Welcome to Gaia! ::

The sound of having a drink was appetizing, although Danny didn't see what bottles Sera was talking about. She hadn't brought any with her.
"What kind," he had asked, although she distracted him with another string of questions and he had to stop and consider those as well. "Well, I doubt you'll remember in the morning," he started. "And you never asked or seemed to care. But we came to register...with the military. We came to give our helping hands for war."
He didn't force her to sit down, only offered her a chair once again. Having already considered it, his stomach began to growl, so he moved into the kitchen in order to warm up some of the leftover stew like he had said before.
Sera suddenly scuttled away to her room and came back with two large bottles of alcohol.
"I have beer and then Red Rum, which is one of my favorties," she remarked to Danny as she came skipping back in. She still wore a bright smile. "And I do to care," she said as she narrowed her brow and placed her hands on her hips. "I'm scared to freakin' death of you is all," She remarked as if it wasn't a big deal. She knew she was afraid of men, and even in her drunken state, she still knew, it just wasn't something that really phased her was all.
"Anyway, wanna crack one of these open? I'm only gonna use a fourth of the beer for the bread tomorrow, so we can down about three fourths of it," she gleamed.
"And really? Why'd ya wanna do that? Why not stay home, stay safe, protect what you have there?" she asked, finally sitting down at their little table.
"I don't know if you need any more alcohol," Danny replied, although he was finding all of this rather entertaining. At least Sera appeared to be happy and relaxed.
"Will you keep it down," Bowen barked from his corner, but he was sort of overlooked anyway.
Danny brought out a couple of mugs and bowls, setting them out on the counter.
"If I stay home and do nothin'," he told Sera. "Well, then I'm only protectin' my family right now. In comin' here, I have some hope that I'll be able to protect their future as well. I want them to have long happy lives, not just happy lives until things go bad."

((gone to bed heart ))
"But I like alcohol," Sera remarked to Danny. She looked over at Bowen and stuck out her tongue, not liking his attitude.
She brought her attention back to Danny and smiled giddily.
"That's so brave and honorable to you. It seems like something you'd do," she remarked as she cracked open the rum and the beer and was determined to mix them together. "You're so helpful and always looking out for other people, so I can see you wanting to do something like that. Although, I do think it would be very tragic and horrible for your family for you to come and do this, maybe even if they didn't really want you to, and then something happen to you and not only do they lose you forever, but you pretty much die in vain," Sera remarked as she poured a little of the rum over the beer into her mug. "I think wars are pointless and I'd rather just run away from them, but my job is here, so I can't run away. Here, try this!" Sera smiled as she handed a mixed mug to Danny. Her concoction actually was very good.
Danny wasn't exactly encouraged by her blabbering. Admit or not, he was already very nervous about all of this anyway.
"Running away from your problems never solved anything," he said. "And as long as you try, I don't think any goal is ever failed in vain. I'd rather try and fail than not try at all and fail to succeed at anything."
He honestly didn't know why he was telling her all of this. He knew from experience that the next day she wouldnt' remember any of it. She'd wake up her old self...only with a very bad headache. He took the drink though, never having tried anything like what she mixed together before. It was strong, but he liked strong, like a very sweet ale.
"That's good," he said before turning his attention back to the stew, which was steadily warming up.
"Of course oh wise one," Sera mocked slightly, but meant it in a teasing manner. She smiled at his remark on her drink however.
"I'm glad you approve," she beamed as seh took up on her own and drank from it, feeling more than just a little buzzed.
She went up to him and wrapped her arms around his large strong arm, watching the stew as he prepared it.
"Oh and I really did want to thank you for keeping Lizzie today," she told him while she peered up at him with a grin. "That was very kind of you. And also to offer to walk me back home. You're a very good man."
Danny eyed her a moment, always surprised by her next action. But he did wonder if this was really so unusual. He had only known her for a day or so, so he couldn't really say what was normal for Sera and what wasn't. It was possible she did this quite often and if that was the case then she might turn out to be more of a nuisance than a pity case.
He wasn't bothered at the moment though.
"M' only trying to act how I was taught," he replied.
When the stew was warm he poured her a bowl and handed it to her. "Eat up," he said. "I think it'll do you some good."
Sera removed herself and made her way back over to the table where her stew was.
"Thank you very much," she smiled to Danny, but a hiccup caugh the last of her words and she giggled at herself. It wasn't too much longer until her eyes caught sight of brigit.
"Your dog is really cute," Sera said. "I'd like her if I weren't so afraid of dogs," she giggled.
She gave her attention back to the soup that had been given her and beamed at it.
"Wow, I did do a good job on this didn't I?" she giggled.
"There's no need to be afraid of Brigit," Danny assured her. "She wouldn't hurt a fly."
As if in response, Brigit laid down and gave a great yawn before resting her head on her paws.
"Yeah, you did a really good job," he told her, commending the stew. "You cook almost as good as my Momma." He grinned and poured himself a bowl, taking another swig of the drink she'd given him before eating a little of the stew. He didn't know if the beverage and food complimented each other very well, but it was satisfying at least.
"That's one of the first times you've smiled at me," Sera pointed out with a grin. "You're very handsome when you smile. And did you just compare me to your mother?" she pointed a spoon in his direction, but meant so in a teasing manner.
Her attention was drawn back to Brigit while she looked over at the dog.
"Does Brigit do any tricks? There was once a man who made money on the street from his dog that could do all types of things. Does Brigit know anything?" she asked as she sipped at the stew.
Danny found himself blushing a little, although it was hard to tell against his tawny skin. But he was sure he had smiled at her more than just then, but he decided not to correct her.
"If you say so," he replied to her compliment. "Brigit...doesn't really know any...tricks in the sense that you're thinkin'. She just knows how to heard animals, which her kind is bred to do anyway."
Sera nodded her head.
"I see," she replied to him, but then giggled at her own thoughts. "I've never really seen that many animals except for the ones in the pet shops, or the large Tinors that haul carts around the streets," she let him know.
She turned back to her stew, nearly finished with it and then downed her glass which made her giggle. She loved the taste of alcohol and had many bottles stored away from where she had purchased them during her drunken state and then forgotten about them when she sobered up.
Danny finished off his food and drink as well. But now that he had a full stomach and had also gotten a satisfying drink, he was rather tired and wished to go to bed. He couldn't help but suppress a wide yawn, turning slightly so as not to make it so obvious. Still he didn't feel it right to just turn Sera out, especially when she actually seemed to he opening up to him, whether or not it was because she was drunk. Perhaps she would pass out before he would and he wouldn't have to worry about it.
Sera stayed with Danny for a while, enjoying his attention and his company. Every now and then she would go over and bother Bowen just for the heck of it. A little later, she finally bid them farewell and thanked him for the company. She gathered her drunken courage and kissed Danny's cheek, or what she could reach of it anyway.
"Night," she bid him, see you tomorrow.
"Good...night," Danny replied closing the door as she left.
Once she was gone he sighed and turned around to face Bowen, who still seemed preoccupied even after all this time. "I swear, I don't reckon even I've been that drunk before. Keepin' ten foot distance way from me one minute, then kissin' my cheek the next. Even callin' me handsome. Even my Momma's told me I wasn't the prettiest boy she'd ever seen." He sighed, cleaning up a little before looking over at Bowen once more, feeling as if he was just talking to himself.
He only shrugged though and yawned once again, stretching this time, before shuffling to his room to sleep. He pulled off his tunic before collapsing onto his bed.
