Umeko, Fujioka.
The Alice boy. ((Younger Brother.))

“Nothing makes us so lonely as our secrets.”

Umeko really wasn't sure what to think or do...See he loved his big brother more than anything else in the whole entire world and he liked being close to Satsuki and only Satsuki. Umeko wanted to always be near to his brother because it was only when he was around his brother that he felt truly safe. At the same time he also thought that it would be rude and kind of mean to let go of Zale's hand and if he were completely honest with himself it was the first time anyone other than his siblings ever held his hand and it felt oddly warm and tingly where their fingers touched. His other hand and arm was still full with his little sister who was squirming adorably so maybe that was why he felt the way he felt. It made him not want to let go but at the same time he did want to let go and be with his older brother. Satsuki was so important to him and the other cared so much...Umeko couldn't do anything without his brother near by. He felt scared at the thought of being without the other.

He walked only when Satsuki said to walk and felt comforted that his big brother was in control. He didn't give Minako to Satsuki and walked while holding the tiny girl. Umeko really was terrified of not being around his older brother, even if they were separated a little bit, he tended to become panicky and so timid that it was almost impossible to get him out of his shell.

Right now he was definitely scared.

He didn't really show it but he was really really scared at that moment. Zale seemed nice and everyone in Wonderland seemed interesting but what if this turned out to be the same as his brother leaving to go live in his own place? What is Umeko got lost or separated and never saw Satsuki again, those thoughts made him want to cry. He didn't know what to do and not being behind Satsuki, not holding on to a piece of his older brother was tearing Umeko apart a little bit. Even if he had his little sister it wasn't exactly the same since she couldn't actually protect him. It wasn't a good feeling to see that his brother wasn't connected to him, it was a scary feeling, a lonely feeling.

Then he saw Zale's smile...the other had liked it when Umeko held on to his hand. The other had smiled and looked happy, so it was all okay. Zale didn't seem to hate him, he wasn't going to bully Umeko or hurt him or tease him for being quiet and shy. Zale seemed like he genuinely liked Umeko even though he didn't talk much. Umeko felt a little bit safer knowing that and he felt some of the fears he had in his heart melt away a little bit and that was a very good feeling. Zale's smile told him that he wasn't going to be abandoned and that his brother was okay and that Satsuki was there and wouldn't leave.

EVen as they walked Zale still held on and so Umeko held on too and he made sure to look back at Satsuki every few moments just to make sure that his older brother was still safely where he was. Not being next to him scared Umeko but as long as he could see his brother he wouldn't panic. He also made sure to watch Minako every few seconds too since she got fussy when she was carried for too long. The Zale started talking and Umeko listened with wide eyes and a curious expression, for a moment he looked hesitant and confused but then he gathered up all of his courage. "Y-you p-promise?" He wanted to know if Zale meant it, would he really like where the Caterpillar lived?

Umeko's voice was naturally very soft and quiet but it had become even more subdued after years of being teased or hearing his parents yelling, it all sort of beat down on Umeko until he became so tiny and frightened or everything that he could barely muster up the courage to say one word to a person none the less two. Yet he summoned his bravery and he had done it, Zale seemed nice like the type of person that would even listen to Umeko. It made Umeko feel really safe and well watched over, he normally wasn't listened to very often. Only by Satsuki and even then Umeko tried not to talk too much because he didn't want to disturb his brother. It was pretty much impossible for Umeko to disturb his brother but he was always worried about hurting the older male's feelings and he was always afraid of his big brother abandoning him or noticing how useless Umeko really was...

Of course Umeko was also looking up at Loren too because the other was Zale's brother and because the other seemed upset...Umeko didn't know why the other male was upset either which made him feel incredibly worried and nervous. What if just by being around he had made Loren sad some how? Had he done something bad to the pretty looking angel like boy? If he had then he would probably end up feeling terrible because Umeko hated hurting people's feelings. He honestly had no clue that Loren was jealous and even if he knew he probably wouldn't understand. Umeko was much too dense and too self conscious to ever believe anyone would ever be jealous of him.

Kit didn't care much about what anyone else was doing because his attention was on Dahlia who had his attention on him. It was a wonderful feeling to have Dahlia's undivided attention. It made him feel warm on the inside and somewhat floaty and those feelings were good feelings to him. He needed to keep himself level and calm though because he had worked very hard not to let Dahlia charm him into bed. Yes, Dahlia charmed him, but never to the point where Kit slept with the other. He really needed to keep Dahlia on his best behavior or he'd look up and one of the Alices would be a victim. Poor little Alice victim. Of course, Kit would be happy if that meant the baby would have to be carried by him. Yes, indeed.

When Dahlia started to sing, Kit closed his eyes for a brief moment and let his parasol twirl slightly and slowly. Everyone else's voices had disappeared into the background and that meant Dahlia's voice was the only thing Kit could focus on. He was moved by the song and he had to reel himself in when it ended. Opening his eyes, he looked at Dahlia again and smiled gently. Leaning forward and slightly on his tip toes, he pressed a soft kiss to Dahlia's cheek and pulled away with a sway of his head. "Very nice. I think that shall be our traveling song!" He said, grinning. Looking over his shoulder at everyone else, he was curious to see the development in the relationships. It was obvious that there would be relationship developments. But of what kind? "Dahlia, dear, I think the Alices shall end up staying."

Why would Kit think such a thing? Because of the obvious issues that the other world had placed on the Alices. Satsuki did not seem to dream. Umeko was very much afraid and awkward. The baby was the only one spared and that was because she was a baby. Her hopes and dreams had yet to be crushed. What kind of world did the Alices live in? Kit could not help but ponder his thoughts for a moment before he took one of Dahlia's hands and kept his gaze straight ahead. "Somebody do something about moody Loren. His moods keep screaming at me and I'm getting another one of my magnificent headaches. Did we tell the doormouse what to clean while we were away?" It wasn't unusual for Kit's mind to wander off into new subjects. Indeed, it wasn't. In fact, it was the most natural thing in Wonderland. Then again, natural wasn't Wonderland but everything had a natural way of being that had no purpose. That was one of Kit's sayings and of course it didn't really make that much sense but it was clearly one of those deeper meaning things. One could do something that was perfectly fine for him or her, but no one else could do it and it be fine for he or she. Indeed.

"Do you think Vanessa is up for the company today? I do love visiting with him." It was true. Vanessa was one of Kit's favorites other than Dahlia. It was pretty much the fact that Vanessa had not fallen into Dahlia's bed like everyone else. Oh, sweet Vanessa was simply too precious for such things!

Satsuki heard everything going on but none of it was really registering. His thoughts were on his siblings who he felt it was his job to take care of. Not only his job but his reasons for working so hard and getting up each morning. His siblings were his heart and he only wanted what was best for them. So far, Wonderland seemed like that was it. But how could it be? A world of nonsense wasn't good for anyone and the company he was currently keeping was proof of all that. They were mad. Well, some of them were. Others seemed somewhat normal. Like Ix didn't seem particularly bad anymore. But then again, compared to Dahlia and Kit, no one seemed bad or as mad as they did at first. Satsuki didn't mind Zale at all since he seemed to be making friends with Umeko. Which was the reason he was having doubts about going home. Minako would be happier in Wonderland and she would be able to dream. Something Satsuki didn't do... She deserved a childhood...

But that was what Satsuki planned on her having when she and Umeko moved in with him. It was his reason for moving. To give Umeko and Minako a better life. He could do that for him. He knew he could. All he had to do was work hard and love harder! It could work! There was no need to stay in Wonderland... Right?

Satsuki blinked at the sound of singing and he wondered how someone as mad as Dahlia could make such a beautiful sound. When he heard Ix speak and ask a question, he looked over at Ix and gave a small nod. It was better for them because it made sense. Minako needed to grow up in a stable environment as did Umeko and back home, it would be best for them. "It's better for Cho and Nako... They can't grow up here. I mean, really grow up. It's... It's what's best." He answered, hoping to sound confident. It was what was best... Right? He just didn't know anymore. Seeing Umeko bond with someone outside of him and Minako made Satsuki wonder what was best... Turning to look back at his siblings, he couldn't help but smile fondly. He really did love them and he wanted what was best for them. Seeing Umeko looking up, he looked up as well at the flying Loren and he shook his head. "Wonderland isn't our home and we can't live here..." Going home was best and Satsuki would stick to that.

"I'm Satsuki and I'm the older brother...

each with an arm around the other’s neck,

because one of them had “DUM” embroidered on his collar,
and the other “DEE”.’

Loren knew it was stupid to get jealous. There was no reason for it. He was Zale’s twin, and that would never change. He and Zale would be together all the time forever and ever, and nothing could change that. The stupid flower hadn’t changed that, and the idiot hare hadn’t, and nothing would. They were twins and they would be together. So there was no reason to think that the Alices would change anything. After all, they were just like the original Alice, traipsing through Wonderland wreaking havoc and destruction in their wake. But in the end, they would leave and everything would go back to the way it was, and there would be nothing to worry about. Nothing would change.

Except things had already changed because of that stupid mute Alice. Normally, if Loren flew up in a huff like this, Zale would follow him right away to make him calm down and bring him back to earth. But instead of those pretty black and red wings spreading, they stayed tucked against the older twin’s back, and Zale stayed grounded. Loren didn’t understand it. Just because the brat was an Alice didn’t mean he was special. He was just a mute little twit! What was so great about him that Zale would abandon his twin like this? Loren didn’t understand it and he didn’t like it at all. He couldn’t wait to find the idiot pocketwatch and have him take the Alices home. Everything would be better when Aetas took the Alices back to whatever world they came from. Things could go back to normal then.

But until then, Loren had to suffer in the company of idiots and madmen. Huffing, the angelic twin circled over the traveling group, white wings spread wide to soar in circles above their heads. He hated going to Uvasmal. There was no way he was going to eat that nasty mushroom to shrink down. Zale loved doing that, but Loren couldn’t stand it. He’d have to just wait outside the town. Maybe the butterfly freak would come out to them instead. Just so long as Loren didn’t have to shrink down, he didn’t care.

On the ground, Zale followed Umeko’s gaze upward, craning his neck to watch his twin circle. Loren would be fine. He was always fine after he cooled down a little. Looking back down at the Alice, Zale beamed, nodding brightly. ”Yeah, I think you’ll really like it. Everything is miniature! It’s really amazing. It’s almost my favorite place in all of Wonderland!” It would have been his absolute favorite place if Loren had enjoyed it as much, but Loren didn’t like Uvasmal. Because Loren didn’t like mushrooms.

Zale did pause to listen to Dahlia sing, because it was so rare for Dahlia to sing that it was quite a treat. Smiling happily, the darker twin gently swung Umeko’s clasped hand in time with the music, marching along behind the Hatter and the Hare. Of course, sooner or later they were going to get to Uvasmal, and he would probably have to let go of the Alice’s hand to eat the mushroom, but until then he was content to just follow Kit and Dahlia.

And Loren still sulked up in the air.

”Please, would you tell me why your cat grins like that?”
“It’s a Cheshire-Cat, and that’s why.”
“I didn’t know that Cheshire-Cats always grinned; in fact, I didn’t know that cats could grin.”
“They all can, and most of ‘em do.”
“I don’t know any that do.”
“You don’t know much, and that’s a fact.”

Ix was…a little offended. Satsuki seemed to be implying that people couldn’t grow up in Wonderland. Which was silly. People grew up fine in Wonderland. Ix himself was a prime example of such. He’d turned out more than fine. Why did Satsuki think his brother and sister wouldn’t turn out well if they grew up in Wonderland? Ix was definitely a little offended at the suggestion. Stiffening, the Cat pulled away from the Alice, the hair on the back of his neck upraised in outrage. ”Well, we grow up better here than they obviously do in your world,” he snapped, flexing his fingers in agitation. He was upset now, and his claws were itching to come out so he could scratch something up. ”You have no dreams and your brother is half-broken, and your sister is probably going to be the same soon too. Yes, I can totally understand why your world is so much better than ours!” Letting out an annoyed growl, the Cat stalked away from the Alice.

On the one hand, he was annoyed at himself for getting so upset by a simple comment the Alice had made. He’d known all along that Satsuki was planning to leave as soon as he found Aetas. But he didn’t have to say what he did about growing up. Wasn’t Wonderland better than Beyond The Glass, if the Alices turned out the way they were? The Other World seemed to beat the dreams out of their young, which was…well, Ix thought it was a bloody stupid thing for a world to do. Dreams were wonderful things that kept people going, and to have none was just sad.

Sad…

Yes, it was sad, wasn’t it? The realization made Ix’s eyes widen, and he glanced over his shoulder at Satsuki, quickly looking forward again before the Alice could realize Ix was watching him. It was sad that the Alices were broken by their world. Ix shouldn’t get angry. Ix should pity them. They clearly didn’t know what they were missing. What was wrong with them was like a…a defect that wasn’t their fault in the slightest. He shouldn’t get angry because of something they couldn’t control. He should just try and help them along, and maybe if they stayed long enough here, they would heal, and maybe if they healed enough and their dreams returned, they wouldn’t be so dead-set to return to their imagination-killing world of theirs. Yeah…

While he was pondering this new revelation, they came to the bridge that led out of the Duchy. Under the bridge ran a stream, and it was a peaceful, charming looking little stream. The whole visage was charming and peaceful. Until one learned that the stream was a tributary of the Wandering Sea, and that, combined with the fact that the stream was in Wonderland, meant that nothing about this peaceful little stream was normal. This bridge, as it turned out, couldn’t be crossed by walking across it. Because of the water from the Wandering Sea, the bridge could only be traversed by walking sideways.

Ix, having grown up here all his life, didn’t think about it. He just looked away until the bridge was in the corner of his eye and walked forward, a little bit always from the bridge. Kit and Dahlia were doing the same. And like that, they were on the bridge and walking across the stones. It was a tricky bridge, because walking right towards the bridge would just make the bridge get farther and farther away. This sort of thing was normal for Wonderland, especially where the Wandering Sea was concerned. The Sea twisted things up more than usual.

Ix was halfway across the bridge when it occurred to him that the Alices would have no idea in their pretty little heads how to get onto the bridge, thanks to their mind-numbing world. Once a person was on the bridge itself, it was just a simple matter of walking across, but actually getting onto the bridge in the first place was the hard part. Turning, the Cat looked over the group, sighing. Zale seemed to quietly explaining the trick of the bridge to Umeko, and since he was clinging to the Alice, and Umeko was holding the little girl Alice, they were both on the bridge anyway. But Satsuki…poor Satsuki was broken and had no imagination, and he was on the far side of the bridge and had yet to get on. Really, the oldest Alice was going to keep having trouble in Wonderland if he didn’t shape up. Ix needed to help him. It wasn’t Satsuki’s fault.

His earlier temper forgotten as suddenly as it had come, ix stepped off the bridge. Moving up beside Satsuki, he once again draped over the Alice’s shoulders. ”It’s not that hard to figure out,” he purred softly, yet again puffing into the Alice’s ear, no longer upset at all. He had to nurture the Alice’s dead dreams and bring them back to life, and maybe if he did that, the Alices would stay, just like Ix had hoped for. ”You just have to go sideways.” And if the Alice needed help, Ix was more than willing to offer his assistance. If the Alice got stuck on this one little hurdle, he was going to get nowhere in Wonderland and his dreams would never come back to life.

[[ I thought the bridge was cool. I just had to add it. XD ]]

“Truly great madness can not be achieved without significant intelligence.”

Kit was of a very special and rare breed of person. Not only was he able to resist Dahlia but he was also able to pay attention to Dahlia without ever making him feel bored. Kit captured his attention and his affection with the simplest of glances or the smallest of words. Hearing and seeing the other male every single day was a treat that Dahlia practically jumped to greet. He knew that Kit knew him best in all of Wonderland and he thought that he would have gotten bored with having the March Hare around all the time but really having the other male around all the time was something that only grew more and more exciting and never less. Still...sometimes Dahlia felt so frustrated that Kit was so close and yet so far away that it made him feel odd feelings.

Dahlia was singing a song that he wanted Kit to enjoy, the other loved babies so much and he also loved soft beautiful things, it was only natural o sing that type of lullaby. One filled with warmth and innocent love. He sang in his own special way and for a moment he forgot everyone and everything except for the person the song was dedicated to. When he stopped singing his eyes focused on Kit and he smiled back. Kit was close, the other male smelled like tea and flowers and unbirthday cake. They were all his most favorite smells and the other male's lips felt like soft warm velvet on his skin. For a moment Dahlia's eyes glazed over and his distinctly floral scent the one that was special and unique to him because he was a flower grew stronger and more alluring. He finally responded after his euphoria evaporated a little bit. "Oh yes, I think so too. It will be much more fun with them around because they are all so delicious and sweet."

Dahlia was in a very happy place, this was similar to the time they had met Vanessa for the first time and the other assumed they were flowers. He had cheerfully attempted to give a butterflies greeting towards both Kit and Dahlia. This greeting involved him lightly kissing them on the tips of their noses. When he found out they were humans he grew deeply embarrassed and confused by this since Dahlia smelled like a flower and Kit looked like one. Yet this kissing cheek situation was the same because it was an innocent kiss that made him into jelly. He was snapped out of his kissing memories by Kit and he chuckled softly. "Ah yes, I do suspect we will have to get Zale to kiss Loren silly to make the other stop scolding you. Oh, he knows the Doormouse always knows what needs cleaning." Although Dahlia had never seen the other clean, somehow it always got done. He knew that he didn't do and that Kit didn't do it so it had to have been the Doormouse. Dahlia didn't mind, the Doormouse was after all his best friend and the person that lived with him, although recently they hadn't really done their normal activities he was pretty sure it was because the other had fallen for the Dodo and was now completely faithful the that bird. Oh well...Dahlia didn't mind, he just wished he had someone to play with once more...or maybe more than play with...

"I am sure he is! Isn't he always? Vanessa loves to be around people after all and he also loves us the most out of all his visitors."
Dahlia spoke knowingly but the truth was that Vanessa often ended up in a terrible tizzy when they came around. Itw as do adorable, so endearing. He knew that Kit seemed to love Vanessa especially and he should have felt jealous but he had a soft spot for the butterfly too....

Walking across the bridge was eerily easy for him but like a gentleman he reached out and locked arms with Kit. He loved being so close and he loved caring for Kit like so when they were on the bridge. As soon as they passed it they would soon be in Vanessa's territory and then all the real fun would begin. Dahlia just knew it...

Umeko, Fujioka.
The Alice boy. ((Younger Brother.))

“Nothing makes us so lonely as our secrets.”

Umeko really was worried about his older brother, he knew that Satsuki surely wanted to leave Wonderland and go back to their real world but Umeko...Umeko wasn't sure about much of anything anymore. He would always do what his brother wanted, of course but his own mind was torn in two about the whole affair. It was because the real world was such a scary and mean place, Umeko didn't like it there. The real world made him feel dead and lonely and scared and he didn't like any of those feelings, he didn't like them at all. He was always sad there and always scared. That was why he wore so much clothing, because it protected him and also hid him away from the world. It felt safer all bundled up and...it was the real world that made him feel like he had to hide.

Here is was kind of different...he was still really scared but Zale was being so nice to him and no one had ever offered to be so nice to him before no one except for his brother and sister. It made Umeko feel happy and safe because Zale seemed to really be a kind and caring person who wouldn't tease him. Wonderland seemed to be a place where people were not entirely focused on being cruel towards each other, it was almost as if the world he was used to had been suffocating him and he could breath here but...At the same time Satsuki didn't seem very happy here and Umeko would never ever want to stay in a place where Satsuki seemed unhappy or uncomfortable. After all...he loved his brother and he wanted his brother to be happy, it was all Umeko ever really wanted because his brother was most important in his heart. Even Zale's warm hands couldn't change that.

So that was why Umeko was confused, because he was feeling happy here but he could tell that his brother was not feeling very happy here and when his brother wasn't feeling happy then Umeko couldn't feel safe or happy. Satsuki was necessary for Umeko, if something was wrong for Satsuki then it was also wrong for Umeko. Although he liked it here and even though Minako liked it here since she was giggling and watching Loren fly, Satsuki was still hesitant about this place and that made this place dangerous and scary to Umeko. Not as much as the real world but just enough...

Umeko looked back to Zale with wide nervous golden eyes getting a very trusting feel for the winged male. It was interesting how Umeko could just take to someone who looked so frightening, it was because he saw how kind Zale's eyes were and also it was because Zale acted so sweet and friendly. Umeko had never seen anyone act like that before and it made him trust Zale. "K-kay...i-it sounds nice." He mumbled his words softly, his gaze turning to the ground and his arm shifting a little bit as he carried his little sister around. Minako helped him feel happy too because she was his adorable little sister and because she loved everyone and everything so cheerfully.

Umeko's eyes widened when he heard the singing, partially because the sound really was very pretty and partially because he felt the song where his hand was holding Zale's. He felt a little bit happy as the other male swung his hand back and forth and he felt really happy and light as if there were lots of happy things in the world. Minako even stayed silent during the whole song and when it was done she clapped and giggled excitedly. Umeko felt really happy too and he would have clapped if not for holding his sister and holding Zale's hand.

Umeko wondered if Loren wanted to come down and listen too...

Then the odd bridge came up and while Zale clung to Umeko, Umeko trembled and tried to do what the other male said. Minako seemed to just be excited and Umeko only felt confused. What was he to do? He felt so helpless even when Zale was helping him and he felt flustered too. His heart was beating quite fast from just being helped across a bridge by Zale...it was embarrassing for poor little Umeko.

If not for the fact that Ix had blown up right next to Satsuki's ear, he probably wouldn't have heard the Chesire Cat. But he had and he didn't know how to form a rebuttal to that accusation. It wasn't true... He did dream. More often than he should on some days. But that was just for fun. Dreams couldn't come true without hard work to back it up and some dreams were simply impossible. His brother wasn't broken. He was misunderstood and under appreciated which caused him to resort to becoming what most viewed as a mute or a social freak. Minako would be alright. Satsuki would make sure of that. She was still young and he could still save her and she might even keep her ability to dream. Umeko still dreamed. Satsuki could see it in his eyes. He wanted his siblings to dream... But Ix had a point: there world wasn't so grand if one had to hold on so tightly to his or her dream. What happened to dreaming freely? Satsuki was just so unsure. As his gaze fell on his siblings, he couldn't help but smile. He would do anything to make them happy and if in the end, Wonderland was it, then he would leave them in Wonderland. Oh no, he couldn't stay. With the way he was, the place would simply drive him mad like everyone else...

Satsuki missed the looks that Ix threw him since he was too busy thinking again. His face was slightly scrunched as he went back to pondering his options. Would he be considered a bad older brother if he left them in Wonderland? If he didn't try to get the out of Wonderland? If only things could make more sense, then it wouldn't be such a hard decision. But nothing made sense so the decision was hard and without a proper answer. It was frustrating.

As they approached a bridge, Satsuki paused and he watched the way Dahlia and Kit walked on it. Then Ix walk on it. What in the world? They didn't just walk on, how on earth... His head was beginning to hurt and he sighed softly. His eyes wandered over to his siblings and he watched as Zale explained the concept of the bridge's workings to Umeko. His brother looked so terribly confused. At least Satsuki wasn't alone in his confusion... As Zale finally managed to help Umeko figure it out, Satsuki was left to ponder the oddness and he nearly screamed when Ix was suddenly draped over his shoulders again. The closeness was too much and it was like the other simply did not understand personal space. At the puff, his face flushed and he tried to move his head away from Ix's, also hoping to hide his blush. This was becoming an awful habit that he wished would stop repeating itself. His mind slowly processed Ix's instructions and he blinked. Sideways? It nearly killed him but...

"I don't think... I don't think I really get that." He murmured, watching the others make it safely across the bridge. Perhaps he should stop thinking about things in such a logical manner. It was, for once, getting him nowhere. Being brilliant wouldn't help him in Wonderland. No, he had to use something he didn't use often anymore. His imagination. Not just for storytelling either. But for actually use... The idea frightened him a little but he was also feeling immense anticipation at the thought. "...I just meant that this wasn't where we belonged." He didn't often apologize since he didn't often socialize unless it was for business or work. Honestly, out of the group, he felt a tad bit safer with Ix. Even if he didn't understand the meaning of personal space and sent Satsuki's mind into a tizzy and made his heart race and his cheeks flush and...and...and other stuff that made him feel like one of those women from books if he admitted it. Feeling embarrassed, he carefully removed himself from Ix's reach and considered what he was suppose to do. Taking a deep breath, he tried the sideways thing...

Guess what? It worked... With Ix as a guide, somehow Satsuki would make it through Wonderland. "I don't suppose you plan on staying over there." He called out to Ix, feeling quite pleased with himself for managing to get on. He didn't move to fast though since he would rather have Ix somewhere close in case something went wrong... Shut up! It was for safety purposes, honest!

                                      [ooc] crap post, ugh [/ooc]

Kit could always tell when Dahlia was going off into a special place and since he was so close, he could smell the scent of flowers strongly. He had to look away or he'd find himself in a bit of a daze at the scent. It always lulled him into a peaceful trance. Which was rather strange seeing as how Dahlia could be anything but peaceful at times. His sentence about the Alices was proof enough. Poor Alices didn't know how much trouble they were in for. The only one safe was Dahlia was the baby and that was because Kit had claims to her. He loved babies to pieces! He nearly squealed happily, but he managed to contain himself. "Dahlia, I impore thee to behave." He murmured softly, his hand tightening on the rod of his parasol before he slowly began to twirl it once more. It took Dahlia a moment to answer his next question but he figured the other would in good time. At the answer, Kit hummed lightly as he looked up once more at the flying, sulking Loren. How sad and pathetic of him to be jealous of an Alice. It was an Alice for crying out loud! They were special. Everyone had been awaiting their return.

"I do think that this shall be a continued fadoozle, indeed."

Fadoozle was Kit's way of saying problem or bind. It was often, "Oh, I'm in a bit of a fadoozle right now," or "If I don't fix this, I'll lose myself in a fadoozle," or whatever else. But he didn't use the word as often as it would seem. Oh no, fadoozle didn't enjoy being used so much so it had to come out for periods at a time. It had been long enough so Kit had been able to use it for that moment. Now it would sleep for two more years or so. His thoughts went to the Doormouse and he wondered if the other would truly be alright without them there. Sure, he had the Dodo but he was nothing compared to Dahlia. Uh, and himself, of course. His face flushed slightly at the thought of Dahlia and he glanced at his friend from the corner of his eye. The other was so regal... So alluring... So handsome...

Blinking, Kit nodded in response to what Dahlia said about Vanessa. It couldn't be helped that Vanessa was such a sweetheart that he could be easily thrown into a tizzy. Thoughts of the first meeting came into Kit's mind and he couldn't help but smile. The other was simply adorable and precious. It was the innocence that drew people to Vanessa but it was the sweet nature that kept people coming back. Kit simply enjoyed Vanessa's company. As they reached the bridge, Dahlia locked arms with him and he smiled brightly. See? The flower could be such a gentleman when he wanted to be. As they walked across, Kit couldn't help but look back and softly tsk at the trouble that the Alice boys were having. So unfortunate. "Oh, Dahlia, we're going to have to keep a close eye on her poor Alices. They will not make it otherwise." He murmured softly before laying his head against Dahlia's arm as they walked. When they reached the other side, it was considered Vanessa's territory pretty much. Now, they had to wait for the others. "The poor baby... I want a baby..." There was a small pout on Kit's lips as he gazed at where the little baby was being held. He wished he could just hold her for a little while.

[ooc] it's no longer Kitty's turn! >D bwahahahaha~! [/ooc]

Ix honestly wasn’t sure if Satsuki would make it onto the bridge or not. Going sideways was easy enough, but the World Beyond the Mirrors had beaten and broken the dreams right out of the older Alices. Ix couldn’t help but be worried that the Alices wouldn’t be able to make it in Wonderland. Zale seemed perfectly capable of coaxing the imagination out of Umeko, and the smaller Alice and the girl made it onto the bridge, but Satsuki…Satsuki was a problem. If Satsuki couldn’t even make it on this little bridge, then Ix might have to just give up his reservations and let Satsuki go back to his world. If Satsuki couldn’t handle this bridge, and even Ix’s hint couldn’t help, then Satsuki wouldn’t be able to last here.

The Cat let out a small, defeated sigh when Satsuki admitted he didn’t understand, frowning sadly. He didn’t want the Alices to go back, but the oldest one couldn’t make it on the bridge, so…

But then, wonder of all wonders, Satsuki made it onto the bridge! Ix didn’t know how he did it, but somehow the Alice figured the trick of the bridge and got on! That manic Cheshire grin split Ix’s face in half as he watched the blue-haired Alice stand there, delight singing in his chest. Satsuki made it onto the bridge, which meant all hope wasn’t lost yet! Satsuki could still learn, and that meant that if he was just shown how wonderful Wonderland was, everything would be perfect and Satsuki and his siblings would want to stay here and Ix would be so very happy.

At Satsuki’s call, the Cat blinked up in front of the Alice, still grinning his Cheshire grin, but also purring. ”Verrrrrry good,” the Cat purred, pleased beyond belief. In true cat-like fashion, he rubbed up against Satsuki’s chest and under his chin, still purring deep in his throat. ”You did wonderrrrrful.” Because Ix hadn’t thought the Alice would make it onto the bridge, but Satsuki had defied expectations. Satsuki would make it in Wonderland after all.

When he realized that the others were already off the bridge and wandering farther down the trail, Ix pulled back, grabbing Satsuki’s hand and dragging him after the others. Wouldn’t want the Woods to get tricky and change their course and split the two groups up. Satsuki wouldn’t like that at all, and Ix would find it just as hassle. He would hate to have to go searching for everyone else. When they were back with the group and in no danger of being split up by shifting paths, Ix reluctantly dropped Satsuki’s hand, pouting at the strange sense of abandonment he felt with the move. How odd…

Ix hadn’t even noticed that silly Loren had departed from the group until the reached the clearing Uvasmal sat in and he saw the angel on waiting for them. But Loren wasn’t important. Turning to Satsuki, wholly intent on seeing the look on the otherworlder’s face when he saw the miniature town, Ix gestured grandly, beaming at the Alice. ”Welcome to Uvasmal Stuchery. What do you think?”

There were, of course, many things that could happen to one who was traveling in Wonderland. Wonderfully monstrous creatures could eat you, you could fall up a hole, a strange bug might bite you and make you shirnk, or grow, or turn inside out…there were all sorts of things that could happen to people, and there were all sorts of things in the Dark Woods that were strange and unusual. Unexpected consequences happened all the time because there were all sorts of strange, unusual things in the Dark Woods of Wonderland.

Loren only noticed the Rabbit because he was so high up and had a bird-eye vantage point. The Rabbit was likewise traveling through the Woods, but on a different path that was nowhere near converging with their little group’s. Wings stilling, Loren hovered for a moment, watching the moving Rabbit. Then he looked down at the group, still moving on towards Uvasmal. And Zale was still clinging to Umeko’s hand as they wandered down the path, which made a scowl settle on Loren’s face. Letting out a breath through his nose, Loren shifted his wings, leaving the air above the group’s heads and following the Rabbit. No one else would notice he wasn’t following for a while, and Zale would be too distracted by the Alice to pay attention to his missing brother. So Loren was free to follow the Rabbit.

Humming softly to himself, the angelic twin followed the Rabbit until Kanin stopped in a clearing, only a few minutes later. Unobserved, he perched in a nearby tree as the Rabbit leaned against a tree trunk and took off his hat, running a hand through his hair. Kanin muttered something along the lines of, ”Where are those Alices?” and Loren’s eyebrows rose. Oh ho…so Kanin was looking for the Alices, was he? And the Alices were going to the dorky bug to find the Rabbit…interesting turn of events. It occurred to Loren that he could end this, right here and now. If he came out and told Kanin that he knew where the Alices were, he could lead Kanin there. Then the Rabbit would take the Alices back to their own dreary world, and Loren would have Zale all to himself once again. It was a good plan.

Only…if Kanin was looking so fervently for the Alices, it was on the Red Queen’s order, because only the Queen could make Kanin do something. Everyone knew that. Which meant that if Loren led Kanin to the Alices, the Alices would be taken to the Red Queen instead of their world, and Zale would be upset for days if Loren ended up getting those blasted Alices beheaded. Cursing quietly, the angel leapt off the branch and ascended into the air, not noticing how he startled the Rabbit when he erupted out of the tree.

Possibly even more upset than before, Loren winged it over to the clearing Uvasmal was in. The others weren’t here yet, but since they would be arriving soon, he perched himself in a tree branch and lounged against the trunk, waiting and glowering down at the miniature town in the centre of the clearing. And then he let his thoughts wander, trying to find a way out of this tricky little knot he’d found himself in.

What was for certain, though, was that he had absolutely no intention of telling anyone the Rabbit was looking for the Alices until he was absolutely sure of the way it would turn out.

------------

Zale noticed right away when Loren disappeared from overhead. Of course he noticed. Loren was his twin, and not noticing something like that was just unfathomable to think about. However, he didn’t immediately launch into the air to follow wherever his twin had gone, because he was still holding Umeko’s hand, and Umeko couldn’t follow. Zale wasn’t worried, though, because Loren could definitely take care of himself. There were some creatures around their home that were actually scared of Loren’s temper, and thus kept well away from their home. Which, considering some of the creatures in the Woods, was impressive in it’s own right.

So Zale noticed, and he watched Loren zip off, but he didn’t follow. Instead, he kept holding Umeko’s hands and looked back at the Alice with a smile. For someone from the Other World, Umeko had done really well getting on the bridge. Zale hadn’t been there during the Alice Revolutions, but he’d heard that things changed after she left, simply by being shaped by her will and her ideas from her home. So far, these Alices didn’t seem to be doing too much shaping or changing of anything, and they weren’t nearly as broken as Loren thought. Otherwise, Umeko would never have made it onto the bridge.

For the moment, Zale was content to walk with Umeko and not say anything, so he didn’t. He just held the Alice’s hand and walked after Kit and Dahlia and listened to the cries of strange creatures coming from the Woods. If one didn’t think about the fact that some of those creatures were quite gruesome and ready to gobble up an unsuspecting traveler, it was actually not that bad to listen to. Some of the sounded blended rather well with each other.

It didn’t take long at all to reach the small clearing where Uvasmal sat, and Zale brightened unconsciously when he saw his twin in a tree on the far side of the town. Uvasmal itself sat in the centre of the clearing, a complete town with a miniature bell tower in the middle of the town square that was no more than twenty inches tall. Signs were posted all around, informing travelers of the town, so a wanderer wouldn’t step on the little houses. There were also a ton of mushrooms growing in the grass outside of town, ranging in size from a few inches tall to nearly a foot. The mushroom crowns were cut in half down the middle, and one side was red, and the other was blue.

Zale pointed to the mushrooms. ”The red size makes people shrink, and the blue side makes people grow. I think they used to all be one color, but people kept eating the wrong sides, so the mushrooms were grown with the colors. It’s always good to get a piece of both colors,” he advised happily, ”Otherwise you have to trek all the way out of town to get more mushrooms. It’s quite a journey.” Zale was always happy to show off his knowledge to other people, but since other people lived in Wonderland as well, there generally was much of a need for it. So being able to be helpful to Umeko was a treat.

Gently swinging Umeko’s hand, the deviled boy looked over at Kit and Dahlia. ”Are we going into town, or is Caterpillar coming out to meet us?” he asked them curiously. He didn’t mind going into town ---he rather liked shrinking down, it was quite fun--- but Loren would stay big because he didn’t like mushrooms, which would be sad. Besides, Kit and Dahlia seemed to know Vanessa a whole lot more than Zale and Loren did, so it just seemed right to ask them.

Dahlia Fiore.
ThE mAd HaTtEr.

“Truly great madness can not be achieved without significant intelligence.”

Kit was good at knowing when Dahlia was pleased, Kit could probably tell by scent but it was more than that. Dahlia felt good and pleased and at peace around Kit, when he showed it the other could always tell but Dahlia didn't think that the other male knew why Dahlia felt so wonderfully. Kit was remarkably dense in that aspect, he could be so astute and wonderfully sharp about things yet at the same time he could be so unobservant about other things, things like Dahlia's feelings for him. For some reason it seemed that Kit never realized just how much Dahlia actually liked him and it was a crying shame because if he did then he'd realize that the special scent was really just for him. "I will try my best to will good behavior out of by body but it is so hard to control oneself around such beautiful creatures." Dahlia may have been speaking about the Alice's but he was looking right into Kit's eyes as he said it. Dahlia wanted to see Kit blush and squirm, the other often was too strong will to ever do so but Dahlia loved it when he could be convinced to. Red was a beautiful color of Kit after all, especially when it stained his cheeks.

"I will have to agree with you about that, Kit my dear."

Hearing Kit say one of his favorite words made Dahlia laugh in a light pleased kind of way, it was obvious that he was amused by his friend but it wasn't cruel amusement it was simple and pure and filled with natural joy. He loved hearing Kit say all kinds of funny words and he loved thinking about all the meanings that Kit came up with to all the amusing sounding words. Kit was someone who was always close to him, sometimes he was closer to him than the Doormouse but at the same time because the Doormouse was more a platonic friend he was also closer to himt han Kit was in some ways. The Doormouse knew what Kit didn't, he knew just how much Dahlia desired the Hare and he knew just how much Dahlia cherished Kit. While Dahlia thought of this he didn't see the blush on Kit's cheeks or the way the other was staring at him.

Then there was Vanessa, if there ever was a person who Dahlia felt as strongly about as Kit it would definitely be Vanessa, he loved them both so dearly and yet he had never been connected to them physically. It was baffling to him, he had no idea how he could want both of them so much and yet had never touched them. As they crossed the bridge he thought more and more about the two greatest affections in his life, they both were so innocent and pure and yet Kit was so strong and teasing while Vanessa was more playful and naive. The two of them caused Dahlia to feel so many odd emotions. He nodded when Kit spoke again and looked back at the Alices, they were unused to the world that they now had to live in. It made sense that they would struggle, ye the wanted to take care of them too. He liked the Alices. "Yes, we must protect and care for hem as if they were our own." He smiled in a mildly devious was as he spoke, his idea of caring for the Alices was a little bit different from Kit's idea of caring for the Alices. When he heard Kit speak again his smile grew soft and warm. "Once day...I promise you, you will have a baby all your own to love and hold." Dahlia always felt it acutely when Kit seemed to want for something, a part of Dahlia wanted to offer to create a baby with Kit but he knew how the other would take it.

Once they reached Uvasmal Dahlia's eyes lit up, he looked over at Zale and grinned brightly with a maniacal glint in his eyes. "Don't worry, Vanessa is gonna come to us....Now Nessa darling come and play with everyone, we have special Alices for you to meet!" Dahlia called out in a loud ringing voice. He knew what would happen too, Vanessa always came when he was called because he recognized voices and felt the need to please people and pay attention to him, he would come like a puppy to its master.

Umeko, Fujioka.
The Alice boy. ((Younger Brother.))

“Nothing makes us so lonely as our secrets.”

Umeko and Minako also noticed when Loren went away, the watched as the other flew faster and farther than them and they both wore identical expressions of disappointment. Minako because she had liked watching the pretty flying angel boy and Umeko because he also liked seeing how free and beautiful the other looked while up in the air. Minako even raised her arms up and made grabby hands for the flying boy even though it didn't do anything, she was distracted a moment latter by something else so there was no worries and she didn't seem to get too upset about it. Umeko on the other hand felt bad, he felt like if he weren't around then Zale would be flying with Loren...

Then Zale smiled at him and Umeko flushed and looked down nervously, the other was so nice to him. Umeko still didn't understand it, would it be better for the other male to just stick near his brother? Wasn't it annoying to be near a wimp like Umeko? He was sure that Zale wouldn't be able to like him but instead Zale just smiled at him and treated him kindly. He felt all safe and warm and he didn't know why, he shouldn't feel safe with anyone except for his brother, that was just how it was but Zale had made him feel comfortable and he hadn't teased him or laughed at him. Umeko was genuinely astonished and pleased because he had never met anyone besides his brother and sister who was kind to him.

Umeko liked holding hands too...even the odd noises that Minako got excited over didn't bother him because all he could think about was how warm and soft Zale's hand was. He had held his brother's hand a lot and that felt good too but it didn't give him little tingles. He guessed that it was because Zale was from Wonderland and had hands that naturally made things tingle or maybe it was because he wasn't related too him, Umeko wasn't fully sure why but he knew it didn't feel bad.

Umeko felt even happier when they reached Uvasmal because he saw Loren again and he could tell that seeing his brother made Zale happier, he knew because whenever he saw his brother he felt happier too. It made a lot of sense, he smiled softly to himself and hid it behind his scarf. Umeko's eyes wandered over to the tiny town. It was utterly amazing, he had never ever seen anything like it, it wasn't like a toy town it seemed so real and beautiful and all the mushrooms were pretty too. He liked how they all were different sizes and how the colors were so vibrant. Minako became squirmy once they reached the tiny town, probably because she wanted to get down and look at it. Umeko didn't want to let her down yet even though his arm felt a little bit tired. He was worried about her.

Then Zale started to speak and Umeko stared at him and listened intently. "I-I see...th-thank you for t-telling me...a-are they t-t-tasty?" Poor Umeko grew nervous when he had to speak but he was speaking and that was a miracle within itself. Normally he would just shut down around anyone that wasn't Satsuki but right now he was trying really hard to speak. He nodded as Zale spoke and he gazed at the mushrooms curiously. He wondered if they really did taste good. He liked mushrooms in their world so he would probably like them here too, right? It would make sense if it worked that way, he wanted to like them too. He wanted to like all of Wonderland.

When the other swung his hand back and forth Umeko relaxed even more and closed his eyes for a minute, it felt so calming and nice and he really really loved the feeling of just swinging his hand back and forth with Zale. It made him feel really special and safe. Yet after a moment he opened his eyes and looked over to Satsuki he needed to make sure his brother was okay. Umeko's attention always went back to his older brother no matter what happened because Satsukie meant the world to him.

“Words and hearts should be handled with care for words when spoken and hearts when broken are the hardest things to repair.”

Vanessa Aceline.
The Caterpillar.

"Naughty thoughts are bad!"

Vanessa had actually been sleeping for the most part, for almost half of the day he had just been resting in his tiny house which was small and cozy and filled with pretty things that he happened to find. He had been sleeping because yesterday he had been working very very hard with helping everyone in the town with various chores and such. Vanessa was sort of like the little prince of Uvasmal and because of that he felt like it was his duty to help everyone and protect their homes and heal people and in general be a good person. He was the last of the Caterpillar line after all. It was his duty to protect and serve everyone so that they all could be healthy and happy and super duper excited to live where they lived. He had worked extra hard yesterday and because of that he was now sleeping the day away without a care in the world. It was really kind of adorable and it was sweet to see him all curled up in his bed resting and looking wonderfully innocent and magical.

Vanessa woke up some time after tea time and got dressed in his normal clothes. Silk stockings that were striped black and white went all the way up to his thighs, he wore no shoes with them since he more often than not flew everywhere. Dark denim shorts with large pockets and cute brown buttons covered up his lower half, although the shorts only started a little bit after his stockings stopped. A cute yellow tank top that had a vaguely oriental collar and design of pink flowers covers his upper half and on his hands were fingerless loose tan gloves that gave him an adorable mish mash look. His normal round glasses were on and his bright red hair was messy yet cute once more, his eyes were still wide and green and still magnified behind the glasses and his skin was still as pale as milk. His odd butterfly wings sparkling and whitish pink color and made him look terribly innocent and to top everything off he wore a tan headband that had two large sunflowers on it, one attached to each side of his head. He just looked like a cute little flower fairy to be honest.

Of course he spent some time after he awoke drinking some tea and eating some biscuits with jam on them and then he went outside and fluttered about the village in an excited manner. Vanessa was looking for people to help! Before he could even go off an help the people of Uvasmal he heard a familiar and melodic voice that caused him to fly up up up! It was Dahlia and while he was pretty sure the other said there were Alices he still needed to be sure. Vanessa didn't like to change sizes right after flying out of his village so he remained tiny and adorably frail looking. He flew up and looked around, Dahlia was there and so was Kit and Ix and Loren and Zale! Oh! There were also three new faces! A little girl who was tiny and cute and a boy who seemed timid and yet sweet and an older boy who seemed serious and yet kind. Vanessa flew around in circles for a moment and allowed his excitment to get to him before he fluttered closer to Dahlia and Kit. No one was sure why but Vanessa seemed to really love spending time with the two, he always assumed it was because they both were exactly like flowers and he loved flowers.

"Hello! Hello! Umm...do you need my help because I will do my very best if that is the case! Umm...umm...I don't have any presents for the Alices is that okay? I think I can go out and get something I dunno..."

As adorable and innocent as Vanessa was he still was very considerate. He worried about giving welcoming presents and he was blushing and fluttering around Dahlia and Kit in an excited nervous manner.

“We are like butterflies who flutter for a day and think its forever.”

Dahlia was so naughty and it made Kit’s face turn red and that was one day going to be the reason that Kit’s face wouldn’t turn back normal. Yes, he’d forever have a cherry face and it would be all Dahlia’s fault. Behave, indeed. Dahlia really did make Kit happy but Kit was afraid that if he gave in, he wouldn’t be special to Dahlia anymore. Some days, he wondered if he was a conquest and he wanted to believe he was one of Dahlia’s very best friends. Sometimes, he was just uncertain. Right now, he felt like Dahlia thought of him as one of his very best friends so that made Kit feel pretty happy. “On fifth thought, I’ll protect the Alices and you just stand there and look regal, Dahlia.” He murmured, giving the other a somewhat bored look but managing to be seductive even. Sadly, Kit didn’t know he could be seductive or anything like that. He always thought he could be rather awkward and that made him frustrated somewhat but he wasn’t exactly sure why it made him frustrated. Hmph…

"Once day...I promise you, you will have a baby all your own to love and hold."

Kit could not help the gentle smile that grew on his cheeks and he didn’t care that the overwhelming urge to kiss Dahlia hit him. He would kiss Dahlia later, only one kiss. He was just so happy that Dahlia cared enough about him to promise him a baby of his own. It was so sweet… He had to calm himself and focus his mind on something else or he’d start gushing and blubbering. So, his mind went to their lovely guests! The poor Alices were going to need help, but so far, everyone was taking care of them. Except for the jealous Loren. He was too busy being, well, jealous. Which was silly! …Then again, Kit had his jealous moments too. When Dahlia was involved, and he wished he would feel so possessive of the Hatter, but he did. Sometimes, he wondered what it would be like to… Well, to be with Dahlia sexually. The thought caused his face to turn redder but thankfully, they had reached Uvasmal. Looking around, Kit noticed that Loren was already there and he wondered why the other looked more upset than before. Did it have to do with the fact that Zale didn’t fly after him? Oh, that could very well be it. Loren needed to get over it. Immediately. He wasn’t allowed to ruin the trip. If he did anything to sabotage the trip, Kit would turn him into something if he could. So help him! Before he got the chance to answer Zale’s question, Dahlia was calling for Vanessa and Kit held his parasol firmly in his hand so he would start reaching out for the Vanessa once he arrived. Kit liked holding Vanessa in his hand when he was all tiny and butterfly, fairy-like. When Vanessa arrived, Kit’s face lit up in childish excitement and he dropped his parasol to lightly guide Vanessa onto his hand.

“Nessa is such a sweet darling. You do not need to worry. The Alices were not expecting a treat. Oh, look look look, they have a little girl.” He spoke softly, pointing the child out to Vanessa so he could see and be excited with Kit. Dahlia wasn’t as excited about the little girl as he was about the boys, so he wouldn’t share in Kit’s delight. But his precious Vanessa would. He loved Vanessa dearly. Almost as much as he loved Dahlia… Maybe he loved them the same equally. He couldn’t tell for sure at that moment. He was too excited!

The adventure with the Alices proved to be most exciting so far. Though, Kit had to carefully pick up his parasol and close it as he moved closer to Dahlia, still letting Vanessa stand in his hand. Oh, how he adored the caterpillar. In every sense. Really, he just felt like Vanessa was the only one who knew how he felt when it came to Dahlia. Everyone else had fallen into Dahlia's bed, but not the sweet Vanessa. It was nice to know Vanessa had self-control. Kit did too, but his was beginning to waver more and more each day. Some days, he was tempted to tell Dahlia to have his way with him as long as he was gentle and kind. The thoughts only sprung up when Dahlia was being particularly naughty. So, as long as Dahlia behaved, Kit didn't get all flustered and nervous and curious... Indeed.

[ooc] it’s almost not Kitty’s turn again! O: and what?! xD
and... down with my short posting! D:< [/ooc]
