The three soldiers flinched as the ground collapsed before calling out together. "Sir!! Are you alright!?" They were all quite shaken up, especially since they haven't often seen the colonel lose his cool.

"I'm fine," Mustang insisted. "I suppose I owe you three my thanks. Lieutenant Hawkeye, we need to report Scar's presence within Central. Get another unit onto pursuing him while he's still injured."

"Yes sir!" Hawkeye took off with haste. The lieutenant and the major were still slightly bewildered as to how she found them, as she was no where to be seen when Scar first attacked. Havoc shook off his confusion and ran to the edge of the great crater in the ground and called out again. "Are you sure you're alright, Chief?"

Roy sighed. "I'm fine; my only dilemma is getting across without falling in," he explained. There was a narrow gap at the sides, although the ground there was likely to be unstable.

Havoc shuffled to one of the walls and moved as far over to the colonel as was possible without crossing onto the fragile ground and offered Mustang his hand to help him across, even though he was quite a way away.

Roy watched apprehensively as a few more chunks of concrete toppled down into the abyss created by the serial killer. After a moment's hesitation, he moved to the other edge and reached out, their hands at least a good two metres away. "I don't think this will work..."

"...We're not all that far apart. Maybe you can jump across..." Havoc reached as far out over the pit as he could. He scraped his right hand along the wall to try and get a hold of something so that he could reach out further, but there were no hand holds near him.

"Jump...?" Roy was uncertain of the idea, but maybe they weren't too far apart after all...
"...All right, I'll jump. Ready? One...Two...Three!" he cried before leaping out and trying to cross the gap. He managed to grab onto the man's hand and get a foot on the very edge of the hole, but the concrete beneath crumbled, causing him to fall backwards. |

With nothing for his right hand to grab hold of and his other hand caught in the grip of the colonel, Havoc slipped forward, and the two of them fell into the abyss...

Falling beneath the man, as soon as the Colonel hit the ground, he hit his head and was knocked unconscious.
When he came to about fifteen minutes later, he groaned and rubbed his head, the throbbing within it already irritating him. |

Havoc had fallen deeper into the sewers, atleast thirty feet further down a slope. He squirmed about and hauled himself up into a sitting position, only to find that he had crushed his left arm when he fell. Well, it actually wasn't as bad as it seemed, but it still hurt. He whimpered slightly and took a long look around, although all he could see was darkness.

"Crap...," Roy grunted and rubbed his head as he peered around, trying to make sense of any of the silhouettes he saw. It was only then that he became aware of the stench in the air and grimaced as he clamped his hand over his nose.

Havoc was too consumed by the pain orgmenting his arm to worry about his surroundings. He clenched his teeth together and clutched his arm tightly.

Roy suddenly remembered about the man whom he'd dragged into the hole along with him and sat up. "Lieutenant Havoc? Are you in here?" he called.
|
|
|
|
The lieutenant heard the colonel's voice faintly in the distance. "C...Colonel..." He attempted to call out to Mustang but it came out as an almost silent whisper.
