Welcome to Gaia! ::

"You bet I'll watch you," Danny chuckled under his breath.
Danny had been around Sera when she was drunk, but the opposite situation had never happened and quite honestly, Danny had never wanted it to happen. Although he was rather buzzed at the moment, he was trying to keep a hold of what little sense he had left in order not to order anymore drinks, other than water. Danny often became very premiscuous when under the influence and the last thing he wanted to do was make Sera uncomfortable.
Sera smiled brightly at Danny as she hurried up and onto the stage. She had chosen her song and then introduced herself with a bit of a giggle. As happy as she was, she was still a little nervous.
She got a few whistles while she was up and waiting to start, then the music began. Sera really liked this band, but all of their songs were old ones from over 100 years ago that they had just redone.
"When my time's up, forget the wrong that I've done. Help me leave behind some reason to be missed. Don't resent me, and when you're feeling empty. Keep me in your memory. Leave out all the rest. Leave out all the rest!"
Sera sang loud and proud, finally beginning to feel comfortable as well. She had an amazing voice, although no one really knew it, even Lizzie didn't know about her voice.
Danny watched from his seat, bug-eyed and blown away by Sera's exceptional voice. He hadn't suspected such projection and verbrato from such a shy and slender girl. He whistled and cheered, perhaps a bit obnoxiously, but he was very proud of her.
"Well you just stole all the glory," he teased whenever she returned to the table. "I don't think I'll go up there now. There wouldn't be much point to it." He laughed.
"What?!" Sera remarked as she ordered another drink back at the table. "No way!" She furrowed her brow. "You have to go up there. How about this. I'll challenge you again. If I win, then you'll go up there. Because I know that I can beat you this time. I watched how you drink and I can beat you!"
She crossed her arms as she sat there with him, she wanted to see him go up there and she wouldn't stop until he did.
"Danny shook his head defiantly.
"You're gonna hafta find another way to convince me," he said. "I really don't need anymore drinks as it is," he chuckled. "I don't think you do either."
He turned his head and watched as someone else made their way up to the stage and then he looked at Sera again.
"Try again, girlie," he chuckled.
Sera crossed her arms and pursed her lips as she pouted to him.
"But I know I can beat you. You're just afraid that I might actually do it this time," she said while she furrowed her brow.
She huffed lightly and turned away from him to see who it was that dared to sing after her. The guy wasn't that bad, but he wasn't that good either.
"I have no doubt I could beat you fair and square just like I did the first coupl'a times," Danny chuckled, playfully moving to rub his foot against hers a moment. "But you see that guy. I'd prob'bly do even worse'en him. I see that look on your face. You don't want me to sing."
He smirked. Honestly he just didn't beleive he needed to drink anymore, but altogether he was fine with singing.
Sera pursed her lips playfully this time as she turned her head to look at Danny. His foot had surprised her, but she moved her's to rub the back of his ankle and a little of his calf.
"I want you to sing. If I were to win, then you'd have to sing and you'd have to sing with me," she told him.
"If I didn't want you to do something, then trust me whenever I say that I'd let you know," she remarked as she watched him closely.
She smirked and then turned back toward the stage, taking another long drink from her bottle.
"I think I'd rather sing by myself, than sing with you," Danny answered. "I know I'd really be embarrassed if you sang with me." He chuckled again and finally gave into her though. Whenever the next person came down Danny walked up to try his own hand at the mike. He became a little nervous at first and chose another old song that had nearly been forgotten by this time.
"Last Saturd'y night I got married, me and my wife settled down. Now me an' my wife are parted....I'm gonna take another stroll down town....I-rene goodnight," Danny sang solemnly and softly. His voice was nothing outstanding, but it was pleasant at least, although he could really only sing one kind of music.
Sera sat at the table and smiled as she watched Danny sing. She really liked how his voice sounded and now that she was buzzed, he sounded AMAZING. She did enjoy spending time with him. Danny was a really nice guy and she was glad of that.
She sat quietly and whenever his song grew to an end, she hollered out and clapped for him, even whistling a little.
Danny came down, feeling a little shaken now that it was all over and sat down at his table once more. The moment seemed to have passed so quickly that he hardly remembered it, but he smiled as Sera as he took his seat.
"Satisfied now," he asked with a chuckle.
He was also very much enjoying himself that evening.
"I'd be more satisfied if I could beat you at a drinking contest," she remarked crossing her arms once more in her little pout while the next person came up on stage. "I want to sing with you too," she told him, narrowing her brow a little more as she peered at him over her shoulder.
Then she remembered as she quickly turned to him.
"But you were really, really good," she smiled brightly, moving to touch his arm and then embrace him in a short hug. "I thought you did great! And I really like that song too!"
"I'm surprised that you know it," Danny chuckled as he downed the last bit of his water and gazed down at her again. He leaned a little towards her as she embraced him and smiled. "Course, I only know old, country folk songs and nothin' else."
He watched her a moment before finally chuckling.
"Awright," he said. "I'll sing with you and then we'll have another contest."
After eating and drinking a little water, he had recovered a little from his previous buzz. Before they ventured on stage together, though, he exscused himself to the bathroom rather quickly, then ordered himself another glass of water upon his return.
"ARe we ready then," he asked as the previous contestant came down from the stage.
Sera smiled widely at his answer. She waited on him, then when he came back she took his hand so they could both go up on stage together.
She let him pick out whatever song he wanted, for she claimed that if she didn't know it that she could just pick up with him and do fine. She knew not to sing too much though, because she most certainly didn't want to outshine Danny. At the moment though, she didn't care too much about anything. She was having the time of her life with Danny and she wasn't worried or scared.
"Danny felt a little guilty for picking the song since his knowledge was so limited, but hoped his choice would be alright. He wondered that maybe if she had the skill she could harmonize on this song and they would do well together.
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine," he sang. "You make me happeee with skies are grey! You'll never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away!"
