he night was still young in the eyes of the singer. Only half passed Midnight meant more of a crowd for this sensation. Ah, to be standing in the lime light felt nice. It seemed as though her career as a singer shot through the roof when she was hired as entertainment for the Hell Fire Club. She was grateful for what she had, and what she was getting. Life hadn't been as easy as it had been recently, and she knew she didn't have anyone to thank but Emma. Emma was the one who spotted her on at that small hole in the wall place and took her in. The woman was gorgeous, smart, and dangerous. Everything Lorelei admired in a real woman. Someone who wouldn't allow herself to be stepped on. She was strong and loyal. Especially to Shaw.
Lorelei didn't have much of an opinion on the man at the time. She only met him a couple times, and though his thoughts on the mutant race were a bit extravagant for reality, in a sense he meant well. Humans were the kind to fear what they didn't understand. If they knew that the reason why they really flocked to hear her sing was because it was part of her mutation, they probably would shoot her for being a incubus or something. Everything had to be religious now because she was a call girl. Of course. She was a seductress. Mhm, a demoness. Of course, that was the only explanation, not that she was an evolved version of their species; Nah, that was never the case.

Humans; definitely yesterday's news. It was really only a matter of time before there were more mutants than humans, and these mutants became aware of their abilities. They would soon be the minority and then the world would change. For good or ill, Lorelei didn't know, nor could she tell you. Just because they were mutants didn't mean they had different thinking processes than humans. Mutants were only the evolved species. They, including herself, were still only human. And thus subject to error. Errors that Lorelei saw almost everyday; Greed, lust, pride; all of these things came with her job. Surrounding yourself with the wealthiest people around made her realize who was actually who they say they are. Most people were never as kind and generous as they said. It was always for something. What can they get out of the press, or what can they get out of the people for showing a bit of 'generosity'?
"Always something to gain," She told herself before she entered the small runway towards the stage in the center of the room.

She could hear the crowd just roar to life at the sight of her. Lorelei just smiled, waved her hand lightly, blew a kiss or two to the crowd, and then straightened herself up. Stage life was nice. She hadn't felt this accepted in a rather long time.
As the piano began to play, Lorelei allowed her body to get into the mood of the song. The lyrics poured from her mouth like silk, and she could feel the difference between her 'normal' talking, and the way it felt when ever she used her abilities. It was a calling sort of thing. She could feel the pull against the listeners and moved her body along the back side of the piano. If she could of giggled in that moment, she probably would have. All eyes were on her, and everything was going great. The world revolved around this woman, and Lorelei honestly loved every second of it. However, she would admit that she didn't want to be that famous. She liked her privacy, and if she had paparazzi at her door all the time, she'd never get any. That would be the down fall for most stars. However, her position in the world she was in now was comfortable. Just noticeable to get jobs at nice places, get the money she needed without having to take off her clothes, and get back home to relax where people didn't know her name while she walked on the street.

Of course 'normal' folk wouldn't recognize her. She was a singing sensation in the wealthy world. She was also kept on the down low from the media thanks to her side jobs. Everything seemed to be falling into place, finally.
Once the song had finished, Lorelei made sure to give the crowd a couple more until it was closer to closing time. From there, she said her good nights and went back stage to her dressing room to change. She was stopped on the way down to her room by one of the waiters who was working the last shift.
"You sang beautifully out there tonight, Lorelei. As always," A fan. How cute. Lorelei smiled as she removed the long gloves from her arms.
"Oh, why thank you sweet heart," She smiled, leaning up and giving the gentlemen a kiss on the cheek before she continued her way back down the hall. "If you'll excuse me, hun, I'd like to get out of this dress," Ah, yes. The infamous dressing up. Lorelei did like to make herself all glam, but she wasn't one to want to stay in it forever. In fact, her slacks and turtleneck were sounding far more comfortable than the white thing she had on at the moment.

Lorelei entered her dressing room, leaving the door unlocked and open and crack so someone would know she was still back there and wouldn't lock her in. Standing in the line of the full length mirror, Lorelei looked herself over a moment. With a soft smile on her lips, Lorelei began taking off the jewelry she was given for the show that night and placed them back in the small velvet box in which they came. She wasn't one to like owning such expensive jewelry, so she made sure that where ever she was going to perform had something for her to wear for the night. Once she finished taking off the jewelry, she sat herself down on the small chair and removed the heels she had worn all night. A sigh escaped her lips, as if she were holding her breathe this entire time, and rubbed her feet.
"I'm going to get nerve damage if I wear heels more than I do," She couldn't help but smile lightly. That would be interesting. Her mother had that issue because she wore heels to work everyday, and walked around so much in them. She couldn't feel much in her pinky toes now. "I do want to continue feeling in you guys," she wiggled her toes a bit and giggled again. Ah, early morning moments where you were alone and could be as girlie and idiotic as you wanted to be.

If Lorelei had known she was going to be getting an unexpected visitor, she would of kept her clothes on, but she was completely unaware. So were the staff, as she unzipped her dress and stepped out of it. Stretching a moment, Lorelei reached up and began hanging up the dress. She would come back in the morning to fold it up and take it back to America with her. She had a plane to catch tomorrow night. Back to the Hell Fire Club, and back to her usual audience. She was positive they would all be happy to see her back from her trip.
Standing in only her skivvies, Lorelei hung up the dress and went to grab her clothes for the ride back to the hotel for the night, though she probably should of grabbed them sooner.

he silver medallion turned over the mans knobby fingers, barely touching them. His gray eyes followed it slowly, his mind racing. The back of the cab was nowhere near as accommodating as a car but he could live with that. Anything to finish his job. He had to do this. Over the years people had told him to drop it, to let it go. They wanted him to accept what happened and forgive the man. His apologies. There was no way he would ever forgive the man who made him the reason his mother died. Every day he looked at the coin he remembered. The desk with papers spread out on it, the coin sitting near him, a strong contrast against the dark table. Shaw wanted him to move it. Oh how he had tried. Especially when his mother was brought in. The woman was all he had. There was nothing left on this planet for him but her. Well, she had been the only thing for him. His family. She was gone now. All because little Erik Lensherr couldn’t move a coin. One tiny coin. It barely had any weight to it. Small and round, the edges rough from years of circulation, dingy from the oil of the hands of men and women and a signal of guilt to him. If he could have moved it….

Now was a totally different story. Little Erik had grown up. He was a man now. He was a man with one thing on his mind. Shaw. That b*****d wasn’t going to live. Erik had it all planned out. He’d been searching for the man’s associates for a long time now. He had foun many, all they did was lead him to another man or woman. It didn’t matter much to him. They all died. Shaw hadn’t notice yet. At least it didn’t seem like he had. Erik figured if the man knew what the boy was doing then he wouldn’t be hidden. He’d be trying to get rid of the man. Just like Erik was going after him. He’d send that coin straight through his head. Slowly. He wanted to make it last. He wanted to hear the man beg for mercy. Erik wanted the moment to say no, to deny the man what he denied Erik all those years ago. He wanted to make him suffer. Erik wanted to watch him feel the pain he had his entire life. He was so grateful he was gone from that camp. Out of the hands of the nazi’s. He had developed a rather large dislike for them. Hell, he’d even go as far to say he hated them.

The jewish man had never seen hatred before the Nazi’s. He’d seen anger but never true hatred. He had been appalled by it. It was ironic, the way things turned out. Now he was that. He hated Shaw. He despised him. Thinking about him made him feel the anger boiling in the pit of his stomach. It made his body hurt. It made him want to destroy things. He had the power now. He was powerful. No one could defeat him. Not even if they wanted to. He had no fear. The cab stopped in front of the club and the cab driver started talking about paying. “Fine,” he stated, digging in his pocket for cash. He dropped it into the man’s hand and climbed out of the car. Erik could have gotten out without paying. Really, if he had needed the money or something of the sort. Sometimes it was best to just blend in for a bit. Especially since he was looking for someone.

Lorelei Dresner. She was apparently a call girl. Erik wasn’t sure exactly how she had connections with Shaw but she did know him. She had also been seen with the white haired woman. At least from what he heard. Needless to say it was a good place for him to go. He’d travelled the world looking for the man. He had to be getting close. He had to! It was like a feeling in his stomach. He would find Shaw. Something else was telling him that Lorelei would be his best lead yet. It was a silly notion, going on gut reasoning. It was something he hadn’t done since he was a young boy. Thinking with his stomach made him have emotions involved in his powers. He never added other emotions in. Anger. That was all he had. That was who he was. That was the fuel to his power. Part of him wondered what would happen when he killed Shaw.

He concluded, before he walked into the building, that there would always be something to fuel his anger. Always. There was no peace in his life. There never would be. He was a man built for war. Shaw had declared war against him, now it was his turn to attack. He knew who’d be coming out alive. Either that or they’d both die. Erik slipped his hands into the pocket of his coat as he made his way up the steps. The coin was grasped tightly in his right hand, his thumb moving over the face on it. Erik removed one hand and pushed the door open. The smell of alcohol and smoke hit his nose and he gave a quiet sigh. This was going to be terribly enjoyable. He nearly danced at the idea of it.

the man smoothed his hair back and made his way into the main part of the building. The acts were mostly over for the night, leaving the girls who weren’t as respected as those like Lorelei to the mercy of the men. Erik shook his head and made his way toward the dressing rooms. It required a bit of sneaking but he was good at that. He’d done much more dangerous things than this. Besides, she had information he needed. A couple security guards couldn’t stop him. He could tell them to run and they would. If not, well, if not they were in his way and disposed of. He wondered briefly if his mother would be proud of him. The thought didn’t last long. He finally found the door with her name on it. Focusing on the handle he slowly turned it, using his powers to keep the audible click from happening. His hand stayed several inches above the handle, watching as it turned. It pushed open slightly and he slid in, shutting the door behind him.

The man turned to look at the woman who was currently getting dressed. Didn’t he have the best timing in the world? Not. He was going to have to deal with a very unhappy woman now.“Lovely under clothes,” he said, plopping down in a seat in the room. She was lovely. He could see why people wanted to see her so much. They all muttered Lorelei, Lorelei, Lorelei. It was like she was a goddess amoung men. Perhaps it was true. She was a mutant though. He figured she wasn’t really as lovely as everyone thought. Only her powers made her seem like that. The man stretched out in the chair and settled into it. “I have some questions for you, Lorelei. It’d be best to answer them correctly,” he stated crossing his legs in the chair. He leaned forward and stared at the woman. The long white hair, the blue eyes. Oh how the Nazi’s would have loved her. They would have treated her like a princess. Oh. No. not a princess. Perhaps like he had said before. A goddess amoung men. He wasn’t sure what he thought of her. He’d just have to wait and see. It wasn’t like his curiosity was going to kill him.

      “Where is Sebastian Shaw?”

orelei's dressing had been completely interrupted. At first she heard nothing, not even realizing that someone had entered the room. But the unfamiliar voice caught her attention. Gasping lightly, Lorelei turned to see the intruder. He was very unfamiliar to her; tall, handsome, but his eyes spoke differently about his intentions. For a moment she wondered if he was there to ask for something of the indecent sort, but it would seem she was very wrong.
Being completely unembarrassed about being seen in her white lace, Lorelei turned around completely, crossing her arms lightly. Slightly demanding, wasn't he? And he was the one invading her dressing room.

"Thank you, but aren't you rather bold for a man walking into my dressing room uninvited," Lorelei spoke only the truth. She was not exactly angry, more of curious as to his intentions. Questions? She needed to answer him questions? Why? For what reason? About what? "And if I do not?" It was always a good idea to know what she was getting herself into. Though she wasn't afraid. Her vocals could easily hold him off long enough for her to get herself out of the dressing room and down the hall. That was plenty of time, and from there she could disappear into the night like the woman she knew she was. Women were apparently good at those kinds of things. 'Meant for higher things than being a call girl, certainly,' she thought to herself.

Lorelei, unfazed by the man, continued to dress herself. She highly doubted he hadn't see a woman's body before. And to her, it was like being in the company of a paying customer; she was used to it. It was her body. Her god given body, and she was extremely aware of how she looked. She was pretty. She would never say beautiful, but certainly good looking.
Slipping on the sea-foam colored dress, Lorelei pulled down her tights and dropped them into a bag of her belongings to take back to the hotel with her. Once she was out of that, she pulled up her skirt over her panties and smoothed out her dress. She was definitely a woman who did not feel threatened, though she had a feeling he would mean to be in a moment. The comment on her undergarments had been a bit of a surprise, considering the vibe he was carrying.
Lorelei sat herself down on her chair at her vanity and crossed her legs as she put her shoes on. Looking at him, Lorelei continued to stare into his eyes.
"You have very expressive eyes," She said bluntly. "There's a storm waging within. Makes me curious as to wonder why, and how am I apart of it," Lorelei leaned back against the vanity.

If anything went horribly wrong, all Lorelei needed to do was tap into her vocal abilities and keep him sitting in that chair until she dashed down the hall. So, if she felt at all threatened, you bet she was going to use her abilities to save herself. But for now she couldn't help the curiosity. It did kill the cat, after all, so what exactly was the reason behind it, hm? Made it all more interesting. "Though I do not remember ever seeing your face, I do hope I haven't done anything to insult you," Lorelei may have been proud of herself as a woman, and a mutant, but she certainly was no high and mighty woman on her stool. She was a caring person if people took the time to get to know her. But the only thing people wanted out of her now a days was her voice, and sex. How unfortunate. They were really missing out.

"But yes, questions, you had some for me. Go on. I'm listening. However, I cannot say if I will have the information you're seeking, I shall certainly try to help in any way I can. If not, I am very sorry," She spoke politely. You'd think with how much she got a night doing these kinds of gigs, and the clothes she got to wear, or the way people treated her in the underbelly of society she'd be far more self centered, but thankfully Lorelei was not like a lot of people. Too much pain, and too good of an upbringing from her mother were the causes for that. 'Thank you, Mama,' Lorelei thought a moment, a small smile tugging at her lips.

rik listened to her to tell him he was a bold man. Perhaps. He had business though. Coming in uninvited made the most sense to him. If he was to alert someone of his presence other than her, well, if she didn’t answer his questions it’d be troublesome for him. Especially seeing as he would have been known to be the last person in the room. That never went well. Then her next question. If she did not answer his questions. Oh, there was a simple answer as to what would happen if she didn’t answer his questions. A very, very simple one. “Then things will be taken care of,” he stated, leaning back in the chair. His eyes darted over to the door when she turned to get dressed. He couldn’t have her running. It didn’t seem like she could read his mind. No. She would know why he was here and his intentions if she didn’t answer his questions. He could see what would happen if she didn’t answer his questions. She wouldn’t make it to the door. Even if she did it’d be locked. She’d try to open it. By that point he’d have had the time to get up and send the bullet that currently set in his pocket through her head. Then he’d unlock the door and leave. People would never connect him to it. They would never know he was there.

It would be a mystery. Who killed the great Lorelei? A bullet with no sound and no bullet left to be found. It would be, in a way, the perfect crime. He left no prints and no sound. It was part of the reason why he hadn’t been found yet. That and threats to the others who saw. They knew he’d come find them. They wouldn’t see their children grow old or in some cases even have children. Maybe one day he’d have remorse for it. More than likely not. He couldn’t see himself feeling that way. It probably made him a murderer. He wasn’t sure what he thought of that. He didn’t think he was. Yes. He had killed people. They were terrible people though. Monsters in their own way. Men who had let the beast get ahold of them and pull them apart. It left them raw. It left only that beast. He had no problem taking them from this world. She was pulling her skirt on now. His eyes had been trailing the expanse of the room. They darted back over to the door. He concentrated on the lock inside the door. The tumbler’s fell into place and the lock slid into the hole, locking the door. He turned his eyes back to her while her back was turned.

She soon sat down to put her shoes on. Her next words took him by bit of a surprise. Not much of one, not enough of one to register an expression on his face. A storm? Perhaps. There was a storm was in his brain. He wasn’t sure if it went through to his eyes though. Maybe to a person different than him it did. Or perhaps she was particularly perceptive. “Curiosity kills,” he stated, crossing his legs. Erik listened to her continue to talk. It wasn’t that she had done something to offend him herself. It was by association actually. Shaw. The beast. The man from his nightmares. Hitler may have been the one who ruined his life to start with but Sebastian Shaw had been the one who had taken the hope away. The light, everything. He had waited a long time to see his mother. He hadn’t wanted to be that time that he saw her the last time he ever would.

Now they were getting somewhere. She could answer his questions. Out of all the names he had this woman was closest to Shaw and his close, close associates than anyone. Erik waited for her to finish before pressing the tips of his fingers together. “One question actually,” he started, letting his other leg drop to the floor. Erik sat up straight and set his elbows down on his knees. “It’s actually one you’ll be able to answer, with all your connections,” he said, forcing a grin onto his face and giving a chuckle. It faded after a minute and he turned back to look at her. “It’s about a man named Sebastian Shaw,” he explained, smoothing the side of his hair back.

“I want to know where he is. You see, he and I have some….unfinished business. It’s actually really important I take care of It.” There. It was said. His mother’s face flashed into his mind. The face she gave him before she died. How frightened she had been. How frail she had looked. He forced the thoughts away, focusing only on the blue eyes of the girl in front of him. If his mother had those eyes, that hair…She’d still be here. She wouldn’t be in a mass grave somewhere. He would have never known Sebastian Shaw. For that life….Well, he’d give up his powers to have that life. He’d give up power to be happy. It was strange. The way others wanted power to be happy. He had only ever wanted the opposite.

orelei listened closely to what he had to say. Ah, things will be taken care of hm? That certainly meant one thing; she was going to be taken care of if she didn't answer his questions. How unfortunate. So, what kind of information was this man looking for, and why? How could she possibly hold any information that would be that important to him?
Lorelei finished getting dress, seating herself down and she continued talking. She couldn't help but giggle at his mention of curiosity. "Ah, yes, that is true, but then that makes it all the more interesting; why is it deadly?" Lorelei continued to smile. She was never one to stick herself in dangerous positions typically, but this was extremely enthralling for her. She had never had this kind of thing happen before. She did have many connections to men higher up, but that didn't mean too much. She only had their number. And if that was their direct line, she wasn't even sure. Typically her clients contacted her. And if you didn't have her number, you typically didn't contact her. Only those within the loop could get this girls personal number.

Lorelei watched him re-positioned himself as he began speaking once again. Still in a rather direct manner, the man explained to her it was only one question, and then mentioned Shaw. Lorelei blinked, obviously a but surprise that he'd ask about Sebastian. Where he was? Unfinished business? And in this kind of position, Lorelei knew that that business would not be very friendly. Most definitely not. Why? What had Shaw done? Did it, at least in her mind, mean that she should tell him - or show him - where Shaw was? That could be the end of Shaw. Though she highly doubted it. Not with Emma, Azazel, or Riptide around. And Azazel was someone Lorelei couldn't really face against. If he'd hold still for five seconds maybe, but typically she wouldn't be able to be much help. And Emma, being a telepath and the like, was certainly hard to betray. She'd know. And that wouldn't be very good for her, would it?
Lorelei sighed. Oh, decisions, decisions. Well, she guessed the first thing to do was to figure out what this unfinished business was, and why he wanted to see Shaw so much.
"Sebby?" Ah, yes, Lorelei had cute little nick-names for most men she was in contact with. "What on earth could you possibly want with him? Sure, we do not have the same ideals on the whole mutant subject, and I personally think he drinks too much, but other than that I don't know why you'd want him so badly," Her eyes traveled to the door knob. "At least not enough to threaten me, lock me in a room with you, and possibly have the means to kill me," She wasn't sure on that last part, but she assumed he'd have the ability to back up what he said before. He didn't seem like someone who'd bluff.

Leaning forward, Lorelei felt the difference between her usual talk, and when she used her powers clock in her vocal cord area. "So, tell me, why do you want Shaw? What are your reasons? And who are you, exactly?" It was hard to explain the feeling. It was almost if her throat vibrated more than usual when she was using her powers. Like her voice sent out its own kind of sound wave to make people do as she thought. It didn't necessarily have to be what she said that controlled them. It was mostly what she was thinking. It was a difficult task sometimes, to think about what she wanted to actually be done, while she said something else. Especially when she sang. Oh that was definitely a trifle at times.
And it would seem that even this man before her was subject to her abilities. She hadn't found one person who could deny anything she thought of when she used that power. She didn't use it to get what she wanted, she just used it mostly to keep her audience. She needed the money. It wasn't a want, it was a need. Though in this case, they could technically go hand in hand.

It was his turn to speak now. Lorelei wondered if he could have a different thought process while he spoke. First, he partially introduced himself as Erik Lensherr, and that he was a holocaust survivor, whom had a run in with Shaw when he was a 'doctor' for the Nazi's. Lorelei's calm expression softened with each word her spoke, leaving her mouth slightly agape and her eyes in a state of almost expressing horror and sadness. Shaw had murdered his mother. Shaw had used, abused, and tortured the man as just an innocent child in order to awake his abilities more. Lorelei was extremely distraught about the whole thing. How personal it all was, he wasn't going to be happy about telling her once he was finished, and Lorelei felt horrible that she had even forced him to answer. Shaw...could do such a thing? Why? She didn't understand. There were better ways to getting to someone's powers. Lorelei found it easier on herself when she was calm and focused when she used her abilities. However, sometimes it was difficult to focus. Like right now. Lorelei found it amazingly difficult to focus on using her abilities as Erik finished up his story. It was a short version, but it was still one of the most horrific things she had heard from someone who had actually experienced it.

"Oh dear Lord, I am so sorry," Lorelei's confidence quickly was shot. She was both worried about her well being now, and not at the same time. She was only worried at his reaction to her powers. "I had no idea he'd ever...." she couldn't even say it in words. Lorelei may of had a rough life, but certainly nothing compared to that. "I'm terribly sorry I forced that out of you, I swear I won't tell anyone," She forced her abilities through and made him unlock the door. Yup, this was certainly a moment that said 'I need to get the ******** out right now', which was exactly what Lorelei planned on doing.
Standing up, Lorelei grabbed her bag. "Calm down first then meet me outside," she left the address and number of her hotel room on a sheet of paper on her vanity. "And that's where I'm staying right now. You can ask the man at the desk when you get there for my name. He'll tell you it's right, just, I'll give you a moment to relax," She continued speaking, trying to make sure she kept him still before she exited the room. "I'll be just outside. There, I'll be able to help you better," and with that, Lorelei quickly left the room and hustled down the hallway and out the back door.

She sighed deeply and rubbed her temples a bit. "You've certainly gotten yourself into a rather sticky situation, haven't you, Lorelei? This is why you should never use your powers on people, you could end up finding one like him and just piss him off," Lorelei wandered over to the curb and sat herself down with her bag to wait. "How extremely unfortunate for him, though, how could Sebastian do that? I thought him a better man than that, but it seems I was highly mistaken," Lorelei shook her head again. "It is very difficult to say exactly where he is, but if I get him to come back to America with me tomorrow, perhaps I could be more of assistance. It would be terribly hard to explain other wise," Lorelei was mostly thinking of the boat she had been on once or twice before. Azazel had brought her there, so it would be extremely difficult for her to explain to Erik where he was, if he was even there. It all depended on that as well. He could be at the Hell Fire club when she arrives back in town for all she knew. And anywhere else the man could possibly hide. "No wonder he drinks so much."

is eye twitched when she said a pet name for the man. Sebby. It did tell him he had the right woman. He should give himself a pat on the back for that. He wouldn’t though. What on Earth did he have for him? Oh he had so many things. He could pick reasons up off the top of his head. Honestly it was probably too easy. Much too easy for any man to find a reason. It took seconds to think of just one. She mentioned him threatening to kill her. Well, at least she wasn’t an idiot. He would kill her. Then she spoke differently. The change was subtle. Maybe it didn’t change at all. It made him watch her lips move though. It made him lean forward a bit and his eyebrows crunch up ever so slightly, a slight crease forming between them. “Erik Lensherr.” It was an outer body experience. He hadn’t commanded himself to say that. That…that. Wasn’t good. Especially since what she had commanded from him was not something he wanted to share. It wasn’t. It made him try to fight whatever she was doing to him. Instead of the first words he uttered after that being in structured sentences they came out in a stutters. Something he wasn’t used to experiencing at all.

“M-my mother was Jewish just as I was. Escaped to Poland. Germans took my mother. Spilt us up. Bent a metal fence,” he started to explain. The only thoughts he could manage were a stream of swear words. This wasn’t her business. It wasn’t. This was his and Shaw’s business. Only his and Shaw’s business. “I saw her days later. He went by Schmidt then. Laid a coin on his desk and held her at gun point. I couldn’t move it. He had the solider pull the trigger. I did move that damn coin. And those mens helmets.” He remembered how the skulls had been crushed in, the metal in the next room swirling. His mother’s body lying on the ground and Shaw looking so pleased. He’d been so happy that he had these powers. “They tortured me to get my powers to manifest after that. Made me scream. Made me mad. I was eleven.” He stopped talking then. If she didn’t get why now, then he didn’t want to discuss things with her any longer. If she didn’t get it he’d take care of her the way he took care of everyone else. His feelings didn’t fade into sadness. No. They faded into anger. She had given him no control over his telling her. His hands filled into fists.

Then she was blathering on about apologies. She had no idea he’d ever do that. What did she think he was? Where did she think he got his obsession with mutants being the higher power from? He had looked for mutants. He wanted mutants to possess. To learn about. He was a monster. He was a monster who created monsters. Erik was only one of the man’s off springs. The others he didn’t know much about. He didn’t know if they were living. He never spoke much to them. Always too tired, too hungry. Then he was free. There was no looking back from there. None. Only forward. Oh. So now she was sorry she forced it out to him. Now she was. Now that she heard his sob story. The door opened less gently than he had meant for it. Actually he hadn’t meant for him to use the power at all to unlock it. He’d prefer to seriously injure her. Anger. He could feel it in his stomach again. IT was like one of those feelings that he couldn’t’ shake. His eyes darted over to the door and caught the sight of it hanging loosely on its hinges. She wanted out though. He understood that. He did. He was sure if he wanted to be in a room with him it wouldn’t be when he was in this mood. Which was more often than not now. He tried to ignore that though. He did. Well, only when he was trying to sleep. It made it more difficult some days. The man took deep breaths, letting the air out in slow streams. Don’t slam the door in her face. Don’t do it.

The moment she was in the hallway, walking toward the back door, the dressing room mirror made a new friend. The door, now lifeless on leaning against the vanity, shards of mirror laying around it, had been carried by the door knob across the room in a seconds time. Pity. It didn’t even make him feel better. He was fairly sure that vanity was an expensive one. He cradled his head in his hands, fingers digging into his scalp. He listened as the metal on the vanity crumpled, leaving it in a heap on the ground. The people who found it would probably worry for Lorelei’s well being, expecting her murdered. He had no problem with that assumption. None. The man pulled himself to his feet, straightening his shoulders and holding his neck straight. No slouching for him. No. There was the paper containing her hotel. That was on her vanity. It took a minute or two to find the paper. He made his way over to it and pulled the paper out of it.

His eyes scanned over the address and the torn corner, the rest of it still trapped under the crumbled vanity. Erik folded the paper up and slipped it into his pocket before turning to leave the room. It would be best to go with the woman. Better to take her help. Use her information, however much that would be. Considering her pet name for the man left a bitter taste in his mouth he didn’t want to think how close she could be to him. It was best if he was to have to place form of trust in her. It was something he rarely did now. He couldn’t remember having a friend. Not since the camps. No. Not since Auschwitz. How that had been such a miserable time. There had been no form of life there. Only soulless creatures. Prisoners and guards a like. It had been black, the seasons never changed it seemed. There had been no feeling of spring, no feeling of summer or fall. It was a perpetual winter in his mind. Always monochromatic. There had been no good feeling there. His mind had blocked everything out there. That was probably why it just came up with nothing.

erik pushed the back door open and made the several steps down to the sidewalk. His hands slid down into the pockets of his jacket, his fingers wrapping around the coin. It was odd how it was comforting. Eighteen years he had it. It was the only thing he had left from that eighteen year period. “He’s always drank,” he stated, catching her last statement. The man looked down at her for a moment before looking around the street. The lights were bright on the street, the windows dimmed. “I’ll take whatever you have to offer,” Erik told her, the tips of his shoes resting just off of the curb. He was still trying to grasp letting his travels rest in the hands of this woman. It wasn’t a great thought to him. At the moment he could see no better choice though. He blamed it on the broken mirror.

orelei looked up as Erik left through the back door and walked over to her. A light smile pulled at her lips. Well, he certainly wasn't trying to kill her. That was good. She had gotten out of that one, but it she still felt utterly horrible about the whole situation. She just had to know. She had to know the reasoning's behind it. Shaw was...was considered a friend. Not any longer. Lorelei wasn't one to associate herself with someone like that if she knew better. She hadn't known what he had done. She knew he was a bit eccentric for her taste, but nothing more. That would explain the meetings she wasn't allowed to go to. Not yet. And she probably never would now. That seemed almost bothersome.
Lorelei's brow furrowed a bit and she leaned forward on her knees and stared at the curb, her mind racing on something else to register the image before her. "Then I wonder what he's doing, exactly," She thought aloud before shaking her head. She would have no idea until she heard it. And unfortunately she wasn't a mind reader. "I think life would of been easier if I could read minds instead," she giggled a bit at the idea before she stood up, brushing her skirt down.

Looking back to Erik, Lorelei turned to face him completely and she held out her hand. "Well, since you introduced yourself, I shall do the same. I am Lorelei Adele Dresner. In all honesty I don't remember my actual last name. The Dresner's were a wealthy family in Germany whom picked me up off the streets after my parents died in a care accident a year previously." Lorelei began explaining everything. He would be the first to know the whole truth, but she would probably feel a tad better if she spilled her guts as he had done against his will thanks to her. "The Dresner's were nice, though nothing like my original parents. Love was expressed through gifts, not words of affirmation, or physical tough," She felt almost odd explaining that little bit. Yes, Lorelei was a rather touchy-feely person. She enjoyed those two love languages the most. Gifts were at the bottom of her interests. She'd be grateful to them if she got any, but she would prefer kind words, or a hug. Things like that were meaningful to her. "I fell in love young, and he betrayed me, so I killed him," She spoke bluntly, more or less just trying to get the information from her mouth. She hadn't told anyone about Edmund and how it was her fault. After the incident she ran away after all. "I made him walk into on coming traffic. He didn't make it. So I ran away from Germany and became, slowly, what I am now," The road wasn't very nice. Lorelei could remember the first time she allowed someone she didn't know into her bed for money. It was the scariest thing in her young life.

In fact, just thinking about it made her smile fade. "And I don't particularly enjoy being a call girl, but in this society, money is how you'll survive," Well, that felt a tad better. Now that she felt her mood dwindle immensely. She had said everything she felt she needed to say. Things that were extremely personal to her. Now, if she really wanted to feel like she needed to walk into on coming traffic, she would of just spoken the words she thought just then; 'I have never been touched by a man for any other reason but sexual pleasure,' Yup, That thought wasn't exactly a nice one, and Lorelei frowned a bit. How pathetic she seemed against him. It was an odd feeling. But at least she was able to say she had told him everything, just as he had. They were even in a sense.
"But enough of my pathetic fairy tale," Lorelei forced herself to smile. It was a start to bringing back her happier side. "The hotel isn't far. And you can stay with me for the night. I have a flight tomorrow back to America, you're welcome to join me, considering that's where Shaw is," Lorelei waved a taxi down and slid into the back of the cab, making room for Erik too. It was a tad off to be with a guy when there wasn't anything possibly going on in its usual context.

The cab driver turned to see her and smiled. "Ah, Lie-lie, how has your trip been?" He asked. He had driven her around most of the trip. It was funny how she always ended up picking his cab.
Lorelei smiled brightly. "Daniel! Oh, it's been wonderful, thank you. I'll be going home tomorrow though, but thank you so much for driving me around. I really appreciate it,"
"Don't mention it, it is my job after all," He chuckled a bit, turned himself back around and started down the street to the hotel.
They arrived at the hotel promptly and Lorelei paid the man before she exited the cab and heading up the steps and into the hotel lobby. It was certainly a five star hotel, and Lorelei would have nothing less on trips like this. Heading over to the front desk, she practically had all four employees there rush to her aid.
"Ah, good evening, Ms. Dresner. How was your day?" One asked.
"Splended, thank you. Could one of you do me a huge favor?" She batted her eye lashes and smiled all pretty at the gentlemen.
"O-of course! What is it you need?"
"I need someone to call up Jon right away and make sure I have another ticket by tomorrow morning. I have a guest coming back home with me. An old friend," Lorelei lied a little. Anything to get Jon to do what she needed him to.
"Why of course, Ms. Dresner," the man at the counter looked up a moment at Erik before for at his files for her. He had Jon's number in her information. "Do you need anything else?"
"Can I have an extra couple of pillows and a blanket sent up to the room? He'll be staying with me the night," she explained with a smile.

The man nodded, while another disappeared into the backroom to get her extra things she presumed. Everyone was eager to help her.
"Wonderful, thank you so much, darling," Lorelei then turned and headed to the elevator. From there Lorelei showed Erik to the hotel room. Well, more like a suite. "If I had known I was going to have company who didn't want me in bed, I'd of made sure I had an extra room, but alas, the only thing left at the moment is the couch. It's a pull out couch, and is rather comfortable. I slept on it last night when I had a little too much to drink." she explained, smiling.
Moments later there was a knock at the door and Lorelei opened it to find the extra pillows and blanket. She took them inside, shutting the door with her foot and wandered over to the couch in the living room. She placed them down there. "You'll have a wonderful view of the city from here," She explained, walking over and opening the curtains to find the far wall to be nothing more than a giant window. And it was a beautiful sight. Lorelei smiled as she stared off over all the lights. "Makes me wish I hadn't left my sketch book at the club," Yup. Lorelei left her sketch book at the Hell Fire Club before she left. She was sketch Azazel at the time.
"Well, do sleep well, Erik," Lorelei turned and walked towards her room. She stopped in the door way and smiled at him. "Dobranoc."(1) and with that, Lorelei entered her room and began getting ready for bed.

      ****

By the early morning of the next day, they were finally back in America. However, the red eye flight had made Lorelei extremely tired. Having not slept most of that night previously. Her mind wouldn't stop wandering. She had two stops in mind for the rest of the day; stopping for coffee, and then home to go to sleep. If the first stopped her from sleeping, she'd probably see what she can't get for Shaw's current location. She also would be able to talk about it more in the privacy of her own home, and that meant explaining Emma, Azazel, and Riptide. With them around it would be difficult to get to Shaw. Lorelei didn't know how he was going to accomplish his task of getting to him and killing him, but she'd try her best to help.

Erik had followed the woman to the hotel after her explanation of who she was. The man had stood in the middle of the living area in the suite. His eyes followed her back as she went to pull the curtains open. She mentioned her sketch book momentarily before turning to leave. He gave a nod to her as she went. His hands stayed in his pockets until the door to her room shut. Surviving. If this was surviving to him then he’d be amazed. The only money he ever managed was stolen at best. Rarely from a living man. This suite was expansive. He didn’t have that. Usually he had a single bedroom in some rundown hotel. It was easier to lay low. Then he didn’t have the money to pay for something like this. Nothing with this view. Nothing with this warmth. Erik shrugged the jacket off of his shoulders and laid it down on a chair near the window. The coin was still held in his hand, turning over his knuckles as he looked out over the city. His other hand slipped into his jeans pocket and his eyes shut for a moment.

Her parents had been killed in a car crash. She had been young enough to where she couldn’t remember her real last name. Pathetic. He understood the pain of losing parents. His father had been gone from his life very early on. And, his mother…that story was all too clear. But, how could one forget their last name? Perhaps he was older than her. Had a reason to hold onto things like that. In his mind he’d always remember the way people had said Little Erik Lensherr. Then they’d ask if he liked games. He had learned early on that no. He didn’t like games. He and his mom liked to play games. He’d go hide and she’d come find him. But not these games. It was a see how long you could last game. The last man standing game. Briefly he wondered if she’d even heard of the “games” they played with the children. The ones she had so luckily missed out on thanks to her perfect appearance. Her ability to be rehabilitated. The lack of knowledge of her power. Of course, it being dormant at the time helped considerably. He was sure of that. Her power would have been so loved by Shaw. It probably was.

Shaw/Schmidt would have exploited her heart break. He would have forced her to use her power. There would have been no choice. Erik rasied his hand slightly, letting it settle above hip level. The coin floated inches above his palm, turning in circles. It continued to speed up until it seemed like an orb. No real limits to its shapes only fading into the atoms around it. It dropped into his open hand after a moment and he heaved a slight sigh. The coin was dropped back inot his pocket as he made his way back to the front door of the room. He flipped the lights off one by one, working his way back to where he had been. When he was left in the darkness, leaving nothing but the midnight light of the city. Erik Lensherr took himself to the chair with his jacket and sat down on it, Kicking his feet up on the ottoman near it.

The city took on a new light now. The he felt hidden now, with the lights off. The thought was comforting enough to lull him off to sleep after a while of staring at the city. His dreams were riddled with memories he had long sense consciously forgotten.

There was something about flights that he loathed. He could keep the large metal hunk up in the air long enough to land somewhere safely. Perhaps. He wasn’t sure. He’d damn well try and die with regret if he couldn’t. Or perhaps it was the way it had taken through a night to fly across the ocean and back to America. He had no home in any country now. He had fled to America after Auschwitz. It had been the safest for him at that time. His travels had taken him many places after that. Many continents. The only one he hadn’t seen was the one on the bottom, Antarctica. There had been no reason for him to go there so he simply hadn’t. It made sense. It would have been a waste of money and there wasn’t much metal there. Just ice. Then some more ice with maybe a little ice like snow.

He had kept with Lorelei. Erik hadn’t spoken on the plane and other than the necessities exchanged in the morning there hadn’t been much more. He had slept on the plane back to America, only waking for the flight changes. When the morning light finally reached his eyes he found he wished only to go back to sleep. The flight had been hard to get good sleep on. The trip had gone worse than he planned. Lorelei Dresner was supposed to be dead, a crumpled mass in her dressing room. Forever silent. The way all the others were. Except for several. They were bought with Shaw’s money. He had simply given them the next best offer. It was best for his offer to be taken. They knew tha.t

For some reason they were on a sidewalk. It was like a dream. He couldn’t remember how they got there. There was a café across the street, a red haired girl trying to open the door. It was interesting to watch, she was using her wrists. A man in a military uniform. There hadn’t always been this many of them here had there? He’d been here before. He turned back to Lorelei and motioned to the café across the street. “I’m going to get food before finding a hotel. You can come if you wish,” he said slipping his hand into the pocket of his jeans. His jacket was slung over one shoulder and his eyes went back to the café across the street. The people had disappeared and he rolled his shoulders around before making his way across the street.

The man wasn’t sure if she followed. He hoped. He wanted to know more about Shaw’s associates. Which she knew about his associates. She was close to them. Any information she had would help. She knew that. Erik could only hope she realized he knew that.

oming to America had be the flight Lorelei wished she had missed. Not sleeping the night before, then having an over night flight back in was not exactly her cup of tea. Neither was being exhausted. Not to mention she was starving from not really eating much on the plane. Not like there was much of anything to eat in the first place, but still.
The flight had been long, boring, and one she couldn't sleep through. Wonderful, eh? It was like the on coming of a storm, and Lorelei felt rather...unhappy about it. Maybe she was making the wrong decision with helping Erik? But consciously she didn't feel that was the case. He had every right to be angry at Shaw. He had every right to want to murder him in cold blood. Lorelei would probably be hell bent on getting back at him too if she had gone through anything like that. She was thankful she hadn't, or perhaps her other personality would be in charge instead of her. Lorelei shivered at the very thought. Countless numbers of people would be dead if she let that other side of her take hold for too longer. It wasn't a very happy thought, and she was thankful to Erik for bringing her out of it.

Stopping, she looked over at Erik a moment. Food? Oh, right, yeah, that would be a good idea to stop and get something to eat right now. Might help replenish the energy she didn't have.
"Oh, okay," Lorelei nodded a bit and followed behind him. She was tired, sure, but that didn't mean she would just ditch him because she was exhausted. She needed to eat too. It just gave her an excuse to. "And you don't have to get a hotel. You're welcome at my apartment. I have a guest bedroom there," she explained. Though it would be just a tad odd to bring a man who has probably murdered to get to Shaw into her house, she figured if anything happened he didn't like, he'd find it anyway. She wouldn't hide, and she certainly wouldn't make it seem like she needed, or wanted to. Lorelei wasn't worried too much.
Stepping across the street, Lorelei followed Erik to the small Cafe and wandered inside. She looked around. Hey, she knew this place. She came here on occasion on her way to work some mornings.
"Good morning, Welcome, how might I serve you this morning?" Lorelei turned to the man behind the counter and grinned. Hey! It was that cool dude with all the tattoo's! She had gotten her coffee from him plenty of times. That also meant she had been on autopilot heading towards her house this entire time. Ha, she hadn't noticed she was that close.

"Morning, Christian," Lorelei waved a bit from the door. Christian looked over at her, up from his business at the moment, and waved. He was always so friendly and happy. Lorelei loved it.
"Good morning, Lorelei! Be with you in a moment, doll," He smiled to her then went back to the customers at hand. Well, that certainly was nice. Christian seemed to be working just fine. He always did. How he managed to be there at all times of the day some days, Lorelei didn't know. At least not right now. Her lack of sleep was probably keeping her from thinking too detailed.
"That's fine, Christian," Lorelei smiled lightly, looking over to Erik a moment. "Were actually closer to my apartment then I thought," she explained. Bringing up her apartment again, gah, she wished she could of just gone to sleep. But food was a necessity too, and she'd be kicking herself later if she just went home to sleep. So, she waited patiently in line before it would be her turn. It was good for her mind to wander at the moment, focusing on other things at the moment besides bed would be a good idea; keep her awake. Cause at the moment she could certainly walk over to one of the tables, put her head down, and she would probably fall asleep shortly after closing her eyes. Almost forty-eight hours of not sleeping was not a good feeling. She hadn't done it in a long time, so she certainly wasn't enjoying it.

he morning had started off early for Christian Herve'. It started off at six this morning when his alarm went off for work. Tian groaned a bit as he rolled over and slammed his hand on top of his alarm. He was a morning person, but it was the initial 'getting out of bed' part that he wasn't too good at.
"Damn, morning comes too early," he commented, sitting up. Running a hand through his messy blonde hair, Tian sat there a moment and just looked around the room. He needed to go wake up his sister after he was done taking a shower, which meant he needed to get in there as soon as possible. "Alright, I'm up," he told himself, getting out of bed. He wandered over to his dresser and pulled out his clothes for the day and then wandered into the bathroom, closing the door behind him. It didn't take long for him to get into the shower. The hot water poured down onto his naked form and he smiled contently at the feel. Warm showers in the morning were the best. They put him into a fabulous mood and he couldn't deny that one bit. Not when he had work today. Any other day and he wouldn't mind being in a bit of a bad mood in the morning. But not on a work day. He needed to be happy on these mornings.

After washing his hair and body, Tian exited the shower and began drying himself off. He banged on the wall beside him. "Morning, sunshine! It's time to get up!" He called, letting the bathroom echo with his voice. He was trying to wake his sister up. Christina. She wasn't as much a morning person as he was.
He could hear a groggy voice from behind the wall and he chuckled a bit. That was as good of a reply as any this early in the morning from his sister. And so he continued his morning routine, which involved him getting dressed, shaving, washing his face, and going to the bathroom. Once he finished up with that part, Tian exited the bathroom and wandered down the hall to his sisters room. Knocking on the door, Tian made sure she was awake. "You up, sunshine?"
"Mmm, as good as it's gonna get," She spoke sourly. Tian chuckled a bit again and continued on his way. Christina was thankfully good at getting herself up once she had woken her up. If she could fall back to sleep afterwards, Tian would have a bit of a problem, but she learned well. She needed to go to school, and he needed to go to work.
Once he entered the kitchen it was time to start breakfast. Making himself a bowl of cereal, Tian moved over and made his sister a bowl, though leaving the milk in a cup next to it for when she arrived. Wouldn't want to have soggy cereal. That wouldn't make her very happy.

"Breakfast!" He called down the hall as he poured them both a glass of orange juice.
Christina wandered into the room, yawning and Tian couldn't help but smile. Christina was the last thing she had. Thankfully their dad allowed her to live with him. He wasn't very thrilled about it at first, considering he knew about Tian's powers, but Christina did too, and she thought that Tian needed someone around. He needed family, and if his father was 'too much of a chicken s**t to do it, then she needed to', or that's apparently the case. That is what she said when their father initially said no. The whole issue with Tian and Tina's other brother was always a problem. Tian had killed him. On accident, but kinda on purpose. Tian just didn't realize he could do it, and thankfully Tina didn't show any signs of being a mutant. Tian was kind of happy about that. He didn't want her going through the same issues he did. He went through control issues everyday, just trying to keep his powers in check. No need to have floating cups and plates in the cafe. That wouldn't be good. At home it was a different story, but he needed to keep them in check for work purposes.
"Thanks," Christina sat down and began eating slowly. Yup, she wasn't much of a morning person. Tian nodded, leaning back against the counter and eating his cereal.

Breakfast was finished promptly and Tian made sure to brush his teeth before he grabbed up his back-pack and headed for the door. Tina was right behind him, all ready for school.
"Alright, have a wonderful day at school, I'll see you after school," He kissed her temple as the two of them left the apart.
"Thanks, have fun at work," She replied, then turned and headed towards the elevator towards the front of the building. Her girlfriends would be downstairs waiting for her. They picked her up, drove her to school, and dropped her back off again on the way there and back. While Tian went the opposite way towards the stairs to the parking deck.
Once he made it there, Tian wandered over to his bike and put the backpack in the saddle pack on the side of the bike then pulled his helmet on. It was time to drive to work. "From there, I'll get a cup of coffee and I'll be ready," And off he went.

          ****

Tian had been at work now for almost two hours when a familiar pair entered the cafe'. Tian looked up, smiling happily at the three.
"Good morning! The usual, guys?" He asked, practically already getting it ready. It was Frankie and her brothers. They often came in for Tian's special coffee and scones. He was just that good. And yup, Tian was the one who made them every day. He was continuously baking throughout the day to make sure he had fresh pastries and the like out for his customers, and he always made his special recipe coffee. He threw a secret ingredient in. Though for allergy reasons, if someone asked if he had something specific in his coffee, he'd tell them. Just in case. He knew how that went. Tian was actually allergic to the generic coloring used in store bought caramel. So, Tian made all his caramel from scratch for his coffee's. No coloring added, and nobody was allergic to cooked sugar.
And then it seemed another familiar face entered the cafe'. She spoke up before he could see her really. He smiled as two entered the cafe'. He was so used to seeing Lorelei alone, he didn't realize it was her at first.
"Good morning! Welcome, how might I serve you this morning?" He asked out of habit, smiling.
"Morning, Christian," A familiar voice spoke and he looked up again from taking care of Frankie and her brothers and realized it was Lorelei.

"Good morning, Lorelei! Be with you in a moment, doll," He smiled, then went back to his work. He could have the moment to talk to her when she came up to order her coffee and the like. He wondered if she would be ordering her usual or not. She seemed really tired. Maybe he should throw a shot of espresso in for free...
His eyes wandered over to the man she entered with and a moment, Tian began to wonder who he was. He wasn't from around there, that was for sure. Tian was good with names and faces, but it seemed he had never seen this guy before. 'Wonder if that's her boyfriend,' Tian couldn't help but think. He hadn't remembered ever seeing Lorelei with a man before. So maybe she finally got herself a man. Tian smiled. It was a nice thought. Lorelei was a sweet girl. She often came in around Thanksgiving time and brought him and Tina home made pumpkin pie. He loved that. Mmm, now he wanted a slice of her pumpkin pie. Darnet!

he moment the smell of food hit his nose he realized he hadn’t eaten since the morning he went to find Lorelei. His hand stayed in his pants pocket as he looked around the café. It was a normal looking one by any means. Except maybe the one who was running it. The tattoos threw him off a moment. IT was rare to see someone with that many of them. His attention went back to the smell of food though. It wasn’t like his stomach was completely empty…well, it was. It was grumbling beneath his crinkled shirt. That bothered him slightly. Usually his shirts weren’t messed up at all. He liked them crisp. There was some control in that. He liked his control. However wrinkles weren’t something he really liked. They just never wanted to smooth out.

“I don’t need anywhere long. Just time to sleep,” he said. Her couch would be fine for him. It meant he didn’t have to pay for a room. His money was thin at the moment. He hadn’t really taken any recently. The last flight he had taken was expensive. The trips were difficult sometimes. He usually tried to take them quickly. It had taken him years to get to this point in hunting Shaw. Years. Now he was finally getting close. It made money not such an aspect to him. He’d worry about it after. Erik ran his fingers through his hair, smoothing it out again. He could feel the burn of sleep in his eyes. He needed a good while of sleep before going after Shaw. There could be no mistakes. Sleep deprivation wasn’t good for making a perfect murder run.

He nodded his head when she said they were closer to her apartment than she thought. He couldn’t help but think that was good. It was hard not give a slight sigh of relief. His back felt stiff, his neck had a crick in it. Honestly he was impressed his regular charming attitude was as lovely as it currently was. He really didn’t need to have the girl walk him off into traffic like that poor sap when she was younger. That was one thing about women he didn’t get. They were always so topsy turvy. He could understand since he had broken her heart and she was young and apparently in love. The entire worry of her walking him into traffic now felt legitimate. Women when they were tired weren’t always lovely. He’d been with plenty to know that. He had been yelled at, things thrown at him, threatened, apologized to. It was like they were a constant storm. They weren’t able to be kept. Much like mutations. He preferred mutations though. Mutations were interesting, a higher species. Humans would be threatened soon. More and more of them would be coming out into public. Then people would panic. It’s what they did. They didn’t know how to react to things.

The line continued to move and soon they were nearing the front. He turned to look at Lorelei and let his volume drop so only she could hear him. “Perhaps you could give me a warning of what his associates do,” he stated, drawing out the perhaps. He needed to know. If he had an idea then he could counteract them. Or at least calmly think through the situation at hand.

Then he heard something interesting. It wasn’t much of anything. Just a fragment of a sentence. “….aren’t all like Shaw?” His eyes travelled to who it came from. Oh this wasn’t good. He needed to solve this soon. Military was getting involved. There wasn’t any more from them. They were of a high rank, which was odd because the youngest one couldn’t be much older than him. However, he couldn’t’ found he had a high amount of respect for either of them. Men following orders and him didn’t get along much now. Ever actually. He despised me who were just following orders. Perhaps more than the men who gave the orders. The ones following had a choice of what to do. Then tey always listened to their superior. That’s how they were trained. They weren’t’ strong enough to make the decision themselves so they let someone else do it. They were cowards. They could never be better than a follower. It was something Erik had refused long ago. He was his own man. He always would be.

rancine never woke up with alarms, not like her brothers did. Nightmares. That’s what woke her up at seven in the morning daily. They always were about one thing. Lightening. She was terrified of it. Usually she woke up in it though. That was the case today. She rolled over off of her side, grasping her arm, her eyes squeezed shut and bottom lip clamped between her teeth. Screaming didn’t help anything. Her brothers couldn’t touch her. They couldn’t help her. It made acting out in pain pointless. It didn’t keep the tears from springing to her eyes as her fingers found the new gash across her arm. Scars covered her arms like veins. What was another one? Her brothers were up already. They were always up early. It was a habit they hadn’t broke. The girls green eyes finally opened and looked around the room. Her room was the only one in the house that didn’t have any metal in it. Her bed was on the ground, there weren’t any lamps here and the door was nothing more than a pretty curtain she had picked out. She removed her fingers from her and pulled herself up out of bed. Her brothers were arguing about something.

She needed one of them to open the medicine cabinet to get the bandages anyways. Frankie’s shaking hands had become so much of a regular thing to her that she usually didn’t notice it until she needed something. “She is your sister!”

“She is one of them! She can’t even function right with us! How can we expect her to go anywhere else and do any beter?” Her. That seemed to be a good topic now a days. Some man had come around, he was a mutant. He was different though. He thought they could co exist. They had been arguing about this for several days now.

“They’re killing her, Wayne. Do you not even notice that? She can’t sleep, she has problems eating, she has problems drinking, she can’t hold things, her bodies being destroyed! Or do you just not care?” They were always loud yellers. Even when she was younger she remembered that. They were always yelling. Currently it was loud enough for them not to notice her footsteps. Fran loved her brothers. She really did. They did more than she could ever ask for. They took care of her. They kept her parents from knowing. Wayne had tried to get her help. He had gotten himself and Noah promotions in the process, getting the max clearance they could possibly get with the exception of a few select things. The military had been trying to cure her for years now. Obviously it wasn’t happening.

“Charles Xavier is no better than-“ Her brother cut his sentence off when he saw her. Her long sleeve shirt was torn where the cut was, stained red on the edges. Noah got up from his seat, raising a hand to his older brother saying he’d get it. She clasped her hands together, feeling them shake to an extent it was clearly visible.

      ◆ ◆ ◆

It wasn’t long before they had left to go to the café that Frankie loved. Best coffee and best scones. Ever. And Christian was always nice. He never did ask about the shaking. Her brothers had never needed to pass it off as Parkinsons. Her brothers had been silent since their argument this morning. Their jackets were on and their hair was slicked back like it always was. They always looked so professional compared to her. Noah always helped her fix her hair. IT was the one thing they could still touch. He had pulled the sides back out of her face. It always helped her feel better after a night like what she had.

Unfortunately it didn’t help her open the door any. She couldn’t touch the metal and since her brothers were all but catatonic she was the one stuck opening it. With her covered wrists. “Just....Francine!” Wayne grabbed the knob and gave it a turn pushing the door open. Oh he was not in a good ood today was he?

“thanks,” she said forcing a smile on. Act like it was fine. Eventually it would be. Right? Christian greeted then they came in and she raised her hand in a wave. He and his food was sometimes the only bright point in her day. Her day was full of baby sitters and following her brothers around. It wasn’t much of anything to do. People got frustrated with her and they didn’t let her do things for herself. “Yep! The usual please,” she said dropping her hand when her whole arm started to shake. Her fingers strummed against her legs, unable to keep still. It was a side effect of her power. Too much energy in her body. Too much. It was warm out but luckily the café wasn’t as hot as it was outside. She was used to moving around but she never liked it when it had decent weather. Her brothers didn’t want her to wear short sleeves and she didn’t complain. People would ask about the scars. It was never an easy thing to explain.

“Frank why don’t we go sit down,” Noah said motioning over to their usual table. She nodded her head. “I’ll meet you there,” he said. Francine smiled at him partially, tucking a strand of hair back behind her ear. Some strands never got in the right spot. That’s what she got for letting a boy fix her hair though. “How do we know that some aren’t like Shaw at all?” she caught his sentence to her oldest brother on her way back to the table.

“you wait in line or whatever. I have a meeting. I’ll send private Lopez this way for when you’re done watching her,” wayne told Noah. Francine had made her way to the table at this point. She sat down in the chair, her back not touching the back of it. Metal. Couldn’t touch that. Conductor. The man left Noah in line and went over to where she was. “I have to go to a meeting. I’ll see you tonight.” He didn’t wait much for an answer before turning to leave.

“I love you guys, you know that right?” the man paused for a moment but just shook his head. He never was one for endearments. Not toward her at least.

he day was certainly starting off rather well. He had seen a lot of his usual customers and business was going good, as usual. It was just something about the new recipes he had made. Originally the Cafe' was his fathers, and him and his brother were going to run it together. It was their Mother's idea. She had designed the interior of the place too. But Tian was always better with food and baked goods than anyone else in his family. Tina just knew how to follow instructions when it comes to making the stuff.
Tian dropped the cup and pastry of Frankie's usual on a tray and got her brother his usual too.
"On the house this morning," He grinned. Tian was the owner, he had every right to do that, and he noticed that giving people free stuff on occasion - especially his regulars - got them in better moods. And not everyone was a morning person. Look at his sister, she certainly wasn't a morning person. She was a night owl. While Tian was an early bird.

His eyes moved over to Frankie as she sat down and he grinned at her. He was always a friendly soul. Even though he felt a little out of place in the time period. There was something odd about all his tattoo's. All his hippie friends thought it was rad. He was a walking canvas. And that was true.
But he quickly left his train of thought as he heard the name Shaw. Lord did that sound familiar. Why was that? He shook his mind off it and grinned at Lorelei as she stepped forward with that guy.
"Good morning, what might I getcha?" He asked, looking at Erik, already working on Lorelei's usual. He knew that girl well. Looking at her a moment, he added 'espresso shot' on the bottom. She looked like she needed a little umph to get her back to her apartment at least. In fact, they both looked exhausted. "Long night?" Tian looked from Erik to Lorelei and sent her a devilish smirk.
Lorelei was slow on the uptake, but as she realized it with his smirk, Lorelei's lips pursed out and her brows sank down into a rather...adorable angry look.
"We aren't dating." She spoke matter-of-factually, which just made Tian chuckle a bit.
"Oh, excuse me," He continued to chuckle and then started on Erik's order.

Upon finishing he brought Erik's order up and Lorelei's as well. Hey, what the hell. Lorelei was a reoccurring customer. Tian was in an especially good mood today. So, what the hell? "On the house. Both of you," He gave Lorelei a wink. Though he laughed as Lorelei dropped a twenty into his tip jar. "Well, thank you kindly," he nodded his head to her, smiling.
Turning on his heels, Tian left the counter and grabbed the broom from the backroom and started to sweep up the floor and clean table tops. It was a usual thing for him to do while there wasn't anyone to attend to. And Tian was certainly known for his entertaining outbursts, but he wasn't sure if either Lorelei or Frankie had been around during one of them. Well, now it seemed they would be as 'Wake me up before you go' from Wham! came on the radio. Tian blinked, hearing the faint song and he rushed over to mess with the volume of the radio. Oh yes, now was definitely a good time to show off his older brother weirdness. Especially when Christina wasn't around. She'd be totally embarrassed -- most likely anyway. He was pretty good at holding off the weirdo-older-brother crap.
Snapping his fingers, Tian danced his way back over to where he dropped his broom and began sweeping a bit more enthusiastically along with the beat, using the end of the broom handle as a make-shift mic.

He went around the whole cafe', thankfully it was mostly just Lorelei, her 'not-boyfriend' boyfriend, Frankie, and her brother Noah, just dancing and singing along. He was also glad that he at least sang well. But hey, what was the fun in doing this all by himself?
He whipped around and faced Frankie, being silly of course and began singing the lyrics as if it were to her. "Cause' you're my lady, I'm your fool. It makes me crazy when you act so cruel," He pointed at her a moment then did some silly move to explain his 'craziness'. "Come on, baby, let's not fight. We'll go dancing, everything will be alright!" And he spun around and continued dancing and singing around as he swept the floor and cleaned off the table tops. Yup, if this guy wasn't a dork-burger to the max, then nobody was.
Once the song was finished, Tian quickly went back to the radio and turned it down so he wouldn't blare people out with another song he was back into the kitchen. He had some things in the oven he needed to check, and it was a good thing he did, because right as he got up to them, the timer went off. Wonderful timing.

Pulling them out, Tian got them all situated to cool down and he brought the tray of chocolate cake things. They were like volcano cakes with oozing fudge in the middle.
Taking out two and placing them onto separate plates, Tian brought out four forks and dropped a cake out onto Frankie and Lorelei's table.
"Another thing on the house. It's a new recipe I'm working on and I need some input, and what better people to get input from than my best customers, hm? Enjoy," Tian grinned and went back to his spot behind the counter. Now he felt better. Putting the volcano cakes away into the display case, he checked the clock. Ah, it was still early. Which meant that the morning rush was over, and he had enough time to sit back and relax. Maybe he'd finish that book he's been meaning to finish this entire time. But that bit about Shaw still continued to pick at him. Tian couldn't help but feel nosy. He was a bit. So~ His eyes wandered over to Frankie and Noah and he let his mind drift into Noah's, picking at his brain on a couple things. Finding the bit of information he needed, which was an image of Shaw's face, Tian blinked. Yeah, he's seen the guy before. He had stumbled upon that pretty blonde girl. They had...mentally stumbled upon one another to say the least. It was an interesting introduction. However, the images following Shaw were rather surprising.

So, Frankie had a mutation? Scars...That would explain the long clothes during the summer time; she didn't want to show them. And this Charles guy. He sounded better. Much better, shoots, even Tian wouldn't mind talking to this Charles guy. Tian needed a bit of help on his abilities. Pulling from Noah's mind not to...invade anymore personal space, Tian's eyes moved over to Frankie.
"You know, being around others like yourself will help you control that gift you have, Francine. It's been difficult dealing with mine alone too, but I couldn't imagine how you must feel. My apologizes," He spoke directly into her brain. He was expecting a rather startled response, considering Tian didn't talk mentally to anyone else but Christina on most occasions.

orilei nodded a bit at Erik's mention of sleep.
"The guest bed is rather comfortable. I'm sure you'll sleep well. Well rested for your endeavors." Another yawn from her. Wonderful. Let's not talk about sleep anymore, okay? Or else she was just gonna curl up on the tile floor and pass out right there.
She waited patiently in line with him until they were closer to the front. Erik mentioned Shaw's associates and lorelei couldn't help but smile. Ah, she did like some of them.
"Well," She made sure her voice was soft. "Azazel's a teleporter. Watch out for him, he'll not only get you with his dagger, his tail is a weapon as well," she explained. "You'll know which one he is by first glance. He looks like Satan," She couldn't help but giggle at the comparison. "I have sketches of them all at home," She explained. She would show hiim that when they got back to the apartment. "Emma is a telepath, as well as has this diamond skin. She's simply stunning in that form," was Lorelei a tad jealous of the pretty telepath? Yes, you could definitely say that. Lorelei felt plain as it was in most instances, and standing next to Emma, she felt utterly incomparable. "And Janos can control wind in some aspects. He makes cyclone like things with his hand. Most of it deals with speed in all honesty. Because if he spins around fast enough, he can hurl objects through solid steal. There is a reason why Shaw has been untouchable for a long time," They were good.

Lorelei felt a tad jealous of all three of them in all honesty. They had something Lorelei had never had. And Lorelei certainly wasn't one of those trusted people in the group, well, she would of said 'yet', but considering the circumstances, that was never going to happen now.
And it was almost like a sudden realization; Once Erik was done, she wouldn't be needed anymore and he'd leave. Obviously Shaw wasn't going to be around, the others wouldn't trust her; she was going to be alone again. Lorelei blinked a bit and let her shoulders slump down as she stared down at the floor. Again? It just seemed like she wasn't supposed to be with people like her, huh? Never found any while in Germany, and now that she found some friends who were also like her, they were considered the bad guy, and once she was done being useful, that would be it. "Well ain't that just....groovy? she spoke aloud to herself and sighed. She was happy she finally got up to the front of the line. Tian was always a friendly face, and he made her feel a bit better.
He spoke to Erik a moment, taking his order then looked over to Lorelei.
"Long night?" He asked. Lorelei looked at him, about to nod and explain about the trip when she noticed the smirk on his face.
Her lips pursed out in a frown and her brows furrowed downwards.
"We aren't dating," She practically spat. Thinking of not-so-nice things, being tired, and then adding that on just didn't help her mood any. She needed that coffee.

"Oh, excuse me," He chuckled a bit and left the counter, going to fix them both something. It didn't take long for Tian to return. He typically was very prompt in his work. He mentioned something about being on the house and Lorelei just gave him a look, pulled a twenty from her wallet and dropped it into his change jar. To hell it was on the house. It was on her, and then some. Tian was a kind guy, but she knew he needed the money too. And right now, she had plenty to spare.
Thankful to get her coffee and chocolate cookie, Lorelei picked up her things and wandered over to her usual booth and sat down in the corner of it against the window and stared out the window at the morning. She sipped softly on her coffee. Her mood had dwindled incredibly now that she got to thinking about the consequences of this whole thing. But Lorelei knew she didn't want to associate herself with people like Shaw. That wasn't how Lorelei worked. He had complimented her on her ability to sing and hold an audience, but that was the most of their conversations. The most interaction she got was through Emma. She loved talking with the woman.
Lorelei looked down to her cookie and then began eating it. Chocolate; that seemed like a good idea at the moment. She needed some happy time, and chocolate always made her feel better.

"That's all I know about them really, at least when it comes to their abilities," Lorelei continued her conversation when Erik sat down. She kept her voice down. "And I still don't even know what Shaw can do," She knew he was. There was no doubt about it, but what his abilities were, that was a totally different story. "I'll check my messages when I get home. Emma typically calls me the day I arrive back in town to see what days I can work, or when I'm invited to things. I'll see what I have planned, if anything, and then fill you in as much as I can," Yes, keep thinking about business, because right now, thinking about the whole personal aftermath wasn't exactly the best idea. She was already upset as it was, just thinking about it.
Lorelei sipped at her coffee again. "I can't wait to get into bed," she grumbled to herself. Yes, bed would be the best option. Lorelei could sleep this mood off and feel so much better when she woke up. No more of this stupid 'I'll have no more friends' deal. She'll just have to make more. It shouldn't be that hard, right? Hopefully anyway.

And speaking of making friends, hearing a familiar song come on the radio and turn up, Lorelei turned her head to find Tian dancing around the Cafe' and just being utterly silly. Now THAT was something that certainly helped her mood.
Laughing a bit, Lorelei bobbed her head back and forth to the beat and continued to watch Tian. Okay, so maybe she could count Tian as a friend, but she had no idea if he was a mutant or not. It's not like there were neon flashing signs above their heads that said 'MUTANT'. Nor was Lorelei a mind reader. Damn't, there it was again. She would of liked to be a mind reader compared to the abilities she had. It would probably be much easier in life if she had that ability. Maybe she would of seen Edmund being a serious douche bag before it actually happened and she wouldn't feel so...betrayed. Men. No wonder she went as a call girl; those men could just ******** you and leave. You didn't have to deal with them again on a more personal term. You didn't have to worry about them cheating on you because there was no emotional attachment. Lord, she was starting to realize just how much she detached herself from most people thinking about all this.
Thankfully Tian was an easy distraction from her thoughts and she was pulled away yet again.
A light smile spread onto her lips and she continued to watch him, letting her mind focus on him. Yup, she needed sleep.
