_________ ...Don't you ever tell me I'm not loving you best.

-X- The car zoomed down the street, with all the windows open. Josh smiled as his hair blew around his face, his sunglasses being the only thing hiding him from fans. Someone did manage to recognize him as he slowed at a stop sign, and waved. He smiled at them, and wiggled his fingers slightly before driving off. He loved how normal people from Vancouver acted around him. There were still those times when people would knock on their door at 3 a.m. or would freak out if they saw the boys on the street, but most people were used to them, since a lot of people had grown up with them. Josh sighed and pulled into a mall parking lot, closing and locking the windows. He undid his seatbelt and pulled his knee’s up to his chest. Despite his happy feelings from talking to Ian, and bringing Maggie her stuff, he couldn’t help but feel… Sad. Maggie had pretty much rejected him. Was his confession not good enough? Or was the band really that important to her. He sighed and rubbed his eyes, wishing someone would just tell him what to do to make everything fit together. ”Life is turning out to be like a jigsaw puzzle.” Josh muttered to himself quietly. ”There’s a thousand pieces, which all need to fit together. Yet they can only actually fit with one of two other pieces, and if one piece isn’t pushed into the right space, nothing looks right. There’s only one way to solve it… Even if it takes your entire life to get it right” He continued. Then he opened the sun guard above the windshield and pulled open the small mirror. He stuck his tongue out, at inspected his tongue ring. Then he closed his mouth and the mirror and sighed. Do people think I’m a sell out? Or a wanna be? Maybe that’s all I am… Josh thought to himself, then slid his feet, until they were once again resting on the floor of the car, and quickly started up the car. ”Best pick me up in the world? Starbucks” Josh muttered happily to himself, then pulled out of the parking lot, making his way to the Starbucks that was in a less crowded area.

-X- Josh smiled as he pulled up to the curb, and didn’t take off his sunglasses until he was actually inside the Starbucks. He walked to the counter and smiled. ”Hey Karen” Josh said. Karen smiled and leaned against the counter. ”Hey Josh. I heard about the fire. Is everyone alright?” She asked. Josh nodded and shrugged. ”No one got hurt, but we lost a good amount of stuff.” Josh said. Karen shrugged as well and pushed away from the counter. ”At least you’re all alright. It sucks about the tour though. So anyway. What can I get for you?” Karen asked. Josh raised an eye brow and ran his fingers through his hair. ”Do you even have to ask?” he murmured, playing with the edge of his sleeve. Karen shook her head and smiled. ”I thought maybe you’d want something a little different. You gotta change thing’s up every once and a while” Karen called over the buzz of the drink machines. Josh smiled and shrugged. ”I’m the kind of guy that like’s things staying the same. s**t gets too complicated otherwise” Josh said, smiling as she pushed the drink towards him. ”Obviously. So… Speaking of things getting complicated. Have you and Maggie talked? Like… At all since you left?” Karen asked. Josh smiled, then sighed. ”Yeah… What’s happened between Maggie and I is kind of why I like things staying the same. s**t. Gets. Complicated. Not because of her… Just because… I don’t know.” Josh said, sipping his drink. ”Do you regret her coming back into your life?” Karen asked. She was another friend from school. She was graduating when Josh was in grade 9, and was now almost finished college, whereas Josh just finished high school. Josh shook his head vigorously, and swallowed quickly. ”Not at all. Matt’s the problem. Some stuff happened between him and Maggie, and then me and him, and then me and Maggie, and then me and him. And… Now the band is kind of split down the middle. We aren’t going to stop the band of anything just… Matt and Mike hate me and Ian, and me and Ian just want to explain what happened. I tried giving Matt some stuff earlier, and he shot me with a pellet gun…” Josh said. Karen chuckled and leaned against the counter once more, resting her elbows against the top. ”Weren’t you and Matt super close though?” Karen asked. Josh shrugged and sat on the counter. ”I guess. Although, now it’s kind of difficult to know what his intentions really were.” Josh mumbled, taking a long sip of his frappuccino once he’d finished speaking. ”What do you mean?” She asked. Josh sighed and scratched the back of his neck. ”He always liked Maggie. She was the only reason he became my friend. Now he’s the reason why I stopped talking to her.” Josh explained. Karen nodded and folded her hands. ”But now she’s the reason the band is fighting, right?” Karen asked. Josh nodded. ”Then wouldn’t the simplest option just be to let her go?” Karen asked softly, not wanting to make Josh angry. Josh sighed and shook his head. ”That wouldn’t fix anything. And even if it would, she means to much to me. I don’t want to lose her again…” Josh said quietly, not bothering to mention that he already had lost her again.

-X- Once Josh had finished his drink, he made his way back to the car. He let out a small sigh as he unlocked the door, and looked up as he heard footsteps behind him. He turned and gasped as he found himself face to face with a guy who was only a little bit taller then him. ”Who was that?” He asked. Josh looked to both sides of him, a confused look crossing his face. ”Huh?” Josh said in reply, extremely confused how who the boy was, and who he could possibly be talking about. He sighed impatiently, and shifted his weight from one foot to the other, ”In the Starbucks. Who were you talking to, and how do you know her?” He asked. Josh crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes, although the guy couldn’t see because Josh was still wearing his sunglasses. ”Uh… Her name is Karen. We went to high school together. But she’s older then me by three years.” Josh said quietly, noticing Karen giving him a questioning look through the window of the Starbucks. ”Mm-hmm. And how did you two become friends?” he asked. Josh rolled his eyes and leaned against the car. ”I don’t remember. It was four years ago” Josh mumbled. The boy raised his eyebrows at Josh then shifted his weight once more. ”Either way. Weren’t you a little bit… Close to her? Seeing as you have a girlfriend and all” he said. Josh’s eyes grew wide, and his mouth formed a small ‘o’ ”W-who said that? I don’t have a girlfriend” Josh mumbled, although he wished he did. He wished it were Maggie. The boy raised his eyebrow again, in a way that was really starting to piss Josh off. ”Oh really? Because… A source tells me that you are with someone. And that her name is Maggie” he said smugly. Josh’s eyes widened even more, but he quickly recovered and made his face emotionless. ”Who said that?” Josh asked. He laughed and copied Josh’s position of crossed arms. ”She did. Saw her in some coffee shop. She looked a little sad, but she told me aaall about you, and your past. And about how she’s your girl. Is that true?” he asked. Josh felt his breath catch in his chest. Maggie had told someone about him, and their friendship. Someone who was definitely related to the media in some way. He was also shocked that she would say that she was with him, when she had just told him she could be with him, only a few hours ago.

-X- Josh sighed in defeat and hung his head. Why was everything so confusing? ”I uh… I guess that’s true then. If that’s what she said” Josh said quietly. He nodded and smirked. ”S’what I thought. So um… What do you like about her? A guy like you could have anyone… Why her?” He asked. Josh looked at the sky and breathed in deeply. ”I love her. Simple as that” He said, then he opened the car door and slid in. He started up the ignition and drove off, smiling at the shocked look on the guy’s face. He drove slowly, not really wanting to be home just yet, because he knew that the minute he stepped through the door there would be tension. Josh sighed, as he thought back to the discussion with the reporter. Had Maggie really told him all about their past? Josh frowned in confusion. Maggie had never wanted anything like that in her life. She didn’t want the complications, yet she had told someone the one thing that would make everything more complicated. Josh and Matt’s fight included. He shook his head as he pulled into the drive way, and made his way up the front steps of the house, entering to the sound of laughter. Josh smiled as he stepped into the living room, seeing that the other three were all sitting on the couches, laughing about something one of them had said. ”Hey guys” Josh said happily. They all instantly stopped laughing, Mike and Matt looking at each other. Ian however, smiled and stood up. ”Hey. You’re back. Come on, we did a bit more shopping, so I’ll come help you cut tags off stuff.” Ian said, directing Josh from the room. ”You don’t have to. I didn’t mean to ruin the fun” Josh said resentfully. Ian shook his head. ”You didn’t ruin s**t. Matt just spilt water all over himself. Other then that, it’s still super uncomfortable with them. I was so glad when you stepped through the door.” Ian said. Josh smiled as they entered the room, and gasped as he realized how clean it was.

-X- ”What’d you do?” Josh asked, happy that he could finally walk across the room without having to watch of for stepping on something. Ian shrugged and followed Josh to his bed, where a bunch of colourful bags sat. They both sat down and began pulling stuff out, Josh trying stuff on while Ian cut tags. ”I love this stuff” Josh said, as he checked out his new jeans in the mirror. Ian chuckled and shook his head. ”You love everything that adds to your looks” Ian said. Josh narrowed his eyes and began putting clothes on hangers, so that he could just put them into the closet when they were done. Ian stood up once all the tags had been removed, and stretched. ”I think I’ll go start up some laundry, then get stuff ready for dinner. Wanna come help when you’re done?” Ian asked Josh, who was carefully putting clothes on hangers, so that all the hangers could face the same way. Josh looked up and smiled. ”Sure. What are you thinking of making?” Josh asked. Ian shrugged and began walking across the room, picking up his laundry basket on the way. ”Home made pizza or something. We’ve had waaay too much Mcdonalds lately” Ian said. Josh laughed, and ran his fingers through his hair, his smile evaporating once Ian had closed the door. Josh quickly finished putting all the clothes on hangers, then picked everything up and hung them in order of colour and what type of clothes they were. Josh liked how Ian had made it clear which side was Josh’s, and which side was his, instead of just having a mish-mosh of clothes thrown wherever they would fit. Josh sighed and stood, staring at his clothes. He loved how neat they looked, and how easily everything fit. Josh smiled and ran his fingers along his clothes, then jumped as a slender pair of arms wrapped around his waist. He smiled as they squeezed him, since he immediately knew who it was. Josh smiled even wider as Maggie said nothing would break them apart again, and felt his heart flutter with excitement as she kissed him. Josh was a little confused when she pulled him out of the room, and felt his stomach drop to his feet as she sat him down with the rest of them. Josh listened as Maggie spoke, feeling more and more like he was drowning as she went on. He loved what Maggie was saying, and how she was trying to fix everything, but Josh could see that it was only making Matt even more angry, and Mike even more disgusted in Josh. Josh looked over at Matt, who looked so angry that Josh was afraid that he would explode. And eventually, he did.

-X- Matt stood up, and looked straight at Maggie. ”I’m not rebuilding s**t with him. He’s a liar, a backstabber, and just a straight up d**k. He broke a promise to me, and now I hate him. I’m staying in the band, but I refuse to have anything to do with him Matt growled. Mike smiled up at him, and Josh looked down at his pants, hoping Maggie wouldn’t say anything in reply to Matt. Then Josh stood up, and sighed. He looked right into Maggie’s eyes, hoping his face would tell her what he was trying to say, which was ‘thanks for trying. Might have made stuff worse, but I still love you, and I always will’. Then he walked from the room, his head hung low, as he tried to hide the fact that Matt’s words had hurt him. A lot. He made his way slowly up the stairs, tears building in his eyes as he sat on his bed. He wiped a tear away, that had fallen from his eyes and looked up as Ian walked into the room. ”She had guts to say that” Ian said, sitting beside Josh. Josh nodded and wiped his eyes, so that no more tears would fall in front of Ian. ”I know you love her and all, but I think that made stuff worse” Ian said softly. Josh nodded again and ran his fingers through his hair. ”yeah, but at least she said. It needed to be said, and it’s better it was said now, while everything is still all ********, instead of later, when it could cause more problems” Josh said. Ian nodded and sighed. ”True, true. So… are you and her together now?” Ian asked. Josh sighed and launched into his story about the reporter. ”So… She told the reporter that we were together, but she hasn’t really said anything to me. Other then she loves me, and that nothing will break us apart” Josh said. Ian shrugged. ”Maybe that was her way of saying ‘you’re mine. I’m yours. Simple as that’. Or maybe she’s waiting for you to ask her out” Ian said. Josh shook his head. ”She said she couldn’t be with me… And she hasn’t said anything about changing her mind. Can I really trust a reporter?” Josh asked. Ian shrugged again and sighed. ”You can’t. Anyway… I should go make sure a fight doesn’t break out down there. You stay here and… calm down a bit. Want me to send Maggie up?” Ian asked. Josh sighed. ” I don’t know if she’ll want to. I kind of just walked away from her… She’ll come if she wants… Just focus on calming Matt down, try not to draw attention to Maggie” Josh said, then buried his face in his hands, and let more tears fall from his eyes, as he thought back to what Matt had said.

Sighing Maggie didn't say anything, she was more distracted on Josh who was standing up. Being nice she simply nodded to him before she glared at his leaving figure. Still she didn't say anything till Ian had left also and once he was clearly gone she looked to Mike and Matt, glaring at both boys till a smirk appeared on her face. "You two are going to make things so much harder...and for that you two are in trouble." Now if you haven't noticed yet Maggie gets annoyed easily and when that happens she takes drastic measures. First she needed to 'dispose' of Mike for the time being but how would she do that? A giggled surpassed her lips as she motioned for Matt to wait a moment before she took Mike by the collar of his shirt and pulled him away and off around the corner to a hallway closet that she locked Mike in after a bit of struggling. Was she taking it too far? Yep, but she needed to sort things out one at a time and she couldn't have anyone leaving or doing something else. _________ ...Don't you ever tell me I'm not loving you best.

-X- Josh strummed the guitar, smiling as Matt copied his chords. Matt smiled back, and Josh began playing the harmony, instead of the melody, waiting until Matt could keep in tempo with him, before he began singing. After a couple lines of the song, Josh stopped singing, and playing two write down a couple lines he had thought of while singing, and noticed an comfortable look on Matt’s face when he looked up from his lyric book. ”you okay Matt?” Josh asked, his tone sounding worried. ”How long have we been hanging out, Josh?” Matt asked quietly. Josh looked up at the ceiling thoughtfully, counting up the weeks since they’d become friends. He sighed, as he realized that the longer he’d known Matt, the less he’d been hanging out with Maggie. ”Two months, I think” Josh said.. Matt nodded and shook out his hair, which was longer then. ”I have to tell you something…” Matt said. Josh’s eyes widened, and he put his guitar down, resting it against the couch they sat on. ”What is it?” Josh asked. Matt took a deep breath, and gave Josh a small smile. ”I really like your friend Maggie. That’s part of the reason why I became your friend. The only reason, actually” Matt said. Josh felt his eyes go wider, and his mouth turn into a little ‘o’ as he stared at Matt. ”So you don’t even like hanging out with me?” Josh asked quietly, trying not to show Matt how much it hurt him to find out that he’d been using him. Then Matt’s eyes widened and he shook his head furiously. ”No, no. I do. She’s the only reason I started talking to you. Now, I really like hanging out with you. You’re like… My best friend” Matt said. Josh felt his face soften and he smiled at Matt. ”You’re next after Maggie, Matt. No worries” Josh said, then he picked up his guitar, and the two of them began playing again, as if Matt had said nothing.

-X- More tears spilt from Josh’s eyes as the memory flashed through his mind.. That had been the moment that Josh realized that he really did have a best friend other then Maggie, and that he could get along with other people. The only problem with Matt, had been that he’d taken Josh away from Maggie, and had almost done the same thing now, two years later. He wiped the tears from his face, and took a deep breath. Things had gotten so messed up lately, and Josh just couldn’t figure out why. He lifted his head and looked around his room, which he now shared with Ian. It was clean, and smelt like laundry detergent and Frebreze, instead of the “there’s two boys that never clean up. Ever” smell, which used to hang around the edges of the room. Josh chuckled to himself and wiped his eyes again. Why would he miss that smell? Why would be miss clothes all over the floor? Sharing the room with Ian, would mean that it would always be clean. Josh’s notes were neatly in a folder, where Josh usually kept them, although they often got messy. With Matt, they were always all over the place, as the two of them would try writing harmonies and melodies to Josh’s lyrics. Now Matt wouldn’t be taking Josh’s clothes without asking, and leaving them on the floor somewhere, so that when Josh needed it, he couldn’t find it. Now he had his own clothes, his own space, and Ian even cleaned off Josh’s desk, so now he could write there, instead of on his bed. Josh sighed, and felt more tears building in his eyes. As nice as it all was in his head, Josh knew… Matt was his best friend, other then Maggie, and he had been since the 11th grade. They had shared almost everything, and Matt had helped him through all his insecurities, and problems he may have faced. Then again, Maggie would have as well, had Josh and Matt not become friends. Tears began to fall from Josh’s eyes again, as he realized that even though he had tried his hardest to avoid it, he was now forced to pick a side. Either way, the band was still in tact, but now he had to choose between friends. He was more or less leaning towards Maggie, only because she was a friend, and his girlfriend. Or at least she would be once Josh actually spoke to her about everything that happened. Matt was just… His roommate. His band mate. His writing partner… Josh felt a little bit like a 5 year old in a pet store. He was allowed either a kitten, or a puppy, but they both had qualities that he liked, and qualities that made it difficult to say “I for sure want that one”. Kittens, can be held, cuddled, and loved on your worst days. But puppies are always around, nagging at you until you do what they want, or until you do what you’re supposed to do. He loved Maggie, and nothing would change that. He wanted to hold her, and comfort her, and just be there for her the same way she was all through their lives. Maggie was his, the same way he was hers. Josh always liked kittens better then puppies, anyways.

-X- Josh looked up as he sensed someone in front of him, and felt his heart do flips as Maggie’s blue eyes stared back at him. He sniffled as she wiped his tears away, and then stared at his shoes, waiting until she spoke. He smiled to himself as she pulled him closer to her, happy that she hadn’t really taken offense to him leaving the room once she finished speaking. As she held him, tears continued to flow silently from his eyes, as the realization that he had picked Maggie over Matt finally hit him. In a way, Maggie had always been first, and even if Josh wanted it to work out differently, this is the way it was. There was no getting around it. He loved Maggie, and he needed her. Just like she needed him. When the tears finally stopped, he just leaned over and rested the side of his head against her shoulder, watching her hands as she played with his fingers. He listened quietly as she explained, and nodded slightly, closing his eyes, as he listened to the soft sound of her voice. ”I know, Mags. That’s how s**t works with you” Josh whispered, lifting his head as she laid back against his pillows. He looked down as Maggie as she continued, sort of happy that she was focused on his fingers, and not the total look of adoration towards her, that his face was displaying. He smiled like a kid being offered a plate of chocolate chip cookies as she finished her sentence, and nodded once more, following her eyes to the ceiling as he spoke in reply to what she had said. ”I would have found a way to have you anyway. You make me, me Maggie. You’re my everything. You always have been” He said, allowing his body to go limp as she pulled on his arm, smiling at her once he was laying in a comfortable position. Josh’s smile faded as he listened to her voice, concentrating more on the way she said it, then what she said exactly. He could tell, just by her tone, that she was being completely honest, and that she was 100 percent sure of what she wanted, and what she was saying. Josh then rolled over onto his side and kissed her forehead, wrapping his arm around her small body, and pulling her closer to him. He nuzzled his face into her neck as he spoke, smiling. ”I’ll always protect you, through everything. While I’m on watch, no storm will get anywhere close to you, and I’ll always love you no matter what. I always have, even before I realized that I was in love with you. I’ll always be by your side Maggie” Josh whispered softly, closing his eyes, willing the moment to last forever.

-X- Josh opened his eyes after Maggie kissed him, and smiled as she giggled. He loved her laugh. He scrunched up his face when she poked his nose, but then sat up in shock as Maggie stood up, pulling him from the room. ”That’s fine with me” Josh said, frowning as he realized how late his reaction was, but smiling as he understood the look on her face. He grabbed her hand, intertwining his fingers with hers, not letting go, even as she searched the cupboards. Josh ran his fingers through his hair with his free hand, and then reluctantly pulled his hand away from Maggie’s as she grabbed a pack of pop tarts. Then it was his turn to scope the kitchen for something to eat. He smiled when he found a container of Pringles and pulled a few out, leaning against the counter beside Maggie as he munched. He made an odd groaning sound in her direction as she began messing with his hair, only pretending to care, since he really didn’t mind when she played with it. ”I do my hair last minute anyway” Josh murmured, before popping another chip in his mouth. Josh laughed as Maggie attempted to fix his now messy hair, not at all surprised when she eventually gave up on keeping it neat, and ended up messing it up again. He sighed happily as he chewed, realizing that he had finally gotten what he wanted, even if he had lost something along the way. Something he could probably get back… Eventually. He had his band, his fame, and now he had Maggie, the one thing that had always truly mattered. If he was really being honest with himself, having Maggie would really have been the best thing for him, even if he had to play dark, foggy bars for his whole musical career. ”It’s the blue. You’ve always been attracted to colourful things. That’s why you always liked ‘My Little Pony’ better then Barbies” Josh chuckled, surprised that he even remembered as far back, as when Maggie actually did girly things. Josh watched as Maggie slid off the counter, and threw her trash away, wondering if she was still going to live in her house, or the spare room in theirs. He shrugged slightly to himself, and stared back at Maggie as she looked at him, still leaning against the counter, a small smirk on his lips.

-X- Josh’s eyes widened as he noticed Maggie’s go wide, meaning she had something she needed, or wanted to do in mind. Josh stepped towards her, knowing that no matter what it was, he’d be doing it with her, just because that was the way it always was. Josh allowed Maggie to take his hand, and pull him towards her car, now curious about what could be so important that she needed to do it right then. He slid in, and then buckled up his seat belt, then watched as Maggie did up her own. For a couple minutes, Josh just stared at Maggie, watching as she started the car, pulled away from the house, and then watched the roads, trying to find the right place she wanted to go. Josh sighed as he realized she wasn’t going to give him any hints of where they were going, so instead he stared out the window, feeling comfortable enough with the silence, that he didn’t feel the need to break it with miscellaneous chatter. So many things were running through Josh’s head, that it was making him a little nauseous. He smirked to himself, as he watched Vancouver whiz past them, deciding to organize his thoughts the same way he organized his lyrics. First, he put them into groups. Maggie, Matt, food, Vancouver, and the Band. Then he went through each thought, putting them in order of importance. Maggie being his, Maggie’s hair colour, Maggie’s insane driving. Vancouver. Vancouver next. Vancouver zooming past them, where in Vancouver were they going? Why was Maggie speeding through Vancouver? Where were the Vancouver cops, telling Maggie to slow the heck down, so that she didn’t kill them. Them. ‘Them’ brought up the band. The band Josh belonged to, luckily. The band which was now split in half, the band which now hated him, the band that needed more songs. Songs that couldn’t be written until Josh had inspiration. Inspiration was sitting beside him. Songs that couldn’t be written until Josh had more energy to think. Food gives more energy. Grumbling stomach, informing Josh that food was necessary. Food could not be obtained until Matt was no longer mad at him, for Matt often hung out in the kitchen, and Josh was now scared of Matt. Josh had completely zoned out while going through his thoughts, only realizing that they had stopped when he heard Maggie’s door close. He stepped out quickly, and made his way to Maggie, who took his hand and pulled him through the wide empty space. As they walked, he breathed in the air. Something about Vancouver parks just made him smile. Or maybe it was just the fact that he was with Maggie. ”It’s fine. It reminds me of the adventures we used to always go on when we were little” Josh mused, slightly behind her as she pulled him along the path. Then he stared up in disbelief as she stopped in front of a large tree, and shook his head. Maggie and her tree’s… ”yeah. Cause I really want to follow you up there” Josh said sarcastically once she was out of hearing range. Josh watched in confusion as Maggie reached inside the tree, and pulled out a box, that still have some leaves and dirt stuck to it. He held out his arms slightly as she climbed back down, in case her, or the box fell.

-X- He smiled at her as she wiped the dirt and leaves off, and gasped as she opened it. Inside was all the pictures of them, that had ever been taken. His heart squeezed inside his chest, as he thought maybe the picture Matt had burned was in there. He so hoped it was, since it was is favourite picture of Maggie. He took the box carefully, and looked up at Maggie, tears filling his eyes. This was the second best thing Maggie would give him, herself being the first. Despite all the bad stuff that had happened, this day was becoming the best one Josh had ever had, and he knew that he would always remember it. He put the lid on the box carefully, and decided that he would continue adding to it. Every time a picture of the two of them would be taken, he would put it in the box. That way if he ever felt like his life had been bad, or like it hadn’t gone his way, he could just look back through and say “Oh right, I spent this with Maggie. I got what I wanted. I always had her”. Josh pulled her into a tight hug, and then followed her back down to the car. Deciding that he didn’t want to cry in front of her anymore, he put looking through the pictures off, and would do it once he was alone. He stared at the lid of the box as Maggie drove, once again being comfortable with the silence. When the car stopped, he was fully aware of it. Everything seemed to be enhanced. Every sound, every motion and every colour. Josh felt like he was high, only it was a better feeling then that. It was happiness. Pure, pure happiness. Even stepping into the house didn’t seem like that big of a deal, even if it meant facing Matt. He had the box full of everything Josh and Maggie had ever done. The box contained pretty much Josh’s entire life, and he couldn’t wait to look through, and laugh about how awkward they had both been when they were little. He walked into the house, in a daze, and only snapped out of it when he walked into the small table they kept in the hall, with their phone on it. ”Ow” He grumbled as he walked behind Maggie. Josh closed his eyes as Maggie kissed him, and pouted as she pulled away, running his fingers through his messy hair was Maggie skipped away, to go watch T.v., or something. Then Josh smiled, and clutched the box tightly in his hand, and ran up the stairs, skipping two at a time, cursing under his breath every time he tripped. Josh slammed the door to his room shut, and pounced on his bed. He put the box on the bed. And pulled the lid of carefully, placing it down, so that he could put picture’s he’d already seen inside of it. He pulled the first one out, and smiled as he studied his and Maggie’s smiling faces. Josh continued looking at the pictures, until a small knock on the door caused him to jump. Josh stared at the door, his blue eyes wide, not even bothering to push his dark hair from his eyes. His heart skipped a beat when he saw Matt’s face between the small crack of the door, as he opened it. Josh quickly composed himself, and nodded, saying Matt could come in. Matt looked at the floor as he stepped through the door, closing it softly behind him.

-X- Sighing, Matt crossed the room, and sat on the edge of Josh’s bed, staring at all the pictures Josh had looked through. Sighing once more, Matt looked up at Josh, sadness in his eyes. ”She really means a lot to you, doesn’t she?” Matt asked quietly. Josh nodded, feeling tears building in his eyes. Matt grimaced and took a deep breath. ”I don’t think I ever really liked her. More just… The idea of her.” Matt explained quietly, guilt in his voice. ”Sometimes it’s hard to tell the two feelings apart. I don’t blame you for anything that’s happened” Josh murmured quietly. Matt, who had been looking at his pants looked up, the corners of his mouth twitching, as he realized Josh was being totally honest. ”The fire was my fault” Matt said. Josh shook his head, and slowly began putting the pictures back in the box. ”The fire itself was your fault. But I don’t blame you for it. The funny thing about fires, is that for them to spread, something has to provoke it. Usually oxygen. This time, it was jealousy” Josh murmured quietly, hoping Matt would understand what he meant. Matt’s lips twitched again, but still stayed in a small frown. ”So, you’re with her now?” Matt asked. Josh nodded, and put the lid on the box, one single tear escaping from his eyes, and rolling down his face. Then he looked up, seeing Matt looking around the room. ”Man, Ian really cleaned this place up. It doesn’t even look like the same room. I bet you’re gonna love living with him” Matt said in disbelief at the state of the room. ”Matt!” Josh interrupted, wanting Matt to get back to the topic he had originally come to talk to josh about. ”Oh, right. Sorry. Anyway… I wanted to say sorry.” Matt said. Josh nodded, and finally pushed his hair out of his eyes. ”I forgive you” Josh said, although Matt probably couldn’t hear him, since he was still talking. ”I mean. I’m really sorry. For threatening you, and stuff.” matt continued. ”I forgive you Matt” Josh said again, only Matt was still talking. ”Like… I was soooo out of line. Totally out of line. I’m actually surprised you’re taking the time to talk to me after what I did. Punching you especially. I feel so bad.” Matt continued. ”Matt! I said I forgive you” Josh said, finally loud enough that Matt could hear him. Matt smiled sheepishly and folded his hands in his lap. ”Oh sorry.” Matt said. Josh smiled and rolled his eyes, then his smile faded, and he sighed. ”And I’m sorry to” Josh said quietly. Matt leaned forward and punched Josh’s arm lightly. ”Don’t be” Matt said, then stood up. ”So then, we’re cool?” Matt asked. Josh nodded and smiled. Matt smiled back and made his way to the door, then slid out without saying anything else, leaving Josh by himself.

-X- Josh stood up, and made his way to the kitchen quietly. Once there, he poured the rest of the Pringles into a bowl, and carried them into the living room, where Maggie sat watching T.V. Smiling, Josh made his way to the couch, and plopped down beside her, putting the chips on the table in front of her, before kissing her cheek. Josh cuddles against her, and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath before focusing on the television, which was playing some show Josh didn’t know.

Her spirits were high and she even felt as if she was high off of happiness. Falling to the couch softly she sunk in and grabbed the remote to the TV, flipping through channels slowly as she watched the images float by the screen. Suddenly all the images seemed to dance off the screen, floating around her like in a marching band but as Maggie took a closer look she realized that the images weren't from the screen, they were images from her own life from the past week. Everything that had happened was right in front of her and now she understood that so much had happened in one week, almost as if time flew right by and who knows, maybe it did. Time was an interesting thing, it works in many different ways and depending on how well you manage everything it could be a good thing. In Maggie's case it was both good and bad. With time running faster then Maggie she thought she wouldn't be able to keep up, all the tense conversations, the fights, the arguments, the quiet hidden talks, and the small looks passed around. But maybe that's what Maggie needs to understand, time was meant to confuse you in order to allow you to reflect on everything and see what you could have changed then you learn from your mistakes, like Maggie's mistake of ever letting Josh go and saying yes to Matt when he asked her out. She took everything as it was and just let it go, she let everything take its own path while she stood behind and took the blows from all the obstacles that got in the way, something she shouldn't have done. -X- The minute Josh saw Maggie walk through the door, he pulled himself up, and brushed any dust that may have gotten on him, off his pants and smiled at her, as she fell into his arms, and quickly helped her regain her balance, chuckling a bit at her sheepish smile. Josh watched in adoration as Maggie fixed her shirt, then looked into her icy blue eyes as she explained what the doctor had said, a slow smile forming on his face. "That's great. I mean, not that you have to come back all the time, but that you're alright. All you needed was a little Josh-ness to cheer you right up." He said happily, kissing her cheek, laughing as she grabbed his hands and started dancing. "Mags, you're so weird" He muttered, his smile still on his lips, which grew wider when he heard her stomach growl. "Oh gee, great. As your boyfriend I get to spend tons of money on you. Woooo" Josh said sarcastically as they walked down the hallway, although he didn't really mind. He would do anything if it made Maggie happy. As they walked past the receptionist again, Josh could feel her eyes on him, but refused to turn around and acknowledge her, focusing only on the evil smirk Maggie had on her face. Then Maggie stopped, and turned to face Josh, causing Josh to smile, and lean down a little, since he knew what Maggie was planning. Just as Josh had suspected, she kissed his lips, allowing the kiss to linger as Josh wrapped his arms around Maggie's waist, smiling and winking as she pulled away. Josh turned to glance at the receptionist as they walked out the door, holding in his laughter as he saw the shocked look on her face. As soon as they were out the door, they both began laughing hysterically. "I really didn't mind at all. I found it hilarious. It was a little bit like playing one of those claw games, where you have to pick up the stuffed animals? But like the one's in Florida, where they have two claws, and you can get a small toy, and a larger toy. The small toy for me, was the look on her face. The big one, was getting to kiss you" Josh said, winking at Maggie as he climbed into the car, happy that he could finally tell her everything, including everything he felt for her. "I love you so much Maggie" He murmured, wanting to make sure he said it as much as he could.

-X- The two drove around for a while, until Maggie finally pulled into the parking lot of a small Italian restaurant, which Josh was perfectly fine with, so he got out and followed Maggie towards the door, grabbing her arm and yanking her towards him, as he noticed she was about to walk into a pole. "You seriously have you watch where you walk. People are going to think I'm an abusive boyfriend" Josh murmured quietly, putting his arm around her shoulder as they walked through the doors. Once they had asked for a table, they sat down on a bench beside the small podium the hostess's used to hold menu's and crayons for little kids, and smiled as Maggie sat in his lap, chuckling as Maggie played with his hair. Once the waitress came back, Josh grabbed Maggie's hand, and held it tightly as she bounced towards the table, sliding into the seat across from her, not even looking at the waitress as she asked what they wanted to drink. "Coke please" Josh said, staring at Maggie, who looked especially beautiful in the low lighting of the small restaurant. "It doesn't bother me. I'm used to it now. Plus, my hair always looks better messier, then when it's just flat against my face. If anything, you make me sexier" Josh said, giving Maggie a smirk as he tapped his fingertips against the table top, looking around at the decor of the restaurant. Then he smiled at Maggie, and reached forward, taking both of her hands gently in his. "That's good to know. I'll keep it in mind for when I really want you to leave me alone" Josh said, giving her a small childish smile, before he shook out his hair and squeezed her hands. "I'm totally kidding, but it is a good thing to know." He murmured happily, before his face turned serious, his own blue eyes staring into Maggie's. "Maggie, have I ever told you that you're the most beautiful girl in the world?" Josh asked, not a hint of sarcasm or humor in his voice as he spoke, only pure honesty and adoration.

-X- When the waitress finally came back, Josh ordered, and then listened as Maggie ordered, waiting until the waitress had walked away before looking back at Maggie, the question that had been on his mind all day on the tip of his tongue. "Hey, Maggie. You know how you said you were going to be around all the time?" Josh asked, smiling as Maggie nodded. "Well... I was just wondering. Does that mean you're going to be living with us, or just around all day? Because, no matter what you're coming on tour. I wanna do "Good To You" when we start up again." Josh said, then sighed, and finally got to the point of his question. "So um. If you wanted, we have a guest room, that we could make into yours and Shadows room. And I have my own private music room, where you could keep your guitars, and stuff. If you... Y'know... Wanted to live with us. You could paint the room, and stuff. Make it your own. But if you'd rather stay in your house, that's totally fine, I was uh... I was just wondering" Josh said, taking a deep breath when he finished, realizing that he hadn't breathed once through his entire sentence. Then he stared expectantly at Maggie, waiting impatiently and nervously for her answer, hoping that she'd say she'd live with the boys, so that Josh could be closer to her at all times.

He looked like the kind of person that would change up any story just to make a few bucks… He harassed me outside of Starbucks” Josh said, breaking a cookie from the basket on the counter in half, and taking a small bite from it. After they had eaten, and discussed the reporter, Josh stood up sadly, giving Maggie a half smile, half pout before stepping closer to her, and pulling her into his arms. ”I love you so much” He said, before kissing her lips. By the time we get home, you better have your stuff in the guest room. I’ll leave post-it note arrows pointing you towards it. I also left a key on your dresser upstairs” He said, then pulled away completely, and grabbed his bag of stuff, before walking towards the front door, gasping as he opened it. Sitting in front of the house as the awesome black car that the band had randomly received. Josh smiled, and made his way to the car, opening the door to find a note from Matt on the seat.

      Josh,
Thought you might need some form of transportation. I thought of leaving a bus pass on Maggie’s front porch, but then I decided that I actually wanted you back in one piece.

Maggie was moving around the kitchen while listening to music quietly and thinking to herself. She was excited about the future though she was feeling a tad bit sad that morning just because she had a feeling that sooner or later something would come in between her and Josh. That was how it seemed to work, everything would be perfect then something happens that messes everything up. Maggie paused in front of the eggs, her spatula in the mush the needed to be turned before she shook her head and continued on cooking. She shouldn't be thinking of what could go wrong, there wasn't a reason for her to even be thinking that but maybe she was worried. Maybe she was worried that she could lose Josh once more and never get him back. As Maggie placed the eggs onto a plate she sighed and leaned against the counter. "Like hell I'm going to let Josh slip away from me once again...If I lose him again I don't know what I'll do..." The blond jumped slightly and looked down to her arm where a drip of grease had flown onto and burned her arm slightly. "So he's awake..." Maggie mumbled before going back to cooking which she was almost done with. She had the bacon done, the eggs put to the side and the last pancake was being put on the plate when she noticed she still had pancake batter left so she took the whole four cups of it and poured every last drop onto the griddle, making one huge pancake that was bigger then her own head. I shouldn’t have picked sides like that.” Mike said sheepishly. ”It’s fine. The house is back to normal now, right? So let’s just put all that behind us.” Josh said as he continued to walk through the house. ”Yeah, it is. Matt even moved back into your room last night. Said he liked being my room mate, but he said it wasn’t the same” Mike said, something in his voice showing that he was happy to have Ian back as well. Josh smiled, joyful of the fact that Matt had moved back into his room, but now he also had to think up a way of convincing Matt to let him stay with Maggie. Sighing, Josh jumped up the stairs, stopping dead in the doorway of his room. ”What did you do?!” Josh asked Matt, who was laying on his own bed. ”Put our room back to normal” Matt murmured as he licked peanut butter off a spoon. Josh looked around the room, which looked messier then it ever had. Matt’s clothes were everywhere, empty cans of coke laying around, Matt’s bed sheets were hanging over the edge of his mattress. Josh’s bed, and side of the closet were the only things that looked neat. Josh stared at Matt in disbelief, who just shrugged. ”Matt, I have to be neater.” Josh said, finally stepping out of the doorway. ”Why?” Matt asked, his mouth full of peanut butter. ”Well, first off… It’s gross living under a pile of your clothes. And second… Maggie doesn’t like… messiness” Josh said, knowing by how clean Maggie’s house was. ”But why does it matter if our room is messy?” Matt asked as he stuck his spoon into the jar of peanut butter again. Sighing, Josh began picking up clothes, throwing dirty one’s into laundry baskets, and leaving the clean one’s on the floor, so he could hang them up after. ”Maggie’s moving into the guest room. And when we get back from tour, I’m moving into the guest room as well.” Josh finished softly, feeling bad as Matt’s eyes widened.

”You’re gonna… Room with her instead of me?” Matt asked. Josh nodded his head, and kicked the laundry basket towards the door. ”When the tour is over. That’s like… In a month” Josh said, as he started picking up Matt’s clothes, and putting them on hangers. ”So?! I like sharing clothes with you. A-and… Practicing late at night when we can’t sleep. And getting ready together!” Matt said, obviously hurt, and upset by the idea of Josh moving to a new room. Josh sighed, and sat down beside Matt, his blue eyes staring into Matt’s brown ones. ”Matt, I’ll be moving down the hall. Not across town. If it makes you feel better, I’ll even leave my clothes and hair stuff in here. Then we can still get ready together” Josh reasoned. Not that the band isn’t everything to me… it’s just… If this works out for me, which it will, because Maggie and I are perfect for each other… If this works out, then even when the band is gone, I’ll always have her.” Josh said. Matt nodded and stood up, picking up a shirt off the floor and throwing it into the basket by the door. ”yeah, I understand. Come on and help… We wanna get this place clean so that we can get going soon” Matt said, picking up more stuff from the floor. Josh smiled, and stood up, helping Matt put clothes in there proper places, and putting coke cans in the garbage. Once the boys were finally done, Josh walked to the bathroom, and took a short, hot shower. When he was done, he dried himself off, and took out the blow dryer, which was hardly ever used, but they had an interview, so he wanted to make sure he didn’t look too sexy. (Maggie had said his hair looked hotter when it was wet). Smirking at his reflection, he brushed and blow dried his hair until it was perfectly straight, and brushed it until it was the style he wanted. Then he brushed his teeth, and walked back to his room, to see Matt making his bed. ”You cleaned the entire room…” Josh noted, as he walked to the closet, which smelt like Frebreze. ”Yeah. Once all four boys were ready, Josh and Matt packed up their acoustic guitars, and put them into the back of their truck. Then Josh ran to the office, which just had two desks with computers that had internet, and a couple book shelves, and grabbed a brand new pack of sticky notes, writing a small message on one, and sticking it to the floor right in front of the door, so she would see it when she first opened it.

Then he drew little arrows on a bunch of sticky notes, and stuck them to the floor, about 30 centimeters apart, leading into the guest room. Once he got to the guest room, he closed the door, and stuck a sticky note on the door, and smiled.
Can’t wait til your room becomes our room. See you after the interview.

During the drive, Josh put in his headphones, wanting to block out the random chatter of the other boys, and sang along in his head, to the song that played. He continued to listen to his music until the van finally pulled up to a small recording studio, where the interview was being held. Josh thought it was kind of cool, that they were getting interviewed at a recording studio, although it wasn’t their own. Once the van had fully stopped, Josh put his I-pod under the seat, and got out of the car, following the other boys through the back door, happy to finally be out and doing stuff again… Even if it was just a stupid interview.

Smiling as they walked through the door, all four boys made their way through the halls of the studio, looking for studio number 11, which was the one they would be getting interviewed in. Josh knocked on the door lightly, and entered, feeling slightly overwhelmed as he looked around at all the cameras and equipment. It was such a small room, which so much stuff, it made Josh feel as if he was standing inside a closet full of winter jackets. He took a deep breath, and walked over to the interviewer with the rest of the boys, and introduced himself. ”Ah yes. Josh. I look forward to asking you some questions. Why don’t you boys all head over to the make up booth over there, so that we can get started? And Matt, please change your shirt. Stripes mess up the image that camera produces” She said, then walked off. Josh raised both his eyebrows, and then started laughing, as Matt looked down at his striped polo shirt. ”b***h” He murmured, then walked over to a wrack of clothes, looking through them to find something he liked. Meanwhile, Josh was sitting on a small uncomfortable stool as a woman put some light make up on him, to accent his best features. From what Josh could tell, she was trying to make him look like a clown. When Matt finally found something that suited his style, he put it on, and took the stool next to Josh, as another woman began working on Matt’s face. ”Is it just me, or do you feel like a 5 year old at a carnival? Tiger, or kitty cat, dear?” Matt asked, finishing in an old lady voice. Josh laughed, earning him a dirty look from the woman doing his make up. Josh looked back at her, and gave her the grouchiest face he could causing Matt to laugh. ”I give up” she said, and got up, making her way to Ian, who was waiting patiently for one of the two make up ladies to be finished. Matt continued to giggle along with Josh, who looked around to make sure no one was looking. When he was sure, he grabbed a cleaning wipe from a box on the table next to him, and quickly wiped his entire face, causing Matt to burst out laughing. Once the woman had finished with Matt, he to got a wipe, and cleaned the make up off his face. Both boys then walked over to the couch where the they were supposed to sit during the interview, and sat down, still giggling over how “clever” they were. The interviewer walked over to them as they waited for Ian and Mike to be done, so they could begin the mic checks, and Josh could tell they were getting close to the start time, of the live interview, because the host kept checking her watch, and sighing impatiently. Then she looked at the two boys, and smiled. ”My, my. You two look almost perfect. I’ll be sure to hire these make up people again, they’re fantastic” She said, then got up and walked over to the women, to congratulate them on doing such a good job. The minute she was out of hearing distance, they both started laughing hysterically, and didn’t stop until the other two came and joined them.

Matt and Josh filled Ian and Mike in on what they’d done, as they waited for everyone else to get into places. As they chatted. The host and a tech woman came over, handing Josh and Matt each a guitar. Matt just sat there staring at it, confused, and Josh stared at it in disbelief. ”This isn’t mine” He said. The host turned around, and looked at Josh, who sat there with an annoyed expression on his face. ”This one has more crowd-appeal” She said. Josh narrowed his eyes and held out the guitar to her. ”And mine has more Josh-appeal. I want my guitar.” Josh said. Matt just sat there, holding the strange guitar, his eyes shooting between Josh and the host. ”Yours was just so simple. We want something that will show the audience that your instruments are just as pretty as you are” She said, her tone suggesting that Josh was a five year old, who refused to finger paint. ”This… This is a piece of wood with strings. It has terrible sound quality. So does Matt’s” Josh said, running his fingers across the guitar Matt had been given, to show her how bad the sound was. She sighed, and turned away from the two of them, ignoring Ian and Mike as they sat there snickering. ”Fine. Tanya, get the boys their own guitars. Ours aren’t good enough” She said, then walked away, to get her make up done, once again. Matt and Josh looked at each other, satisfied smiles on each of their faces, as Mike and Ian shook their heads, already knowing that the boys planned on messing with her. ”I can already tell that this is going to be hell” Josh murmured quietly, sighing as Matt nodded, then gestured his head towards Ian and Mike, who were whispering to each other. ”Guess things are back to normal” Josh said quietly enough, that only Matt heard. Although he was happy things were better with him and Matt, he was also a little bit sad that he wasn’t going to be able to spend as much time with Ian now. After a good couple of minutes, the camera finally got set up, and focused on the four of them, and the empty chair the host was supposed to sit in. When she finally sorted herself out, she sat down beside the boys, and smiled at the camera, as the camera person counted them in, her smile just as fake as every other talk show host they’d seen. Once she introduced herself, and the show, she introduced the boys, Josh slumping against the back of the couch as if he wanted to be anywhere but there. When eh host said Josh’s name, she stared at Josh, waiting until he looked at her, yet he never did, so she just cleared her throat and continued on with… Whatever her job was. ”So, we have some questions for you boys before you play us a song. Are you ready?” She asked. All of them grunted unenthusiastically, knowing they would be most of the usual questions, such as ‘what is your inspiration?’ or ‘do you name your guitars?’. She cleared her throat again, and looked at Ian, smiling slightly. ”Okay Ian, we’ll start with you… So it’s been said that you all live together, correct?” She asked, her voice clear and loud.. ”Yeah, we share the house, and have room mates. So Josh and Matt room together, and Mike and I room together. It also depends on styles. Like, Matt and Josh have similar styles, so they share clothes… which makes it easier when it comes to sharing a closet. Same with Mike and I” Ian said, not sure if that was the entire question. She nodded, and went back into the question she originally wanted to ask. ”So, if you’re together most of the day, then you must have some silly nicknames for each other, right?” She asked. Ian looked at the ceiling for a moment, as he thought. They really didn’t have nicknames for eachother. They just called each other by their real names, or the occasional goofy name when they were trying to get on each other’s nerves. So Ian decided to make some up. ”Um. Well, I call Mike Rocky, because he looks like a squirrel to me. Y’know, like Rocky and Bullwinkle? Yeah. Um… We call Matt commando, because he’s so manly and in charge” Ian said, looking over at Josh who began laughing hysterically. Matt punched his arm lightly, and smiled over at Ian, knowing he was making all this up on the spot. ”Um… I don’t know what Josh’s nickname are. Sometimes we call him ‘Douche Ramsay’ instead of Josh, and I know Matt calls him ‘Joshy-kins’ sometimes. And… I don’t really know what they call me” Ian said. Matt looked down at his lap uncomfortably, since he actually did call Josh ‘Joshy-kins’ sometimes, and Josh just stared down at the guitar in his lap. ”We call Ian ‘Mr.Burns’ After the Simpsons character” Josh said, without even looking up.

Once the other three boys had stopped laughing at what Josh said, the hostess turned to Mike, smiling as she asked him the next question. ”So Mike. Pretty much the entire world knows about the bus fire, which caused the tour to be cancelled until further notice. What was the cause of the fire, exactly?” She asked. Mike looked over at Matt, a questioning look on his face, as if he wanted to ask if it was okay that he told. Matt shrugged, and looked at Josh, who was still staring at the guitar. ”Um… Well, at the time, Josh and Matt had been having a bumpy week. There was some problems between the two of them, that sort of split the band into two groups. Josh and Ian, Matt and myself. So, Josh and Matt had a fight, and Matt got angry, so he went into the bathroom and burned a picture of… Them, and threw it into a plastic garbage can, which he thought was metal. So, then the can melted and the flames spread. Josh was actually the one to get everyone out, including a friend of ours, who had been passed out at the time, and myself, who had passed out from all the smoke. So… Claps for Josh” Mike said, Josh only looking up as he heard his name, a small blush creeping onto his cheeks as all the people in the room clapped. Then she turned to Matt, not even smiling as she asked the question, showing that he’d pissed her off earlier. ”Matt, what’s the biggest secret you’ve kept in the past week, or month?” She asked. Matt looked at Josh, and began to giggle, then turned to the host, and smiled at her in a matter-of-fact type way. ”Well. It wouldn’t really be a secret anymore, since I’ll be telling the world. But the biggest secret I’ve kept until now, in the past twenty-four hours is… That Josh and I both wiped off all of the make up that had been put on us while no one was looking. And you couldn’t tell the difference’ Matt said, causing both and Josh to giggle more, the host just staring at them in disbelief. She shook her head, and moved on to Josh, an evil smile on her lips, as she reached for something on the floor beside her. Josh’s heart instantly dropped out of his chest, and fear caused his stomach to turn, as he wondered what on Earth she had in store for him. ”Josh… What’s your girlfriends name?” She asked. Josh stared at her in disbelief, his mouth open slightly, wondering how she knew, and why she would just come straight out with the question like that. ”Uh…” He said. A couple fans that were lucky enough to get to sit in on the interview’s faces fell, their giddy expressions turning into sad ones. Which meant that the story Maggie told that sleaze hadn’t been published yet. ”Come on Josh. You can’t deny it, we have proof. What’s her name?” She asked. Josh stared at her, confused. ”Proof?” He asked, seriously confused of how they had solid proof that he was dating Maggie. So far, the only proof that he could think of, was maybe a picture of them at a restaurant together, and that wasn’t solid proof. The host then smiled, and flipped over the piece of paper she’d been holding, and showed Josh a picture of him, and Maggie kissing in his special spot, the day after the fire. Then she turned the picture to the camera, which zoomed in, so that people watching it live at home could see the full-on lip action going on between Josh and Maggie. The fan girls all sighed sadly, and began whispering amongst themselves. Josh sighed as well, and hit himself mentally for not remembering that moment. Then he thought back to what Maggie had said, about being fine with the media knowing about them. She wanted to use the fake stories and rumors as a way to make their relationship stronger. So, although Josh was trying to re-live the moment by staring at the picture, he pulled his eyes away, and looked the host straight in the eyes. ”Maggie. Her name is Maggie” he said proudly, and confidently. The host smiled, although it was sweeter now, knowing that she had broken Josh down until he admitted. Although, she hadn’t really done much. ”And how long have you two known each other, how did you meet, and what led your both to that moment? She asked. Josh laughed as she launched questions at him, but sat up, and began answering the best he could without giving away their entire life stories. ”Um… Maggie has been my best friend since… Before I could even remember. She was always there for me, with me, and supported me through like… Everything. Um… Actually, right as the band got signed, I did a sort of bad thing, which we don’t need to get into, and it caused some problems between her and I. We just stopped talking, and I was pretty sure she hated me, so I didn’t really… Try talking to her again. But then, one night during a concert, I saw her in the audience, and after that night I decided I didn’t want her our of my sight ever again. So… She came on tour with us, and she was there when the bus caught fire, and everything… And I guess, after the fire I realized how much she really meant to me, and I didn’t want to ever get that close to losing her again, so I decided to risk it, and become closer to her then I was before, and… Luckily she felt the same way, and now we’re together. Tadaah” Josh said, taking a deep breath. The host nodded, and stared at Josh’s face for a long time, before turning back to Ian to ask more questions, leaving Josh to take a deep breath, hoping he hadn’t told more then what Maggie was willing to let the public know.

When the interview was finally over, the boys had played their song, and the fans had gotten pictures taken, the four of them loaded their stuff back into the van, Matt changed his shirt and they were off. In the car, no one really spoke, as they thought about all the weird questions they’d been asked. ”Those weren’t the usual interview questions. Those caught me off guard” Matt said suddenly, finally commenting on the tension in the van. ”I’ll say” Josh mumbled, not taking his eyes away from the window. ”Yeah, those were really personal questions they asked you. I guess now you and Maggie are outs, whether you like it or not” Ian said, looking at Josh from the rearview mirror. Josh nodded, and sighed, rubbing his eyes as he tried to figure out how to bring it up to Maggie. After that, no one else spoke. They all just looked out their respective windows, Ian keeping his eyes on the road. When they finally arrived at the house, then all stepped out, Mike and Ian taking the boys guitars, while Josh unlocked the door, Matt standing beside him, clapping a random beat. When Josh had finally managed to get the door unlocked, they all stepped in silently, the three others gasping before Josh finally looked from his shoes, to see what they were looking at. Josh felt his own mouth open a little but no sound came out as he stared at Maggie in the arms of some guy he didn’t know, tears filling his eyes as the guy looked up, and smirked. Maggie said something to the guy, but Josh couldn’t hear it. All he heard was an odd ringing in his ears, and some strange feeling in his entire body, that he didn’t understand. He had never felt it before, yet there it was, pulsing through him so fast that he didn’t even know how to handle it. Josh watched as the guy left, hatred in his eyes as he watched the boys retreating body, then turned to look at Maggie, who was now in front of him. She was saying something to him, yet he couldn’t hear her. All he saw was her blurred face, and the same ringing sound, before she began to pull him somewhere. She closed the door, to what Josh assumed was the guestroom, and pulled him into a hug. Although Josh wanted to wrap his arms around her, and tell her everything was alright, he couldn’t. His body was so still, that if it wasn’t for his breathing, people would probably think he was dead. Then he realized it… He realized that the odd, burning feeling that was flowing through his body was a little bit like anger, although it was worse then anger. Far worse, because it hurt Josh most, while the boy Maggie called Jeremy didn’t feel a thing. It was jealousy. Josh was so filled with anger, and jealousy towards this boy he didn’t even know, that he couldn’t even look at Maggie. Josh reached behind him, and wrapped his hands around Maggie’s pulling her arms away from his body. Then he turned and walked from the room, not even stop to see how Maggie reacted. There was only one way to get rid of the feeling, which was actually to talk to Maggie about it. But at that moment, Josh didn’t even know what he was doing. He didn’t feel like himself. He felt out-of control, and hurt. He walked past Mike, Ian and Matt, who all stepped out to stop him, but moved back as they saw the look on his face. Josh opened the front door, allowing it to bang against the wall, before he walked down the steps, and caught up to Jeremy. Josh put his hand on Jeremy’s shoulder wondering how on Earth he was able to move, and react with such swiftness, when all he could see was a blur. The guy was saying something to him, yet the ringing still took over most of Josh’s hearing senses, so that he couldn’t even hear the words coming out of his own mouth when he spoke. ”Do not. Ever. Step foot. In my house. Ever. Again. Do not even come near my house. Ever again. And do not. Ever touch. my Maggie. Ever. Again” He said, his voice almost a whisper, but it was loud enough that the anger, and jealousy showed through. Then Josh lifted his arm, and punched him right in the middle of his face. The minute his fist made contact with Jeremy’s face, everything flashed before him, and Josh could suddenly see, hear, and was very aware of what happened. He gasped as he saw blood shooting from Jeremy’s nose, but was so overwhelmed by everything that had just happened, that he just collapsed, landing face down in the grass on the small lawn outside the band’s house.

          ...And I swear now...

          ...Everything is perfect.

The ground was moved from beneath Josh, and that scared him. Weightlessness was definitely not a feeling he enjoyed. Put me down. Put me down. Please stop pulling me away, I’m too young to die. I’m too in love to die He pleaded in his mind, hoping that whatever had removed him from his spot would put him down. His back hurt. Why did his back hurt. And why was he hearing voices. He didn’t like this feelings. He didn’t like this at all. Between the noises from around him, the noises in his head, and the random spasms of pain, Josh had no idea what was happening, other then himself going crazy. The voices continued, but he suddenly felt that one less person was around him. Or maybe it was one other voice in his head. But it couldn’t be a voice, since it hadn’t been speaking. Josh scrunched up his face in confusion, and wished he knew what was going on, and where he was. All he saw was blackness, which informed him that his eyes were closed. Or he was in a totally black room. No, no. That didn’t make sense. Nothing was making sense. Suddenly, he felt less crowded, although he could still hear the talking about him. He clenched his eyes closed harder, and smiled slightly as a cool breeze brushed against his face. Then something poked his side, causing him to flinch, and throw his arm out, hitting whatever it was, in the face, as he would learn later. Slowly, he began to become more and more in tune to what was going on around him, and opened his eyes to a blurry room.

Josh raised his arms, and rubbed his eyes, blinking a few time before everything became clear. We was in his and Matt’s room, laying on his bed. Mike and Ian were across the room, on Matt’s bed. Matt stood over Josh, a goofy expression on his face. ”hey buddy!” He said enthusiastically. Josh groaned and sat up. ”You’re stupid. Go away” He said, causing Matt to pout. ”Meanie. Anyway, did you know that you can throw one bad a** punch? It was amazing! Pro wrestlers should be ashamed” Matt said. Josh groaned again, remember what he had done. Mike and Ian nodded, and Ian smiled. ”I wouldn’t worry about it Josh.” Ian said. Matt nodded in agreement, and smiled impishly. ”Yeah, I mean… he obviously has no balls, since he couldn’t even face you. Now he has no nose. Works out fine” Matt said. Josh glared at him, and took a deep breath. ”Okay, whatever. Where’s Maggie?” He asked, noticing she wasn’t there. She must have been the person that left while he was still out cold. He also noticed Matt’s cheek was red. ”Dunno. She slipped out while we were busy making sure you didn’t die.” Matt said, shrugging. ”You just let her leave? Without knowing where she was going even?” Josh asked. His voice getting a little louder. Matt stood back a little, his eyes wide. ”She just left. We didn’t notice” Matt said. Josh sighed, and looked down at his feet. ”She took her car though. But nothing else, so unless she plans on becoming a hobo, with only one set of clothes, she should be coming back” Mike said, then he stood up and walked to the door. ”I’m gonna go watch T.v.” He said, then slipped out the door, and made his way down the stairs, flopping down and flipping the television on. Then Ian stood up as well. And walked to the door. ”I’m going to go get everything prepared for when I start making dinner later. Then I’m going to watch T.v. with Mike. Josh, do you want something to eat?” Ian asked. Josh thought for a second, then smiled, nodding vigorously. ”yes please, if it’s not too much trouble” He said. Ian smiled and stepped farther out of the door. ”Not a problem. Is there anything in particular you want?” He asked. Josh shook his head, and smiled again. "Surprise me" he said. Then Matt began to chuckle and turned around to Ian. "Give him a peanut butter and pickle sandwich!" Matt said. Josh scrunched up his face in disgust, as did Ian, who looked back at Josh. "How does peanut butter and pickles sound?" He asked in a joking tone. "Delicious" Josh said sarcastically, causing Ian to laugh. "Okay... So then no peanut butter and pickles. But you want me to surprise you. Okeydokey, I will do my best to please, good sir!" Ian said, then left as well, closing the door behind him. Then Matt smiled, and sat down on the edge of the bed. ”That was so awesome” Matt said. Josh looked at him, confused. Then he realized what Matt meant… The punch. Josh rolled his eyes, and sat cross legged, preparing for the lecture he was about to give Matt.

Josh cleared his throat, and looked at Matt, a serious expression on his face. ”Matt… What I did was wrong. I got taken over by anger, and jealousy, and it was wrong. I hated that feeling… Of not being able to control my body, and my actions. I just did… I had no way of telling myself to stop.” Josh said, running his fingers through his hair. Matt rolled his eyes, and stretched. ”Come one Josh. Obviously that little butt-nugget deserved it.” Matt said, his voice quivering, since he was trying not to laugh. ”That still doesn’t mean I should have done it.” Josh argued, sighing. Matt looked into Josh's eyes, and realized just how much it was affecting him. "Josh, I don't think Maggie is upset about what you did. I think she's more upset about the fact that you saw her like that. Whether it was her fault or not" Matt said softly. Josh looked down at his leg, then back at Matt. "I don't think she did anything." Josh said. Matt cocked his head, and looked at him with confusion written all over his face. "But didn't she tell you that she didn't do anything?" Matt asked. Josh nodded and bit his fingernail. "Yeah, she did. But just because she said it, doesn't mean its true" Josh said. Matt nodded, and pulled Josh's hand away from his face. "Not a habit you want to start... Anyway, but you just said you didn't think she did anything. Josh, you're confusing me" Matt whined. Josh sighed, and started biting his fingernail again. "Yes Matt. That's what I said. I was just explaining. Just because someone says they didn't do something, doesn't mean they didn't actually do it. It often means they don't want to get in trouble, or in a fight. Right?" Josh said, rubbing his eyes, growing tired from all the explaining. "Yes. I know people do that." Matt said. Josh shrugged, and looked right at Matt's face. "Yeah? Then do you get it now? I don't think Maggie did anything. I believe her" Josh said. Matt nodded, then looked at Josh with a questioning look. "Why?" Matt said, his tone questioning. "Why what?" Josh asked. "Why do you believe her. The only thing you have of proof, is her word. I think what we saw is better evidence then what she says" Matt explained. Josh laid back against his pillow and stared at the ceiling as he thought, trying to think of the best way to explain. "Love and friendship are built off trust. I love her. Which means that I trust her. " Josh said simply. Matt nodded, then smiled. "Makes sense. You really do deserve her Josh... And I'm a terrible friend for ever trying to take her away from you" Matt said. Josh looked right into Matt's eyes, his own eyes wide. "Matt! That doesn't even matter anymore. You aren't a bad friend. You made a mistake. We all do." Josh said. Matt looked up and smiled, then stood up. "Thanks Josh. I'm gonna go play video games. When you've eaten, and chilled a bit, wanna play Super Smash Bros with me?" Matt asked. Josh smiled back, then laughed. "Only if you play as Zelda" Josh said, causing Matt to laugh. "Deal." He said, then left the room, closing the door behind him.

Josh continued to lay against his pillows, just thinking about Maggie, his friends, the tour, and the interview... Man, that interview was weird. it started out normal, then the minute she got to Josh, it got weird. Almost as if the hostess wanted to watch Josh squirm. Sighing, Josh ran his fingers through his hair, wishing Maggie were there beside him. He also wished he knew where Maggie was. Why wouldn't she have even told them where she was going? Did she not know that Josh would probably want to know when he woke up. Just then, Ian knocked on the door, and opened it, stepping in. Josh smiled when he saw a bowl in his hand, and reached out for it, resting in on his stomach as he began eating mouthfuls of macaroni and cheese. "Thanks" He said gratefully, causing Ian to smile. "No problem." Ian said, sitting down beside him. "Mike and Matt are watching that gossip show that I hate, mind if I hang out up here?" Ian asked. Josh shrugged as he chewed, and put the bowl down on his bedside table. "Nah, I don't mind. What do you wanna do?" Josh asked, pulling his covers over his legs before he grabbed his bowl again. Ian shrugged, then crossed his arms and sat on Matts bed, crossing his legs beneath him. "How're things with you and Maggie, other then what happened today? You guys didn't come home yesterday, so we figured you were out and about, having fun while we had Matt's attempt at dinner" Ian said. Josh laughed. and continued to eat, not realizing how hungry he was. "What'd he make?" he asked, still laughing. "I have no idea. I think they were grilled cheese sandwiches, but they were black, and didn't really taste like anything" Ian said, laughing as well. Then Josh continued to eat, and put the bowl down once he was finished. "Things are going pretty well. She seems happier now. We went to visit her doctor yesterday... Then we went out for dinner." He said. Ian smiled and stretched out on Matt's bed. "First real date? Was it fun?" Ian asked. Josh shrugged and ran his fingers through his hair. "it didn't really feel like a date. It was more like... Just me and Maggie hanging out like we used to, only this time it meant more" He said, then he smiled. "I always have fun when I'm with Maggie" Josh said, once again wishing she were there with him. Then they heard a car door close, so Ian stood up, and walked to the window, looking out to see the top of Maggie's blonde head walking up the steps to the house. "She'll probably wanna talk to you. I'll go downstairs, so that she knows you're alone" Ian said, then got up and walked out, closing the door behind himself again.

Josh got up and looked out the window just as Maggie's head disappeared into the house. Sighing, he got back into his bed, and pulled the covers up to his shoulders, laying on his stomach, with his face towards the wall. He ran his conversation with Matt through his head over and over again. The more he thought about it, the more he realized he really did trust Maggie. After everything that had happened, and everything that she had told him, there was no way she would do something like that to him, and he was confident of that. He loved Maggie, and he always would, no matter what. And he hoped she would love him no matter what as well. Smiling, Josh closed his eyes, taking deep breaths, just waiting until he heard his door open. After what seemed like hours, it finally did, although the sound was quiet enough that Josh wasn't sure if it'd actually opened, or if he was just hearing someone walking around downstairs. He opened his eyes, and just stared at the wall, feeling someone in the room with him. Then, when he was finally sure it was Maggie, he rolled over, so that he was facing her, who was now laying down in front of him. "yeah, I'm up. Just fainted, really wasn't a big deal" He murmured quietly, staring at her hands instead of her eyes, since she seemed to be trying not to make eye contact. Josh smiled when she intertwined their fingers, and squeezed her hand lightly. However, his smile faded as she began to speak, and he felt guilty all over again. "Maggie, I'm not mad. Not at you, or him. I got jealous, which is weird for me, since I never do. Maggie, I don't want you to stop seeing your friends because of me... I believe you when you say you didn't do anything, and I know he was just trying to press his luck... I shouldn't have punched him, and I'm sorry" Josh murmured quietly. Then he smiled back, and sighed when Maggie got up, but smiled again as he saw that she was holding her guitar, which meant she was going to sing for him. Josh nodded as she said that it was going to be a bit rough, and closed his eyes as he listened, allowing her voice to ring through his eyes, just as the sound of the crowd did every time they performed. As he listened, he let every word linger in his mind, placing them together as she finished lines. When she stopped, he opened his eyes, and then waited until she began the next song. Once she did, he did the same thing, listened to the lyrics and figuring out how they could relate to her, and her life.

When she had finished, Josh opened his eyes and smiled at her. "I love it when you sing for me" he murmured quietly, then frowned as she spoke. "I wont Maggie. I promise. I love you too much" He said, then shifted down so that his eyes were aligned with hers, then leaned forward and kissed her for a long time. When he finally pulled away, he smiled again, and sat up. "So... We're okay then?" He asked, giving her a cute, innocent smile, hoping she wasn't mad about the punching thing. he ran his fingers through his hair, and remembered the promise he'd made to Matt. He bit his lip and looked at Maggie, then at the door, then back at Maggie, another smile on his face. He pulled her close to him, and held her against his chest. Then he kissed the top of her head, and let go of her. "Wanna come watch me own Matt at video games?" he asked in a voice that made him sound like some stupid 13 year old kid that thought he was amazing at all video games. Taking her small hand in his, he pulled her gently from the bed, and out of the room. Then walked slowly down the stairs so that he didn't accidentally trip her. Once they were down the stairs, he pulled her into the living room, and plopped down on the couch beside Matt, making sure that Maggie was still close to him as Matt handed him a controller and started up the same. "Ready to get beat, princess?" Josh asked Matt in a threatening tone. Matt narrowed his eyes and picked Zelda as his character, and looked back at Josh. "In your dreams, Mario" Matt said, then pressed start, and the two began to mash buttons, trying to beat the other.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, the car stopped and Maggie peeked her head up to the edge of the window before yelling at Ian who was about to get out. ”Listen closely, ever heard the saying ‘don’t feed the animals’? Well this qualifies here for all of you. Josh, you can’t set my brother off into over-protective mood otherwise I might never be seen again. Matt, Mike, and Ian, you guys can not give into my friend Cam or she might seriously kidnap you, especially you Matt. Sighing loudly she looked out to the door and groaned then got out of the car with her boys following close behind. Before they even got to the grass the door was open and Cam was there along with Nathan who was glaring...not a good sign. Thankfully things calmed down and they all got into the house before Cam pulled Maggie up the stairs and into Maggie’s old room. ”Seriously?! You have to be PMSing now!” Maggie gasped and covered the girl’s mouth before shaking her head. ”How do you know?” Cam rolled her eyes and glared down at her best friend. ”You’re talking to the girl who can read any facial expression.” The blond sighed and glared back at her friend before shaking her head. ”What am I supposed to do! I’m like a screwing machine at this time.” Cam raised an eyebrow and shrugged before letting out a squeak. ”Just screw him, what’s the worst that can happen.” Maggie let out a gasp and looked at her friend in shock before answering. ”No, I will not. At least not until...” The girl scrunched up her nose and turned away before sighing. ”You were planning on a certain day...” Maggie nodded and looked to the door before back at Cam. ”I was thinking the last day of tour...” Maggie said cautiously before looking at Cam with worried eyes. ”Alright, that’s fine but how are you going to control your urges?” Maggie shrugged and leaned against the wall behind her before letting out a long sigh. ”I’m hoping that he remembers.” Cam nodded and opened the door again before leaving with Maggie following behind who stopped after a few steps. The urges were already started their way into her system just by the fact that she needed to be next to Josh right away. Walking down the stairs slowly she made her way to Josh and wrapped her skinny arms around his waist before peering around him at everyone with a smile. Nathan caught her eye instantly and she gave him a small smile before looking up at Josh and back to Nathan with victorious eyes. Nate gave out a laugh at his sister before nodding lightly and looking at the cute couple. ”Alright, lets have dinner!” Nathan said loudly before pointing to a table with everything already set out and ready to be eaten.
