Welcome to Gaia! ::

Sera led them back to the elevator and they went on back up to the room. Sera looked at some of her clothes as they went, for she was very proud of what she picked out.
"Thank you again for letting me spend your money," Sera told Danny as they went. Finally she heard the elevator as it stopped and they stepped off onto the 30th floor
Danny laughed and nodded.
"I didn't mind," he told her as they stepped out of the elevator and started down the hallway back towards the room. But it took Danny a couple of minutes to realize he was going the wrong way and had to turn them both around again and head in the opposite direction. "I had fun this evening."
"Me too!" Sera grinned brightly. Sera was beginning to open up more and more to Danny because he was willing to work with her. Most guys whenever they did try to talk to Sera and noticed how shy she was would forget about her and go to find an easier girl. Danny didn't take advantage of Sera, which was something Sera liked to an extent. She did like people to push her boundaries, for it helped her to grow. Danny didn't do anything like that, so Sera only thought of him as a comfort and not as a male. Sera appreciated Danny and continued to find comfort within him.
They got to the door, but Sera's hands were a little full, plus she didn't know if the door was constantly locked or of one could unlock it. If that was the case, had Bowen left the door unlocked for them?
Danny knocked and the door and once again they were met first by the obnoxious yapping of Mitzy who seemed to come bounding up to the door. This was followed by the irritable murmurings of Bowen and his shouting for the dog to shut up. He seemed a little relieved to open the door and fine it was only Danny and Sera and lightly kicking the dog aside he immediately let them in.
"I was thinking you might be Aunt Rose for a minute there," Bowen told them as they walked in. "Then again. Why would she be knocking on her own door?"
Sera smiled at Bowen as they came in and she peered down at the little dog, moving to pet it and pick it up.
"Did we bother you?" she asked the little thing as it pathetically peered back at her. She set it back down and then moved on to put her things away in the room.
"Has your aunt not returned yet?" Sera asked as she came back in the living room with the two boys. She was beginning to worry about this woman if she had left her dog for so long by itself. What could she possibly be doing so late?
She looked up at Danny and then back to Bowen before seating herself on the edge of the couch.
"No not yet," Bowen replied. "She's probably out with her...girlfriends or something."
Bowen wasn't worried about the dog. She had a food and water bowl with an attatchment above that held more food and water. Whenever she ate or drank, more food or water came out to keep her lasting for at least a couple of days on her own.
Danny went and sat himself down beside Sera, nothing thinking of keeping his distance this time. With her growing comfort, he also grew more comfortable 'invading her space.'
Sera likewise didn't think much of Danny sitting so close to her. She listened to Bowen though and thought his words a little silly. For a grown woman to have girlfriends was a little strange, but perhaps rich people were also homosexual. Maybe that was a trait that they all needed to have in order to make money. Perhaps Sera should think on that a little more...
"I bought some new clothes," Sera perked up, but then paused. "Well... Danny bought me some new clothes," she corrected herself. "They look very good too. He was nice to buy them for me. Weren't you Danny?" Sera remarked as she placed her hand on his knee and then peered at him with a smile. She removed her hand as soon as she was done speaking and then leaned back against the couch while she turned her attention to the screen that floated over by the wall.
"What are you watching?" Sera asked.
"I just wanted you to have what you needed," Danny replied, his eyes following Sera's actions. If she was going to continue this kind of behavior, he might considered taking it up a notch, but that was for later consideration.
Bowen had also been following their actions, but said nothing about it, turning his attention to the television. He shrugged.
"Nothing really," he replied. "You can change it if you like."
At that moment the door nob turned and someone stepped inside.
Sera probably wouldn't have noticed if Danny did step any of his game up, for she just considered it the way that friends acted. Danny was a good friend of Sera's, or at least she believed so.
She didn't want to think about whenever they would go their seperate ways, for right now was the moment to live in and she was enjoying it.
She was about to speak once more whenever she heard someone step in. She turned her head to peer around Danny toward the door in order to see if it was Bowen's aunt or not.
A small, slightly hunched older lady shuffled in and stood in the doorway staring at them all for a moment, blank faced and unmoved as Mitzy the dog came bounding up to her. Almost instantly the pungent smell of putridly strong perfumed billowed into the air and Danny nearly choked himself trying not to cough. The woman had short curly hair, large glasses that sat upon the bridge of her nose and tiny eyes. Her mouth was wide, but she wasn't as toad like as most of the people Danny and Sera had seen that evening. She was a good bit leaner as well, but she wasn't entirely fit.
"You think you could give me a call, Bowen before you invite your friends over," she barked in a hoarse voice as she bustled in and set her very large, vintage, floral purse down on the marble counter. "Hello there, Mitzydoll. Don't know what to do about strangers do we dear?"
"I'm really sorry, Auntie Rose, I can explain," Bowen pleaded as he came after her. He seemed to be turning on his charm, which he apparently had a hidden talent for.
Danny watched a moment then stood up, looking down at Sera, then back up at the other two.
Sera stayed seated, for any time she felt slightly uncomfortable or unwelcome she always perferred to sit. She watched the woman, taking in how she appeared and how she spoke.
Bowen's strange actions confused her, but she didn't voice it. Instead, she sat silently as she waited. It seemed in a sense that the woman had acknowledge them, but she had acknowledged them in a way that almost came off rude.
"Auntie, we're out of a job and looking for a place to stay," said Bowen a little pathetically. "No Man's Land had been leveled out. Haven't you heard or seen it on the news?"
"You mean you was in that city," said his aunt, a little shocked, but she actually turned her gaze back to Danny and Sera momentarily.
"You mean, Mom didn't tell you?"
"Honey, your Mama doesn't tell me nothin'! But yeah, I saw it. Terrible for them, eh? Terrible. You two from that city?" She turned towards the other two completely raising a brow in their direction. She was a very fast talker.
"Well, I'm not ma'am," Danny spoke up. "But Sera here is."
"No! If you're staying here, I won't have any'o this ma'am business. Just call me Rose or Auntie. So you was from that city, sweetheart?"
Aunt Rose wasn't necessarily trying to be rude, it was just the way the city had raised her. She was in no way a pushover and she was shrewd, despited her size and stature.
Rose's words were sharp and it frightened Sera. She was surprised whenever the woman spoke directly to her as well.
At first, all she could do was nod her head as she moved to stand up.
"Y-yes," she answered. "I've... lived there all my life," she told Ms. Rose. She swallowed a little hard, unknowing of what else to add in order to tell her of her hardships.
"I-is it alright... if we stay here for a few days?" she asked.
"No need to be scared, sweetheart, I don't bark is worse than my bite...well most'o the time anyways," Aunt Rose cackled deeply. "If Bowen needs a place to stay and his friends are in need to, then I don't mind taking you in for a while. But you only get to stay for free for a week."
"A week," Bowen protested.
"Hey, be glad you gotta week," Aunt Rose shrugged. "And what's your name, big boy, I don't recall you tellin' me."
"I'm Danny," said Danny simply.
"Alright then. Sera and Danny. There's too guest bedrooms and two bathrooms. If you snore I'm throwin' you out in the hall. No loud music, no fights. Don't come draggin' anymore friends in here. Be careful with my kitchen wear, and watch out for Mitzy. She tends to run out in front of you sometimes." She grabbed her purse again and began moving towards her bedroom, which was through the door leading out of the kitchen. "Help yourself to whatever you need in the kitchen, but if you use it up, you owe me some more." She laughed again before disappearing.
Bowen looked back at the other two, who each appeared equally shocked and intimidated.
"I know she's a little overbearing at first," he said apologetically. "And you have to forgive her. We did kind of surprise her. But you'll get used to her very quickly, I promise. And finding a job within the week shouldn't be too difficult."
Sera had promised Lizzie that she'd return to get her in a few days. But it seemed that might be delayed. She'd sit down and write Lizzie describing their predicament.
Also, Sera had never done anything other than work in the dye vats and that had only been for two years. She obviously didn't look rich, so who would really hire her... well her and Danny for that matter.
"Alright then," Sera spoke, understanding after she had gotten over her slight shock. Maybe Sera could get lucky and find herself a rich boyfriend somewhere.... maybe....
No one really seemed worried at the moment so Sera moved to her room where she still had all the food stuffs and retrieved a couple of sandwiches. She then came back out into the living room and sat down on the sofa.
