Welcome to Gaia! ::

Danny didn't get in too late and Bowen was close behind him, tired apparently and not up to saying much whenever Danny inquired about his day, if he had discovered anything new. Brigit had decided to fall to sleep on the floor almost immediatel and while Danny was tired, he partly wished to go and see if Sera and Lizzie were still awake. However, he knew it was late, and he had still more physical training to do in the morning. It would only be best for him to go to sleep.
He prepared himself by washing his face and removing his tunic before sliding into the small rickety bed he had been giving to sleep in. It was better than sleeping on the ground though.
Lizzie went on to bed while Sera stayed up with their new pet. She wasn't ready to go to sleep yet and so cooked the large dog something to eat.
"I suppose you're going to eat us out of house and home?" she asked the large beast. He only licked his chops in return though.
"Well, you can repay us by being a good security system, especially for Lizzie."
Sera gave the dog a small piece of what she was cooking and he lapped it up almost instantly.
Sera smiled.
"I'm glad you approve."
Danny slept somewhat peacefully throughout the night. He was actually more accustomed to much more comfortable bedding back home and he was also plagued by somewhat strange dreams about his newfound companions, Sera, Bowen, and Lizzie. The dreams really didn't seem to mean anything. They were just strange.
He awoke early the next morning wishing, as always, that he had had more time to rest. Then he arose and dressed himself then shuffled into the kitchen to prepare breakfast. There was no note of whether or not Bowen had left before him, it was only understood now that Bowen always went in early and fended for himself when it came to breakfast. Danny had to say that he was rather disappointed that he wasn't finding time to make the hearty breakfasts that he normally received back home and neither did he cook as well as his mother. He could only hope that he would return home soon.
Sera and Lizzie woke up early the next morning and they ended up taking the new dog with them to work. Work was a little harder that day because they had to make up for the work they had lost the previous couple of days.
Everyone loved the new pet that the two brought in, for he was very large and loved attention. Aside from the fact that he wasn't fixed, he was a very friendly and comfortable dog.
Sera knew he was kind whenever she had first met him. Normal dogs would have just stolen, growled and ran away, but he had stayed and kept his big snout in her bag.

Whenever lunch rolled around, Sera realized that she hadn't prepared anything for her and Lizzie. Because of this, the two went into the marketplace after lunch, or rather the three of them did.
Lizzie rode atop the dog that they had yet to name, for he more than easily carried her without hurting himself.
As usual, Danny spent most of his time at the rigorous physical training that he was required to take, along with a few technology and weaponry classes as well. He was given a short lunch break rather late in the afternoon before going back in again. There was one thing that was worth noticing, however. He had yet to spot any robotic birds that day, unless they were just learning to hide a little better than before.
Nonetheless such things were the least of his troubles as he was returning to his apartment that evening whenever he ran into a rather large alien which wasn't watching where it was going. The irate creature made a rather big deal out of the fault although Danny tried to apologize as politely as he could. It seemed that an apology, however, was hardly what the alien wanted and Danny was duly shown no mercy. Now it wasn't as if Danny was weak and couldn't take care of himself, but this alien, he or she, was easily twice his size.
Needless to say upon returning home he fixed himself a large bag of ice to place over his left eye and cheek.
Sera and Lizzie went on through the market, getting what they needed before returning back.
Sera stopped to knock on Danny's door while Fidel stood with her. Lizzie went on inside their apartment to start putting things away.
"Danny?" Sera called into his apartment. "I'm fixing a large soup, would you like some?" she asked into the doorway.
Fidel scratched lightly at the floor and then looked up at Sera, wanting something to eat.
Danny was reclining on the couch for a moment, and he hadn't heard Sera properly although he did realize there was someone at the door. Slowly he got up, for he did have a badly bruised leg as well and made his way over to the door, still holding the icebag up to his face. He opened it and peered out to look at Sera.
"What was that you said," he inquired curiously.
Sera took a step back as she peered at Danny. Her hand went to her gaping mouth in horror at his black eye.
"Oh, Danny!" she remarked. "I-I was going to make a big pot of soup for supper and was going to give you guys some. But, I have a few medicines that will help that," she pointed out. "Come over and let me see if I can find them," she told him hurriedly.
Danny raised a brow and cringed a bit, forgetting it hurt.
"Oh...I'm alright...really," he insisted as he brought the icebag down a bit so he could see her. The entire area around his eye and on his cheek was a dark purple and bloody red and swollen. But he could see out of his left eye now so it must have been getting better. "I already put some salves on it. Just trying to get the swelling to go down a bit."
"Oh no, I have something that'll make the swelling go down in a few seconds and it'll help with the brusing," Sera insisted. "Come back to my room for a second," she told him. She turned about and hurried on to her room, trying to think where she had put those things.
Fidel looked up at Danny a moment, almost as if examining him. Then he turned and hurried after Sera in search for more food.
"Oh really," Danny inquired as he followed after her. Brigit followed as well, not wanting to be left along anymore. "I s'ppose it might have been kind of my fault. Ran inta big alien and he had a bone to pick with me after that. I tried to 'pologize after that but I s'pose I might have just been insultin' him even more." He came into the apartment kitchen with her although he was still keeping a reasonable distance from her, not wanting to seem like he was taking advantage of her hospitality.
"I've had worse though. Probably three to four times worse than this."
"That's horrible," Sera remarked as she found what she was looking for and then came over to Danny. "You should take care of yourself," She scolded him. "Now, let me put this around your eye," she told him. "Lean down, you're too tall."
Lizzie looked over at the two and smiled.
Lizzie knew that Sera had to help anyone who was in need. She didn't exactly understand the reasoning behind it, but she did know Sera. Fidel walked up to sniff at Brigit while his large tail wagged.
"I didn't mean to run inta the man..." Danny replied, indeed feeling scolded as he leaned over so she could reach his face. "I saw him coming and tried to move out of the way. And I might coulda fought him off if he hadn't been twice my size and three times my weight. Quite lit'rally, mind you."
Brigit sniffed lightly at Fidel as well then wasn't as concerned anymore. She was more worried about the well-being of her master instead.
"Well still, you said you've been hurt worse before," Sera remarked. "And I know how men can be," she remarked softly as she ran the gel over and around his eye on the tip of her finger. She then smoothed it in and over his cheek gently.
"There, now rub it in, and no kidding, it'll go away in a few seconds. It'll start to bruise, but nothing really bad," she pointed out.
"I used to use this stuff a lot. It works nicely. Would you like to keep it?" she asked him.
Fidel watched as Brigit turned away, but her large fluffy tail resembled something that Sera had fed him. He couldn't help but reach forward and take the fluffy mess into his jaws, not harshly, but enough to taste.
"When you run a plantation it's just hard not to get hurt, miss," Danny assured her as he stood up straight and very carefully began rubbing in the salve she had put on his face. He tried to refuse taking her medicine thought. "Thank you kindly, but I'd rather not take your things from you. If I need it I'll just come over and get some."
Brigit, who was used to young, annoying dogs only growled lightly and pulled away to get him to let go of her tail. She had also been fixed since there were usually so many strays running around from plantation to plantation. The whole family agreed that four dogs was enough.
