Takeshi Nakamura

Hate lives in a small town

Unless you're just like them

Takeshi got up and got the dust off his clothes, before joining them towards the car. "I guess we should hurry then." he said, he wasn't going to skip the whole day after all, he felt good and bad a the same time, part of him just wanted to stay there and sing with them, but the other wanted to go and attend the for rest of the day.

When Tanya made him look at the message, he looked as surprised as all of them, he didn't expect Harris Clark of all people to be that understanding, it made him wonder if there were some good under his seemingly annoying personality "He's not that bad after all, I expected some of the others to be more understanding than this. Especially the ones who are your best friends." he said as he gave her the cellphone back. He still didn't get why everyone from that city had trouble letting go, but he was happy things were untangling on their own.

"I think this thing will go away faster than you think." he said as he hugged her and headed to the car.

Tanya smiled as she slipped her phone back into her purse. "Nic and Harris were never really that bad. Sure, they might've had the whole 'heartbreaking player' thing going, but when there was no one around that they had to maintain the image for, they were pretty cool guys. And they were smart enough to leave the drama to the girls. There were a few times where I couldn't help but wonder why they acted the way they did, but after two years at Parrsboro, I've learned that most people have their school self and their real self. Nic and Harris' real selves were quite different from their school selves."

She thought back to when she had still been rather new to the group. They'd all been at a party on one of the nearby beaches, and there had been lots of kids from other schools there. She hadn't known too many people, and at one point she'd had enough of awkward, forced conversations. She decided to just go walk along the shore. A guy from another school, obviously piss drunk, had started harassing her, and she was having a bit of a hard time getting him to leave her alone. Harris and Nic had been nearby, and it didn't take them long to come over and intimidate him into leaving the party altogether. Tanya wondered if they still remembered that.

"I'm really not surprised that the girls were quick on the offensive, to be honest. I would've been, too. If it looked like someone I'd grown apart from started messing with you guys, I would waste no time telling them off about it," she said, looking at Casey, Vikki and Takeshi as she spoke. "If someone messes with one of us, they mess with all of us, that's the way it should be."

Casey smiled at her. "Always."

"We're like the Three Musketeers. Bitches love musketeers," Vikki said jokingly, draping an arm over Tanya's shoulder and the other around Casey's.

"I guess we have four musketeers, now, though," Casey said, smiling at Takeshi.

Vikki pondered this for a moment. "I guess we'll have to come up with a new analogy, then. Takeshi, you are now an honourary musketeer until we figure out what we are," she said with a triumphant smile as Casey went around unlocking the doors of the car. He walked over to the trunk and placed his guitar in gently. "What awesome groups are there with four people? And not the Fantastic Four, they are nowhere near awesome enough."

Takeshi listened to her talk about friends, he always thought that the rich kids had only that annoying personality, there was a lot he didn't understand about that small town where everything had two faces, and pesonality "I really don't get it, why does it have to be like that? I mean, I'm just Takeshi, take it or leave it, why do I have to be someone else to please people who are being someone else? This makes no freakin' sense." he said, wondering if that's what it would have been like if he had gone to Parrsboro high from the beginning.

Vikki's comment about the three musketeers made him laugh, he liked the reference "They had an extra one in the movie about the man in the iron mask, so I guess it;s not problem then, I'd be like that until we come up with a better name. The only cool group with four people I can think of is the four horsemen of the apocalypse, but that sounds like something my old friends would pick" he had always thought that Vikki and Casey were her real friends.

"Let's go eat then, and I think the name will come up on its own." he said. He was feeling happy inside that her friends accepted him as one of them, he didn't want to be the intrusive boyfriend that nobody liked.

They did make it back on time for class, albeit a bit begrudgingly, and had managed to slip into the general rush of class change without being noticed by any teachers and questioned on why they had missed first block. On her way to Biology, Tanya could feel the stares, hear the whispers and the snickers. Assholes. What did they think they knew? She kept a tight grip on her books and just kept walking, her face as stoic as any other person on their way to class. She was not going to let Vanessa win; this was not going to get the best of her.

Tanya was glad that she usually sat near the back of her Biology class. People couldn't very well turn around to stare at her without the teacher calling them out for not paying attention. She took the notes and wrote down the assignment in silence, knowing that even though their eyes weren't on her, people were still very aware of her, passing notes under tables and whispering to each other.

Lunch could not come quickly enough. Tanya rushed straight to her locker, grabbed her coat and went straight to her car, texting Takeshi and Casey to meet her there. A few seconds later, Casey replied,
I'm gonna have to duck out, T. I've got a band piece I really need to practice. You and Takeshi have fun though :]

Tanya read it and sighed. She couldn't help but wonder if that was the real reason he wasn't going. She knew Casey had a hard time seeing her and Takeshi together, and even though he was trying realy hard not to let it show, there was still that little bit of tension whenever they were in the same room together. Still, he was trying, the way a real best friend would. She tried not to think about it as she waited for Takeshi.
