Bella stood and pulled a pair of socks from her pocket; she had come perpared. Slipping them on, she left the warehouse and headed back to May. She first went to Alaira's room to find Elsie. She was sitting there on the edge of the bed, talking like usual. Alaira just sat there like she always did when Elsie started talking, listening. Bella didn't understand how Alaira was able to just sit there and listen to her. Even Bella, Elsie's own sister, got annoyed with her non-stop talk. As she stepped into the room, she drew in a sharp breath as she saw Alaira.
Alaira looked over at her and gave her a wary smile. "Stop looking like I'm on my death bed. I'm fine. Now come here, you look troubled." Alaira had changed over the last few years, she was no longer such the tempermental person she used to be. Bella walked over to the bed and sat down in the chair beside it. She knew that she couldn't tell Alaira, but she felt she should. Shaking her head, she stood to leave, but decided to stay a bit and sat back down.
At that time, a nurse entered the room. "Sorry to interrupt ladies, but I think Alaira should get some rest. I've brought something that should help you sleep," she said the last part to Alaria. Alaira nodded. "I'll see you two tomorrow, alright?" "Okay. See you," Elsie said as she leaned foreward and gave Alaira the best of a hug that she could to avoid hurting her. She then got up and left Bella behind. "I think I'll just stay for a bit longer okay?" Bella said quietly as she looked at her hands in her lap. The nurse said nothing, but injected the sleep-aid into Alaira's IV. Alaira laid back on her pillows and looked over at Bella. "Are you sure that you're okay?" She asked her as she felt the growing erge to sleep. "Just get some rest," Bella said as she watched Alaria fighting not to fall asleep. Alaira didn't have a chance to argue.
