Welcome to Gaia! ::

"But it wasn't," Danny insisted. "And it won't ever be, I promise." He patted her shoulder lightly. "We're gonna get some sleep and go to the next city in the mornin' when we're rested. Everything's gonna be just fine."
He was a little disturbed by what Sera had seen and now wished he would have looked instead, but the damage had been done. Easily he turned around in his seat again and propelled them further. There lay ahead of them what looked like a small rock formation jutting from the earth. Once he reached it, he parked behind it, on the side facing away from the city, which was also in the shade.
Sera stayed quiet as she listened to Danny. It wasn't Lizzie, he was right. He was also right that it never would be.
But the image of that bird pecking out the entrails of a baby that seemed to be punctured through its stomach deeply disturbed Sera.
After they had stopped, Sera began handing out the pillows and blankets. She found herself comfortable on the floor of the backseat, offering up the actual seat to anyone who wanted it. She knew that she would probably roll off of it, so she took the floor with her pillow.
Bowen, who was restless, got out of the craft to walk around for a moment or two. Danny did the same, but not for quite as long, for he was becoming tired. Danny only sat in the driver's seat and reclined the chair so that he wasn't sitting straight up. He placed the pillow behind his head and wrapped himself in a blanket, but he didn't close his eyes yet. It was too light for him to get to bed any time soon.
"You sure you're awlright down there," he asked Sera, turning his had to look at her.
"Mhmm.. I'm very comfortable," she replied. She rolled upon her back so that she could look up at him, for she had been on her side. Her head was right in the center because she had her feet propped up by the window.
"Are you okay there?" she asked.
She watched him a moment, for he wasn't very far away from her and that made her comfortable. It was also warm down at the bottom of the craft, which would make sleeping easier.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Danny responded with a nod.
He sighed lightly before turning his head to make sure Bowen wouldn't wander off very far before righting himself once more. Sleep would not come very quickly, but he knew that's what he needed. It might not hurt to set up a watch between Bowen and himself, however.
It didn't take Sera very long to fall asleep. She dozed silently on the floor of the craft. She normally didn't make any noise while she slept. Because she was so tired, she also didn't move during her sleep either.
She slept comfortably, even with the horrid nightmare she had about the child that she had seen.
Bowen and Danny organized a watch. Bowen stayed up for the first half of the night, since that was what he was used to anyway, then Danny was awoken for the next half to watch and make sure they weren't visited by any unwelcomed predators or intruders. After a little while though, since Danny figured he was already in the driver's seat, he started up the hovercraft and began driving. By the time the others were ready to wake, they'd be half way to the next city.
Sera awoke whenever the car started, for she couldn't sleep with any noise, even if it was very soft. She laid her pillow atop the center console and then sat her here there to watch. She tried to close her eyes, but didn't succeed in keeping them shut, so she finally sat up a little to watch where they were going.
Bowen stirred lightly but otherwise did not wake. Danny looked around at Sera and furrowed his brow.
"I didn't mean to wake you," he whispered. "I only thought we'd reach our destination quicker...since I was awake."
"I'm good," Sera replied softly, yawning and then batting her eyes sleepily. It always took her a little while to wake up.
"I'd rather us reach our destination quicker anyhow."
She peered up at Danny a moment, then back at where they were going, finally moving to sit up straight as she placed her arms across the pillow on the console. She brushed some of her ebony hair out of the way.
"What do you propose you'll do in the city?" she whispered, not wanting to wake Bowen. "I actually was going to take a train to this city anyway," she told him.
"I'm really not sure," Danny answered truthfully. "I came to fight in this war...and so far it seems to be winning. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens when we reach the next city...At least this way...you don't have to waste your time onna train ticket."
He looked down at her and smiled.
Sera smiled in return.
"Yeah, guess I don't have to," she said softly. She turned to watch where they were going before pulling the pillow into her lap and sitting her head atop it. She would wait until they reached there, wondering how far it was to begin with. She also wondered how long Bowen was going to sleep.
Sera wished to talk to Danny, mainly since Bowen was out, but she didn't know what to say.
As they both fell silent, Danny began humming again. He supposed in the end he really didn't care for silence so much. He liked relaxing, but when he did so, he did so in his room with his window open or outside on the porch, and there was always a little noise going on. He hummed to replace that cheerful noise of nature that was lost in the hum of the hovercraft.
Sera didn't like silence between people much at all and soon moved to sit back a little more and just watch the landscape. She didn't know what to speak to Danny about, for what did she really have to say to him?
She knew nothing she brought up would turn out well and then other things seemed to jump the gun. She stayed quiet and curled up a little more around her pillow.
"You feeling alright, back there," Danny asked after a little while. Sera had been quiet the entire, trip, not that that was unsual, he just wanted to make sure she wasn't being neglected.
Bowen had stirred a little once again and finally propped himself upon his hand, although whether he had actually woken or not, Danny couldn't tell.
