I sighed, holding the books out in front of me. Why was i such a failure? I couldnt do anything right!
I criged as a few kids passed me and laughed. I was always the laughing stock. I was even beaten in each match. I rerranged the bandages on my legs and arm. The wounds... So painful. I cringed more. How was i going to survive as a ninja?

Seeing all of the other shinobi that were laughing at a girl as they passed by her, he clutched his kunai tightly and did something that she would never really expect. He pushed off his back foot and dashed towards the group taking one of them and pinning him up against a nearby tree holding the weapon to his neck. "Laugh at her again. Do it and see what happens" With this, the others started to crowd around him in a angry manner also pulling out some of their weapons. Though, this didn't last too long as Kenji now stuck his other hand out towards them performing one-handed signs.

I yelled as the hgher ranked ninja pressed a kunai to one of my tormenters throaghts. Many other kids scattered in fear. I recognized the boy, id seen him around. He might have been in class with me before, but he had graduated already.
"I am useless so all theyre doing really is remindig me..." I whispered, sitting there and looking up at the dark boy near me. "But, thank you..." I added softly. Noone ever stood up for me, ever. It was a miracle. Yet, some of the tougher kids had gotten out their weapons. Would he be able to beat them all?

"Don't thank me just yet" he says easily hearing the words she had been whispering to herself, then one of the other kids screamed out loud "Shut up!!!" Kenji now blocked the weapon with his arm, luckily it was just a staff and not a sword, otherwise he would have been badly hurt right now. He smiled slightly towards Sakera remembering her from before he had moved onto a higher rank. Knowing fully well that this boy had more than enough back-up to take down one single shinobi, he weaved through and dodged all of the attacks sent at him, then he picked up Sakera gently in his arms and carried her off eventually getting away from everyone.

"Can i thank you now?" I asked, gripping onto the boys shirt. I did know him. I remembered, he was one of those amazing kids whereas i... I was the failure back then too.
"I see youre helping the failure out..." I muttered softly. "Im sorry im still such a failure....."

Laughing to himself softly at what she just said, he didn't really see the girl as a failure, no matter how many times she would be held back. He blushed slightly when the fact kicked in that she was still in his arms, he wasn't a pervert or anything like that. Kenji set her down and turned around so that his back was now facing her "Don't think that way, Sakera. You're a great girl, like a flower, it starts out as nothing at all, but once it blooms, it becomes something beautiful"

Kenji turned towards her and shook his head slightly, then he took her hands into his own gently while pressing the front of her body against her back and started showing her all of the basics, well, pretty much everything you needed to pass. As he was doing this though, he closed his eyes and started to feel the strange energy surrounding the both of them when they were close to one another.

I gaped at him as he lead me through everything. He was being amazingly helpful, teaching me all that.
"Thank you..." I mumbled when he had finished, suddenly aware of our closeness i pulled away.
"No promises that ill pass though... I just mess up all the time"....

Easily noticing that she had just pulled away from him, he did nothing to try and stop her. Though, he stuck his hands into his pockets and stared off to the side as if he were thinking about something "I'm not worried, I know you'll pass this time Sakera, I believe in you" Ever since he was younger, he always had thoughts of Sakera and knew that she would do terrible, but he was going to be her sun and light the way for her.
