              How did we get here?

      The weather was dark and gray; typical weather for the Washington peninsula. Perfect weather for some other beings too. Although Forks was a place of too much green, and not enough other earthy tones, the teenager learned to accept the flaws of this small town. Besides, everything that was good definitely weighed out all the flaws. The teenager loved her father to death, and even more so because he was able to give her the privacy that she had wanted, and not too many other parents would have have respected their child's wishes to be alone while they did their homework. She was not a lonely girl though; the teenager had a very protective boyfriend who wanted to watch out what was best for her. Sometimes she did not understand why he behaved the way he did sometimes; he certainly was not the all-American boyfriend that some fathers would have wanted their daughters to date, but he was perfect to the small framed teenager in every known way possible.

      Fair skinned hands covered the fair skinned colored face; the first day of a new year. The first day of her senior year, her last year of High School. Could her learning years already be coming to an end already? So much has happened in Forks; learning about her boyfriend's family, being chased down by a hunter, almost dying. All in one year, sometimes it frightened the teenager to know what could happen this year. Ignoring the fear, the teenager felt her small body getting out of the warmth of her bed. Walking slowly and carefully, the teenager made it over to her dresser; with her license on top saying her name.
      "Isabella Swan" is what was written on her liscense that had a pretty bad picture of her on it as well. She had gotten this taken at least two years ago; how different she probably looked now. Her brown hair had grown out, and her skin had probably gotten whiter because of the lack of sun up in the Northern part of America. As if she could tan while she was down in the south; Bella found herself getting out a pair of jeans, that should be clean, and just a plain old black long-sleeved shirt.

      Going through High School, you begin to learn that looks are not everything. Why should they be anyways; people should be there to learn something and make a better life for themselves, not to find their true love. Though, the teenager called Bella could not say that to anyone because she already found her true love. Edward Cullen, the teenager with a secret that no one could ever know. This was also the teenager that brought upon the hunter and the almost dying as well. It did not matter to the teenage girl, who brushed her began to brush her long brown hair, she still loved him. She would even turn herself into a vampire just to be with him forever.

      Love was a very powerful thing, you begin learn and experience what you would do for your partner.

      Bella never did dare to tell her parents about how she felt about the vampire who was her true love; never mind tell them that he was not even apart of the human race. All that love and wanting to marry him, would have to be for another time. Another place, and hopefully when Bella was in another form. She did not expect to change right at the end of the school year, (all though it would have been a nice of Edward to do for her as a graduating present) she just wanted to change sooner rather than later. Nightmares wanred her about her aging while her love did nothing of the sort. It was no fair for Bella, to keep growing older and older while her love was able to stay the same; beautiful and young.

      Charlie was already gone by the time the senior got down to the stairs. Her car keys were hanging up on the rack, but instead of taking her old red truck, that was basically like a monster on four wheels somehow surviving in this ever changing world, maybe someone would come and pick her up from her own home. Reaching up at one of the cabinets, Bella took down a box of cereal. Finding a bowl to poor the food into, she placed the bowl of food on the table and began to make her way towards the fridge. Pulling out the milk and pouring it on top of the cereal, she reached for a clean spoon from the sink.

      Placing the spoon in the bowl of food, she lifted the spoon up with care, making sure that she did not spill any of the milk onto the surface of the table. Her brown orbs scanned the bowl of cereal as she waited for someone to come through her door, to sweep her off her feet like before. Makings sure that she did not always have high hopes though, Bella found herself wondering if maybe taking her truck would be a better idea.

                  But how did we get here?
                    Well, I think I know.

Still as a statue the figure sat—as was his normal routine during the night time hours—watching the small figure lay tossing and turning on the bed. It was strange, watching the women-child sleep, but at the same time it brought him a strange kind of piece. He would never tell her this, but being away from her was almost heartbreakingly unbearable. Dark coal orbs hardly moved from the girl as time passed. He would have to feed soon. He knew this; the smell that surrounded the room sent a burning thirst down his throat every time he took in a deep breath. Night time was the only time he could see into her unprotected, unconsciously spoke thoughts. It was the one time he could kind of understand what was going on in her mind—as she was the only person that his ‘talent’ couldn’t touch…the only person that
he couldn’t hear their thoughts, so he hated to leave there to feed--but he realized it was a must.

Smiling crookedly he couldn’t help but let his mind run over the first few months they had known each other. It was so strange now to think he had ever wanted to stay away from the fragile girl who lay asleep on the bed. He would not give her what she wanted—he would not take her soul away from her. The thought alone made him grimace—she was too good, to pure, and no matter how selfish he was he would not take that away from her, no matter how much he wanted to hold onto her forever. It doesn’t matter anyway. he thought to himself. I won’t live much longer than her anyway sighing he shook his head. It was getting about the time that he would have to leave. He wanted to hunt before daylight—before he would see the girl again. Standing up he took in a deep breath, the burn was evident proof it indeed time to hunt. At least the monster didn’t bother him any longer—just the annoying burn to deal with.

He was out the window and over twenty miles away from the house in less than a few minutes time. Running was second nature to him, and the path he headed how he could almost make with his eyes close—no, he could make it with his eyes closed. He would go hunting, but first he needed to stop at his house to change clothes…Besides he thought he would see if his favorite sister—Alice—would like to go hunting with him.

Reaching the house he wasn’t surprised to see the small vampire waiting outside for him. We’re going hunting she thought rather than said. There really was little point in speaking out load when it came to Edward. Nodding once he headed upstairs to change before they both took off into the woods behind the house. They would hunt down a pack of elk, feed and be back in plenty of time before school.

Leaning against a tree Edward, already feed, watched as his sister stalked around in a manner that looked more like dancing than anything else. You’re picking her up again today. the bell like voice echoed in his head, causing him to sigh. “Yes.” He answered, though he knew it wasn’t really a question. When are you going to ma “Alice..” He growled cutting off her thoughts. He already knew where her thoughts were going before she finished them—the vision Alice had had was still clear as if he had just seen it. Bella, white as marble and eyes glowing red; she was wondering when he was going to give up and let Carlisle turn her. He wouldn’t—that vision would never happen. “I won’t allow that vision to come true…” He said stating his own thoughts, his voice cold and holding a sharp edge to them that make it clear he wasn’t going to have this discussion. The small figured sighed but pushed her thoughts elsewhere while she finished hunting.

~~~
Climbing into his Volvo he ignored the thoughts from Rose as he started out the drive. She was still bitter it seemed—he wondered when, or if, she would ever get over it. Probably not He answered his own question with a light chuckle. It was sad, but funny. Rose loved Emmett but she would have given it all up to have what Bella had, what Bella wanted to give up so that she could spend the rest of forever with Edwards—but that wasn’t all of it, that wasn’t what Edward found funny. What the Bronze haired male found funny was that Rose was jealous of Bella—jealous because, despite the fact she didn’t care for Edward any other way than a brother—Edward had found Bella beautiful when he had had no attraction at all to Rose. Rosalie was so vain.
The drive to the chef of polices house was short and familiar. Parking outside of the small two story house Edward cut the engine. Climbing out of his car he moved, faster than the human eye could see, to the door. No one was around so he seen no point in acting human. Knocking on the door he waited. He could hear the girl inside eating but he wasn’t so rude that he would just barge into her house—at least while she was awake. Shaking his head he had to remind himself—she knew he stayed now, it wasn’t strange—she wanted him there….even if that in itself was strange. He still couldn’t figure out why the human female would want him—a soulless vampire—to stay close to her. But he was thankful, if not a little sad at the same time, for it. He stood waiting, a smile on his face as he listened to her inside.
      Although she had been waiting for the knock at the door, the teenager did not anticipate that it would be at that exact second. Dropping the spoon onto the surface of the table and then giving out a light cough, to get out whatever food that could try and choke her later on in the day. She was sure that he heard her cough; the senes of a vampire were far more greater than any human. Was it a bad thing? No, not really. At least they would have been able to tell when something was wrong on the other side of a wall, and try to save whoever was getting harmed. Of course, with in the case of Edward's mind reading, he could not read his own partner's mind (which came in handy for her). It would have proven to be more difficult to find out if she was in trouble, compared to someone else.
      Was that the reason why he was so protective? Perhaps, but Bella did not mind it. The feeling of love made her not mind it, or maybe it was because she had never felt this way about someone else before. She never had this opportunity to feel like this with anyone else; Forks was a gift and a curse for her. It was a curse because she felt like all those years ago, she could escape it but it was her own desicion to move back here with Charlie. It was a gift because she was able to find the one person who was perfect to her in every way possible; she did not have to worry about being herself or what she could and could not do in the presence of him and his family; although some people in his family still did not seem to like the subject of their brother begin with a mortal girl.
      She did not have to stay mortal, they could easily change that.
      Bella found herself going towards the door to unlock it, and open the door to let her partner in. She opened it to see his crooked looking smile; the smile that he always seem to wear around her. That was the smile that was meant for her, and no one else. This would be the smile that would reassure her that everything was going to be alright one way or another. The teenager found herself returning such a smile, with a small smirk that appeared on her face. She turned around, to put away her dirty bowl and spoon, and to gather her things for school.
      It was amazing how dazzling one's face could be, and make a person forget almost everything that they were going to do. If he continued to dazzle her like that, Bella would have surely gone anywhere and done anything with him. All he would have to say it, and she would forever be his. Doing whatever with him, by his side all the time. What about Charlie and Renee? Well, she would have to find some other time to figure that out. You only are young once, well excluding vampires and such. Even though she knew that Edward opposed her of becoming a vampire, Bella felt that one day she would become a vampire, and when that happens- that would be the beginning of her life with Edward forever and ever; like all those silly children fairy tales you heard when you were younger.
      With her fair skinned hands, the teenager placed the dirty spoon and bowl in the sink as she made a mental note to come home and remember to wash the dishes and start cooking something for Charlie; well she had been doing this for quite some time so she was sure that anything would make Charlie happy. Grabbing her backpack with her hand, she returned back at the door, looking at the ever smiling vampire who continued to stand there; this made her happy. Having someone show up at her door to pick her up for school, well it was not even that idea, it was just the fact that she had found someone who loved her- Someone who loved everything about her, including her scent.
      "All set to go?" the teenager asked, making sure that he was ready to start driving to school. When in a car with her, Bella made sure that he was not speeding his way to school. Besides, nothing interesting really happens at school. All of her friends seemed to have grown away from her, and it was a new year. Maybe they would all come back, besides the summer was a very interesting time- for everyone.
      The teenager found herself unable to not stop smiling; could this really be happening? She was the odd girl from the south who was not the stereotypical southern girl. Tanned, blonde, blue eyed, but by the being she loved she had been accepted by him. How could she not help but smile now? Making their way to the car, is this how it would be all the time? Hopefully, well until High School was over, it would be like this every morning. He would come in his shiny Volvo, come up to the front door, and then together they would walk back to his car. He would walk a little faster than her, in order to open the door and be a real gentleman. After shutting it, he would drive out of Charlie's parking spot and then start the car and begin to drive towards school.
      Every morning he would ask what Bella was thinking; she did not mind answering this question because then it was able to bring up topics of discussion. If he read her mind, where would the surprise be? The teenager found herself happy that she was able to keep her thoughts protected by her boyfriend. She remembered that in order to find more information about the girl, that he had to go looking into other people's minds. Of course it was rude of him, to go searching through other people's thoughts, but it was what he had to do in order to find out more about the girl who sat in his car with him.
      Bella found herself looking outside for the moment, trying to gather all of her thoughts together. All she wanted was to take in this moment, but she knew this would never end. One day she would become like him, and together their love will last forever. She could not say that to him though, because she knew of what he thought about the whole turning her into a vampire. He did not like it, but it was not up to him-if Bella wanted to change then she could do it. She just needed to make sure it was alright with him if she was going to change, even though she knew that there were others in his family that wanted her to change right away.
      It wasn't fair, she had to stay human while he did not age.
      "The first day of school, the last day first day that I will have. It's kind of interesting... maybe it will be my last September 7th as a human too," Bella found herself saying as she looked back at Edward with her chocolate brown orbs. She starred into his golden orbs. She knew that the color of his eyes seemed to reflect his mood, she hoped they would not turn darker though. She did not want to upset him, but she knew that this was kind of a big thing. It needed to be discussed, but by the time they had reached school, she knew that they would be unable to talk about the whole changing into a vampire thing. Everyone at Forks High School did not even know the Cullen's secret- and none of them would ever know.
      Waiting in the car, Bella wanted for a response from Edward. From his voice or from the change in his eye color. Something that would keep her on her toes about what he was thinking. Too bad she was not a mind reader, because then this could have been much more easier on her half. The leather seats of the car seemed to be getting warmer, from her body heat, as she waited for a touch from the one she loved to cool her off. Although the weather was dark, it seemed like the summer air was here to stay for a little while longer; maybe a thunderstorm would happen later.
      Bella kept her breathing steady as she looked at everyone who passed the shiny silver Volvo, waiting to see someone wave to her. She had not kept in touch with many people from last year though, and maybe they had forgotten all about her. They certainly did not forget the members of the Cullen family though (and who could). Bella watched as most of the students, and some new students, took the time to gaze at the beauty of the Cullen family. The four members of the family had been making their way into the school building, and maybe the couple in the car should have been doing the same thing.
Edwards eyes narrowed as he listened to the girl talk. They were at school already but since she had brought up ‘that’ subject Edward was in no hurry to leave the car. He couldn’t have this conversation outside where wondering human ears might pick up on it. Even if it wouldn’t make since too them—he wouldn’t risk it. Closing his eyes he took a deep breath, the light burn running down his throat wasn’t as bad now as it had been, though it was still there. “Bella…” He said after a few minutes.
He hated having this conversation with her. Why couldn’t she just be happy and live her life normally? Well—as normal as one’s life can be when dating a vampire. It was this reason right here that Edward questioned himself… questioned if he was doing the right thing by staying with the girl. Leaving her would be healthier for her. Leaving her would mean that she would stay human—that she would go to college, get married, have kids and do all the things a human was supposed to do…Do all the things that Edward couldn’t. There were so many things he wanted her to have—and so many things he would never be able to give her.
Edward might not be able to give her everything he wanted to but he would give her what he could; college, cars, and most importantly—life. He would not take ‘that’ away from her too—he was already taking away from her so much as it was. Her life was one thing he would never budge on. Turning his glace towards her he tried to keep the glare out of his eyes—though he could tell he was failing.
“This will not be your ‘last first day’ you will have a lot of first days” He said coldly. “College, jobs, and whatever else comes with life he emphasized the last word, making clear that he had not wavered and that subject he wasn’t planning to. He knew Bella well, she wouldn’t give up on the subject, but neither would he. He may want to give her everything she wanted, but 'that' was not one of those things. He figured after a while she would try to find one of the others to do it for her, but his family wouldn’t go against his wishes—or at least he didn’t think they would. Esme wouldn’t, she only wanted Edwards’s happiness and if turning Bella would make him unhappy then she wouldn’t do it. Jasper and Emmett he was sure wouldn’t, they didn’t care either way and left it up to Edward…Rose was an absolute no. She wanted Bella to stay human. Carlisle he wasn’t sure about, but he didn’t figure he would do anything that would upset Edward. The only person he really had to worry about was Alice…She wanted Bella to be part of their family as much as Bella did.
But even with that he wasn’t that worried about it. Alice didn’t have the control—the will to do it. If she were to try she would only end up killing Bella, and that was something she wouldn’t do. She loved the human girl almost as much as Edward did—though the love was different it was just as strong.
She is still with Edward I see… The blond hair boy Mike thought as he walked by the car, bringing Edwards own thoughts back to the school. Still don’t see what she sees in him…He is so freaky… I bet I could please her better than he could. I bet she hadn’t even let him try, can’t see why any girl would want someone so freaky touching her like that…I would like to... his thoughts trailed off at that—more to images than actual thoughts—all of which held a slight smugness to them. Suppressing a growl Edward shook his head quickly, too quickly for the girl to catch.One of these days… Edward thought trying not to glare at the male that passed. How easy it would be to crush his bones, to throw him against a wall—not hard enough to kill him though.
Opening the car door he moved his way over to the passenger side door. “Come on; we are going to be late for class.” He said opening it for her. At least in class she wouldn’t be able to argue with him about it. Come lunch time was a different story, but for now he was free of this conversation. Maybe by then she’ll have decided to drop it for now, save it for another time. He could only hope.
      The body sat still, watching as people went by the car. So many people were beginning to show up now at the school now, and there in the silver shiny Vovlo sat a couple arguing about the future and what could be arranged. It was not that Bella wished to become a vampire because of the other additions that came with it; being absolutely beautiful, having greater senses, maybe she would not fall down as much anymore, and then being able to drink blood. That was the only thing she was worried about. What would happen to her if she could not adapt quickly enough? Shivering at the thought of that, she looked away from the group of people and towards her partner, he seemed a little mad.
      Yes, it was an issue that was not to be brought up at school, but it was an issue about life and, well a better life. Casting away any negative thought and plan that he had for her, she let out a sigh. Bella would drop the subject of turning into a vampire, for now. When lunch would come around, maybe she would bring it up again there. It was unfair though, Alice wanted her to become a vampire. His family, well most of them, wanted him to be happy. Bella made him happy, right? Would he be unhappy if she was different- she would not be completely different. The vampire lover vowed that she would not allow herself to fall into the darkness of being a vampire.
      A sigh escaped her mouth as she picked up her backpack from the floor and waited for him to open the door for her, like he always had done. There would be no more discussion as soon as she stepped out of the car, but there was always later. Chocolate brown orbs watched as one of her old friends, Mike, passed by the car. He couldn't hide what he was doing, looking into the car and probably seeing something that upset Edward. She could tell from the look on her partner's face that it was something that annoyed him. What a shame, it would have been useful for the teenager to have mind reading powers- to really see what people thought about her in this school.
      Edward said they all were amazed by her, because she was something new last year. Now she was with a Cullen, what did they think of her now? That no one else was good enough for her and only perfection? He was perfect for her in every way possible, and the others guys weren't. It was not that he was unbelievably beautiful, nor because he was a vampire, it was because he knew how to take care of her. Yes, he was protective, but Bella did not see that as a bad thing. After all, he was only looking after her and making sure she was safe all the time.
      As the car door opened, Bella found herself getting out. Placing her backpack on her shoulders and looking at the new faces who starred at her love; of course there would be whispers about the famous Edward Cullen. He was gorgeous beyond words, how could they not say anything? It did not bother Bella anymore, because she knew that he was hers, and she was his. There was still the little voice of jealousy when Rosaile was nearby though. The stories she heard, and the fact that she was the most beautiful woman, that Bella has seen. She was also a vampire, which was certainly a step up that Bella did not have- yet.
      "So, are you going to tell me what Mike was thinking when he walked by?" a whisper came from the voice of Bella, she was interested as the two made their way towards the small school building. Well, it was considerably small to some other schools that Bella had gone to in Arizona. She walked with Edward, waiting and wondering. Maybe he would not tell her until lunch, when they were sure that no one was around them that could have eavesdropped. Lunch seemed to far away though, and the thought of not knowing would annoying the girl all through the first half of school.
Taking Bella’s hand in his Edward began to walk—more slowly than even most normal humans. He could tell the girl wanted to talk and since the subject, for the moment, had been changed he felt the same. Though he didn’t like the next question much better than the first—Milks thoughts were always so—so shallow. It was almost like all he cared about was a girl’s body—which in a way was probably true. Sighing he shook his head. “He was thinking the same thing he always thinks….” He mumbled lowly the slightest hint of a growl in his voice.
It was hard not to get jealous of the blond; even if he knew that he had Bella for himself—that out of everyone Bella had chosen him. It was hard because he knew—in his cold silent heart—that the blond with his vulgar thoughts and shallow heart, would be better for Bella. Better for her because he could give her everything she might possible want. He would be able to love her with both soul AND body; something that Edward couldn’t—not that the thought had ever crossed his mind. Mike could give her a normal home, a normal life and even children. He could give Bella happiness.
Though the girl stated Edward made her happy, he couldn’t help but wonder—if something ever happened that he did change her—would she still feel that way in fifty years when she wanted a family of her own. He knew from his own family that it was hard on them. Esme adopted children because she wanted them, Rose resented Bella for wanting to give up something that she could never have—to give up the right to have children, to have a proper family. The thoughts depressed him—so he pushed them away and turned his attention back towards the girl. “But if you must know” He said with a sigh, sure Bella wouldn’t let this subject go until he told her. “He was wondering about our sex life…Thinking he would be better, and doubting that I have tried anything—which in that he is right, but not for the reasons he thinks.” The last part brought a smirk to his face.
He was sure—though he would never test it—that if he wanted too Bella wouldn’t deny him. Then again, he had been wrong on so many things before—but no matter—the chance to test that theory would never happen. Edward would never try, for more than one reason. First and most importantly was because he was very old fashioned. He would not take the girls innocents away so easily, he believed in marriage before sex—no matter what. The second was because he wasn’t sure what would happen. He could kill her in such an act and that was something he would never risk. Her life was more important than anything else.
“If you only knew what the boys in the school thought last year—still think actually” He said casting a glare off towards one of the random boys that was staring at her from across the yard who’s thoughts were just as bad as Mikes. Why did human males only seem to think of sex? Whatever happened to treating a lady with respect, kindness and honesty? Then again, Edward couldn’t really say that he was always one hundred percent honest with the girl either.
Wrapping his arm around her waist he pulled her close, protectively as they walked. As if anyone would be brave enough to approach her with him anywhere near anyway. He didn’t care; he was making sure that everyone realized, for the moment at least, that she was his. Over doing it Edward The thoughts of Alice rang through his thoughts as the two moved towards the crowd of people. Rolling his eyes he ignored her. Let her think what she wanted, he would do as he wanted. The humans aren’t going to hurt her, and she isn’t going anywhere. she continued on.
      The chocolate brown orbs of the teenager did not even see the boy's hand go for her own as they walked together towards the school. She could tell that he was walking much slower than normal, and she also knew that he hated going slow. Even walking, he seemed to want to move quickly- when you live forever why must you rush things? Bella was human, he would have to understand why she would want to rush certain events in her life, because before the two of them knew it she could be dead! That would not have been good for either of the two, and if she was to die what would Edward do?
      She shivered not at the temperature of the hand that touched her own, but the thoughts that entered her mind once more. She shook them out of her head though, trying to think of something more pleasant. THe human teenager knew her time of transformation was coming soon, maybe not within the next couple of hours, but fairly soon. Hopefully sooner than what Edward had in mind. (Which was making sure that she had a good and healthy time at College while he never aged with her, what fun would that be.)
      Her heard perked up when she heard her partner say something about what the blond was always thinking; Bella did not even understand what that was about though. She could not read minds, but she could tell when her friend was thinking something about her that annoyed her partner most of all. By now most of the students were already in the building, rushing to their first period classes and everything. The two love birds were seniors, well Edward was posing as a senior while the human teenager was actually a senior in this High School. He knew everything that they were learning, and Bella was sure that nothing was new to him. Except getting used to this whole human and vampire romance, but more people saw it as another couple in High School.
      "He was wondering about our sex life…Thinking he would be better, and doubting that I have tried anything—which in that he is right, but not for the reasons he thinks. His voice ran through the young girl's mind several times as she tried to grasp why in the world Mike would even think like that. Repeatedly she had turned him down, so Jessica would be happy. Bella was obviously happy with Edward, and could not be happier! That Mike, well the brown haired teenager knew he had liked her way more than she could like him; maybe it was a good thing that she could not read minds now. Who knows what everyone else was thinking.
      "I swear, if I ever met Mike in a dark alley one night he would regret ever thinking that but wait- you still remember what people thought about me last year?" The human girl asked, looking up at him as she continued to walk side by side with him. Making it closer to the school building now; turning her head was the hardest thing the girl had to do- and to look away from that face to see the building that was crowded with students and probably slippery floors from the shoes of students who walked on the grass. It had rained the night before the moist grass was probably tracked into the school.
      A cold hand came around her waist, but Bella enjoyed this sensation that her vampire brought to her; she belonged in his arms and no where else. With no one else- she was his, forever. No one and nothing would ever change that. WIth Edward always watching over her too, she was sure that he would never allow another human boy to touch her the way that he had touched her. Not in the sexual kind of way, yet, even though her own urges wanted him to touch her ever so badly. She had to learn how to control himself, like he had to control the beast within him that surely wanted her blood.
                  But how did we get here?
                    Well, I think I know.
I will be the one that's gonna hold you
I will be the one that you run to
My love is a burning, consuming fire
The light shiver the girl had given at the touch of his hand was a painful reminder of what he was, that the temperature of his skin was uncomfortable to her—something humans should rightfully stray away from. He had started to pull his hand away but changed his mind. It was pointless, besides he wanted her close. And when the school boys inner thoughts had started up that had only reinforced the want to hold her close.
A light smirked pulled across his lips as he listened to the girls talk. Her speaking of causing anyone any sort of harm was a humorous thought to him. She was so frail, small, and weak— he couldn’t really picture her doing much more than hurting herself. Really—if she wanted the other male hurt, Edward would happily do it for her. But he knew the girl didn’t really want that—even if she said it. Her nurture was too kind, to caring to actually want to harm anyone. If anything she was more prone to want to protect them than to harm them.
It was the question at the end of the statement that brought him out of the image of her trying to harm someone. Rolling his eyes he sighed at looked at her, his brow slightly raised. Had she honestly forgotten that unlike humans—he never forgot anything. Tapping the side of his head with his finger he smiled. “I tend to remember things better than others.” They were starting to get closer to the student body, so he hoped she would understand, or remember what he was so he wouldn’t have to explain in front of a large body of people that unlike her, he was a vampire and didn’t forget anything. Though—it would probably be a very humorous thing—watching the human’s small minds click and the fright take over.
“Anyways” He said offering her a smile.“We had better get to class, the others are already starting in, and if we don’t hurry we’ll be late” Moving a few inches away from her he started to class. He would have liked to have stayed close to her, liked to have continued to hold her, but he knew her distaste for the cold, and the fact that it was already cold without his help was something he couldn’t ignore. It was also something he had slowly gotten use to. Not really being able to touch her like he wanted.
With a little help from his charming looks and smile—he had managed to arrange that they had most of their classes together. He hated being apart from her, and unless he had to he wasn’t going to. Class was something he did to pass the time—being with her was something he had to do. They were two completely different things.
[[D;; that was horrid. ;-; And even I know it is. ;---;]]
No, you'll never be alone
When darkness comes I'll light the night with stars
Hear my whispers in the dark
              How did we get here?
                When I used to know you so well.
      The cold feeling left the body of the teenager as she watched him walk away from her; it was school that was keeping them apart for now. The warmth returned to the girl, but she knew that her body did not want to feel like this. It did not feel right, her mind told her that it was good for her now, because she was still human. It would not long now at all, just another couple of months. Then she would always feel like how her love felt, and there would never be anything that felt wrong again. Bella knew that Edward knew that this was wrong, love between a vampire and a mortal, but this love never felt wrong to her.
      Her chocolate brown orbs watched her love walk away as she smiled at him. She stood there for a couple of seconds, that seemed like hours to her. Watching his perfect body move away, she would rather still be with him then go to her first class of a new year. Why didn't they have any classes together, yet? Maybe as the day continued the couple would find out that they would have other classes together. Hopeful, the teenager began to walk in the other direction towards one of the buildings that had a big number on it.
      Bella's first class was World Literature; that class would basically look at literature from all around the world and from a distant past. Maybe Carlisle would know something about the works of writers from the seventeen hundreds- he was born in that century he probably knew some writers that would one day become famous. (They would already be famous because it is not the twenty-first century.)
      She made her way towards the classroom that was scheduled on the piece of paper that was sent home to her. Chocolate brown orbs watched as other seniors walked into the classroom that she would be going into in a couple of seconds. She recognized some of them, but not all of them. Mike was heading towards the same room as well; he had been in most of her classes last year. She did not mind Mike, but Bella knew that Edward did mind him. More than enough for Bella to mind as well; she would be friendly though, he deserved it- right?
      Walking into the classroom and sitting down in an empty seat, the teenager placed her bag down as she waited for the teacher to come into the classroom now. This year she did not have to introduce herself to the whole class, every period. Not that she had to do that last year, but she had to get a piece of paper signed by all of her teachers- this year she did not have to do that. She basically knew the ropes of the school, which made her happy to think about. The teenager took out a piece of paper and a pen, as she waited for the teacher to enter.
      Chocolate brown orbs could feel that someone was watching her; she had the feeling even more now because she was dating one of the school's best looking guys. She should be used to that though, because people looked at her the same way last year. She looked behind her, and there sat Mike starring at her. Lifting her hand and waving towards him, she noticed that Mike waved back; at least they were still friends. She turned her head back as the teacher walked in, late.
      Knowing that this class would be long and boring, Bella prompted herself nicely in the chair, trying to find a comfortable position for her to sit in until the hour was up. She could have her mind wander though, and let her think about the kind of things that Edward, nor anyone, could ever find out about. Her urges, and the fantasies. It was not fair to her, that she had to keep her human emotions under control, but she knew that Edward had to do the same as well- both sides were not gaining anything. Why not give into those urges though? It seemed easy enough...
                  But how did we get here?
                    Well, I think I know.
