ȴegends from so long ago that age itself has forgotten their origins warns of the plight were one to anger the great Goddess of the Seas. Sailors pray to her, sinners beg for her mercy, captains of the greatest ships to sail the seven seas tip their hats and ask her pardon before even hoisting their anchors.
No one has ever seen her, or possibly, no one has seen her and lived to tell the tale. Many claim extravagant stories of her beauty and many more of her value.
She is the most treasured, most valuable gem of the sea that no one sailor or even pirate can even hope to gain. Or so they say...

The Dark Selene is out to conquer all of the sea with Captain Kaz at the bow, but when he and his crew take prisoner a mysterious woman the Captains dream may have been realized without realizing it.
Has he captured the greatest treasure of the seas? Or will the treasure prove to be too heavy a load and lead The Dark Selene into the darkest abyss beneath the waves?

A Fore royal H Mizen royal

E Main royal M Flying jib

F Main topgallant N Outer jib

The top and bottom edges of a square sail are called the HEAD and the FOOT. The outer edge is the LEECH. The main belly or centre of the sail is the BUNT. The two top corners are EARINGS and the bottom two corners CLEWS.

Sails are named by their mast and their position on the mast. They are carried on YARDS. A SQUARE YARD is a spar tapered at each end and held at its midpoint at right angles to the mast. The outer end of the yard is the YARDARM. Ropes called BRACES run from each yardarm and allow the yard to be swiveled horizontally to catch the wind. Other ropes called LIFTS from the masthead to the yardarms and SLINGS to the middle of the yard contol the vertical movement of the yard by means of HALYARDS. The ropes connected to the clews are known as SHEETS. They are either fastened to the yardarms below or, in the case of the main courses, used to control the sail.

CLEWLINES connect the clews to the middle of the sail`s spar. BUNTLINES are used in

REEFING (making a sail smaller by rolling up part of it ) or FURLING (bundling sails up and securing them to a yard). A FOOT ROPE runs underneath the yards for men to stand on while furling the sails.

All the ropes used to control the sails in working the ship are known as the RUNNING RIGGING as distinct from the STANDING RIGGING which supports the masts. In the latter case SHROUDS go from the masts to the sides of the ship while STAYS (FORE STAYS and BACK STAYS etc.) run fore and aft.

Larger ships than the sloop shown in the illustration carry more sails. Above the Main royal would be the SKYSAIL and the MOONRAKER and there would be STAYSAILS, which are fore and aft sails between the masts. To get the maximum amount of canvas in light winds STUDDING SAILS or STUNSAILS (pronounced stuns`l) were used on either side of the main sails, top sails and top gallants, carried on extensions to the yards. Stunsails are said to be the invention of Sir Walter Raleigh.

ATHWARTSHIPS Across the ship from side to side.

BEAM. The maximum width of a vessel. ABEAM means at right angles to the ship`s side and ON THE PORT (or STARBOARD) BEAM means that something (another ship, land etc.) is on that line. ABAFT THE BEAM means that is on the stern side of that line and FORWARD OF THE BEAM that it is on the bow side of the line. (note forward is pronounced `forrard`)

BOW or BOWS. The front of a vessel. The sharp or rounded part that cuts through the water. Anything which is within 45 degrees of straight ahead is said to be on the PORT (or STARBOARD) BOW. FINE ON THE (P or S) BOW would refer to something not quite straight ahead. BOW CHASER guns fire straight ahead during a sea chase.

BROADSIDE. The majority of guns in a warship were mounted on one or more decks and faced sideways out of the ship through GUN PORTS cut in the side of the ship. The simultaneous discharge of all the guns on one side of a ship is referred to as a broadside, and could involve 1000 lb of iron being fired against an opponent from very short range.

CATHEAD. Beams projecting on either side of the forcastle near the bow to secure the anchor after it was hoisted out of the water. An anchor thus secured was CATTED.

DECKS. The horizontal levels which divide a ship. The lowest level was the ORLOP DECK . On a warship with three decks the LOWER DECK came next and the heaviest guns were mounted here, firing through the lowest line of gun-ports. The majority of the seamen lived on the lower deck. Above this the MIDDLE DECK with the medium sized guns and then the MAIN or SPAR DECK with the lightest guns. In the stern there were partial decks above the Main deck. These were the QUARTER DECK, reserved for officers, and the POOP DECK where the ship was steered. Three lanterns were mounted on the poop. Another partial deck was the FORECASTLE (pronounced fo`c`sle) in the fore part of the ship. The part of the main deck in between was the WAIST. Below the Orlop was the hold in which the provisions required by all the crew (more than 800 men on a 1st Rate ship) for six months or more could be stored.

FORE and AFT. Running from bow to stern as distinct from athwartships.

KEEL. The lowest fore and aft timber on which the whole framework of the ship is built. Above it is the KEELSON, a line of timbers which secure the keel to the upper framework. This framework consists of the RIBS which rise upward and outward to form the skeleton of the ship to which the planking is fastened.

PORT & STARBOARD. Looking towards the bow the left hand side of a vessel is the PORT side and the right hand side is the STARBOARD side. Until the name was changed in the middle of the nineteenth century to avoid confusion, the port side was known as the LARBOARD side. The names probably derive from `Steer-board`, a large oar on the starboard quarter which was used to steer a vessel before the rudder arrived, and `Load-board`, the opposite side which was against the quay for loading cargo. The color of the navigation light on the port side is red and, on the starboard side, green. Port is also associated with `even` and starboard with `odd`, since in a ship`s boat known as a whaler there are two oars on the port side and three on the starboard

STERN. The rear end of a ship. ASTERN means behind the ship. The two sides of the stern within 45 degrees of dead astern are referred to as the QUARTERS. Thus another ship not directly astern could be described as on the PORT (or STARBOARD) quarter. To GO ASTERN is to go backwards. It is used in combinations such as STERN-CHASER, that is guns that point astern to fire at ships chasing you.

TONNAGE. Either the capacity or the weight of a ship. A figure for tonnage is completely meaningless unless one knows which system of measurement is used. The term derives from `tun`, a cask of wine, and a ships BURTHEN or BURDEN was the number of tuns she could carry. This was also known as BUILDER`S MEASUREMENT or bm. The figure quoted for most ships up until the 1870`s will be bm, and can be calculated from

(L - 3/5B) x B x 1/2B where L = length in feet

bm = ----------------------- B = beam in feet

94

Warships are now measured in DISPLACEMENT TONNAGE, the weight of the water displaced by the ship when she is fully ready for sea.

TOP. The TOP or FIGHTING TOP. A platform at the head of the lower masts where sharpshooters were stationed during battle to fire down on the decks of enemy ships. A private battle often developed between the fighting tops of opposing ships.

TOPSIDES. the ship`s sides above the water line.

WALES. Strengthening pieces of wood forming protective bands around the hull. The lower wale is indicated on the drawing. The upper edge of the side of a ship or boat is called the GUNWALE, pronounced `gunnel`.

WEATHER & LEE SIDE. The WEATHER SIDE is the windward side, the side from which the wind is blowing, and the LEE SIDE is the sheltered side. The weather side of the Quarter deck being higher because of the ship`s heel was reserved for senior officers, the midshipmen kept to the lee side. The Weather side was always sought in naval battles because to have the WEATHER GAGE meant having an advatange over an opponent since one could choose the moment of attack against ships to LEEWARD. The copious amounts of smoke produced by cannon fire was blown to leeward obscuring the enemy`s vision. A WEATHER SHORE lies to windward and is safe, whereas a ship is blown towards a LEE SHORE and it is very dangerous.

The man lived in hope of this, believing if he paid his dues and followed orders his dream would come true.

Unfortunately, during a pirate attack that dream was forever lost. Kaz father was killed in the midst of the battle. During the funeral, Captain Stefan acknowledged before the crew that he knew of his first mates dream, and as the fallen man sunk to the bottom of the sea the Captain promoted him to the position of a Captain himself.
Kaz was 17 at the time, at that moment watching his father drift away the young man decided that if he ever wanted to get what he wanted while he was still living he wasn't even going to have to just bend a few rules he was going to have to completely shatter them.

And so began Kazuki's career as a ruthless thief and plunderer. At the next port, the young man disappeared from the ship of his father with a sizable portion of their goods. He formed a small crew which grew quickly in numbers and in prestige. He sat alone in his quarters amidst a dozen or so maps and charts deeply engrossed with what he was hoping was going to be his greatest plunder yet. He had heard, with a bit of persuasion of course, that his good old friends The British Navy, were hauling what they considered to be the most valuable treasure of the seven seas. What that happened to be the young man hadn't been able to discern for even the rumors were hushed on this topic, but whatever it was Kazuki wanted it. He had hunted down every navy vessel their ship could overtake in the past month searching for the one with the precious cargo upon it, but even before their Selene was within firing range Kazuki had known the ships were decoys and fakes: He had practically grown up on a navy vessel, he knew their formations and their ranks. While it aided him in locating where a ship would likely sail, and what ships had what, the knowledge couldn't tell him which ship they would trust with this treasure and what route that specific ship would take. Not without doing some serious homework and getting an ear on the inside.

A knock on his door, made the man flinch in annoyance. How many times had he told his crew to leave him alone when the door was slammed shut? At the tone of a familiar male voice his annoyance dropped a bit, his first mate never bothered him unless it was important after all.
"Captain, we are approaching a navy vessel." The male explained.
"Okay, just like I said we would." Kaz replied back from behind the door, he went back to his papers, "So what?"
"Captain...the vessel we are coming down upon, I think it's The Moon Dust." he explained.
That news made the Captain not only stop writing but open the door. He grins much like a cat who had cornered a mouse, "The Moon Dust? You don't say..." he muses before leaving the door and allowing his first mate to enter his quarters, "It's been what? 8 years since I've last seen that ship."

Kazuki grabs his bandana and hat before leaving the room followed by the other red haired man. Even before he left the quarters he could see that anyone who wasn't working on the sails was already gathered at the waist of the ship for his orders. Kazuki didn't disappoint, atop the quarter deck he put on his bandana with a cocky grin, "My first mate tells me that we will soon be visiting the ship of my late father and his crew. The Moon Dust is one of the greatest most powerful vessels the military has to offer." he explains before slipping on his hat, "This is the ship we have been searching for with the greatest treasure aboard." He says listening to the eager whistles and clapping of greedy hands, "But before we go any further, remember gentlemen. This was my fathers ship, so let's treat it with a pirates respect shall we?" he adds in sweet tones earning some dark chuckles. Changing his expression to one more serious, Captain Kazuki turns towards the seas just as the great ship began to come into view of the naked eye. It was already clear from the way it was tearing through the choppy seas that they had been spotted, "Leave no prisoners. Captain Stefan is mine." He orders.

The King and his men
Stole the Queen from her bed...

Adrienne
Nerissa, Goddess of the Sea

Adrienne glared vehemently toward the two guards standing outside her cell, the muskets trained on her for the duration of the trip, but even more so after her enraged outburst toward them. They were unsure of their superiority now, which she approved of, however that made things harder on her. She heaved a sigh and stared them down, one cowering easily beneath her vengeful crystal-blue eyes while the other stood strong as if to prove a point. She hoped his point was meant for his partner, for she doubted any human could tell her something she did not already know.

They had been on the water for perhaps two or three days, an immortal did not count time nearly so much as mortals did. Even so, every minute she spent in this place, contained not only within her human form, but within this dingy wooden and iron cell, was demeaning and maddening. She started pacing, feeling something coming on the winds, but not knowing what. Her powers were limited in this enclosed space, in this single body. She licked her lips just as one of the guards, the "braver" of the two (the less sensible, more like) told her to quit her pacing.

She paused and fixed him with a glare. "Why? Does it worry you?" she asked tauntingly, sauntering toward the door, her hands grasping the iron bars. "You should be worried..."

The guard shook slightly but gave no sign of it as he kept the barrel of his musket aimed at her, the other guard starting to lower his for fear of her wrath. While they quarreled, she gave a sigh, turning toward the blank, solid wall of the ship at the back of her prison. The least they could have done was put her in one of the cells with a porthole. It hurt her to be apart from the sea, but maybe that's why they'd done it in the first place.

The Dark Selene came upon the Moon Dust so fast it almost seemed as if the naval vessel wasn't even moving. Soon they were level with the ship and Kazuki raised his sword, "Fire the broadside cannon!" He ordered. Not even a second later, he heard his first mate repeat the order and then one of his gunners voices. Suddenly there was a terrific noise and more than 1,000 pounds of iron was shot towards the sides of the enemy ship. The Captain smirked to himself listening to the crack of wood and the yells and shouts of officers aboard the opposite ship. If they didn't know pirates were upon them before, they certainly knew now.

With one side sucessfully wounded and abandoned Captain Kazuki pointed his weapon towards the ship, "Board and attack!" he shouts. Below him eager men tossed up planks from one ship to the other and began to walk across while others grabbed ropes and swung.
Kazuki watched everyone beginning to board the vessel with arms patiently crossed. He only diverted his attention when his first mate met his side, "Captain, you're not going?"
"I will after those idiots pave the way." He explains to his friend, "They are the Navy, just because we chased them away from one side of the ship doesn't mean they won't return to it." he explains, while thinking to himself that he also didn't want to deal with too many small fry. He wanted to find Captain Stefan wherever he was and just get to the treasure. After a moment of observation, he noticed two finely decorated sailors race down from the quarter deck. Kazuki grabs a stray rope from the mizen topsail and swung over the heads of his crew fighting the navy troops. He landed right behind a tall older gentleman in a captains uniform. Already the pirate captain had drawn his gun, "Captain Stefan, so good to see you again. You look well."

The man didn't immediately turn around from his place at the ships wheel. But he did sigh, "Kazuki, I didn't want to believe it at first when I heard you had become a pirate, but now I see the rumors were certainly true. What would your father think to see you know?" The Captain replies while looking over his shoulder to the man he had known since a boy.
Kazuki grins, "I think he'd be proud. The old man always did tell me to go after my dream and let no one stop me. Well, my dream is to be filthy rich. I know you have something mighty valuable on this ship. Tell you what Captain, despite my change in occupation I am fond of you. If you hand over the treasure and goods I'll let you live."
"What I have on this ship, I don't think even you expected or even want. But I suppose I have no choice." The man sighs while walking he was far too old anyway to fight when he didn't need to. On the main deck everyone paused and stopped the fighting and killing once they realized the pirate captain already had ahold of the navy's captain. Downstairs, Captain Stefan paused, "You will find everything you want in the hull." He explains giving Kazuki the keys. Kazuki takes them and glances to some of his own men who had followed behind when they say the two going downstairs, "Hold him." Kazuki orders before opening the door. He heard the other captain yell for no one to attack making Kaz realize that there were soldiers stationed down in the hull to guard their treasure.

The first door he stepped across, the Captain opened the door only to give a low whistle at the sight of tons of gold and silver and diamond treasures filling up the room. But not having run into those guards he walks further inside.
He found the men already on the ground before a cage holding a beautiful woman inside. Captain Kazuki raises his eyes in amusement, "Well, what do we have here." He sings to himself before walking closer, "A maiden in distress?" he taunts her while leaning an elbow casually against a horizontal bar.

The King and his men
Stole the Queen from her bed...
And bound her in her bones...

Adrienne
Nerissa, Goddess of the Sea

Adrienne was in mid-step to turn and pace again when the ship rocked abruptly, the movement accompanied by the sound of a cannon firing and splintering wood. The jerking motion sent her sideways and she gripped the iron bars beside her to catch herself before she fell. Shouts of orders and panic rose on deck and she stood and made her way toward the front of her prison, trying to angle her head to get a better look. She narrowed her eyes; who was attacking the vessel and would they help her? Could they help her? The guards, knocked over by the force of impact, looked torn between keeping their guard and weapons upon her or going above to help their crewmates. They also looked prepared to head further into the hull for cover.

She waited calmly while whatever fight or exchange on the deck took place, becoming restless until footsteps echoed on the stairs. Still not able to see who approached, she did hear the captain of this vessel tell the guards to stand down. Was it a friend or a powerful foe that had managed such a feat? The captain seemed discouraged, if anything, so likely a foe that had overpowered the Navy. She frowned slightly, catching sight of a tall, lean young man peering into an adjoining room that carried the Navy's store of silver, gold, and jeweled fineries. When he continued down into the hull, she watched him carefully, noting his arrogance in the way he smiled and carried himself, but it took confidence and bravery to look upon the world in such a way. Either way, she found herself both respectful of his superior behavior and tiring of it.

Adrienne continued to watch him as he neared her cell, his face portraying him as amused when he caught sight of her. She arched a brow, daring him to underestimate her. At his comment of her being a "maiden in distress," she glanced pointedly at the two guards slumped against the wall, clutching their muskets. "Two, actually," she replied before returning her eyes to the man before her. The guards coughed, offended. Smirking slightly, she tilted her head as she looked up at him, wondering why he was here and what he would do now that he'd found her.

Captain Kaz chuckled at the clear insult that was directed to the two soldiers huddled within the corner. He nods in acceptance, "I do believe I stand corrected." he admits earning some glares from both of the men on the floor, but it was clear that they were far too frightened to do anything more than just what they had been doing. This woman on the other hand seemed willing to stand toe to toe with him. Who the heck was she?

His attention diverts slightly as he hears someone running downstairs. The young captain only turns his head a bit to take in his first mate enter, "Captain, the resistance outside has been dealt with. Everyone is awaiting your orders." he explains
Captain Kaz gives but the slightest of nods before looking again at the locked up woman, he finally raises his hat up a bit and sighs, "What a let down. I really thought this was the ship." He admits letting out a much deeper sigh, before turning around to face his first mate, "But I really don't see what's so important about some brood, and nothing else stands out."

The first mate, sneaks a peak over his Captains shoulder to see the beautiful woman his eyes widen and he swallows, "She's stunning. Perhaps this was the treasure after all, the men could have been guarding that storeroom, I could swear that is the biggest load I have ever laid eyes on. This woman might be the princess to a kingdom or someone's daughter." he tries
Casting another look towards the woman in the cell he waves his hand in dismissal, "I guess this could be the treasure, but I was expecting a center piece that dulled the shimmer of this entire room full of gold. No spoiled brat with a cute face does that." Kazuki snorts

"So are we leaving her?" The first mate asks, he was looking too much like a puppy who was going to be left behind while the family went on a day trip to the next town for goods, "We could always get more riches with ransom." he reasons

"If the place ain't too far out of our way."
Kazuki shrugs, "Tell the men to start loading the goods, all of the weaponry, and this treasure." He explains before once again approaching the cell, "Who are you and where are you from anyway?" Kaz asks, "You'd better hope your worth keepin around, just because you got a sharp tongue and your easy on the eyes don't mean your getting onboard my ship. I don't take freeloaders." he says though honestly, if she were as wily as she seemed to be making herself out to be perhaps it wouldn't be too much of a pain in the rear end to take her on their ship.

The King and his men
Stole the Queen from her bed...

Adrienne
Nerissa, Goddess of the Sea

Adrienne listened to the obvious pirate before her speak, first to her and then with his first mate. She soured a little at being called a spoiled brat, but did not mind this callous man's first mate calling her "stunning." She was a sea goddess, but she was a woman, too, after all. She stood still a moment before opening her mouth to speak, but the more "brave" of her guards raised his voice first.

"Good luck with that," he said, snorting with humor in his thick English accent, "she wouldn't even tell us her name or origin! Got her in a raid of your friends in Singapore!"

Adrienne arched a brow in disbelief; he seriously thought all pirates were friends? Or were the Singaporian pirates this man's allies? They were a touchy lot, but hadn't given her too much trouble there. Except that damn first mate...

She tuned back in just as the guard chortled with obvious pleasure, "As far as we know, she's a nobody and with that sniping, wench's attitude, she never will be." He looked to his friend for support his friend was not willing to give, especially when he saw the look on Adrienne's face.

A high metallic moan escaped the vessel as the waves savagely beat it sideways. Adrienne's oceanic eyes were fixed unmovingly upon the guard, her stare ancient in its anger and promises of vengeance. Her hands curled into fists and they shook with her anger before she made her fingers uncurl and forced her eyes away, turning them instead on the pirate at her door. She stepped directly in front of him, her fingers wrapping around the iron bars, even closer than before.

"Get me away from these idiots," she began hushedly, holding his gaze willfully and strongly. "And you'll find I'm worth saving." She willed him to let her out, barely a breath away from him, the iron bars being their only real separation. Men liked closeness and soft voices. She let his mind fill in the blanks to whatever he wanted as to why she would be worth keeping around. She waited, hopeful.

The Captain found it interesting when one of the guards spoke up before the imprisoned lady could and offered up free advice. If he knew the Navy even half as well as he thought he did the information was never really free. They were driving at something by supplying him with so many details. The pirate merely put a forefinger and thumb to his chin and listened silently.

Singapore? Ugh, he did recall having quite a few run ins with those guys, but at the moment they were pretty far off. He wasn't really favoring the idea of traveling all of the way to their waters just to get into a brawl with another gang of pirates for information on one woman. He was actually on civil ground with them but if the woman used to be theirs they'd want her back and Kazuki wasn't a delivery service kinda guy. Still, he muses in his mind while looking at her, if she were kidnapped wouldn't the navy be trying to get her home? Why were they keeping her locked up? All the more if they had no idea who she was, they wouldn't first treat her as a prisoner, not a woman at least.

He couldn't believe that she was a nobody, that didn't jibe with what he knew of this ship. The Moon Dust didn't just lock up and haul around a 'nobody' not unless they had a terrific fall in rank that Captain Kaz didn't know about, judging by crew size and the huge room literally glowing of its own accord by jewels he found his earlier thought to be truer, she was important for what though he'd have to find out on his own.
He raises his eyes just a bit and moves out of his conscious just as the woman steps forward to speak to him. Her voice was strangely alluring in a way he had never known any maidens to be. Despite himself he was getting interested in how she'd be worth saving. She wasn't stupid, or at least she didn't look it, she had to know he wouldn't just rescue her for nothing. Anyway maybe she knew something about this great treasure having been onboard The Moon Dust, and after he got something, or even before he could have some fun with her.

"Looks like I'm gonna have to make a trip to those Singaporean idiots after all." He smirks while closing his eyes in submission to his decision. She had swayed him.
Turning to the guards he eyes the one who was cowering more, "Give me the keys to her prison." he orders.
When the man hesitates, Kaz rolls his eyes, "Oh don't go brave now." He says pulling out his sword and leveling it against his partners neck, "Give me the keys or I kill him and then you."
The man lost all of his previous chuckles as he stumbled and quickly, but clumsily handed over the keys. The Captain snatched them up just as another wave slammed against the damaged vessel this time the moan of the ship sounded a lot like a sad whale, "hmm, I guess I may have overdid it on the cannons. This might be the Moon Dust's last sail." He smirks with not a shred of guilt.

Unlocking the cage, he grabs the woman rather roughly by her arm turns her around. In one smooth motion he has both of her wrists and is tying her up with a rope. When she is cuffed he grabs her arm again and starts to walk out of the corridor and past his men who were just finishing with the gathering of the gold. "Pardon me m'lady for my manners. I am no gentleman and I want off of this ship before she takes on any more water." he says once they are on the upper deck. He stops just as they pass the Captain of the Moon Dust, Kaz tips his hat in mock respect, "Pleasure doing business with you Captain Stefan."

Captain Stefan keeps his gaze unwavering, he stares down at the woman beside him and shakes his head, "Believe me Captain Kaz. This isn't over. We will recover and come after you. And we will get her back." He threatens in a very cool voice.

Captain Kazuki picks at his ear before steering the woman away, "Funny, I seem to remember hearing those words before from the last five navy ships I sank. I hope you have better luck." he states. A board was placed for the Captain and his new female prize just thick enough that they needn't worry about stumbling over the edge. Just as Captain Kaz touched his own ship's floorboards again he went straight to his quarters and deftly tossed the woman on the bed and shut the door.

The King and his men
Stole the Queen from her bed...
And bound her in her bones...

Adrienne
Nerissa, Goddess of the Sea

Adrienne watched the pirate warily, waiting for him to make his decision. He would be a fool not to take her with him, even if it were simply for the insurance that he had gotten what the Navy had so heavily guarded. She calmly stood, thrilling when she saw the hint of choice in his eyes, a choice that favored her.

However, being roughly grabbed and dragged from her cell like a lamb to the slaughter hadn't exactly been what she'd had in mind. She stumbled along in the most graceful way one may stumble beside him up from the hull. She was affronted although she shouldn't have suspected anything less from a pirate. She had always preferred pirates to sailors, except of course the group of pirate lords that had sealed her in flesh. Adrienne relished in their sense of freedom and their love for the sea, two things she understood more than anyone. However, they had a severe lack of respect, something that did not bode well with her.

After he had made his choice and she was out of her cell, the waves her rage had created quit their repeated rocking of the ship, leaving it watery and very slowly sinking. Once they were on the pirate ship, she was a little unnerved to find that she was being led not below deck, as she had expected after the stunt with the rope, but into what she assumed was the captain's cabin. When she hit the bed, Adrienne decided she must be right.

Pushing herself into a sitting position at its edge, her eyes were defiant and fiery as she stared down the pirate who had brought her here, not moving from her seat, but unwilling to give into anything without both her consent and a fight. She wondered what she had gotten herself into.

It felt strange, the waves of the sea. Although he wouldn't call himself especially sensitive in too many respects he was a sailor and anyone who had spent at least a week at sea could at least slightly realize a change had occurred when one minute there were rough waves and the very next the water was calm. What ebbed at his conscious however was the realization that the waters had only subsided after he had touched his own ships floor. Perhaps the Moon Dust was more damaged than he originally thought? Captain Kaz tried to shake off the eerie feeling in his gut as he steered the woman into his quarters and straight onto the bed.

He had taken a moment to lock the door before turning to face his newest captive. The first thing he found upon facing her again were deep angry eyes and a tense posture. Despite himself he felt his annoyance growing for the hostile look. Taking a minute to remove his hat and then his coat, finally he was unable to keep his temper in check. He shakes his head with a sigh, "Surely, you aren't unhappy about being taken on board a pirate ship? Not when you practically begged me a moment ago to take you?" Kaz sighed with a sarcastic shakes of his head, "This is precisely why the mind and emotions of a woman confuse me. Maybe this is why sailors say women are such bad luck at sea?"

Stalking towards his own favorite chair he moves it so that he can sit and rest his elbows against the chairs back, "Too bad for you, I don't do take backs. You're here now and I want answers. Who are you and why were you on board the Moon Dust?" he asks her before pulling out his boarding axe, he idly plays with it in his hand, "You might win some points with me if you have any information on a 'great treasure' the navy is supposed to be shipping." He also adds.

Adrienne sighed, relaxing her look at his angry reaction. She seemed to always expect too much of people and how she had expected fair treatment from a pirate, she didn't know. How could she expect respect when they did not know who she truly was, even if she was their queen? The rope was a little much though.

"My name is Adrienne and I was on that ship because they put me there, I don't know exactly what they wanted from me," she answered after a moment, being truthful in that she did not know "exactly" what the Navy had in mind. Or how their captain had found out about her.

"And as for a 'great treasure,' the only items I knew to be held by the Navy were that pile of gold and silver you already found and myself. I only include myself under that category because that is what their captain told me upon my capture." That was all true, no information withheld.

Adrienne had relaxed throughout the conversation once she had realized he had only brought her in here to talk and interrogate her. "What is your name?" she asked bravely, curious to know. This was an interesting man she was facing. And a handsome one at that. Although it did not control her opinions of people, it never hurt to have that on one's side.

Kazuki gazes at her from the side of his eyes in interest as she begins to speak, the interest quickly becomes irritation and then boredom as she wraps up and then falls quiet again. 'Well, I do believe that was the most useless information I could've gotten.' He thinks to himself, but his couldn't find it in himself to be so angry that he upped his measures. She had answered all of his questions, just not in any way that told him anything.

"Cute." He states aloud before shaking his head and deciding that he'd indulge her question as to his identity. It was going to be a long sail regardless with this woman and his name wasn't exactly a secret,"I'm Kazuki Topaz, but you can call me Captain Kaz. Welcome your voyage aboard The Dark Selene." He says with an exaggerated bow. Gazing towards his many charts of the military and of the sea he sighs, "Well, Adrienne I regret to inform you that your usefulness to my goals is waning. That is, unless you're really someone important like the princess to a wealthy kingdom or something." standing up and taking in her beautiful form he grins and moves to sit next to her while leaning closer suggestively, "Or maybe when you said it'd be worth my while to take you, you meant in a different context?" he says letting a stray hand glide over her hair before picking up a few tendrils.

Generally speaking the pirate captain of the Dark Selene wasn't the sort of guy to take women prisoners simply to have his way with them, but hell if they were offering to be just that then who was he to be so heartless as to turn them down? He still knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that this women was valuable in some way to at least one person. Captain Stefan wouldn't have addressed her as part of his loot if she weren't. Either way though, it seemed an even greater treasure was still on a navy vessel somewhere in the sea. This woman wasn't going to take precedence over that no matter who she was.
