Tanya smiled as he pulled her closer, kissing his cheek lightly. "They did, didn't they?"

Casey and Vikki stood up, Casey muttering something about not wanting to go to Band, Vikki making a similar statement about Social Studies. Tanya shook her head at the two of them. "Come on, guys, two more classes and you're free."

"Two more long a** classes," Vikki complained.

"Totally feel like skipping third."

"Don't skip third. If you skip third block, you'll skip fourth block, and that's a breach of our agreement. I didn't skip a single Chem class, so you're not allowed to skip English."

Jay stood up and shrugged. "I think I'll just head to my English class and pretend that I don't hate that stupid book."

"What're you guys reading right now?"

"The Grapes of Wrath," he answered disdainfully.

"Have fun," Tanya said sarcastically as she stood up. She looked over at Vikki. "I'll see you in Social, I have to stop by my locker to grab my textbook." She took Takeshi's hand and smiled at him. "Walk me there?"

Takehi looked at them and smile "Don't we all? The weather is kind of nice today, It's a shame we have to spend it inside, but I don't think it's a good decision to skip any classes." Before he had friends, Takeshi spent a lot of free time between classes napping on the bleachers in the sun, he even might have missed a couple of classes because he really fell asleep and didn't wake up on time.

"Sure let's go" he told her as he got up and followed her, he liked the feeling of holding her hands through the hallways, it was cute, he never imagined he would fall for her so hard, it has been a while since he had a real relationship. "I hope what I said earlier didn't offend you, I know these were past days, and I don't see them coming back. It's just... I had a feeling that none of you would judge me if I honestly said what happened, but I didn't expect to do it so fast." Although he explained things vaguely, it was obvious that he and Kiyo did some wild things on those lonely nights, and it was also clear that the accident with the newer student involved a baseball bat, since he said he wasn't allowed to play baseball anymore.

"Poor Jay, I bet this class would feel like an eternity. I don't like classes like that." he said as he leaned on the locker next to hers while she picked her things. He remembered the first day he showed up there, and how everything was kind of a shock to him, but things have changed and so has he, he just let go of the brown dye and the eccentric spikes he had in the first semester, he still dressed almost the same, but he looked cuter and more natural now. "Do you promise you will look extra stunning for me tomorrow?" he whispered to her as he walked her to her next class, he was really looking forward to that date.

Tanya smiled at him reassuringly. "Trust me, if I was offended, you would've known it. I'm just glad that you've put those days behind you. I guess hearing about it makes me a tiny bit worried out of instinct, but I know you're not like that anymore." She squeezed his hand lightly. "I'm glad you feel so comfortable with my friends, though. It's not often you see a guy trying to make that effort to be a part of his girlfriend's group, and I find it really sweet."

It was all by luck, too, she realized. Had she not met Takeshi at Savannah's party, she may not have met him at all. She probably wouldn't have given him her number that one day, and they wouldn't have started hanging out. It made her glad that she'd gone to that party at the beginning of the year. Thinking of her old friends made her miss them, though. As much as Casey and Takeshi wanted to think they 'did nothing', she'd had some fun times with that group.Oddly enough, Vanessa hadn't pestered her for the greater part of the week. She couldn't help but wonder why--not that she was complaining.

"Jay loves English, but that book is like... Well, it's a good story with a great message, but the way it's written puts me to sleep. It's a classic, but I couldn't finish it. Brave New World, on the other hand, that was an amazing book," Tanya spoke as she opened her locker to get her textbook. As they started walking, his comment made her respond with a sly grin. "Just wait until you see what I have planned; it'll be fabulous," she told him. "I'm usually more experimental with my style when I go out, so it'll be different from what you're used to seeing me in."

Takeshi smiled and didn't say much, he seemed content enough that she wasn't offended "I don't think they are coming back, but that doesn't mean that if someone hurts you they wouldn't regret it" he told her. he wasn't really making an effort to be in her group, they just felt like a little family to him "They're just...adorable. I like them a lot." he said with a small honest smile.

"English is fine, it's easy compared to some of the other subjects I have, but sometimes the stories get too long." he said, he just waited for her to pick her textbook, then walked with her.

"Surprise me." he told her with a grin, he was looking forward to see the new look. He walked with her to the class "I guess I should stop to pick my books too. I still feel like skipping, but I know I shouldn't." he said a little bored, he would have liked to do something outdoors. When they reached her class, he gave her a small peck on the cheek "So that's our last stop for the day. I'll see you after class, then I'll go to practice right after school." He told her before making his way to his own classes.

She smiled at him. "I have too many guy friends; If anyone hurts me, they've basically got a mob after them. I think my dad would be the one to worry about most, though," she said with a laugh. "I am his only baby girl, after all," she added with a shrug. She laughed and shook her head. Fathers were protective of their daughters by nature, but that didn't stop Tanya from making fun of hers once in a while.

When the subject of English was adressed, Tanya said, "It's my favourite subject, but that book is terrible. Really good, but really terrible. I do enjoy reading, though. To me no book is too long if it's interesting enough."

When they reached her class, she gave him a quick peck on the cheek before saying goodbye and heading into the room. She took her usual seat in front of Vikki and chatted with her friend before the lesson started.

((Okay then, on to Saturday! lol, is there anything that Takeshi needs to do in the morning/afternoon? What time was the date supposed to be happening? I want to take up a post or 2 w/Tanya getting ready.))

((Okay, so, I'm skippin to early Saturday evening. Sorry this took so long x.x))

Tanya had been putting a lot of thought into her outfit that day, and it was turning out pretty good so far. She hadn't gone out in a while, so she hadn't really been able to experiment with different looks. It was nice to be back in the swing of things. Her style at school was rather average, jeans and a nice top, maybe a minidress with leggings, nothing too eccentric--for convenience mor than anything. However, Tanya usually wasn't so simple on days like this.

She loved taking inspiration from more retro looks, and this outfit was definitely rooted in the 1950s. A white rockabilly top, short sleeved and form fitting with a cherry pattern showed off her curves, dipping low enough to show a bit of cleavage, though not enough to make anyone--herself included--feel uncomfortable. The top was tucked into a high-waisted black skirt, also curve hugging while making her waist look smaller. The skirt ended a couple inches above her knee. The outfit was more flirty than risqué, which was what she was going for.

Tanya had a pair of dangling cherry earrings, which she had scoured her jewelry collection for only to find that her mom had borrowed them and forgotten to return them. It wasn't unusal, really; Maria and Tanya went through each other's jewelry often. Then came one of the important decisions: shoes. After a few minutes, she selected a pair of red heels that were about three inches high. She slipped into the bathroom attatched to her room afterward to do her makeup. She kept it pretty simple, cat eyes and matte red lips, a bit of blush to give her cheeks some colour. Her hair had been done up in a very 50's-reminiscent style, and Tanya couldn't help but laugh a little. (1/2)

"I look like a pin-up," she said to herself.

"Most demure pin-up I've ever seen," her mother's voice sounded from the doorway. Tanya smiled and looked over at her mom. "You like it?"

"I love it. It's classy, but subtly sexy; you're sure to leave him speechless," Maria answered. "Do I get to meet him?"

"Of course, Mom. Unless he's running super late and we have to go as soon as he shows up." She smiled and glanced at herself in the mirror again and walking out, her mother already ahead of her.

Takeshi spent some time after the shower deciding on what he would wear, it was rather unusual for him, since he wasn't really known for his style diversity. He wasn't really sure how he wanted to look like. His usual attire always made him look like a J-rock star wannabe with his tight clothes and anime character like hair.

He finally picked a tight white shirt with black jeans and a black jacket, it didn't really look all that different, but Hitoki said it was okay. "Just be careful with the overall look, you sometimes go overboard" he told him. He wouldn't admit, but he was a little worried, it was the first time he arranged a date and he wondered if everything would go well.

Kiyo hasn't said much but advised him not to be so worried, he said it shouldn't be so difficult since they were already friends, if he didn't think it was date it would go smoother, he also commented that he wanted to meet her someday, which got Takeshi a little surprised.

He called the restaurant for the last time to confirm the reservation, then took the car and headed to her place, he stopped on the way and picked some pretty roses up. When he arrived there, a little early, he looked at himself for one last time in the rear view mirror, he could see his real brother looking back at him, he had grown up to look really like him, he stared at his brother's ring in his finger "Everything turned out okay in the end, I wish you could see me now." he thought before he headed to her door. He knocked the door and waited for an answer.

Tanya and Maria were sitting in the kitchen talking before Takeshi arrived.

"You're nervous," the doctor told her daughter. Tanya had been fidgeting and looking around a lot, something that Maria knew meant she was anxious.

"A little," Tanya admitted, looking down with a sheepish smile.

"Well, don't be," Maria said, tilting Tanya's head back up and giving her an encouraging smile. "From what you've told me about your relationship, you two were close even before you started dating. You don't have to make a first impression, honey, he already knows you. Just relax, be yourself and enjoy the night."

There was a knock on the door, and Tanya stood up as soon as she heard it. "Deep breath, Titanya. Relax," Maria said as she went to answer the door, Tanya close behind her.

Maria answered the door with a smile. "Hello there. You must be Takeshi, please, come in." She took a step back to let him in. "I'm Tanya's mother, just call me Maria." She offered her hand with a warm smile.

Takeshi shook her hand with a smile, he was a little nervous "Yeah, that's me, pleased to meet you Maria...sensei." he told her, he knew she was a doctor from his brother and calling her just Maria seemed quite odd, even if she insisted on it, that's not how things went in his family.

When he stepped in he saw Tanya, she looked gorgeous in her 50's style outfit. He smiled at her and gave her the roses "I got you these, though they will never be as pretty as you are." he told her, the presence of Maria still made things a little uncomfortable although she seemed so kind.

They were still a little early, leaving him some time to stay before dinner, but he got really nervous that he couldn't even start a conversation " he asked her, he knew it wasn't the best of things, but he couldn't really do anything private, hug or kiss her in front of her mom. "I didn't expect her mom to open the door for me, why didn't I expect that? Kiyo's mom opens the door all the time. Calm down, calm down" he thought, but they could notice how awkward he felt.
