xxxxxSitting quietly, leaned back in a desk chair with her feet up on said desk, Sno read intently. A small hum came from her lap, emitting as a purr from the vivd white cat that lay curled up where her legs and torso made the V shape. Adjusting her glasses for comfort, the girl kept reading without a break, determined to finish the chapter before her roomate and best friend Kiko came back. So this situation seemed ordinary, a girl in college, best friend for a roomate, pet cat on her lap as she reads...but everything has a secret. First, this girl may be in college, but she was already in the second year of her graduate studies for becoming a doctor, all by the young age of 22. The glasses she was wearing did nothing for her sight, but were instead geared to analyze the perspectives and angles of any situation and relay the information to her to sort out. The small white cat on her lap had a small teardrop on her forehead and had the ability to speak to Sno, something the common cat obviously couldn't do. No, this wasn't ordinary as it seemed.

xxxxxAs she read the last few sentences of the chapter, Sno slowly shut the book, setting it down on the desk gently before moving slowly as to not wake the cat. Of course, this didn't work as her feline friend, named Snowflake, immediately woke at the slight movements and sounds, looking up to meet eyes with Sno. Sno smiled wide and pet the cat gently, immediately becoming happier with the purr becoming louder from the cat. Snowflake had been the reason that Sno remembered her past, the first four years of her life she had thought had gone missing due to Amnesia. She was a daughter of Mercury, born to the Mercury Senshi Amy Mizuno and sent to earth in an attempt to protect her abilities of knowledge and her ability to wield the elemental frost rapier known as Blizare. While her mother had been predominately a water based senshi, Sno had taken the element and changed it into its different form of ice and became known as Sailor Frost.

xxxxxAs for how she came to being where she was, Sno graduated High school at the early age of 15, and began college the year after. At age 18, she was asked to sub at the local high school, and gladly complied. As she entered the classroom, it was the first time she locked eyes with Kiko, and a nagging urge she had had all her life, telling her to find someone, clicked. And to add to the odd day she had been having, Snowflake entered into her life as she walked home, introducing her to the life she once had and the life she was to live. Sno from then on kept close contact with Kiko and eventually ended up rooming with her, in process finding that she had similar abilities but being a Fire senshi instead. She wielded a fire katana, the powerful Pyrotiem, and also had a black cat familiar known as Solar. Often, both girls would take on any missions of enemies threatening them or their town together, determined to not let whatever force that was after them, the reason they were set to earth, get the best of them.

xxx"Finally..." the red-head said with an exasperated sigh. She had been staring at the clock from her work station for the last hour, hoping it would somehow magically skip time so her shift could be over. This, of course, never happened. But it didn't matter anymore, she was finally free. Kiko Hino had a meager part time job at a bookstore, a job her best friend liked to proclaim was 'Heaven on Earth.' But Kiko wasn't a big book type. She was one of those that would rather see the movie than read the book. Most of the time her job was about as entertaining as watching paint dry. It was quiet and plain and calm, a complete opposite to what her life outside of work tended to be.

xxxKiko was a senshi; by all standards a pretty powerful one. She was still young and learning every day but had enough experience to handle the forces that work against her. She was the sole carrier of the Pyrotiem, one of the four legendary elemental blades. No one but Kiko was able to weild it, and for this she was constantly hunted. Once her powers were awakened at 18, there have been numerous attempts on her life to try and siege the sword. After meeting another sword wielder, Sno Mizuno, Kiko became even stronger and more confident in her abilities, and decided the two should stick together to help protect each other.

xxxIt had been pretty quiet as of late. Her guardian, a black cat with a flame emblem on his forehead, hadn't heard of any new plans of evil trying to seek power and hadn't felt evil's presence around for a few months now. As much as Kiko was enjoying the peace and quiet, she was actually getting bored. Having a 'real job' seemed so trivial compared to saving the world. But bills had to be paid. The apartment her and Sno shared wasn't going to pay for itself. She gave a sigh, stuffing her hands in her pockets and she made her way back home. Solar, as always, was at her heels, following close behind. If they weren't in public he would have probably asked what's wrong, but seeing as how most of society would be freaked out by a talking cat he was holding his tongue. After a brisk walk she was at their building and took the elevator up to their floor. She fumbled for her keys in her pocket, finding the house key just as she reached the door. "I'm home." she announced as she walked in, locking the door back behind her.

xxxxxAs she kept petting Snowflake, Sno heard the keys outside the door, and with a clinking sound the door unlocked and in came Kiko, Solar at her heels. It was Sunday so Sno had the day off, but Kiko wasn't as lucky. Her library position had her in on weekends constantly, while Sno's job as a hostess at a local restaurant only had her in on weekdays between classes. Snowflake jumped off of her lap and bounded over to Kiko, rubbing around her legs before plodding over to Solar licking the side of his face, finishing with what would be considered a feline smirk.

xxxxxStanding up and brushing off the layer of cat hair that had accumulated on her lap, she walked over and hugged Kiko, pulling away with a smile on her face. "How was work? Didn't drag on for too long, did it?" she asked sarcastically, before turning and walking towards the kitchen. Pulling down a couple cans of cat food and emptying them into the cat bowls on the floor, she grinned as the cats frolicked over and dug in. "Hungry?" Sno asked Kiko, turning to dig through the fridge. It was full of left overs her manager let her take home, so meals and appetizers and desserts sat in small packages, waiting to be reheated.

xxxMost would think Sno and Kiko a very unlikely pair. Sno was booksmart, tactical and rash where as Kiko was loud and hard headed. But they practically completed each other. They both got on each other's nerves on occasion but they seemed to have a general understanding of one another. She leaned over and gently scratched Snowflake's chin before straightening up to hug Sno. "Of course it drug on. It's work." she replied with a bitter sense of humor. They had talked before about Kiko's distaste for normal jobs to which Sno replied, 'Money doesn't grow on trees.' She was right, as always, but that didn't mean Kiko had to like her job.

xxxSolar nudged Snowflake in return, rubbing the side of his face against hers for a moment before ambling over to eat. Kiko decided she too was hungry and gave Sno a nod, "Yea, I could eat." There was never a shortage of food in the apartment thanks to Sno's job. Taking off her jacket, Kiko plopped herself down on the couch with a content sigh, "It's nice to be home."

Walking up the stairs in the apartment building, his female companion known as Alba Tarasov walking closely behind him, caused no excitement to stir within' Kesiom. Then again, that rarely happened in the first place, plus Alba was excited enough for the both of them. She had never been out of the Dark Crescent's Dimension, and being on Earth pretending to be a human was overloading her frail mind into an a stage of lunacy. Both of them had left without any warning, determined to find and kill he girl his mother wanted so eagerly to have power over. He would show his mother he was good enough, that she didn't need this girl from Mars. Of course Alba, being the cling on she was, pleaded to go with Kesiom. At first he thought against it, but with her unwavering loyalty, whether it be because of her crazy crush on him or just being a ditz, he couldn't pass up a comrade to back him up. Being a ditz or not, Alba knew how to fight.

As humans, both decided to become a brother-sister pair, taking the last name Tarasov. In their dimension, you only had one name, so remembering their last name wasn't easy, but part of the mission none the less. Most often it was Kesiom reminding Alba, but it in all honesty didn't bug him too much. Finally, as they reached the 3rd floor, he pulled out the small key the landlord had given to them and opened the door, revealing a decked out pad, fully furnished with all the bells and whistles. Kesiom had made some arrangements before hand, not without the help of some dark magic of course. Humans were over-all feeble minded and easy to manipulate. Locking the door behind them, Kesiom walked towards a room, wanting to meditate for a while to hopefully pull a plan into motion. Alba followed closely behind him before being cut off by Kesiom's hand jutting out. "You're bedroom is right there, don't bother me," he said in his normal icy voice before heading into the farther bedroom and shutting the door. Alba just huffed, then was quickly distracted by the large black thing in the living room. Grabbing the control item in front of it, she pressed buttons until the item came to life, and with a gasp, Alba began messing around.

Sitting down on the bed, Kesiom crossed his legs and closed his eyes, thinking over what would have to happen. He needed to find some way to find the girls. Yes, they were older than him in human years, and he was only old enough to attend the local high school. Alba would be a Junior and he would be a Senior, so school wasn't an option. With distaste, he figured getting a job would be the best bet, something humans did to earn money. Opening his eyes, he walked over and sat at the computer desk in his room and pushed it on, waiting as it hummed to life.

xxxxWhether it was coincidence or fate working it's cruel ways, Keiko Hino's apartment just so happened to be in the exact same building as Kesiom. Keiko didn't know this, of course, but she probably would soon enough. For the time being, in her ignorance she headed out of her apartment, a basket of laundry under one arm. She headed down the stairs and across a hall to the laundry room the apartments had on property. She was living alone for the now and trying to save money. She couldn't really afford a washer and dryer of her own. Which was perfectly alright with her, walking downstairs to do laundry wasn't that big of a deal.

xxxShe dumped the load she had brought into one of the open washing machines, putting in soap then the fee before starting it up, all the while humming gently to herself. Keiko was usually always in a good mood, something that annoyed Kiko all the time. This day was no different. She was off of work and knew her sister would be home from work soon as well. She would stop by to see her and Sno once she was finished here.

As the computer stirred to life, Kesiom put in his password and quickly opened the internet. Currently, there were only a few jobs around town, but Kesiom knew he would be able to get anything that he wanted. He wasn't sure where he would find this girl, but he figured somewhere more localized would be a good start. All he knew was her name, and a rendering of what she may look like. Looking through the positions, one caught his eye. It was a volunteer position, but in all honesty money wasn't something he nor Alba needed to worry about. It was a position for an animal shelter. While Kesiom felt no empathy towards humans, he did give some towards animals. He himself had the ability to summon a raven familiar, affectionately called Shadow.

Sticking what would be his identification into his pocket, he walked from his room and towards the front door. "Keep yourself entertained, I'm going out," he mumbled briefly to Alba, who was too occupied by the TV to even notice that Kesiom was talking. Unlocking the door and walking out, he shut it behind him and jumped down the stairs, two at a time. Reaching the bottom, he saw the faint outline of a girl walking into the laundry room, and for some reason, felt an odd inkling to follow her. Coming closer to the room, he heard a quiet humming, and without noticing it, was watching the girl from the doorway of the room. He knew there was something he should notice, something his eye should be catching, but then again, something about her was just fun to watch.

xxxxx Pulling out a couple of containers of Spaghetti, Sno plopped them into microwave, and setting it for a few minutes, closed the door and pressed start. Sitting on the couch next to Kiko, she turned to talk to her. "It's been quiet for a few months now...do you think its just luck or what?" she asked, a hint of caution in her voice. The girls hasn't been attacked for a while, and even though Sno practiced daily, she was always afraid she would be caught unaware or unprepared, something she wouldn't want to live with.

xxxxxAs the microwave let out the noise saying it was done, Sno stood up and grab a couple of place holders, pulling them from the microwave and setting them on the table in front of the couch. Walking back to grab a couple of forks from the drawer, she handed one to Kiko before digging in herself. She didn't want to let this bring her mood down, but she felt she was only waiting for the next attack, like it could come at any minute.

xxxx While Keiko was not the trained warrior her sister was, she was a good fighter and had good battle skills. Among those was her ability of perception. She could tell when someone was in a room simply by the pressure changes when they walked in. As she finished up at the washer she knew someone else had come into the room but it wasn't until she turned around did she realize he was watching her.

xxxMost people would think this creepy and avoid the person, but Keiko was not most people. Instead she smiled and waved at him, tucking her now empty laundry basket under her shoulder. "Hello." her voice was bubbly and friendly as it always was, "Do you need to use the washer? I think there's a free one over by the corner."

xxxSno had this peculiar ability to voice what Kiko was thinking. She was still thinking about how quiet things have been lately when Sno sat beside her and brought it up. Kiko gently chewed on her bottom lip, something she tended to do when thinking, before responding. "I was thinking about that on the way home. I'm not sure. I mean, I'm happy that we have some peace but I don't want to let my guard down." The last thing she wanted was for them to believe everything was honky dorey and get lazy when in reality they could have been training for whatever might happen.

xxxSolar, who had finished his food by now, came bounding over to the both of them, hopping up to sit between the two senshi. "You always think the worst is going to happen, Kiko. Try and relax." Solar was the voice of reason for Kiko when Sno couldn't get through to her. He always managed to put a good spin on things. But he did little to settle Kiko's anxiousness this time.

you're DEATH is my LIFE ⊰ ⊰ - -

As soon as the girl turned to talk to Kesiom, the light bulb finally went off in his head. The rendering he had seen back in the Dark Dimension, and with a quick comparison to her face, he realized this had to be the girl he was after. The very one that was causing him to be ignored, the power his mother wanted so damn badly. An evil smile creeped across Kesiom's face as he slowly walked towards the girl, a dark energy swirling in his palm. "Oh, I don't need to clean any laundry," he said sinisterly. Pulling his hand upwards, he caressed the side of her face, dark ropes flying from the dark mass and wrapping tightly around Keiko. "I just need a little favor from you, that's all" he said before they both vanished.

Alba felt the spike of dark energy, breaking her attention away from the TV to reach out for what Kesiom was doing. She assumed it was him doing so considering she hadn't felt the presence of any other evil in the town when they arrived. It was really all too peaceful, so she was excited that Kesiom was doing something.

As Kesiom put the girl down on the stone floor, he quickly turned and created an dark mask over his face. He hoped the girl hadn't got a clear look at her, but none the less it would prevent anyone else who decided to interfere from seeing him. As the magic finished, he turned back around, facing the girl, kneeling down to meet eyes with her. "So, mighty daughter of Mars, what's this special sword that is so wanted across the darkness? What do people crave from you Kiko?" he asked coldly.

xxxxx Sno could feel the worry resonate off of Kiko, and put her fork down for a moment to lay her hand on the other girl's shoulder. "I'm sorry for bringing it up. I know we're both worried, but at the same time, we haven't slacked in our training and I know we'll be ready for anything that tries to make a move," she said calmly. Snowflake plodded over to the couch and jumped up next to Solar, rubbing her face gently on Kiko's hand. "She's right you know, you two have been doing immensely well in your training, especially you Kiko. You've worked very hard to master an extremely tough and raw elemental power," Sno nodded to show she agreed, then finished the last of her spaghetti. Sno always seemed to know what Kiko was thinking in times like this, mostly because it was the same thoughts running through her own mind.

xxxxx As the two finished their plates, Sno gathered them both up, walking over and giving them a quick rinse in the sink before placing them in the dishwasher. Opening the fridge once more, she spotted one what she thought were gone beers, and looked back to Kiko. "Want a drink?" she asked, the beer dangling between her fingers. Kiko was always able to down drink after drink it seemed, and it looked like it never affected her. Sno, on the other hand, was a light weight, and she had almost found that out the hard way. On her 21st birthday, they had been celebrating out on the town, do a small round of bar hopping, when they had been attacked. Kiko, even though a little tipsy, was able to transform and put coherent attacks together, but Sno had been unable to do anything. She learned the hard way that night that alcohol almost completely suppressed her abilities, and in result she was much more wary when it came to drinking.

xxxxAlmost instantly Keiko's stomach did a flop as she saw the ruthless smirk creep on to this strangers face. She had seen looks like that before from evil, from those that wished to do harm. And then dark energy began to swirl around him. Before she could reach for her compact to transform or smack his hand away, Keiko felt the binds wrap tightly around her frame. She felt a pull in her chest as the earth swirled beneath her, and then she was landing, hard, on a cold stone floor. Fighter reflexes had her sitting up almost instantly despite the sudden soreness in her bones.

xxxShe watched this man's back, glaring daggers as if it would physically hurt him. She was about to demand to know the meaning of all this when he called her Kiko. For a split second she had horrified shock on her face but it was gone as quick as it came. He was after her sister. He was after her sword. Keiko decided she wouldn't correct him; if she told him she wasn't Kiko he would no doubt dispose of her and search out her sister. "It's pointless to try and steal it, you can't wield it. And it's power dies if I do."

xxxKiko let her fingers gently trail under Snowflake's chin, unable to suppress the soft sigh that escaped her lips. "We've both been working our asses off, I know." It seemed like she wanted to say more on the subject but Kiko was never one to get touchy feely and express her inner thoughts and emotions. Sno could tell she had a lot on her mind, she didn't need to go into detail. She finished her meal in silence, pondering what this break in missions meant. At the offer of a drink, Kiko was silent for a moment as she decided whether or not she should be indulging or not...but eventually she gave in. "I could have a drink, sure."

xxxSolar climbed onto the arm of the couch and made himself comfortable. He was getting ready to take a little cat nap when a random thought occurred. "Wasn't Keiko going to stop by?" The girl was over here as often as possible and knew Sno and Kiko's schedules as if she lived there herself. "Yea, actually. I guess we should save her some beer." She said sarcastically, fishing in her pants pocket for her phone. Her sister was second on speed dial, and within seconds she was calling her. But there was no answer. "That's weird. She didn't pick up." Keiko was as reliable as old faithful. Her not picking up the phone at this time of day when Kiko knew she wasn't working...it didn't seem right. She glanced up at Sno, her brows furrowed. Did they speak too soon?
