Oh, no. No, no, no! No way would she be able to survive two weeks in a hotel room with one Quinn Fabray! Rachel knew she was a drama queen - everyone knew that little fact - but this was just, insane! Well, she would have to stick with this little arrangement, as no one else really wanted to room with Rachel. She hastily tucked a loose strand of her chocolate bangs behind her ear, sighing softly as she opened the hotel room door with her key card, smiling at the simple yet elegant room in front of her. Her dark chestnut eyes scanned over the room, before landing on the bed. And that was the unfortunate thing - there was only one bed. Oh dear. She’d have to share the bed with Quinn, because Rachel was not going to sleep on the pullout couch, and she couldn’t make Quinn take the couch because of her pregnancy.

This wasn’t going to bode well, memories of nights spent being the rebel others never would have imagined of her and sneaking out into a certain blonde’s room filled her mind, and she let the door close behind her. Shaking her head, she strode over to the dresser and let her two suitcases lean against the wall. Her hands planted themselves on her hips, her eyes taking another glance over the room. The arrangement, she could deal with. The room had an impecable view and the hotel had complementary room service to groups staying in their chain. Well, the showcase of show-choirs wasn't till wednesday - and it was friday night now - and New Directions was going to spend the weekend hanging out and running through the city. They weren't in Ohio anymore - for some of them, this may be their only chance to experience life outside of Lima. But Rachel, it would just be the beginning.

"Well, I guess I'll just have to deal with whatever is thrown at me! There won't be any face-to-locker meetings or slushies on my shirt here! This is my chance to break out - and hopefully not have too many complications with the others.. especially Quinn.." the brunette softened to a whisper, taking a hand to her mouth and biting her nail, an old habit she thought she had broken a long time ago. She wasn't biting it off, she just needed to have something in her mouth.

Wait, that sounded so wrong.. Ugh, she'd been around teenagers too long. She needed to get sophomore year done and over with, then she'd only have two more years to go. And yeah, she'd still be here when the rest of Glee graduated, but she'd be the one teaching the new, up and coming singers what it really means to be in Glee, along with Mr. Shue of course. She loved all of Glee, what it represented, what it meant for outcasted students - it was home, even if the others really didn't appreciate her for anything other than her soprano voice. Which was just another hit to the heart, that reminder, but she was strong. She would make it through. Even though even the simplest things set her off.

She sighed again, letting herself plop down onto the bed, her hands folding in her skirted lap light as she looked up at the ceiling. This was going to be a long two weeks.

Quinn could feel her hands shaking as she made her way down the hall. She supposed this was just another form of punishment, one more way for God to get back at her for making stupid mistakes. When the room assignments had been given out, she hadn't expected much. Everyone was placed according to how Mr. Schuester believed they'd get along best. Even though the Spanish teacher wanted all the Glee kids to bond, he was not about to start World War III right before a big competition. So the pairings were as usual: Britanny and Santana, Mercedes and Tina, Kurt and Artie, Mike and Puck, Matt and Finn (the last two switched up because of aftermath of the baby drama being revealed). And that left one Rachel Berry and one Quinn Fabray. Obviously, Mr. Schuester had determined their feuding was over and it was safe to place them together. Quinn wasn't so sure about that though. She had no qualms with Rachel. In fact, she was quite fond of the girl, as anyone would know if they had known about the romance carried out the year before between the child star and the ex-head Cheerio. But being roomed with her, was absolutely unacceptable. Of course, Quinn didn't really have a say, no one else was going to switch rooms and they couldn't afford another hotel room, which meant Quinn was sentenced to her doom.

Standing outside the door to the room that matched the number on her card, Quinn took a deep breath. She knew Rachel was probably already inside. Puck had pulled her aside the second they got off the bus to discuss baby things. That led to shouting match, which had to broken up by Mr. Schue and now she was not only upset about her baby's father, but also her rooming situation. Rubbing her temples, she had a feeling this was going to be along two weeks. With another deep breath and a pinch of fake confidence, Quinn slid her card into the slot and pushed the door open. She caught the tail end of Rachel's to-self speech, but she couldn't really understand what the girl was saying. "Talking to yourself, Streisand?" she asked as she moved into the room with her single suit case. Her voice lacked the usual malice she had been mustering up over the last year and simply sounded dull and tired. Shutting the door, she looked up to survey the room. But the elegant of the place was lost on her when her eyes locked on the one and only bed in the room, which her roommate was sitting on. Quinn suddenly felt sick.

A dizzy spell had her hand reaching out to steady herself on the wall and she looked at the floor as she sucked in a few sharp breaths. It wasn't unusual. The morning sickness, which was really whenever-the-hell-the-baby-feels-like sickness, was often accompanied by dizziness or blurred vision. Frowning at the carpet, Quinn decided that this was possible the worse situation she could be in at the moment. It had been several days ago, in Glee while Rachel was singing, that the ex-cheerleader decided that it was time to win her once 'girlfriend' back. Even after a year of faking hatred, she still found her heart beating fast when Rachel was near and her heart melting when the girl sang. And now, there were no Cheerios to threaten her status and she had to admit, she was hardly as happy as she used to be. But she had yet to come up with a plan and now they were rooming together and would be sharing a bed. Quinn knew that if she wasn't careful, her hormones would get the better of her. With a sigh, as the dizziness seemed to ebb, she looked up at the brunette. She frowned as the image of a single bed washed over her again. Yes, this was certainly going to be a long couple weeks.

"So...uhm..." she mumbled, searching for appropriate words. What was she supposed to say? Clearing her throat, the normally confident Quinn Fabray, lingered near the door, her hands wringing together. She glanced from the floor to Rachel and back, before she finally welled up the will to say something. "I know this is probably going to be....well, awkward, but I have to say, I'm kind of glad I'm rooming with you," Quinn managed to say without her voice cracking. But where the heck had that come from? She ducked her head as she felt the familiar beginnings of a blush crept of her cheeks. Quinn cursed herself. She wasn't supposed to be blushing and she wasn't supposed to want to be roomed with Rachel. Already, she could feel a head ache coming up. "I was kinda of hoping we could put everything behind us. Start over." And with that, she let her eyes fall closed, awaiting rejection from the one person that truly mattered.

Rachel simply rolled her eyes as Quinn made her entrance, not even gracing the blond with a reply. She crossed her arms under her chest, looking away childishly. The brunette thought of herself an adult yet she knew she had a tendency to act like a child - like now, for example. She took note of the way Quinn held herself up against the wall, and her heart skipped a beat. Was she okay? Was it the baby? Probably. Rachel may have been extremelly hurt after their break up and the utter humiliation she received from both the Cheerios and the football players, but she wasn't completely heartless towards the ex-cheerleader. She was torn between asking the blond if she was alright and just completely ignoring it. Well, she had endured her entire sophomore year with only hate and disgust from the blond, but Rachel thought of herself as a better person. Especially after Sectionals, the baby drama, and the continued lack of friendship between the two girls.

Yes, Rachel most-certainly thought herself the better person.

"Are you okay, Quinn?" Rachel asked, her voice full of concern as she stood from the bed and walked to the junior's side, not sure what to do. They hadn't been on the best of terms since the break up, especially with all the drama that had happened within the school year. But again, Rachel had a heart and she wasn't going to sit idly by while Quinn got sick, though the older girl was probably use to the constant sickness by now. Surely. "Why don't you sit on the bed? Let it pass," she offered, using her arms to gesture towards the single bed in the extravagent room. Rachel found herself attracted by the balcony with the great city view, her eyes wide as she took in all that she could see. Opening the glass doors, she stepped out onto the balcony and breathed in a breath of fresh air, and she felt as if she could do anything at that exact moment. If only reality hadn't slammed back into her face in the form of an overly strong gust of wind. It had started to rain, her fairy-tale vision of the city dying as she herded herself back inside, closing the balcony and letting the blinds follow. She turned on the two bedside lamps, trying to keep herself occupied. Thoughts of Quinn kept popping back into her mind, however.

How lovely was that? Thoughts of your first ex invading your mind like the Nazis invaded Poland. Okay, ouch, she got herself on that one. She was Jewish, did she have to make a Nazi remark for that analogy? Shaking her head once more, she decided it was time to start unpacking. A loud crack of thunder distracted her, causing a yelp to escape her full lips as the shock of the sound overtook her. Oh no, she loved storms, but thunder scared the living daylights out of her even if it was just a sound. She closed her eyes, trying to get a hold of herself. She was acting like a child - she couldn't let Quinn see how weak she was, give her more ammo to hurt her emotionally. She stopped, listening to Quinn's words - she wanted to start over? Impossible. Rachel opened her mouth to answer but just as she was getting ready to speak, the lights went out and Rachel let out a dramatic scream, one you would only hear in the movies that were a sign of imenient death.

                                                      Things couldn't get any worse!

She tried not to smile, she really did, but the little up turn of her lips was happening without her consent. As Rachel moved toward her, she ducked her head toward the floor. Quinn wasn't about to let on that she was thrilled the girl actually cared. Her heart seemed to pound in her chest and there was a flutter in her stomach, that she knew was not the baby. Looking up, she gave the girl a reassuring smile. "I'm fine. Just a little dizzy," she replied. Quinn almost hoped that Rachel would reach for her, touch her arm or her hand, or something, but the girl just gestured toward the bed. She tried not to make the slump in her shoulders to obvious. "Yeah, you're right," Quinn mumbled. She moved past the girl, careful not to touch her and settled in on the edge of the bed. Her hands immediately fell to rest on her stomach. It had become an almost automatic reaction lately.

Her hazel eyes stared down at the floor, until Rachel started to move. Trying not to be too obvious, Quinn watched the girl's movements. She studied the girl from the bed, keeping an eye on her as she moved toward the balcony. The blonde knew it had begun to sprinkle when she was outside with Puck, and she debated telling Rachel, but thought better on it and bit into her lip. She tried not to grin as Rachel retreated back into the room and flipped on the lights. Her eye were still trained on the object of her affection when the thunder cracked, causing her to jump. But she recovered quickly, and watched curiously as Rachel seemed to shudder. She had just barely gotten her mouth open to say something when they were plunged into darkness. Normally, she would have rolled her eyes and grumbled about the inconvenience, but Rachel was letting out a piercing scream that had her cringing.

"Rachel!" she growled, glaring in the general direction of the girl. She already had the beginning of a head ache and the scream had hardly helped. Before she could talk herself out of it, she was standing a moving in the direction of Rachel, though she wasn't completely sure where the girl was. Quinn could only assume the Broadway wannabe would continue to freak out and she really didn't have the patience to deal with that, at the moment. Reaching out in front of her, Quinn smiled when she was rewarded with her fingers brushing against Rachel's arm. She gently wrapped her hand around the girl's bicep and tugged her closer it. "It's just the lights, Rach," she said, her voice less steady then she would have liked. The nickname slipped without her permission and Quinn cursed herself once again. Plus, now they were close and her heart was racing again. It had probably been months since she touched the girl and sure, it was just her hand on Rachel's arm, but it still had her fingers tingling. She swallowed hard, trying to reign in her body's reaction to the girl. "I'm sure Mr. Schuester will be down here to check on us in a few minutes," Quinn said, her voice soft, because she really didn't trust herself to talk any louder.

With the lights out and her scream over with, Rachel was practicing her deep breathing to try and calm her fast-pace heart. Oh, she was glad she couldn't see how frazzled and messy she was at that moment, what a disaster she was! Another small scream escaped her as fingers wrapped around her arm, feeling Quinn's body heart to her right was nerve-wracking. "I know that," she spoke bitterly, still jumpy from the lights going off. She could hear tenants in the other rooms protesting loudly and she let out a sigh. She didn't mean to b***h at Quinn, but the thunder and lack of lightening frightened her. And there was no light filtering in from the blinds - it was night time, so they were stuck. In the dark. Alone. Damn it. "Sorry," she apologized, surprised she still hadn't brushed Quinn off of her arm yet.

"You need to get back on the bed - what if you trip and hurt yourself? For the baby's safety," she quickly added, taking Quinn's hand off her own and carefully leading the blond back to the bed. Rachel felt with her own hand, her dark chocolate eyes startingt o adjust to the lack of lighting enough she could see the faint outline of the bed. She sat down first, her hands taking Quinn's arms and guiding her to the edge of the bed. "Can't have you hurt now can we? We have this showcase along with regionals - we can't afford any injuries." Rachel was back to business, though her mind was running a mile a minute with more than just Glee subject matter. Really, she was avoiding any type of conversation other then Glee. When she felt the bed shift to Quinn's weight, Rachel herself scooted up to the headbored of the bed and pulled her knees up to her chest, since it was dark she didn't particularly care that her underwear was visible. It was pitch black, nothing could be seen. She hid her face in her knees, wrapping her arms around her legs as she once again tried to control her breathing. It was more than the storm and she knew it, she just didn't want to admit it.

The thought of them starting over, it seemed impossible. Rachel was a forgiving person by nature, but she sure as Hell knew how to hold a grudge. Her dad's didn't want her too - and they certainly didn't raise her that way - but she could hold a grudge for years if that's what it took for the other person to be forgiven. Not that she had ever held a grudge that long, she knew with her stubborn attitude she could. But, what if some miracle, Quinn wanted to get back together? Well, her dad's supported her in whatever partner she decided to have, but Rachel just felt like the rebound of the rebound. Quinn had had Finn until Rachel let the cat of the bag, but Quinn still had Puck who was desperate to be in the baby's life. And Rachel? Rachel was just the fling, a disgusting secret Quinn had kept to herself till the other Cheerios had caught them one afternoon late in Rachel's freshman year.

She wasn't going to be hurt like that again. She couldn't.

Quinn couldn't help cringing at the second shriek. "Would you stop doing that?" she growled, her voice shifting to the ice tone of the once head Cheerio. She didn't mean to let her frustration slip, and it certainly wasn't the way to start out their trip. Sighing as Rachel spoke back bitterly, she shook her head. They were never going to be able to get back to how they were. There was too much space, betrayal, and lies between them now. Quinn was smart enough to know that Rachel had been hurt by her keeping the identity of the father secret. She wasn't even surprised the girl had proceeded to tell Finn. After all, all Quinn had ever managed to do in concern to Rachel was hurt her. A feeling of guilt settled deep in her chest. "Me too," she said softly in reply to the diva's apology.

Her brows shot up on her forehead at Rachel's words, and she was glad that it was too dark for Rachel to see the comical expression on her face. Did the girl really just admit she cared about the baby's safety? Quinn felt her heart clench and she wished that this situation could be easily remedied. She easily let Rachel lead her to the bed, too dumbstruck to really protest. As Rachel spoke, she settled in on the edge, her eyes toward the floor even though she really couldn't see anything. When the smaller girl shifted up toward the head of the bed, Quinn followed suit. Turning her head, she could just make out the shape of Rachel's body and realized the girl had her head resting on her knees which were drawn to her chest. It upset Quinn to see the girl like this and she weighed her options as she leaned against the head board.

"Rach," she said weakly, her hands moving to rest on her ever going baby bump. She was silent for a few moments, working up the courage to actually say something. After their break-up, Quinn had refused to talk about anything pertaining to their relationship. It was the only way to keep her heart somewhat intact. But now she didn't have the Cheerios or even her parents to worry about and the girl she had been attracted to for the last two years was sitting next to her. "I never meant to hurt you," Quinn forced out, her voice barely a whisper. She could felt her heart pounding in her chest as she worried over being rejected. It was what she deserved, but Quinn held onto some hope that Rachel was a better person then she was. Hesitantly, she reached out her hand, laying it gently on the girl's shoulder. "I've always cared about you," she continued. The familiar p***k of tears hit the back of her eyes and the blonde bit into her lip. The pregnancy had her in tears constantly, but this is the one moment, she really really didn't want to cry.

She forced herself to look at Rachel, even though it was still hard to make anything out in the darkness. "Things could be different. We don't have to be enemies," Quinn said, her voice cracking slightly.

Rachel took in slowly what Quinn was saying, her eyes glancing at nothing as she lifted her head and stared at the opposing wall. 'I never meant to hurt you', 'I've always cared about you', and 'Things could be different. We don't have to be enemies.' were just lies, weren't they? Lies so that Quinn would have someone else on her side. After all her stupid mistakes, all the people she hurt and lied too – it was too much to take, really. A single tear fell down her cheek, her lips trembling as the emotions threatened to swell and overtake her. She bit her lower lip, not even turning her head to look at the ex cheer captain and pregnant teen that was once her girlfriend, her first 'more than just friends' relationship in the history of her life.

Did Quinn really expect to be forgiven? She claims she never meant to hurt her – the cruel reaction once her eyes took sight of Rachel's oddly-clothed figure, the harsh vocal bullying, the psychological beating she took every time the blond walked into a room, how is that not hurting her? When she started dating Finn, that just added to Rachel's angst as she had to watch as Quinn lived the perfect life without her. Then the baby drama happened, which was just a slap to Rachel's face, seeing as the two girls had been in a previous relationship and it was even worse when the brunette had found out that Puck of all people was the father. Well, wasn't that just the icing on the cake? And this exact conversation, this situation – was the cherry!

Rachel shook her head, invisible to the blond in the dark. There was too much going on for her to think clearly, but the brunette knew she'd have to address the issue eventually, 'eventually' being now. Taking a shaky breath as another tear fell down her face, Rachel took Quinn's hand in her own and pulled it off as if it were a leech. She scowled, trying to muster up the emotion to hate the blond, but she knew she never could. Her hand dropped Quinn's, and her own fell onto her knees, her hands shaking.

Quinn, you know that's not true. I honestly believe you should stop lying to me, and yourself. You don't care about me – you're only saying that so it won't be awkward and you'll have me on your side when more drama pops up. But I won't be taking sides, that's one drama scene I won't partake in. she admitted, blinking a few times to push back the tears. We may not be enemies, and I think one day we could try to be friends, but after all.. this, I don't think we could ever be more than that. You hurt me, more than you think you did – and I know you think you hurt me a lot, but that's nothing compared to what I actually feel, to what you even feel. She took another breath, another tear sliding down her cheek.

.. I loved you Quinn Fabray, and I probably still do. But you don't love me, and I highly doubt you ever will. Rachel finally turned to face the blond in the darkness, a sad smile overtaking her face though no one could see it. All you apologies are a part of the aftermath of your pregnancy, you don't even know what you really feel. Rachel couldn't really know for sure, but that was what she thought, what she honestly believed in.

When Rachel's hand covered her own, she flinched. She let the girl remove her hand and let it drop to her side, as she tried to blink back tears. Quinn was starting to rethink this whole situation. If she had just kept her mouth shut, maybe they could be making awkward small talk and leave it at that. Or better yet, they could not talk to each other and she wouldn't have to acknowledge her confusing emotions. She could feel Rachel's hands shaking and she turned her head away. Even after everything, even though she deserved whatever Rachel dished out to her, she was fairly certain she couldn't handle another rejection. Getting kicked off the Cheerios hurt, but getting kicked out of her own home, left her with a completely broken heart. Plus, now she didn't have Finn or any of her friends left. It seemed the only one on her side, beside the occasional support of the Glee club, was Puck and she really didn't want anything to do with him. Quinn could feel the tears attempting to slip down her cheeks before Rachel even started speaking.

Quinn left a mix of anger and sadness well up in her chest at Rachel's words. She shook her head, the tears now spilling over her cheeks, but she kept her face turned away from her former girlfriend. Her heart clenched as the speech continued and debated just leaving, going to Puck's room and letting him hold her till she could well up some numbness again. "You have no idea," she hissed angrily. She bit into her lip, tilting her head back as she tried to hold back a sob. "You really think I didn't, that I don't care about you?" Quinn asked, with a cold chuckle. She jerked up, sitting up right, before slipping off the bed. Her muscles itched to move, to get out of the situation, to run like she had every other time things got hard. It was her nature. She wanted things fixed, but she didn't know if she could handle all the drama that went along with it. The former cheerleader paced along side the bed, making sure to stay close enough that she wouldn't run into anything. "You think you've got it all figured out don't you, Rachel? That I just let our relationship fall apart because I didn't care and I treated you badly because I wasn't hopelessly in love with you. Well you're wrong," she said angrily. This was the first time they had even attempted to discuss the situation and Quinn could feel every emotion over the last year bubbling under her skin. She finally ripped away from the bed, walking with much more confidence then a pregnant girl should be doing in the dark and headed in the direction she that was the door.

"My apologies," she growled, as she moved away,"are completely sincere and you know I feel bad about what I did to you. The pregnancy has nothing to do with this, with you and me. I care more about you then Puck, or Finn, or any other person that has given me the time of day, but you have got to understand my situation. They were threatening to tell the whole school, to get me kicked out the Cheerios, to tell me parents! I was a good Christian girl, Rach, if they had done that my life would have been completely...Damn it!" Her rant and her steps were cut short when her knee collided with an end table. Wincing, she cradling the probably bruising flesh and took a few deep breaths to try and keep from crying. She was so busy being angry that her tears had almost completely stopped, but as she held her knees, the sobs escaped her. Reaching out, Quinn balanced herself on the wall, willing back tears, but failing as they continued to pour over her pale cheeks.

"I love you," she said softly, her voice broken. "I've always loved you and I've been to afraid to admit it." She was finally able to pull herself upright, cringing as her knee ached when she put pressure on it. Quinn glanced in the direction of the bed, but it was too dark to make out where Rachel was. "I know exactly how I feel and I'm sorry it took me so long to tell you," Quinn told her sadly. She made another move for the door, this time much more cautiously. Her fingers brushed across the wall and she recognized she was close, when her phone started ringing. Digging into her pocket, she tried to reign in her crying so that she could at least talk.

"Hello...No, Puck, I'm not crying...Yes, we're fine...I don't know, I haven't heard from him," she spoke into the phone softly, once again balancing herself against the wall so she wouldn't have to place weight on her knee. She really didn't want to talk to him in this moment, especially with him all concerned. Quinn listened to him go on about how he was going to come get her and make sure she was okay. "I'm not a child, Puckerman, I don't need you to come check up on me," she hissed into the phone, before hanging up. She didn't bother trying to continue, instead, opting to lean against the wall. Crossing her arms, she tried to get a handle on the situation and calm herself down. For her sake as much as the baby's.

Rachel was shocked at Quinn's angry outburst – was Rachel really that infuriating? Well, yes, she knew that she was but still, it was quite a feat to hear. She wanted to cry out to keep Quinn from leaving the bed, scared she would hurt herself but she didn't unfurl from her position, arms wrapped around her knees as more tears poured out of her milk-chocolate eyes. When Quinn started her tirade, Rachel sat back in silence as the tears stopped but her lower lip continued to quiver. She yelped when she heard something of Quinn's collide with something painfully in the room and she scrambled off the bed to help the girl but stopped as her foot made contact with the floor, the blonde's heart-wrenching sobs echoing in the dark room. Her lips moved but she couldn't voice the words to ask the ex cheerio if she was okay, she couldn't cry out her apologies, couldn't scream to let out her anger. And she wasn't angry at Quinn like she normally would have been, but she was furious with herself for saying those cruel things to the pregnant teen when all she heard coming from the blond was sincerity, sadness, and anger.

Rachel's eyes widened at Quinn's confession – she loved her? But.. how? After all the things that had been said over the past year, through everything they had been through, Quinn claimed to love her? Why couldn't the brunette hear anything but the truth coming from the older girl? It was very confusing, heart-breaking, and loving in a way. Rachel was ready to say 'Stop, don't go' when the blonde's phone started to ring and that brought the wanna-be star back to reality. It was Puck, for sure, and that was verified by Quinn's words. Even though the blond said she cared for Rachel more then the boys who loved her, Puck would be number one in the baby's life, in Quinn's life. There would be no way to start another relationship with the blond, and Rachel knew that little fact. When the phone call ended, rather quickly, Rachel silently made her way to the silhouette that was the leaning teen, before taking a shaking hand to the wall next to Quinn's head, her other hand resting on the other girl's crossed arm.

Quinn, her voice was quiet, a whisper in the dark room. .. come sit down, you need to rest. We can talk about this later, I promise, but for right now you need to take a breather before you hurt yourself anymore. Rachel had chickened out from her own confession, but she didn't really care. She was more worried about the present rather then the past at the moment.
