Dexter looked over Claire's shoulder at the seashell. "Oh... It's pretty!" He said, smiling. What? He's never seen a real seashell before.

Gwen took off her shoes, setting them in the sand next to Claire's. She walked down to the small slope and to the water, standing so the waves washed right up to her feet.
Claire smiled. "Yeah.. and there's probably a bunch more down the beach.. This was just the first one I saw.." She handed the shell to Dexter to he could look at it and then walked onto the wave line. The water washed onto her toes and she giggled.
Dexter inspected the shell, smiling. He put it into his pocket and looked down at the ground, spotting another one... and another.... and another...

Dexter made his way slowly to Claire and Gwen, picking up seashells along the way. By the time he got to them, he had at least 30 shells, mainly the smaller ones, balenced in his palms. "I found more!" He said, smiling widely and holding them out to show Claire.

Gwen looked at the pile of seashells in Dexter's hands and shook her head a bit.
Claire laughed a bit at him. Dexter was like a little kid... "I guess you really haven't ever been to a beach before.." she remarked, staring at his pile of shells. Then, she smiled at him and motioned for him to stand by her and Gwen so he could feel the waves.
Dexter knelt down, setting his pile of seashells into the sand. He then stood next to Claire, watching as the waves washed up the sand. Naturally, as it got closer to his feet, Dexter steped backwards. Once the water washed back, he steped forward once again.

Gwen turned her head to the side, watching the process of Dexter avoiding the water several times.
Claire watched him as well.. and after a few more moments of avoiding the water, she let out a nervous laugh. "Uhm.. Dexter?" she began. "What are you doing?" Seriously, even she was at a loss on this one.
Dexter looked up at Claire, "Huh? Oh! The water...." He said, backing up once again as the water washed it, "It'll get my feet wet... I don't like being wet...." He said, he steped forward again and smiled.

Gwen shook her head once again, "That's the point of standing out near the waves though... Is so you get your feet wet..." She said.

Dexter shrugged and with that, he took another step back.
Claire stared, gave another nervous laugh, and shook her head like Gwen. "Uhm... ok..." was all she could think to reply. After a few more moments, she walked out of the waves and back onto the sand, frowning as the sand stuck onto her feet. It's not a very comfortable feeling, after all... "So Dexter.." she said, trying to break the silence, "Uhm.. what do you think of the beach?"
Dexter smiled and nodded, "I like it!" He said. "But..." He looked around at the seemingly endless stretch of sand. "I think it needs more flowers*...." He looked back at Claire.

Gwen laughed a bit, "Whats up with you and flowers?" She asked.

Dexter shrugged, "I like them." He mummbled. There's nothing wrong with liking flowers, is there?

(*Like... Two cubic tons. )
Claire tilted her head to the side a bit. "Yeeaah..." she said, trying not to laugh at him. She knew why he wanted flowers but.. still. It was a kind of girly statement. Oh well. Standing in the sand, she twisted her legs until her feet were completely covered in sand, then wiggled her toes to make them visible.
Gwen sighed. She liked the beach but... It was getting really bright. She rubbed her eyes, walking away from the water now.

Dexter knelt down in the sand, begining to pick up his seashells again. He stacked them in his hand.
Claire glanced at Gwen, lowering her eyebrows in concern. "Are you ok, Gwen?" she asked her roommate. She just assumed Gwen had something in her eyes or something..
Gwen looked up at Claire, "Yeah... fine.. just... the sun..." She said, lowering her hands from her eyes. "It's really bright and all."

Dexter looked up at Gwen, "You don't really look so good..." He said, he put back down all of his seashells and stood back up.

Gwen shrugged, "It's nothing... it's just bright..." She said.
Claire frowned, beginning to get worried. "A-are you sure? We can go back inside.." she sugested. It would suck if Gwen got like.. some kind of heat stroke or something and passed out.. Better to get her inside then stay out here.. "There's not much to do out here, anyways.."
Gwen shrugged, "I guess we could go inside..." She said, she rubbed at her eyes again.

Dexter looked at Claire, "I think we should get her inside..." He said.

Gwen gave a loud sigh, "I told you I'm fine, It's just bright out here."
