do," Roy agreed and took them from the man, "Thank you." With that, he returned to the bathroom.
Jean quickly changed his clothes and then sat for a moment, clutching his arm.
Roy came out of the bathroom after a few minutes and returned to Jean's bedroom. He knocked on the door before opening it slightly and peeking around.
Without saying anything, Jean ran into the bathroom to grab some pain killers. "Oh...did you want something?"
"No, just to say I was done...Are you all right? Can I help you in any way?"
"No, I'm fine thanks." Jean spoke through his teeth. He then had a revalation. He shuffled through the colonel's clothes and laid hands on his gloves. He took the gloves and sneaked them into the bedroom with him, without Roy noticing. "I'm just gunna have a shower, then I'm going to bed...speaking of which, shouldn't you have turned in already? The spare room is all set up."
"Yeah, I suppose," Roy agreed then released a heavy sigh. "But let me know if I can help in any way." He started towards where he'd sighted the other bedroom earlier on. "Thank you, Havoc. Thank you for the clothes, also. Good night."
Jean closed the door and smiled, having been able to sneak past Roy without him noticing the gloves. He had a hunch that the colonel might try to get away, and that stiffling his alchemy may help to make him stay put.
Mustang didn't mind retiring to bed, feeling as if his energy had been sucked away from him. He sighed as he got in under the covers then curled up under then before drifting asleep.
After a really quick shower, Jean hid Roys gloves in a secret pocket under his bed. He then swallowed some pain killers and crawled into bed, trying to ignore the grief his arm was still causing him. Eventually as the pain killers kicked in, he was able to get to sleep.
Roy woke up the next morning feeling like he'd just been hit by a train--a train full of fat people. He groaned and coughed as he forced himself to sit up in the bed, then dropped back down again. His entire body felt weak and his head hurt at least thrice as much as it had the previous day. The covers which he lay under were once again pulled up over his head.
Jean was still drifting in a deep sleep. It must have been at least noon, before he finally woke up and decided to get up. He yawned loudly before pulling back the covers and stretching.
Roy eventually willed himself out of the cold bed into the even colder surroundings--or at least it felt cold to him. He then got out of bed and walked rigidly to where he'd left his clothes to dry, then went into the bathroom with them and changed. He exited once he was done and groaned in agony.
On hearing the colonel groaning, Jean jumped a little, and moved out into the front room, where he double checked the front door, to make sure that he had definately locked it. Occasionally he would forget to lock it and leave it open all night.
The uniform was still a little damp, but it would make do until Mustang got home and could change there. He carried the borrowed clothing downstairs and left it over the railing before dropping his arms by his sides. And just that chance movement caused him to frown confusedly and begin frisking and searching his pockets. "No gloves...?"
