Jean chuckled lightly and stood up. "I'll be right back."

"All right," Maes returned with a grin, and Roy just nodded slightly.

Jean smiled and removed his cigarettes from his pocket, then walked away.
|

Both men watched the blonde walk away before they began conversing with each other.
|

Jean returned a few minutes later, then sat down where he had previously been.
|

Roy stood abruptly when the other man returned. "I think I'd best leave now. Enjoy your picnic."
"Roy...," Maes sighed heavily, but the former just shook his head and began walking away. "I'll see you tomorrow, Havoc," he called over his shoulder. |

Jean blinked and looked to Maes. "...Did I do something wrong?" he asked quietly.

|
Maes smiled gently and shook his head. "He just didn't want to leave Riza alone for too long, is all," he returned softly.

"But he left as soon as I came back..."
|
|
|
"He didn't want to leave without saying bye. It was nothing to do with you," Maes assured and smiled.

Jean bit his lip and looked to Maes quietly.
|
|
|
Maes chuckled. "It wasn't to do with you, Jean, really! I would tell you if it was."

"...Really?"

|
|
Maes nodded and smiled. "Really," he insisted then kissed Jean briefly.

Jean blushed and kissed him back.
