Welcome to Gaia! ::

Brigit stood still glaring at the door, growling deeply in the back of her throat. She grunted lightly as the pot was set atop her head. She didn't know what it was for or why it was being placed atop her head. Turning her head she peered up at the two-legs, Srra. Then she turned her attention back to the door where the two metal birds were, wondering what might happen next and wishing her master would return soon.
The pot was mainly to protect Brigit's head in case the birds suddenly burst through the door. Sera was already upset that seh had allowed Danny's dog to be hurt, even if just a little bit.
She moved back into the corner of the kitchen and sat down, knowing it better to wait. She didn't want to leave the apartment only to have Danny come in without knowing what was going on, then opening his bedroom door.
She'd stay and sit with Brigit, holding the dog close to her as she kept her skillet close by her side.
Danny didn't return until late that afternoon, not completely sure if he was very happy with his new apperance or not. His long, course hair, which had once been below shoulder length had now disappeared, cut short to where he couldn't even run his fingers through it anymore. It also made it look much more unkempt. At least the weight of his long hair had kept it some what tame. But it had been mandatory for them to cut it, military standards they said, and he supposed he couldn't argue. He had also gotten some new clothes while he had the chance, since he had been wearing the same outfit for quite a few days now. He had not shaved though, another thing they had wanted of him. He just felt he looked better with a little bit of a beard.
Otherwise all he had done that day was endure several more tests. This time he had gone through several tests of stamina and fitness, testing his eyesight and hearing. Afterwards they had taken a blood test as well. Within the week he would begin basic training.
The strange thing though was that he had not seen Bowen all day, not even at the military office. He was rather perplexed as to what had become of his friend and he hoped that Bowen was alright.
What was even more confounding, however, was when he arrived at his apartment to find it unlocked, when he was quite sure he had locked it before leaving. Cautiously he opened it and peeked in, hoping Brigit was alright. What if someone had broken in and hurt her? But he was met by a rather excited and happy Brigit almost immediately. She plundered over to him and he leaned over to pet her happily, but did not lose his guard.
"Someone in here, girl," he inquired of his dog as if she could answer.
Sera sat over in her little corner and looked as Danny came in. Brigit had gotten away from her, but she thought she had a hard grasp on her.
"T-there a-are b-birds in your r-room," Sera spoke as she pointed toward his room, but she kept a good hold on her skillet. She could barely see him, but she heard his voice.
Whenever Danny came into view, Sera nearly had a heart-attack. Danny looked... so much like her father, especially with the new hair-cut. She felt trapped and knew that she needed to get away. She thought she might begin hyper-ventilating in a few moments.
"Birds," Danny said, jumping a little at Sera's voice. He hadn't realized that she was even in the room and so she startled him. He placed a hand over his chest and sighed heavily, regaining his composure a moment. "What are you doin' in here anyway," he asked. He didn't say it harshly or rudely, but very curiously as he walked over to his door which was closed.
Of course, he had no idea what exactly she meant when she said birds so he opend it casually to look inside at what could possibly be so intimidating to her. Almost immediately the metal vermin darted out, one of their sharp-tipped metal wings catching his cheek. He yelped loudly jumping back.
"What the-" he exclaimed flailing his hands at the birds. "Ye gods, what are these things?"
"Why'd you let them out?" Sera cried as she darted up with the skillet to try and beat at one, but was caught by the other. "Kill them! They kept flying in through the window!" she remarked, hurrying about to try and attack the birds while they tried for Danny, Sera, and Brigit.
"They'll hurt you... and record you! They have these horrible little camera things for a head."
"Well I didn't know you meant dangerous, metal birds," he cried swinging at them with his hands still. "You just said birds!"
As she got closer, he suddenly snatched the skillet out of her hand and swung it hard at the mechanical fowl. He sent the creature sailing towards the wall where it impacted with a clang and fell to the floor. One down one to go. And since he had stolen Sera's weapon he made sure to keep it away from her. Brigit was snarling and barking once again, trying to snatch the terrible beast that was flitting about the ceiling.
Without anything to protect herself with, Sera shrunk away, afraid of the metal bird. She'd let Danny take care of it.
"Oh, watch out for the one on the floor, I smashed it earlier," she warned him, still trying to make her way to the door.
She watched Brigit, hoping that the dog wouldn't get hurt.
Danny cursed several times, ducking out of the way of the menacing, metallic avian, swinging at it with his small skillet. Brigit dove for the one he had just previously knocked out of the air, clasping it between her teeth and shaking it fiercely to make sure it was rightly done away with. The other bird, however, was trying to be smart and was staying just out of Danny's reach. Seeing his problem, he tried to think quickly, although thinking quickly wasn't one of his stronger points. He didn manage to consider throwing water at the bird and rushed to the sink for a cup of water. Of course, he didn't take into consideration that such outdoor gadgetry would most likely be waterproof. It was worth a try anyway and he jerked the cup in the bird's direction in hopes that it might be splashed and it would be electricuted.
Sera stayed down, but it was obvious that water wasn't going to work on the bird, for it seemed unphased as it only dove down toward Brigit. While the bird was distracted, Sera took her chance and latched onto the bird's tail, then suddenly bashed it a few times against the floor until its little camera head popped off.
She hadn't taken into account that his tail was just like a sword to her hands. She pulled back to look at her bloody hands. They stung, but she was just glad that the bird was out of the way.
Now they just needed to clean up the bodies.
Brigit took her chance to pounce on the second downed bird as well after Sera backed off. Danny sort of frowned at the failure of his hasty plan but shrugged it off in order to tend to his injured companion.
"Are you alright," he asked Sera, noting her cut up hands. "I've got some bandages and rubbing alcohol." He set his cup and skillet aside before moving to fetch his bag from his room and bring it back into the kitchen/living area. As he walked in he took the time to speculate the three metal carcasses on the floor. "There were three of these suckers? Where'd they come from?"
Sera took a step back from Danny, for she was still fearful of him, no matter if she had helped defend him from a bird or not. She took her bloody hands over to the sink in order to wash them, although that stung and she had to bite her tongue for a moment.
"I came over h-here this morning... to return the plate of breakfast to you... I o-opened the w-indow whenever I came in. I o-opened the window be-because it was so stuffy. T-then as- I was cleaning the plate, the bird came in. B-brigit and I fought it o-off, bu-but then two more came in an-nd we herded them i-into you-r room.." she said.
Danny wasn't sure if Sera was shying away or if she just wanted to clean her hands off first, which he could have done for her. He supposed she wanted a little of her independance and he was fine with that. Still he followed after her though, not realizing that she was especially 'fearful' of him.
"Yeah but...I never seen them before," he pressed. "Nothing like them before. I still want to know where they came from and why they decided to show up at my apartment...well...mine and Bowen's." He watched her a moment. "Here put some of this on. It'll sting but it'll clean it properly. Don't want it gettin' infected or nothin'."
"I-I c-can clean it b-back at m-my apartment," Sera remarked as she scurried away from him and toward the door. "I-I shouldn't have been in here in the first place any-way..." She stopped at the door though to peer at him, making sure she was a considerable distance from him.
"T-the bird showed up a-at my apa-rtment la-ast night..." she told him.
It was now that Danny noticed her skittishness and he raised a brow as he watched her. He wondered what was wrong with her really, if he smell funny or maybe she didn't like his new appearance.
"Geez...I mean I didn't like ma haircut either, but I didn't think I was that ugly," he said. He was slightly joking, but also wanted to know what her problem was. Even though he knew she had been rather...inebriated the night before, it still seemed a little bi-polar of her to be so friendly one moment and fearful the next. "Well...you can take all this with you if you like then and do it yourself." He held his rubbing alcohol, cotton balls and bandages out towards her.
