"We're gonna lose our minds tonight!"

User ImageTess shrugged when Dee warned her about sneaking up on her. The thread didn't really bother Tess. In fact, it just made her grin broaden. "Who knows? Maybe that's what I've been trying to get you to do. Maybe I like it rough." Tess ended the sentence with a playful growl. Her expression turned serious though when Andie mentioned her predicament with Connor. "Now that's just not fair. I mean, he likes girls. He should know what makes them so irresistible," she reasoned. "I guess since it's Connor's fault I can forgive the lack of my best friend," she decided just before Andie hugged her.

"Yeah, well, you have a funny way of showing it," she teased as she reveled in the feel of Andie's arms around her. Odie wasn't sure when it happened but Andie's charms had made her fall hard. It was like one day Anders was her best friend and the next, Anders was the object of her affection. The realization was so sudden that she wasn't even sure when she had noticed her feelings for the older girl. Still, she knew Andie and that meant she knew her friend would never feel the same about her. Of course, that didn't stop her from enjoying every chance she got to touch Dee without coming off as clingy or creepy.

She returned the hug and made sure her blush had completely disappeared before she pulled away from her friend and leaned against the bench's back. It was then that she realized that Acklay was with Andie. She shouldn't have been surprised since Andie took that dog everywhere with her. She reached down and gave the dog a quick pat on the head and leaned back again. "So tell me... how did you survive the weekend without me? Did you have to resort to drastic measures?"

Andie laughed softly. "In that case..." she murmured before standing up, pulling Tess with her, and pushing the smaller girl against the tree roughly before pressing her own body against the blond chick's. Anders smirked. "How's this?" she asked in a seductive tone. She loved to tease people, even when she knew they didn't like her like that. Dee was just an all around flirt. Her face was only a few inches away from the green-eyed girl's. She giggled and quickly pecked Otessa's lips before sliding back over to the bench and sitting down with a giggle.

"I know... I can't help it if I'd rather make out with someone that actually has a sense of personal hygiene and also is ******** gorgeous!" she said with a chuckle. She held the girl close to her and inhaled a breath of shampoo-smelling air. She grinned. Girls always smelled amazing. She giggled. "Do I?" she thought for a moment. Anders had always thought she was pretty good at showing the younger girl her love for her.

"Such drastic measures that I willingly went to a debutante just so I wasn't bored completely out of my mind, I mean, at least at those things, I have something to make fun of!" she said with a wry smile. It was true. over the weekend she had willingly gone to one of those horribly cliche meetings were everyone wore sparkley pink dresses. It was better than being set up on a date with some random guy you've never met before...

User ImageTess wasn't quite sure what to expect when Dee pulled her up from the bench. She certainly did not expect her friend to shove her against the tree. Her breath caught when she felt Dee's taller body lean into her shorter one. After the quick peck on the lips, Tess had to remind herself to breathe. When Dee went back to the bench, Odie had to give herself a minute for her mind to catch up with whatever the hell it was had just happened. Was Dee trying to give her a heart attack or something? She was pretty sure she would never know. Once she was sure she had herself under control, she joined her friend back on the bench.

"Never mind. You have a great way of showing I'm your best friend," she said, resisting the urge to sigh. Then she busted out laughing when she heard what her friend had done over the weekend. "You went to a debutante thing? I can't believe it. You must have been desperate. You didn't participate did you?" She couldn't stop the beaming smile that came when she pictured her friend in a dress. "God, I am NEVER leaving you alone for the weekend again," she teased as she leaned her head against Dee's shoulder.

Acklay had fallen asleep on the grass at Andie's feet as the two girls talked. Anders felt herself blush as she was laughed at. She did feel kind of pathetic for having going to that thing willingly. But what else was she supposed to do without her best friend? "Oh good. Please don't." she rested her head atop the smaller girl's.

Andie looked at Laylay and smiled. He looked so peaceful. "So, Cutie, would you like to come over to my house? It seems to be getting a bit dark out. I don't want you to freeze to death." she said sticking out her tongue playfully. She didn't really care if Connor got mad at her for bringing home a friend. Screw him. He wasn't her parent. He was just her older brother who wanted more than anything for his little sister to be a perfect little heterosexual princess. Of course, that would never happen.

Anders' hands thoughtfully drifted through Tess's blond hair. It was much softer than it looked. And it smelled good. Dee continued to run her fingers through it as she looked up at the sky. She'd been in the park for more than five hours, and she needed to get home. Though she wasn't particularly excited about seeing Connor. Sure, she loved him, how could she not? But he was really getting on her nerves.

User Image"Cutie? Are you talking to me or the dog?" Tess asked as she snuggled closer to Anders to absorb some more of the girl's body heat because she was indeed freezing. God, she hated Boston. She missed the sun and the sand in Cali. She looked up at the sky, seeing if there was any chance that the sun would be peeking out any time soon. She frowned at her discovery. It was still overcast and it seemed like it would be that way all day. Wonderful. "If you're asking me, I'd love to go to your place," she finally answered before she pulled away from the older girl's touch and stood up. She stretched for a moment before retrieving her skateboard from behind the bench. "I'm sure Connor will be all smiles to see me. You know how much he looooves a bad influence like me," she remarked as she held the skateboard across the top of her back.

Tess knew that Andie loved her brother dearly but she and Connor often did not see eye to eye on certain things; mainly what would make Anders happy. Still, Tess did her best to be civil around her friend's older brother. By civil, she meant she did her best to avoid confrontations with him.

Dee smirked. "I'm talking to you." she said standing up after the other girl. It was a bit too cold for Andie's tastes. She wrapped her arms around the smaller girl for a bit more warmth, then let go. She sighed and looked around. Most people would find it kind of awkward to flirt with their best friend, but for Andie it was just the way she was. When there was a beautiful girl nearby she was always flirtatious.

"Yeah, and he knows how much I love you, so he can deal with it."
she said with a smile. She looked down at the large Husky mix and told him to go home. He barked as if in understanding, and began to run in the direction of Andie's house. She smiled and took Tess's hand before walking towards her motorcycle. "Let's get you somewhere warm." she said with a smile.

User ImageTess smiled when she felt Dee's around her. In moments like this, it was nice to pretend that her friend returned her feelings. Of course, she never let herself get too lost in the fantasy. By the time Anders had pulled away, Tess had ended the fantasy and brought herself back to the real world. The real world, where she and Andie were only best friends, not more than that. It was when she came back from her fantasies that she always had the urge to throttle her friend for being such a flirt.

"I like the sound of 'warm',"
she commented as she allowed Andie to lead her to her bike. "I have got to get you to California some time. Going to the beach all year round, beach volleyball, topless babes... Man, it had it all." Tessa sighed wistfully as they approached the bike. She had lived in Boston for two years and she still missed her old home. As she put on the passenger's bike helmet and climbed onto the back of the bike though, she had to admit that she could find at least one good thing about Boston.

"Mmmm. Topless babes? Does that include you? Or do I not get that pleasure?" she asked with a wry smile as she pulled on her Boba Fett helmet. Oh yeah. Andie was definitely a Star Wars fan. I mean come on, how many people have a motorcycle helmet that looks like Boba's helmet? Not many people. She then straddled her bike and revved it.

After waiting a moment for Otessa to settle herself on the bike, Andie rushed off towards her house. After a few minutes drive, she pulled into the driveway of the large brown house. As she cut the engine, she smiled and took off her helmet. The sound of California made her think back to her Bear Lake days. God, those days were fantastic. Hot girls in bikinis, boating all day long without a worry. Spending long nights on the beach with her first ever love interest. Those were some good times.

She got off of the motorcycle and closed the garage door. After placing the helmet on the seat of her bike, she offered a hand to help Tess off the bike. She pulled the helmet off the other girl gently, and giggled at the site of her hat hair. She ruffled the blond's hair and kissed her forehead gently. "Connor?! I'm home!" she called out into the house as she walked through the door from the garage. "Where the hell have you been all day? Marcus has been calling and calling wanting to schedule another date with you!" the older boy's voice called out. Anders grumbled something before walking over to her brother. "You know my sexuality, so why do you even bother, Connor? Really? Do you not get it? I'm not going to change!" she screamed at him. He was really starting to bug her. She shook her head and walked up the stairs to her room. She looked back at Tess to make sure she was following.

User ImageTess rolled her eyes and shook her head at the question of her topless. She could have sworn Andie had a one track mind. She decided it would be in her best interest not to answer. Instead, she leaned into her friend's back and wrapped her arms around Dee's waist before they took off. The ride was over far too quickly for her tastes.

When they got to Andie's house, Tess allowed herself to be helped off the bike. She frowned when the taller girl took off her helmet and ruffled her hair. She stuck her tongue out at Dee as she dropped her skateboard in the garage and followed the other girl into the house; only to be bombarded by a s**t-storm of yelling from both Connor and Dee. When Andie was done giving Connor a piece of her mind, Tess followed her back to her room. She stopped when she got close to Connor though.

"You know, if you keep trying to control her like that, you're going to lose her and you'll both be unhappy," she pointed out, surprising herself with the words. "And in case you haven't noticed, I don't like when she's unhappy so cut it out or I'll give you something to really whine about," she threatened before retreating to Dee's room. Her first action was to run over to her friend's bed and plop herself down on it. She always loved being in Anders's room; especially her bed. It was so much comfier than her cot at home. Of course, Tess had never even thought of taking advantage of Dee or even asking her friend for anything. Sure, she knew the girl's brother was rich, but she was happy with what she had. She just wished the girl was easier to shop for. It was hard to find a birthday present for someone who could have almost anything she wanted.

"Marcus, huh? Sounds sexy," she commented before sprawling herself out on the bed.

Alice savored the walk back to her house with Charlie. She didn't really care if she was late for the meeting with her parents' newest find. Sure, her mother would blow a gasket and her father would look disappointed but Alice figured it would be good for her to practice her parents' meltdowns before she broke the news to them about her sexuality and her career choice. By the time she got back to her house, the sun was beginning to go down and a chill had begun to settle in the area. The fact that her house was on oceanfront property and had wind coming in off the water didn't really help matters. Eager to get in from the cold, Alice easily cleared the steps and ran into her house, followed by a playful Charlie. She was immediately greeted by the sound of her mother's voice.

"Alice dear, would it kill you to wear a watch every once in a while? Especially on days you know you'll be entertaining guests?" Alice's mother had her hands on her hips as she spoke. At first glance, the two of them wouldn't have appeared to be related. Alice's mother was far taller than her and her hair was a dark shade of brown, rather than Alice's strawberry blonde. If one were to look closer though, it became apparent that the two of them shared the same striking eye color and fine bone structure. "And would you please keep that mongrel outside? It gets drool all over the furniture," she added without giving Alice a chance to respond to the first question, which lead her to count it as a rhetorical one.

"Mom, when you say 'mongrel', are you talking about Alice or Charlie?" A new, somewhat masculine voice was heard before the speaker even came into room. Alice glared at her younger brother when he showed himself, leaning arrogantly against the door jamb in the doorway leading to the kitchen.

"Billy, do be a dear and shut up. Brain cells escape every time you open your mouth and you already have so few of those that it would be a shame for your to lose anymore," she requested before sticking her tongue out at her sibling. The action made her mother's eyes narrow in annoyance which, in turn, made her cast her own eyes downwards in apology.

"I hope you don't plan on wearing that to meet Graham," her mother said with a sneer. "Please change into something a little more colorful, Alice. I wouldn't want Graham to get the impression that your personality is as dull as your outfit."

The teenager watched her mother leave the foyer through the door that lead to the living room before going to do as she was told. Unfortunately for her brother, the staircase was next to the kitchen doorway, giving her a reason to get close enough to punch him in the arm. She smiled when he yelped in surprise and then ran up the stairs to the second floor, taking them two steps at a time so she could accomplish the ever-so-exciting task of changing into an acceptable outfit for... Graham.

When she got to her room, she stared into her closet for what seemed like forever before finally picking out something her mother would find acceptable and what she hoped Graham would hate. When she looked at herself in the mirror after she changed though, she found that all she could think about was what Andie would think if she ever saw her wearing a skirt. Weird...

Andie scoffed. "Yeah, sexy." She said in her most sarcastic voice. The man that Connor had been speaking of was a fifty year old Latino ex-wrestler who obviously didn't know how to keep his physical hygiene in check. Every time Anders met the guy, he smelled like the sewer. She shuddered and pushed him out of her head. She didn't need to think about old hairy men. That was disgusting. She walked over to her closet and looked through it, looking for something a bit warmer to wear. She pulled out a new shirt. It was a warmer one than the T-shirt she was wearing.

Without any warning, Anders stripped off her shirt before pulling on the long sleeved one. "Y'know? I might actually be attracted to him if he'd shower once in a while, and maybe if he lost two hundred pounds.... and if he shaved... and if he somehow got twenty or thirty years younger..." she said with a smirk. Apparently Marcus would really have to work if he wanted her affections. "And if he got a sex change....." she said with a loud laugh. Once she had gotten the shirt straightened out on her stick-like figure, she sat on her bed next to where her best friend was sprawled out.

She rested her elbows on her knees and her head in her hands. She didn't know how much more of Connor she could take. It was difficult to always be told to change. Being lesbian was not a choice, nor a disease as some thought. It was how she was. Sometimes she wished she could just be the perfect child and sister, so that Connor wouldn't freak out at her so much. But that was just in her dreams. There was no way she was ever going to change. Andie was good at acting tough around her brother, but the truth was, whenever he tried to change her, she broke down inside. He was her brother. He was supposed to love her no matter what. Connor was the only family she had left in the God forsaken world. Well there was Otessa, but she wasn't blood family, though Andie had always wished they were sisters. Anders had always said that the only reason they weren't sisters is because their parents couldn't handle them as sisters.

User ImageTess grimaced when she heard Andie's description of Marcus. "Never mind. Not sexy. Just a sexy name," she amended. "You know, Connor's taste in men is kind of disgusting. He would not make a very good gay man," she commented as she rolled over onto her back and stared up at the ceiling while the other girl changed. She felt Dee's weight settle next to her and was a little concerned when her friend didn't say anything else. She sat up and was not happy with the sight that greeted her. Hoping to cheer her friend up, she wrapped her arms around the older girl and rested her chin on Dee's shoulder.

"Connor will come around. He'll see that you are the best sister anyone could have," she assured the girl in a soft voice. To say that the tone was unusual for the loud girl was an understatement. She really only used her indoor voice if it was really important. She was pretty sure she'd be horrible in a horror film situation because she wouldn't be able to keep her voice down. "If you want, I could introduce him to my parents. Hippies are always a real eye-opener for people," she suggested, only half joking. At this point she was willing to try anything to get Connor to accept Andie for who she was.
