User Image Name ~ Prince Briar Ashton Timaldi of the Kingdom of Besilras
Age ~ 20
Biography ~ Prince Briar was the first child to be born to the King and Queen of Besilras after a course of three miscarriages by the queen. Due to the queen’s waning health, Briar himself was quite sickly as a child. Terrified of losing him like her first three children Queen Umayet, kept watch on Briar constantly. She prevented him from taking part in any form of rigorous activity that might strain his frail body. Straining his mind however was a different matter. King Talis was determined that if his son were to be worthless as a warrior of brute force then he would become a great mage or strategies at least. Luckily for the king his son was quite gifted in magical prowess and by the time he was sixteen Briar was the realm’s greatest mage.
Family & Relationships ~ Queen Umayet (mother) - Briar is close to his mother but wishes she wouldn’t baby him so much. In his opinion she no longer has to worry abot his physical strength since he could easily harm a man with magic.
King Talis (father) ~ Briar is a bti resentful of his father who is always pushing him to stray from focusing merely on healing magic and to put more emphasis on becoming a better war mage. He loves his father but they often get into heated ‘discussions’ as his mother says.
Lord Tay Dagan (cousin) ~ Briar will never admit it but his annoying cousin is also his best friend. Tay is always there to make sure that Briar actually leaves his laboratory/library/study to experience the newest of those natural phenomena called ‘air.’
Personality ~ Briar is quiet and will not talk till you have driven him to the point of frustration. If he is forced to speak as part of his role of prince, Briar sounds polite but distant. Considering he usually is not paying attention to whatever he is saying explains the non caring tone of his voice. All in all Briar is just shy and not used to people since his mom never let him form that many relationships as a young child.
Likes ~ Reading, Riddles, Magic, dates(the fruit not the activity)
Dislikes ~ Loud noises, people who mark or bend pages in books, mangos, being outside
Pet ~ Briar has a pet falcon named Grin (as in Peregrine , he’s not very creative. His brain works more on the logical side)

'Do not touch my baby!' Fire, the symbol of hell a rose through her mind. 'You came here to kill us! Not her!' Those voices, they are close but so so very far away. Unreachable. A man came forth to her, he looked down at her with a terrible, sly smile that showed no mercy. his breath even smelled off alcohol. With movements quick and ruff, he unsheathed his sword from he waste. Blood stained the perfect blade down to the handle of those she loved. He chuckled and grabbed her hair. 'Ashes to ashes and dust to dust, in this world there is no one you can trust.'

Her eyes snapped open. Her body felt heavy as she tried to move her body. Sweat formed on her forehead. She shook her head and gentally rubbed her face trying not to cry from the scaring memory she was left with. The sun was covered today by a large dark cloud. It was going to rain without a doubt. Children were screaming in the streets of Besilras. A adorable chocolate lab jumped onto her lap and begun licking her perfect pale face. She giggled and wrapped her arms around her furry friend. "Mizu, I just had a very scary dream." She sighed as the dog tilted her head. "Don't worry about it." She patted her head gentally and rose to her feet. The wind from the opening in her poorly built shead blew through her raven hair and ran over her skin creating small bumps. "Hana!" A child called for her. hana turned around to see a small girl with blonde pigtails standing in her 'doorway'. She was covered in dirt and was missing a front tooth. Hana walked over to her and picked her up and gentally swing her around. "Good morning, Rosemary." The little girl laughed and she clung to Hana trying not to fly from her arms. As Hana set her down she asked "What brings you here today?" Rosemary dug through her pockets and held up a very coins. The coins of Besilras. "I found them and wanted to go shopping. Will you come with me, Hana?" Hana knew everything in Besilras was very expensive due to the nobles current raise on taxes. 'All they care about is money.' Hana thought bitterly. Rosemay's small hand cupped hers. Hana couldn't tell her that. "Sure.' Hana forced a smile. Rosemary cheered and ran over to Mizu to hug her. The day was very warm. The summers in Besilras could be cruel. So, Hana wore a ripped night gown that went slightly above her knees. It was laced around her waste and looked like a corset. The color was like a peach, well, a peach covered in dirt. The streets off her poor village in Besilras were filled up with young children who lost their parenst to war. They wore ragged clothes, if any at all. Not paying attention, Hana ran into someone not too much younger than Rosemary. He looked as if he was crying and wore a ragged over sized top. Hana could not take pity for him but she did want to help. He tugged at her gown and Hana knlet to meet his height. "M-ma'am? I'm hungary. Please help me find food." He pled. Hana touched his dirt covered face and smiled. "Of course. You may come with me and Rosemary." Rosemary walked up to the boy and took his hand. "You can stay with me. Want to be friends?" Hana could of sworn his face turned red. Hana giggled thinking how cute they could be together. "I'll be right back. I have something to take care of." Hana walked from the two kids and began her path to a stand where clothes were sold. No she wasn't going to buy anything. Her only intersist was the castle that stood boldly behind it in the distance. 'I wonder what it's like beyond the gates. I wonder what's it's like to be a noble. I wonder if I wouold be like them if my parents weren't killed.' The breeze picked up quickly. A strom was coming in fast. "Kids we need to-" Hana turned to where the where supposed to be but weren't there anymore. Neither was Mizu. Hana felt panicked as she glanced aqround her for the two children who weren't in sight. "Oh no..." Water ran down her neck and down her chest. She glanced up to the dark sky where lighting flashed acrossed the sky. "I have to find them!" Hana brust through the crowd of people.

There was no one in the world Prince Briar of Besilras hated more right now than his cousin, Tay Dagan. It was because of that idiot that he was now being dragged out of his beloved study into the horrid sunlight. Why his mother could not have waited another year to give birth to him had always amazed Briar. A year’s difference in age might have made his older cousin lose any interest in Briar. Not so however, since Tay insisted that due to their close proximity of ages that they should be the best of friends.
It was because of this supposed friendship that Tay had demanded that Briar come with him to the open market taking place in the village that surrounded the castle. Normally, he would have just put a locking spell on his study door and managed to ignore his cousin’s annoying taunts. However, on this fine morning his mother had intervened saying it would be best for him to ‘interact’ with the commoners. Didn’t his mother realize the only interaction he was going to have with any commoners would be spent apologizing to women for Tay’s blatantly stupid flirting techniques? Briar really didn’t think that was what his mother meant, yet she still managed to force him to go, much to Tay‘s delight.
“Quit your brooding Briar! It’s beautiful bright day! We’re in the village; no one knows who we are! We can just be ourselves!” Tay was definitely much too delighted for it to be this early in the morning in Briar’s opinion. As for no one recognizing them, Tay must have been clueless. How many commoners did he see walking around with a ring on each finger and ear hoops? There was no way no one didn’t recognize Lord Tay Dagan and through process of elimination, onlookers would probably guess that his companion was the realms shy Prince Briar.
“If no one knows who we are dear cousin, then why are people moving out of our way? And staring at us?” Briar was quite amused when his cousin finally realized this, especially when he began to blush. As much as he hated to admit it Tay was his best friend, and thus was quite fun to embarrass especially when it was so easy.
After a few minutes, his embarrassed cousin had turned back into his regular self. Tay was currently flirting with a girl who was selling oranges. Briar looked away disgusted. He loved his cousin but he hated when he did this. Commoner woman always flirted back with nobles no matter the circumstances because they were either afraid or need the money, sometimes both. And noble men knew this and took advantage of it. It just didn’t seem right to Briar.
Briar heard the first crack of thunder just as Tay was about to invite the young woman up to the castle for a ‘rendezvous.’ The rain pouring down was a great distraction for him to pull his cousin away. For a split second, Briar felt like chastising Tay, but that wasn’t his place. He refused to be his cousin’s moral compass. Not because he approved of his Tay’s actions, Briar just didn’t like taking on a task he’d know he would fail at.
The pair ran through the city streets trying to find shelter. Briar thought it would have been sensible to run towards the castle, but Tay was insistent he knew a good place to hide out from the rain. That good place turned out to be an inn dubbed the Turning Turtle. Yes, that sounded like a ‘wonderful’ place.
Walking into the inn, which was basically a bar, Briar quickly looked for an empty place for him to hide out until he his cousin got drunk enough for Briar to convince him to leave. However, when he saw a table with two small children sitting around it in the corner, Briar decided his attention should best be centered on them. After all what kind of horrible person left children alone to walk into a bar known for its depravity?
As Tay headed straight towards the bar, Briar went to talk to the two children. Getting closer he realized it was a young boy and girl, a mutt at their feet, greedily devouring what looked to be a strawberry tart. By the looks in their eyes, Briar could tell the two hadn’t eaten in quite sometime. Their barely there ratty clothing showed just how poor they were. Briar sighed; they must have been another pair of war orphans, children who ran the streets of the small village, with absolutely no one to take care of them. He knew he couldn’t do anything to change the pair’s plight, but at least he could see they had something more substantial to eat.
Calling a ‘waitress’ (Briar was smart enough not to call her a barmaid), the prince ordered a quite substantial meal for the two children. He got a strange sort of glee watching from another table, as the large plate of food was set before the table. The pair’s eye widened and two smiles with missing teeth widened in delight. Briar knew the smile would eventually dwindle into nonexistence again but for now at the least, the children were happy and soon to be full.
