Welcome to Gaia! ::

Sera made her way back to her room and put up the half empty bottles that she had brought back with her. She stored them where she put the others.
She would get up and make the bread early since she knew she wasn't due in at work until around noon.
She wondered if Lizzie were alright, for it was late. She had almost expected her to call saying she was homesick, but of course Lizzie wouldn't do such a thing.
Sera went over to the window in order to shut it and a metal bird suddenly hopped onto the sil before she was able to shut it.
"Off with you!" she remarked to him, trying to shoo him away. The bird's head, which looked like a video camera fixed itself on Sera's image. Sera was slightly distraught by this, but figured that she must be a little more drunk than she had imagined.
The bird fluttered away with its heavy wings and Sera closed the window.
Despite Bowen's muttering and constant scribbling, Danny fell to sleep almost immediately, not having had very efficient rest in the past few days. He had to be up early th enext morning to return to the military office, as well as Bowen, but since his companion was so irritable at the moment he decided not to say anything, supposing the inventor would go to bed whenver he liked.
Danny was up early the next day fixing breakfast for the two of them. There was no sign of Bowen in the sitting room and Danny assumed he had finally gone to bed. That is, until he found a note left by his friend saying that he had left early, urgent business! Danny had no idea what sort of 'urgent business' Bowen could be on in a city where he didn't have much business to begin with, but since there was no one around to ask, supposed he would get no answer until later. He ate his breakfast in silence, rather enjoying it really. Once he was done he took Bowen's share of breakfast over to Sera's apartment and left it outside for her, sliding a note under the door. He took Brigit outside briefly before leaving her in the apartment once more and setting off for the military office himself.
Sera awoke the next morning with one of the worst headaches she had ever had. She remembered most of the previous night and groaned to herself as she rolled over in her bed.
She drug herself from bed and was beginning to make breakfast whenever she heard something at the door, almost like a fragile sound. Then the soft sound of paper on the wooden floor as the note was slid under.
Once she read it, she realized to whom it was from and opened the door once she knew the footsteps had walked away.
She found the food, still hot sitting, just waiting on her and she gladly took it. She was very hungry indeed and was glad for Danny's hospitality. She didn't remember anything about any physical interaction with him, but mostly just the nice conversation she had.
Once Danny was gone, Sera went over to his door, wanting to return the plate, but then realized that no one was there... which she was very glad about. She used the same trick that he had on her door, using a small bobby pin that she had placed in her hair.
Whenever the door was opened, she suddenly remembered Brigit.
Out of desperate hope Brigit had assumed her master had returned, although she noted the scent was very differing. The scent of the female two-legs, who shyed away like a cautious rabbit. She stood nearby, wagging her tail happily, panting lightly from the heat - it was quite hot inside - as she peered up at female-two-legs face. Her named sounded something like Srra, not that Brigit could speak anyway. Was she coming in? Brigit hoped so for she hated staying in the lonely room which smelled like dirty air and mildew.

Danny made his way downstairs and out of the shanty town, still teetering like an unstable pile of blocks. Inside it felt sturdy enough but when he stepped outside and looked at it, he was really very surprsied he was insane enough to sleep in such a place. The dirty, dusty streets were somewhat empty, only full of their usual back and forth early risers, setting up for a new day of business. He didn't much like the smell of it, the air permeated by thick, grungy fumes, stuffy with heat. It made him terribly homesick for the clean, crisp air of the countryside. He hoped he could return to it soon.
Once Sera came in, she moved over to place the plate her breakfast had been on over by the sink. Sera opened the window, for it was very stuffy inside the apartment. Then she cleaned it, humming lightly to herself before she remembered Brigit. Sera's eyes grew large and she suddenly began to shake, nearly dropping the plate in her hands.
She turned her head to peer over her shoulder in order to see if she could spot Brigit.
She took a deep breath, bracing herself just in case she decided to flee whenever the bird from the previous night suddenly flew in on the table. Its camera suddenly fixed on her in an odd, stalking sense, taking in her figure and suddenly becoming very still.
Brigit almost immediately noticed the bird on the window seal. It was a new, strange, metal creature that she didn't like. It smelled funny and it was obviously threatening to Srra. Her Master wouldn't like it if something threatened Srra or his new territory. She barked at it, rushing to the window, growling and snarling. Jumping at the window she opened her jaw and snapped at it, either to have it fly away or else she would successfully capture it in her teeth. Normal birds were fun to chase, but this one was rather foreboding and it was invading her Master's territory.
The bird quickly hopped away from Brigit and onto the counter, coming closer toward Sera until it suddenly flew up in its metal wings. It wasn't a large bird, but it was obviously very menacing in its manner.
It suddenly darted for her face, moving out its metal talons.
Sera screetched and picked up the skillet which Danny must have used for breakfast and smacked the thing onto the floor, stalling it for a moment as it tried to regain its footing. She hoped that Bright might get to it before it got in the air once more.
Brigit chased after the scrapmetal fowl, jumping at her chance to pin it to the floor, after which she started biting at it and jerking at it. She yelped now and then, trying to avoid its sharp metal claws and wings as it fluttered around desparately on the floor. This was a strange bird indeed and she didn't like it at all.
"Brigit, look out!" Sera called to the dog and shoved her off the bird, just in time to miss hitting the dog. With the skillet, she smashed the bird onto a splattered pile on the floor. Parts and scrapmetals rolled across the wood. Sera looked over at the dog, suddenly not feeling so afraid of her anymore, especially since the dog had aided in fending off the bird.
Sera stepped over to inspect the creature, making sure it was dead but the fact that its little camera head rolled off to the side and a few of its internal organs popped from its chest pretty much assured her that it was gone.
"Are you okay?" she asked Brigit, having heard her cry out. She knealed down and put her hand out to the dog, although she was still a little fearful of the beast. But she didn't want Danny coming home to an injured pet.
Brigit licked at her lips, which were a little bloody with small cuts from the bird's little talons and the tips of its metal feathers. She also had a cut on her front, left paw, but otherwise was free of any serious injuries. It had hurt! That dumb bird!
Just to make sure the bird was dead for herself, she shoved her nose around the wrecakge, sniffing at it before turning her attention back up to Srra. The female-two-legs had extended one of her upper paws, something Brigit had learned that fearful two-legs often did this when they wanted to try and be friendly. Brigit leaned out to sniff her hand before licking at it in a pleasant way. She whined indignantly. 'I'm much better than that bird,' she would have said, if she could speak.
Sera heard Brigit whine, but didn't exactly know what that meant. She let her hand glide over the dog's head, petting her softly. Then she got up to dampen a rag. She helped Brigit's wounds, or at least the ones she could easily get to.
She was just about finished with cleaning her up whenever she heard another soft tap on the window.
She couldn't believe that in all the fuss, she had left it open. She stood up, grabbing her skillet once more and looking around, perhaps she could smack it back out the window. She had never been the best person at baseball... for she had never played before, but she had watched a lot on the screen.
But she waited, knowing that this one would probably try to attack the same way the other had.
Brigit stood still while she was being tended to, not minding the physical contact at all. She was happy to get to know and new two-legs. Her ears twitched at the tapping sound on the window, however and she turned her head, the hair prickling on the back of her neck, her hackles and banner raised in a threatening manner. She growled at the bird on the window. Not another one.
Sera watched the bird a moment whenever it suddenly dove for Brigit first. Sera moved it away by swiping it with the skillet. The mechanical bird was driven back and Sera noticed the direction it went in.
"Brigit, let's get it in that room," she remarked whenever she was suddenly nailed in the back of the head and tumbled to the ground. Another bird seemed to have entered the room and Sera rushed to go shut the window before any more came in. Now they had two to deal with.
Sera rubbed the back of her head, feeling the warm liquid that came from where the creature's nail-like claws had dug at her scalp.
Brigit barked and growled furiously, jumping and snapping at the birds in order to catch them between her teeth. She knew that the female-two-legs Srra had said something but she didn't understand. Srra didn't speak to her like Danny did, she didn't know the right commands and so Brigit didn't understand. She did her best to rid her Master's territory of these threats, however.
Sera began to fight the birds, taking on them both while Brigit helped her. Before long, she was able to hit them both back into Danny's bedroom and then hurriedly closed the door.
The birds flew into the door, hitting it with a hard 'thud' and then commencing to peck and claw at the door.
Sera took a step back, wondering how long it would be until the birds got through.
She looked to Brigit and then moved to go find a pot for her head and for Brigit's head.
