Welcome to Gaia! ::

"I-it's n-not u-ugly," Sera stammered as she shied away from his outstretched hand. "I-It'-s li-ke m-my f-fath-er's ha-ircut..." Sera stated and moved away still. "N-no t-th-ank you," she told him. "I-I ha-ve m-my o-own..."
She still went for the door though. Only it was closed, so she couldn't make a quick escape.
Danny hadn't said anything about her story over the bird... and wondered if he cared... She had tried to take care of Brigit too... she had even doctored her wounds a little.
"Apparently somethin's bad about that," he muttered, sputtering a small sigh as he looked at the metal carcasses on the floor.
She wasn't going to help him clean up at least. It was her fault that they had gotten in the apartment anyway, although he hated to place the blame on anyone. He still didn't know how she had gotten in here anyway. He was quite sure he had locked the door before leaving.
"Ok then," he said, tossing his stuff aside. "Go clean yourself up then. I don't want you injurin' yourself any more."
At that he moved out of the kitchen area to the small closet by the bathroom to see if he could find a broom. But it didn't appear there was one in the closet. Maybe there was one in the supply closet down the hall...if there even was a supply closet.
Sera looked down and scuttled off to her room at his words. She closed the door behind her and went to doctor up her hands. She knew that she was badly hurt, for down both her hands was a large, long gash that was flowing.
She had been trying not to drip on the floor and had pretty much succeeded a little bit. Where she had dripped in the hallway, she would go back and scrub down.
Now though, she needed to see to her hands.
She washed them in her sink, and then wrapped them both across the palms and just hoped that her fingers would stop, for she didn't have any wrap to do them in. She didn't want to borrow Danny's things anyway. She had done enough concerning him for the day.
When Danny was unsuccessful in find a broom anywhere he sighed and resigned to returning to his room and trying to sweep up the metal bits with a shoe and a cookie sheet. He had made his way to the second bird whenever Bowen suddenly came barging into the room. The inventor was looking quite pleased with himself and was about to say something whenever he realized Danny was down on the floor for some reason.
"What are you doing," he asked. "And what on earth is that? Metal scraps?"
He put his bag aside and went to bend over the mess Danny was cleaning up. "Robotic birds?...Don't throw this away!" He said suddenly. I want to look a them."
"Be careful," Danny warned him. "These pieces are really sharp."
"You cut your hair," Bowen observed only a moment later. "That's a rather dramatic...improvement. I like it. You look much better."
"Thanks...I guess...but Sera apparently doesn't think so. Says I look like her Pa...but I don't really know if that's an insult or a compliment."
Once Sera was done with her hands, she filled a bucket of water and soap and then made her way out into the hallway with a scrub brush to get the blood from the wood. She knew it probably had already dried.
She got down on her hands and knees, pulling her skirt back so she wouldn't be so awkward. She began to scrub, noticing a few more than she thought. Once she cleaned one place, she moved on... but then saw that where she had just cleaned there was a new blood splatter.... and another...
Sera looked up and suddenly the camera on the bird's head fixed its lenses on her. Sera stayed frozen for a moment, unknowing of what to do. She wanted to scream, but she was utterly stopped, her hand in mid-air. The bird sat quietly.
While Bowen insisted on keeping some of the bird parts as trinkets to inspect, he immediately began relaying his entire day to Danny, putting a lot of his friend's curiosities to rest.
"I went to the office early today in order to talk with some of the officials personally," he began. "I took my blue prints and a couple of small prototypes and explained everything to them. I even showed them the new invention I concocted last night, something to help with the fires around the city, which I've heard are very common and very dangerous. They loved everything! They were so impressed and they've decided to allow me to start working in the labs sometime this week. Of course, I'll be given a tour first, shown the ropes, introduced. But, ye gods! I'll be working with their best scientists and engineers!"
"Well congrats, my friend," Danny beamed. "That's good to hear."
He was interrupted though whenever ever he heard Brigit huff a defensive bark and plod over to the door. She scratched at the wood, growling at something. Danny wanted if she wanted to go out for something else, but she was acting rather strange.
Sera stayed frozen in the hallway. She stared at the bird and the bird just sat there, recording her. It stayed in place, but began to raise its wings as if it were going to attack.
Sera recoiled just a little bit and suddenly hurled the brush she was using at it as she screamed. The bird got away from the brush and suddenly darted at her while Sera made a run for her room.
Since Brigit persisted to growl and scratch at the door, Danny finally got up and went to open it to see what was wrong. He peered out into the hall, hearing the rush and thud of feet and saw Sera rushing away, although it took him a moment to see what she was running from exactly. Brigit squeezed out immediately and went chasing after the mechanical bird, barking fiercely.
"Brigit, hush," Danny exclaimed. She had been barking enough already today after all the excitement, it seemed, and he didn't want her getting thrown out for causing such a rucus.
Sera continued to hurry toward her door, but the bird already had taken off after her once more and she was nailed in the back of the head once more, opening up the wound from earlier that day.
Sera scretched out in pain and swung around at the bird, hitting it against the side and sending it up against the wall.
It tried to recover, but Sera hoped that Brigit would get after it first.
Brigit indeed took her chance and pounced on the little bird before it could get back up. But she yelped still, the birds sharp wings and talons piercing her paws and face. Danny tried to get her off of it, having grabbed the skillet once more so he could smash the creature himself and even Bowen had wandered out into the hallway wondering what on earth all the commontion was.
Sera moved away, watching Brigit and the bird. She wasn't wearing shoes, so it wasn't as if she could stomp it. She took Brigit from Danny though, seeing she had gotten hurt once more.
She had just cleaned the dog up this morning and wondered if it was accustomed to getting itself into trouble... for perhaps that was the reason for.... her leg.
Danny successfully smashed the bird into the floor, hoping he didn't draw the attention of any other tenants trying to rest peacefully in their room. He was starting to get tired of this vermin. Where on earth were they coming from and what did they want to do with him and his new friend.
Once the bird was taken care of, Bowen came to inspect the little mechanic creature for anymore evidence while Danny turned to Sera and his dog.
Sera finally let Brigit go, for she had been holding on to her very tightly so that the dog wouldn't get away.
She stood up, letting her hand go to the back of her head. She was still bleeding and so hurried back to her room without saying anything. All she knew was that she was in pain and needed to tend to it.
Brigit hurried over to sniff and snuff around the bird while Bowen tried to push her away. A couple of the tenants stuck their heads out of their rooms and glared down the hall way at the four - now three - in the hallway who were making so much racket.
"Shut that dog up," one of the them demanded. "Don't make me call Lady Trena!"
"I'm really sorry," Danny insisted as he lost sight of Sera. "We didn't mean it. Something got in the hallway that spooked her. She's really very quiet!"
He said all of this hurriedly so he could step in and see if Sera was alright since she had rushed away, holding the back of her head. In her hurry she had left the door cracked and he pushed it open but only came in a couple of feet since he was uninvited.
"Are you alright," he called.
Sera had the water running in the sink and couldn't hear Danny at first, but thought she heard someone mumble something. She switched the water off, but applied the cold cloth to th back of her head as she turned about, able to see the door from the kitchen sink.
"I'm sorr-y, w-what did you say?" she asked him as she supported herself by the counter. She wasn't certain if she liked him in her apartment or not. His might have been nasty and dingy, but Sera's was painted in bright colors, each room some new color. The entry-way with the door was done in purple, the kitchen a yellow tone, the living room a soft blue, and the bedrooms were different pastel shades.
