Maes smiled and continued but parted when the phone began to ring. "Sorry, Jean...," he apologised before parting and picking up the receiver. "Hello? ...Yeah... All right. I'll be right there." He then put the receiver back in its cradle then sighed. "I'm really sorry, Jean, I have to go..."

[Teddy Bearr x3]

"...It's fine, Maes," he sighed, then offered the man a weak smile. "Good luck."

[Princess Noshwash]

"I'll see you when I next can...I'm so sorry. I love you," he smiled then put down his coffee and moved to the door.

[Teddy Bearr x3]

"...I love you, too."

[Princess Noshwash]

"I'm so sorry. I'll see you when I next can. I'll squeeze in time whenever I can," he promised as he opened the door.

"Bye, sir."

[Princess Noshwash]

"Bye, Lieutenant," Maes returned sadly before leaving the room.

Jean sighed and finished his own coffee, then left to put the mug away.

Roy waited for his lieutenant outside of headquarters just before the predetermined time.

Jean smiled sadly as he approached his colonel. "Hey, chief..."

"Are you ready to go?" Roy asked when he sighted Jean.

Jean nodded silently.
