Piper pulled her cell phone out of her pocket when they arrived back to Shadow, he was still coughing, holding his chest. She quckly dialed 911, waiting for them to answer. She was worried for him, his asthma had never been this bad. Finally a woman answered on the other end "911, what's your emergency?" the woman asked "My friend is having an asthma attack" she said, she gave her all the information and the address and hung up. She kneeled in front to Shadow, and next to the other knight "Come on Shadow, you can make it" she said.
A few minutes later she heard an ambulance, she helped him up, taking one of his arms and putting it over her shoulder, she half carried him to the front door and into the ambulance, the other knight stayed behind to tell his father and Piper went with him in the ambulance. She held his hand.

Shadow continued to cough horribly, and the next few minutes seemed to fly by. He saw Piper in front of him, and then he was being helped by her, and the next thing he knew he was in an ambulance with Piper holding his hand. He looked at her and smiled weakly. "I'll be...alright..." He coughed again.
Piper squeezed his hand a bit "You better be, or I'll hunt you in your death" she joked, smiling at him, and realising a moment later how uncalled for that was "Sorry.." she said.

Shadow chuckled at her joke, which sent him into another coughing fit. When he was done, he looked at her weakly and squeezed her hand back. "Why are...you apologizing...? You have...nothing to...be sorry for..." His voice was weak and barely audible, and he looked paler than a ghost. It was completely obvious that he was very ill.
Piper sighed, he looked horrible, he was super pale and she could barely hear what he was saying and he kept coughing, she knew this couldn't just be his asthma, something else was wrong...but what? "Hang in there" she said.

Shadow nodded, determined to follow her advice. He needed to live. Soon they were at the hospital, and the doctor told Piper to wait in the waiting room while they performed tests and other things to find out what was wrong with the Prince.
Piper nodded to the doctor who told her to wait there, she squeezed his hand again "Good luck Shade" she said, using her nickname for him. She sat down in one of the chairs but soon lost patience and started pacing around the waiting room.

After what seemed like forever, but was only an hour. The doctor walked out and looked around. He then saw Piper and walked over to her, looking at his clipboard as he did so. "Are you Piper Macdow?"
After about half an hour of pacing, Piper finally sat herself down and tried to calm down, she bought herself a chocolate bar out of the vending machine, an old habit she had develloped in her childhood which she had dropped when she started training to become a knight. Every once in awhile it did show itself, in situations of high streess like this. A few minutes after she had finished her chocolate bar, she saw a doctor, she stood up immediately when he started walking towards her, he asked if she was Piper, "Yeah, that's me. How is he? Is he okay?" she tried to calm herself down again, watching him as he looked at his clipboard.

The doctor's face showed no sign of emotion whatsoever. He checked his clipboard again, this time speaking to her while doing so. "The Prince had a very severe case of bronchitis. It has progressed a lot. He will need surgery to repair his bronchial tube. Other than that, he should be fine. I must warn you though. This procedure is very risky, but also could save his life. It could end his asthma attacks for good." The doctor looked at her.

The doctor chuckled, suddenly cleared on the whole matter that she meant. "You misunderstood. I said that the bronchitis was bad yes, but if he doesn't get the operation, then he will be bed ridden for weeks, if not months. And if he has the procedure done, then he will be in bed for about a week, maybe two tops." He smiled at the girl, trying to be reassuring.
