♦Forged steel sliced through supple flesh easily, gliding through the warm tissue like water through a stream. Lierenos couldn't help the grin on his face as he cut down through yet another wall of soldiers. He was the Head General of the first branch of North Japan, and he always insisted upon being the first out into the battlefield. He wore no armor, only a small holster on his back for his two long katanas, placed snugly between his large feathery wings of ebony. Instead he wore a sort of enchantment, though it could be broken with enough force, it served the same purpose as armor without constricting his movement. His men were right on his tail as he flung himself at the next round of soldiers, spinning and disemboweling at least six of them right away. A group of opposing soldiers stopped in front of his tall, lean form, the fear apparent in their eyes. He gave them a sickly grin as he seemed to twirl the large swords with ease, before going for the biggest of the group. As his head flew into the air, the cowards scattered, only to be met by Liereno's own men.
Another smile graced his lips as he saw a deserter running for what looked like an abandoned house, the wooden boards that covered it seeming burnt and dusty. Licking his lips he sheathed his swords and flew into the air gracefully, dangerously silent and amazingly swift. Not one of the enemys ever left the battlefield alive, as he didn't even like to take in prisoners of war. Why give the enemy food when they could be used on his own men? And so it wasn't out of the norm for him to be seen going after stragglers, especially since they provided more than just the thrill of an easy kill. He landed atop the poor male, like a giant bird descending on a worm. He grabbed the male by his shoulders, and dragged him inside the house for a little sit down.
Lierenos wasted no time in digging into the man's throat, drinking his blood and gulping down chunks of the tender flesh it housed. But he stopped, his mouth wide open before sucking in the air, and in the process, the man's soul. With a sickening swallow it disappeared down his gullet, and he let out a content sigh as he threw the man's body to the side. He couldn't eat too much, it would just slow him down. Besides, he knew he would eat once this battle was over. Lierenos stood up, then, and plucked a few loose feathers from his wings as he looked out of one of the broken windows. He'd given his men the advantage once again, and thus he thought he deserved a few moments to himself. Deep golden hues scanned the area around him, taking note of the scorched objects in the room. What a pity, the house was quite beautiful besides it's burnt features. ♦
