Welcome to Gaia! ::

Danny talked for a while to his mother and the eldest of his younger syblings Donovan, who was a mechanic. However Donovan didn't know anything about the robotic birds either. After a few words of comfort and love to his other brothers and sisters, Danny put his things away and soon prepared himself for bed. He could hear the radio coming from Sera's apartment and had heard the voice of the younger girl Lizzie. This was a consolation to him, to know that Lizzie was safe as well. However the excitement of the day had worn him out a bit and so he stripped away his tunic for comfort and settled down into the rickety bed to sleep. He soon dozed off to the tireless clacking of Bowen's fingers against a transparent keyboard.
For the next few days, things went on as usual. Five days had passed and nothing out of the ordinary had happened. The same, usual, boring routine had fallen back into play.
Lizzie wasn't very happy about it, but Sera never seemed to mind, always up for working and making money. Sera was back out in the marketplace, picking up groceries with Lizzie and Brigit, whom she had borrowed for the day whenever she noticed something oddly familar, and something that didn't settle her nerves. That same, mechanical, twisting sound came to her ears and behind one of the vendors, sat a metal bird watching Lizzie.
Bowen had set to work over the next few days with No Man's Land's military council of scientist and technicians not only to put a few of his inventions into play but to also research the strange appearance of these robotic birds. Bowen wasn't the only one to have brought a few specimens in to examine and expirament on.
Danny on the other hand had begun the first week of his three months of vigorous basic training for the military. He didn't mind allowing Sera take Brigit out whenever she liked, and Brigit most certainly enjoyed getting out more instead of being locked up indoors. She also managed to ward off anything that would have otherwise been questionable for Sera...well, most of the time.
Sera stood sill, wondering if this was actually happening. She didn't want to cause a mass riot within the people, for she was fearful of Brigit and Lizzie. She found Lizzie, but also kept Brigit close. She tied a rope around Brigit's neck to make sure that the dog stayed close.
"Let's hurry and get out of here," she whispered. Sera hurried on out with Lizzie and Brigit, glad that the mass crowd never noticed the bird, or if they did, it was after they left.
To her relief, the bird never came after them, it never moved. It must have been recording everyone, not just them. Not only did Sera find this creepy, but she found it a little scary.
On his way home that evening, Danny also noticed a couple of birds perching on nearby lamps or benches. One had been close enough that he decided to take a chance at destroying it, knocking it off the bench with his bag and stomping on it with a heavy boot. He had been planning on picking up something to eat, but not he was a little afraid that he might have provoke any others that were watching and he had seemed to cause a bit of a scare amongst the small crowd that had been nearby. Instead of tarrying any longer, he hurried to the Shanytown he now stayed in, making sure none of the robotic beasts followed him inside.
Once again Bowen wasn't in the apartment whenever he arrived. In fact Bowen had begun to make a habit of coming in very late, but it never seemed to phase him. Danny also noticed that Sera and Lizzie weren't back yet. He hoped they were alright.
Sera and Lizzie returned not too long after Danny had gotten in. Sera had let let Bright off her leash not too long after they got away from the crowd. She rewarded Brigit for being good with a small roll that she had purchased just for her. It hadn't been very expensive, so Sera was fine with giving it to Brigit.
"D-danny, are you in yet?" Sera asked as she knocked on his door.
Lizzie went on ahead to take the groceries into the apartment while Sera spoke to Danny.
Danny was in the middle of fixing himself a sandwhich when he heard knocking and a voice outside his door. Immediately he walked over to open it and Brigit quickly let herself inside, very happy to see her master after so long. He opened the door all of the way to reveal Sera and he smiled.
"Good to see you back, safe and sound," he said as he gazed out at her. He stood back from the door a little in case she cared to come inside. "Saw some of those nasty, metal birds and I got worried. Bowen's not back yet, but he usually don't get back till real late."

((gone to bed heart ))
"W-we encoutered one t-too," Sera said, but didn't come in, especially with Danny standing so close. "T-that's why we came back so s-soon." She looked over at Brigit a moment though.
"I didn't want B-Brigit getting hurt, or Lizzie. So I-I'm fixing to head back in-into the market to finish s-shopping. C-can you keep an e-eye on Lizzie for me p-please?" Sera asked.
Danny raised his brow.
"Sure, I can keep an eye on her," he replied with a nod. "But are you sure you wouldn't rather take Brigit back with you? I'd hate for you to be out there by yourself. And Brigit's a tough girl. She can handle herself if she needs to. You can take her if you like."
He smiled down at his dog, patting her head and smoothing out her fur a little.
Sera shook her head.
"No, I was actually really a-afraid for her whenever we were out. I would f-feel horrible if she were s-stepped on in a mass of people that freaked out a-at a bird," Sera said. "T-thank you t-though. Just watch L-Lizzie for me p-please," Sera said.
She then turned and made her way out, still having a little bit of money in her pocket.
Danny was about to protest again but Sera hurried off to quickly. He sighed lightly knowing Brigit would have been just fine. She was as herding dog, being amongst massive crowds of heavy livestock was something she was greatly accustomed to. So what was the difference between cattle and a multitude of people to her. He shrugged though, patting her head once more before meandering across the hallway to Sera's apartment, which was left open a little ways in order to check on Lizzie.
"You alright," he called, pushing the door open a little more. "Want me to fix you some lunch or something?"

((eat))
Sera continued on downstairs and out to the market. She ran over the list of things she needed in her head so as to make sure she wouldn't forget anything or be distracted. But she had picked up a small pan that she put into her satchel, just in case anything decided to attack.

Lizzie looked up, for she had just finished putting the little amount of groceries away that they had purchased.
"Oh, fancy seeing you in here. I'm not sure if these walls know what a man looks like, and especially a handsome man at that," Lizzie giggled as she saw Danny come in.
"But no thank you, I think I'm alright at the moment."
Danny raised a brow as he stepped inside and peered over at Lizzie. It seemed there would never be an end to her flirtatious mannerisms. At first Danny had thought it was just cute ignorance, but after a while it started to become old...and a little creepy. Despite the culture here, things were different back home, old-fashioned.
"Don't start that again, missy," Danny said with a sound of reprimand in his voice although he was not angry.
Now if it had been Sera saying these sorts of things...then it might have been different.
Lizzie pouted lightly.
"Awww... why not?" Lizzie went on as she came on over to Danny. She peered up at him and placed her hands behind her back. She couldn't help but smile at him after a while.
"Would you like me to make you something hot to drink? Or would you perfer something cold? Perhaps something cold to sooth over your hot body," she giggled and then scurried on to the kitchen.

Sera continued on through the market, picking up the things she needed and never spotted another robotic bird. She was glad as well, for she didn't feel like fighting anything off.
Danny only rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"I'm fine thanks," he replied, wondering if he was supposed to stay in the apartment with her or if he would be alright just checking in on her every once and a while.
After realizing her master wasn't coming back immediately, Brigit came after Danny into Sera and Lizzie's apartment to see what he was up to.
