Finishing off his drink David then reached over to the envelope of cash he had picked up that day and passed it to Mario. “There’s our pick up by the way,” David explained as the bartender offered David more where he shook it off. David knew he should have been getting going, he needed to head out and search for a missing woman in the morning… for Mario, all because of damn Mario, his brother, his family. God it made him sick some days. Mario picked up the envelope and looked inside nodding seeing that it was there, most likely about to count it when he got back to his place. “I need to head out,” David explained as he got off his stool, placed his hat on his head and his jacket on.

“Awe… what! I just got here, got a date or something?” Mario asked giving a small chuckle making David actually smile and nod his head as he pulled out his wallet and started to count out some cash of his own.

“Yeah… with my pillow,” David explained making Mario laugh as the money was thrown on the bar. “See you tomorrow,” David said giving Mario a pat on his shoulder as he moved past him and out towards the door, getting a shout goodbye from Mario as he did so. Outside David straightened out his Jacket and took in the cooling night air and the light of the street lamps as he walked towards home, not far from Jimmy’s. Reaching into his coat pocket David pulled out a ciggerite and lite it, some real calming fresh air to get him home in his mind. The city was never really dead silent but it defiantly wasn’t quite that night. It didn’t take long with David walking before commotion could have been heard up a few blocks, as he got closer the sounds became clearer still finally looking around a corner a few men could be spotted getting in a scuffle, just about to leave allowing men to set their own business it was the sight of a woman that made him stop.

That was what crossed the line, not recognizing who it was right away David shouted a “Hey!” up the ally as he then moved up closer before the image of a woman actually already having one man on the ground emerged, and then details showed it was Lucia. David froze momentarily trying to process what was happening, it was the woman who he has seen earlier in hopes of never seeing again showed up out of the blue was is first thought but then came his second. There was a hit here, a hit there, dodging another man on the ground while the first one was still struggling to get up because of a hit he had received. The woman was still going at it though even as the second gained ground again. It was the glimmer of the blade that made David finally move again, reaching quick and swiftly for his gun pulling it out taking aim and firing at the mettle, hitting it making it being dropped to the ground, while the gun shot made people freeze for a moment.

David kept his aim focused as they turned to look at him, the first who was on the ground managed finally to get up off the ground and muttered something it being too much of a pain in the a** they were doing and to leave. David still stood like stone ready to let off another round but they started to back off down the road, Lucia getting one last good kick to the third knocking him down to the ground before he was out of her sights. Walking up to Lucia closing the gab David only put down his gun and holstered it when the men were far enough away it was clear that they weren’t coming back. Looking at Lucia David blinked slightly still moving up closer to her… so that’s what she had meant by flexibility. Finally getting close enough to Lucia, David gave her a once over but not in a sexual kind of way at all that time, it was more of a surprised but impressed kind of way till he saw her arm and a cut that was made. “Jesus Pisano,” David said, “You alright?”

Normally she would have pulled out her gun if she had it with her, but she figured this was good exercise. The men kept at it, thinking they could bring her down but they never expected Evelyn to fight back. She grabbed on man's arm as he slashed at her, bending it back and hitting a nerve on his hand with her free hand. The knife fell from his hand, and he let out an agonizing yelp as she twisted his arm back. She placed her knee behind his back and pulled his arm, just enough to where it would hurt like hell. The woman quickly released him and aimed a back kick at the next guy who attempted to hit her.

These thugs were really nothing as far as she was concerned. Mostly drunk with nothing better to do than to pick on some innocent bystander, but she was glad it was herself and no one else. Still dealing with them was more time than it was worth, and the cut on her arm was starting to throb. Deciding to use that to fuel her anger she kicked the man still standing hard in the gut, moving her hand to hit him in the back of the head. He fell to the floor and she grinned, placing her hand on her hips. Of course, the second man stood up again, not giving up.

The woman frowned slightly and readied herself to fight again. She blocked his few strikes, dodging the knife and weaving through his arms. Before she knew it a gun shoot was heard and the man let go of the knife. Both of them froze, but Evelyn swiveled to see where the shot came from. Thinking she was open the man attempted to punch her, only to have her grab his hand and punch him in the face with her free one. He fell to the ground hard, making her roll her eyes.

If it was one of their buddies she was in a bit of trouble. Dodging a bullet was hard but if she could disarm the man than she should be fine. Thankfully it was David, which only made her raise an eyebrow. What the hell was he doing around here? The woman only shrugged, watching as the other mobsters stood up, their leading claiming this whole thing was too much trouble. A bunch of wimps was all they were. They couldn't even beat up a woman, which was pretty sad in her opinion.

The third man in the party attempted to stand up, but she kicked him again; making sure to push her boot deep into his back. "Bet that taught ya a lesson you dumb drunk." She hissed, kicking him away from her as he scrambled to his feet and walked away. She turned her attention towards David, grinning slightly as she noticed the astonished look on his face. He looked her up and down, obviously wondering if it was her that was really fighting back there.

That stupid look on his face was quickly wiped off when he noticed the cut on her arm though. She looked down at it, frowning slightly as she realized they cut her favorite jacket. "Dammit this was my favorite too!" No matter, she could always get another one. "I'm fine, it's not a deep cut or anything." She had worse wounds than this after all. She looked up at him for a moment before looking back towards the ground. "Thanks for helping me..." It came out as a low mumble, but loud enough for at least him to hear it.

Hearing Lucia start complaining that it was her favourite jacket made him smirk, obvious she was either in shock, or just use to the pain, but either way it wasn’t bothering her. Still David was slightly concerned about it, woman shouldn’t be able to do what she just did, woman shouldn’t have to be in situations like that getting into trouble like she had just done. That… that was one of the many reasons why women were trouble in David’s mind. Lucia continued on saying it wasn’t bad, that it wasn’t deep which made David not worry as much about the situation. Next thing that she said David smirked at, almost laughed because it was something she didn’t want to say but said anyway. David shrugged it off as if it was nothing, “Meh… Mario accepted you into the family, you live and die for the family no matter what,” David explained he reasoning’s, the honour code among mafia families. “Just don’t go searchin’ out for trouble, alright doll face?” David added giving a smirk and then readjusted his hat ignoring anything she may have said to retaliate the nickname.

“Now come on Pisano,” David said moving and placing his hand on Lucia’s shoulder directing her in the direction he was originally walking. “Let’s get you cleaned up at my place and you can head off to where ever the hell you were going at this hour,” David explained his reasoning’s, “And I’m not takin’ no for an answer.” Walking with Lucia it didn’t take long to get back to laundry mat and Chines place where down the alley and up the stairs they went. Getting into the apartment David turned on the lights and waited till Lucia was in the place before shutting the door. “Sinks in the kitchen I’ll go get yeah some bandages,” David instructed as he shrugged off his own jacket and placed it on the coat rack, placing his hat up on top. David ran his fingers threw his hair ruffling it as he headed to the bathroom pulling the mirror to show a medicine cabinet full of everything actually needed in case of injuries.

Giving a soft whistle David pulled out the basics and carried them to the kitchen placing them on the sink counter for Lucia to do her own work. “There… no need for stiches if it ain’t deep,” David commented taking a quick look at it noticing that she was right, it wasn’t that deep. “So where you headed? … if you don’t mind me asking,” David added knowing by now the woman wasn’t one to be backed into a corner and that giving her away out would most likely be the best way for her to answer. Going over to the fridge, David opened it up sticking his head into it looking for something to maybe munch on, the first item he pulled out he was pretty sure was once bacon that had gone bad making him make a face at the smell and sight of it, the next place it was put was in the trash that would most definitely would need taking out in the morning. His second trip in David pulled out an apple which seamed in good shape for eating as he began to munch on it, shutting the fridge door and pulling up a seat at the small table there in the kitchen.

The man was playing the good guy for now, and it only made Evelyn roll her eyes slightly. They died and lived for the family was it? That was something that never happened with the C.I.A. If someone died there was nothing they could do but move on. Though like family to her, she knew that if someone died they were forgotten. Their existence was erased from the earth, never to be known of again. Just thinking about it made her look down for a moment. Now that she thought about it she never did have a place to call home.

Pushing that out of her mind the woman only followed David towards his apartment, not really wanting to go with him. "I don't look for trouble; it looks for me." Which wasn't far from the truth. Trouble always seemed to find her even if she wanted to escape it. There was nothing she could do about it though which was the worst part of it. When asked where she was going in the first place the woman only shrugged her shoulders, not that thinking that he really cared. If he was going to get all suspicious of her again than she saw no need to really talk about it.

Soon enough they made it to his apartment and she headed into the kitchen, sitting there and looking at her torn jacket. The woman only frowned and slipped it off, running her fingers through the tear. Maybe she could sow it together or something. The woman rubbed her arms slightly, wishing she wore something under than a tank top under the jacket. Evelyn watched as David left, rummaging through what she supposed was the bath room. He came back out with some first aid supplies, which she only took gratefully.

When he handed her the things she placed them down on the counter, grabbing a few cotton balls along with a bandage. She soaked one of the cotton balls in water and cleaned off her wound with that. Once that was finished she put neosporin on the wound to make sure it didn't get infected. Finally she placed the bandage over it, turning her bright eyes towards David who was rummaging through his fridge. She only wrinkled her nose when she noticed the rotten bacon. Goodness did this boy keep track of anything?

It seems he just went with an apple, and Evelyn could only stare at the fridge with a wary look on her face. She wondered how often he cleaned out. No doubt there was fungus growing in there. "I was heading to the bar and bumped into those guys." She informed him with a shrug of her shoulders. "So um...I guess I should apologize for giving you a hard time." She wasn't out right apologizing, so she merely left it at that, looking away from the man.

Sitting back in the chair he relaxed and simply watched the woman go to work washing her wound that she managed to walk away with. David was surprised really, the girl was stronger than she looked, and the little tough exterritorial that she showed was more than just skin deep, it went deeper than that, that was for sure. Still David didn’t like the feeling his gut was still giving him, she was good, some could consider perfect. She was a beautiful woman who could fight and shoot, a mobster’s dream girl… well for the ones who like a woman of action and preferred the mouth of a woman. Still… how did she ever gain those skills, even men who came into the business fresh of the street weren’t that good, and some had never even fired a gun before.

Lucia at least spilled the beans on where she was headed where David just shrugged it off, that wasn’t suspicious in anyway and was most likely the truth. David couldn’t see her be the kind of woman who would have gone home to practice her quilting or whatever the fairer sex did in the evenings home alone, a drink did seam her kind of pace. The next thing that came out of her mouth David was actually… surprised at, she was apologizing for giving him a hard time. Now that seemed a little out of character but maybe it was the whole being under attacked by three large men in a dark alleyway that did it to her. Either way David allowed that one to slide, he figured the polite spell wouldn’t have lasted to long so that it would be best for him to take advantage of it while he could. “Uh… suppose it wasn’t all your fault,” David played along in a rather relaxed tone as he took a break from the apple. “Not exactly used to this kind of arrangement,” David chucked it up as, as he went back to crunching on the apple. So it wasn’t an apology, apology, but neither was hers and to be honest it was the best David could have done at the moment. “Haven’t had the best track record when it comes to woman either,” David admitted as he took the final bite of the apple and got up to throw out the core.

Walking over to the sink and closer to Lucia, David looked down at her arm and the wrapped bandage. Gentle he lifted her arm up and straight out to get a better look to see where she had wrapped and looked at it for a moment thoughtfully before giving a good solid nod and letting her arm drop again from taking away his own hand. “Done this before,” David simply stated before grabbing the medical supplies that he had brought out, piling them in his arms before taking them back to the bathroom to put them away. “Should take two weeks, three tops to heal… if you keep the bandages fresh but… sure you already knew that,” David commented on from in the bathroom before coming back out in the open standing in the doorway of the kitchen. “So, need anything else?” David asked standing there looking at the woman, “Got any questions or anything I could help you out with?” David tried his best with kind of bonding but once again when it came to woman he wasn’t exactly sure what way to go about it, men where always easier.

For a moment Evelyn wondered if apologizing was such a good idea after all. David looked rather shocked to hear her apologize, not that she could blame him or anything. She would have been just as surprised if in his position. Still, the least he could do was either yell at her or be thankful for the apology instead of sitting there like some kind of idiot. After a while he claimed it wasn't all her fault, going so far as to say he wasn't used to the arrangement. She only raised an eyebrow but said nothing of it. She supposed they all had a kind side to them. It was just buried rather deep under these mafia men.

Now she understood why he was such a pain in the a** to her. He didn't have much luck with women. No doubt the women in the past were either prostitutes, or some kind of trash off the streets. She doubted any woman with class would date a mafia member. At least, the ones that weren't looking for danger would never date one of them. Most of the woman that did go for these kinds of men were either dangerous themselves or were just looking for money. There were a few in the C.I.A, but they didn't last long. in fact most of them died with in the last few weeks of dating them.

The thought of being one of those girls only made Evelyn frown slightly. The last thing she needed was to either get caught or get too comfortable with these men. Ah, no matter she doubted she would get comfortable to begin with. She flinched slightly when he moved her arm a bit to get a better look at it. She only glared at him for a moment, wondering why the hell he was touching her arm. Apparently he worked with these kinds of things before, so he only placed it down and told her how long it would heal and what not.

Hearing him only made her chuckle slightly. She knew exactly what would happen since she had worse wounds than this. A day at a week, maybe three weeks at the most for it to heal. Sadly it would leave a small scar on her arm, but if one were to look closely she had quite a few scars running down both of her arms from knife battles in the past. Standing up she headed to the door of his apartment, looking back at him as he asked if she had any questions. The girl pursed her lips, thinking if she had anything else to ask him.

Did she? Now that she thought about it she did have one question. A real smile made it's way on her face. It wasn't one of those fake smiles, though why she was giving him such a smile was a surprise even to herself. "Will you still be working with me? If so, I look forward to it. You aren't that bad, for some gunslinger that is." She informed him while leaning against the door frame.

David watched Lucia as she thought long and hard to such a simple question where a simple childish thought of wondering what she would do if it was a hard question she asked. Yet still he waited till he saw this… smile come across her face that was rather pleasant and almost glowing, a very natural one it seamed and the question slightly caught him off guard but yet in a good way. Was he still working with her, the answer was yes, yet if you had asked him an hour before he would have cursed that idea and would have done anything to get out of it. Still maybe it was the flattering thought of gun slinger that got caught in his head, or that actual smile on her lips that made a crocked smile come to the corner of his mouth as he gave his head a small and slight nod. “Yeah… you’re stuck with me for now doll face,” David admitted with a slight chuckle in his voice.

“Mario will most like still be at Jimmy’s if you need drinking company but either way I’ll see you tomorrow at that Dinner I need to go and pay the nice man for our coffee’s we had today,” David said moving more onto business plans. “Either have way have a good one Pisano,” David wished the girl on her own personal indevers waiting till she was out of the apartment before going back to his own personal business. Looking around the apartment it was indeed a mess, something that he didn’t mind living in but still… it made him look lower class then he actually way, and the proof was easy to see looking into the fridge. A quick sweep threw of the house he started to throw more things in the trash, old newspapers, more rotten food.

Finishing his own small cleaning spree the apartment went from pig sty to comfortable living hole in the wall. David smiled at himself, it was once again cozy and welcoming, even for himself, reminding him of the apartment that he grew up in. Going to his room David went back to business as he went to the safe and opened it up pulling out some more files, reading them over and then pulling out wads of cash starting to count off how much he had, checking to make sure he had enough to cover his own a** if it came to the point he had to pay for the deal he had made earlier that day. He frowned noticing he was a few grand off, cursing silently, now he was really banking on Mario making sure that he paid so it wouldn’t have been on David’s a**.

Being stuck with him for a while wasn't exactly a bad thing now that she thought about it. He called her doll face which only made Evelyn roll her eyes. She reached out and gave him a playful punch to the arm, though making it hard enough to possibly bruise. "Stop calling me doll face. The name's Lucia, got it?" She gave him a stern look, but there was still that smile on her face. At this point she could have cared less what he called her. So long as it wasn't anything too vulgar.

Drinking sounded like a wonderful idea, but even she knew her limits. Drinking at this point would have been bad for her since she tended to get into trouble when drinking. Shrugging it off she figured going home would be her best bet. At least there she could drink in peace without the thought of getting into any trouble. Having a drinking buddy was always nice and all, but she didn't exactly trust Mario yet. She sure as hell didn't trust David either, so going drinking with them was most certainly out of the question.

She turned on her heel, waving a good bye towards David. "You too Mancini." With that she walked out, her hands behind her head as she made her way home. It was a bit of a walk, but she didn't mind. Walking was always nicer than being stuck in some stuffy taxi. Night was falling and by now she could only yawn. Once she got to her apartment she locked the door behind her and pulled out a bottle of whiskey. She grabbed a shot glass and filled it, drinking quite a few before she laid her head on the table.

The room was spinning but she didn't care. She only got a few glasses of water and chugged those down in hopes that it would help with the hang over she was going to have the next day. Rubbing her eyes; Evelyn walked to her bed, not bothering to change as she slipped under the covers. The girl pulled the covers over her head and was out, snoring like there was no tomorrow. She had forgotten that the mafia probably knew where she lived now, and no doubt they would be calling her up in the morning, but of course that was the least of her concerns at the moment.

After a few shots of Jack, David's head hit the pillow very willingly as the ideas and small worries of his own a** on the line disappeared. The sleep was welcoming after a long day like he had, it was a lot of work going around making business deals, making sure the cops stayed out of their hair, and drinking… the drinking and gambling in a mobster's life was always ‘work’. Waking up in the morning it started like just about every other day, a pounding in his head making him go for once again a little more hair of the dog. It could be seen as a vicious cycle, every night going to bed drunk and waking up to only be poisoned by the alcohol once again. Still it was a lifestyle that David didn't mind, if truth had been known it was the only lifestyle he had ever really know. Getting dressed that morning for some reason David took his time, making sure he pulled out a clean suit, took the time to do his hair, and making sure he looked presentable. David wasn't sure why he was taking his time, maybe the idea of actually having to work with a woman that day made him want to look presentable, working with a woman was going to take time to get used to.

Doing as said, once David was ready he grabbed his keys and headed down to the diner. Walking into the diner David was slight luck, the kid who had served David and Lucia was working. Walking to the kid while pulling out a hundred dollar bill, the kid looked panicked and flustered but before he could muster out any actual form of the word, David slipped the bill into the kids hand while shaking and saying "So… sorry about yesterday, I think that should cover the bill, eggs and coffee would be great by the way,” David explained leaving the bill in the kids hand and pulling away before taking a seat on a bar stool up at the counter grabbing a nearby newspaper to read. He wasn’t sure when Lucia would get there, but he did tell her morning, plus with no food in his fridge now, he had to eat somewhere and it might as well have been the dinner.

Getting up was a lot harder than Evelyn had first thought it would be. She groaned and slipped out of bed, her head pounding harder than it should have been. That was what she got for drinking the night before though. Shaking her head she moved slowly to the bathroom to wash her face. Once she splashed cold water onto her face all the pain seemed to disappear. Looking at her reflection in the mirror she could only frown. Gosh she looked like a tired wreck! No doubt from all the stress of attempting to expose the mafia.

Taking a shower she got changed and dried her damp hair to the best of her ability. Putting on a simple shirt along with a skirt. The woman wasn't in the mood to really dress up, nor did she feel like applying make-up like every other woman. It wasn't like she was trying to impress anyone. Plus, her natural beauty was better than her beauty with make-up on. Walking out of her apartment the woman locked the door, looking around for a moment to make sure no one was watching her or anything. She had her purse in hand, her gun hidden in there.

One could never be too careful especially if they were a C.I.A agent. Since she didn't feel like making breakfast the girl figured she would head over to the diner that she was at yesterday. The little cafe was always open anyway, and she knew the manager over there. They were always kind to her but after that incident yesterday that could have all easily changed. Shrugging she only headed down there, taking in the fresh smell of coffee and pastries as she walked in. Looking around the girl raised an eyebrow as she caught sight of David.

Of all the people in the world she wasn't expecting him to be there. Walking over to the waiter she asked for some coffee and one of their famous breakfast pastries. The boy happily got it for her while she moved to take a seat across from David. "Wasn't expecting to see you here." She noted, looking him up and down for a moment with a smile on her face.
