Welcome to Gaia! ::

Sera put both of their glasses away so that Danny could start upstairs. Once he was gone, she started to her room as well, collapsing on the bed whenever she reached it. She was very tired, but also very happy.
Danny slept until early the next morning as he usually did and got up to eat a little breakfast while he waited on Sera to wake up. Whenever she was ready he would take her to check on Fidel, sure she would like to know the condition of her poor pet, as would he. The thought of those birds that had attacked not long ago still pressed upon his mind too, as he wondered where they had come from and who was still directing them.
Sera woke around ten that morning, for she had slept peacefully and wasn't bothered at all. She hadn't slept that well in a long time. She didn't want breakfast that morning, only a cup of coffee. Then, within a few minutes, she was dressed and ready to go see Fidel.
Danny had gone out to tend to the animals and had come back in to read the paper. He had done a few other things as well, not having expected Sera to sleep so late, for he was up rather early, as usual. But he was happy to finally get to their main purpose that morning. They took his old truck out to Dr. Cunningham's house to check on Sera's dog. He hoped the Fidel would be doing much better that day.
Sera very much hoped that Fidel would be better and she was a little quiet that morning as she sipped on a cup of coffee while they made their way out to the vets' home.
"How-how did you sleep last night?" Sera finally asked after a few moments of silence.
"I slept pretty good," Danny replied with a smile. "How about yourself? Must have slept pretty good." He chuckled.
They pulled up to Dr. Cunningham's in a few minutes and slipped out of the hovercraft. He went aorund to get her door so she could get out as well.
"I slept very well, thank you," Sera told Danny. She was a little surprised when she looked up and suddenly Danny was opening the door for her. Easily, she slipped out and took his hand as they started up to the door, she was the one to knock this time and they stood there to wait.
"That's good," he said. "You should be well rested then." He smiled as they headed up to the door and waited for someone to answer.
It was a moment or two before the door was answered by the Cunningham daughter and she let them in.
"Dad will be with you in a few minutes, can I get you anything," she asked them as she showed them to the sitting room where they could wait.
Sera declined anything from the girl, but thanked her for letting them in. She had just finished up her coffee a few minutes ago and was pretty good food and drink-wise.
"So what are we going to do today?" she asked Danny while they sat there. She obviously was full of energy.
"Oh...I'm not sure," Danny replied as he tried to think of what else there was to do around. "Well, there's a local restaraunt we could go eat at tonight," he told her. "I think you might like it....Have you ever ridden a horse before? We could go horseback riding?" He didn't know if she'd be interested or not, but he figured it might be a new experience for her and he hadn't ridden in a while.
Sera perked up at the restaraunt, but not so much over riding.
"I've never ridden a horse... I've always been afraid to..." Sera told Danny. "I don't know if riding is such a good idea..." she whispered. She would probably freak out the second she tried and end up spooking the horse or something. She could picture that not ending very well.
"Well, would you at least like to try," he asked her. "You never know it you'll like it unless you try it. We've got some real docile horses. You could try riding our old mare, Clementine. She's real easy-goin', gentle and patient. Nothin' spooks her either."
He raised a brow, thinking Sera really might like it if she just learned how.
"I don't know..." Sera replied to Danny. "I'll have to think about it." And that she would. Although she knew in the end her answer would probably be no.
She was eager to see Fidel and hoped that he was well. Of course, with a good night's rest, being indoors, and full meals without being chased away, she was certain that he had to have been in better spirits than the day before.
"Alright," Danny replied with a shrug, but he began trying to think of other things she might like to do instead since he knew just going out to eat wouldn't take up much time and that would be done much later that evening anyway.
It was only a few moments more anyway before Dr. Cunningham came in to see them.
"Ah, hello there," he said with a smile and shook both their hands. "I suppose you're here to see Fidel? He's in one of our indoor waiting rooms. This was please." He turned and led them out and around the corner into one of the smaller rooms towards the back of the house. Fidel was laying on a comfy rug on the floor, resting. He was bandaged up all over, but otherwise was in good health. There were a couple of other dogs in the room, but they were small, docile and also injured so no one was pushing anyone around.
Sera came to see him and as she stepped up to him, his eyes opened, but he didn't lift his head. His massive tail began to beat the floor to show his happiness to see her and Sera went over to him.
Easily, she squatted down to him and he placed his head in her lap. She stroked the side of his face and around his large, floopy ears. He closed his eyes once more to rest and Sera knew she couldn't hold this position for long as she showered him with affection.
"He's eating okay?" Sera asked as she looked back to the vet, happy to see how well Fidel was doing, even in his current state.
