Smirking up at Maxi, Ciro just grinned and within moments the two servants were gone from any visible sight or sound as the werewolf had a tendency to be a little on the loud side. There again with Maxi doing the naughty it was next to impossible to remain quiet because the vampire just had a way with him that made everything feel extraordinary. Temporary, of course, but still wonderful. Ciro had no qualms in doing this with Maxi, no feelings of attachment or worries about any jealous lovers because his friend didn’t go in for that sort of thing in the slightest and always made his intentions extremely clear.

So tonight he would enjoy it, like every time he had been with the vampire and just forget about the troubles on the outside world for a bit. Pleasure was a good distraction from all of that chaos and even the soft natured Ciro would join in on it whenever he could do so.

~*~

Silence swept across the room, echoing back on itself and almost creating a white noise affect in the large vampire’s ears as Eden’s words finally sunk through the hazy glaze that he had been captivated by. Never before in his life had Raidon been so insulted, especially by someone who was technically of equal standing to himself. Whilst he was a known troublemaker, he had never deliberately lead anyone astray, nor made false promises of love and commitment...hell he had never even been the one to break off a relationship, he was always the one who was dumped by the other party for any other reason than the fact that he had not been a kind and caring boyfriend. He never quite understood what he did wrong in those situations and unfortunately none of his ex’s had ever been kind enough to explain it to the vampire prince either but Raidon had just presumed that one day it would all fall into place.

So to be completely, utterly rejected by the human prince within the space of an hour of knowing him was devastating to the vampire. Being called disgusting and revolting however really pushed the vampire over the edge and he had absolutely no control over what he did next. With a feral growl he stepped forward, grabbing onto Eden’s arm with enough pressure to instantly bruise the skin under his fingers and almost make the fragile bone underneath splinter and crack into two pieces. His eyes glowed a deep red, his blood lust mixing with his anger to create a dangerous cocktail which would not be controlled easily in the slightest.

“You think yourself so high and mighty because you have a standing as a prince,” Raidon’s voice was a ghostly whisper, “You think that you can just state your demands and that everyone will just fall into line in front of you?” Harshly the vampire shoved Eden up against the nearest wall which happened to be a good twenty foot away from where they had been previously standing and heard an ungodly crack as a nearby mirror started to slowly shatter itself from the slight shimmering power that was coming off the vampire. “You may have not been happy back in that hell of a palace but I was prepared to give you whatever you wanted to make you happy, I was prepared to treat you like you wanted to be treated and to give you ever lasting joy.”

A rebellious glint came across Eden’s eyes as suddenly he spat at the vampire and kicked out at him, just catching him off guard a little and forcing Raidon back a few steps. The prince reacted more than planned his next move, picking up a nearby vase and throwing it at the vampire before grabbing a long shard of glass from the wrecked mirror and charged towards the vampire to take him by surprise. A deep slice to the cheek was his reward and Raidon’s blood splattered across the Prince’s clothes and the fine furnishings on the floor. Spinning away, Eden made a run for the nearest available door, hoping that it would lead to an outside corridor but instead it opened up onto what he could only presume to be some form of twisted dining room with a long table that held bindings and several dark seats covered in plush leather. Clearly the vampires had experience in dealing with unwilling victims and the idea of having a blood table was pretty sick to the frazzled prince’s mind but he ignored it and continued to run.

Raidon’s deep and dark laugh haunted him as he realised with only the slightest bit of horror that the room was sealed off and the windows were firmly bolted shut. Turning to see the vampire prince easily striding towards him, Eden did the only thing that he could in this situation and grabbed a sword from the nearby wall. What the hell it was even doing there was beyond anything but at least it was a weapon. He charged and hoped that this attack would be enough.
However even though Eden was clearly a skilled swordsman and had been trained by the best in the kingdom, there was no match for experience and Raidon had more than two hundred years worth. He easily evaded and dodged most of the attacks, allowed a few to creep through just to give the little pathetic human some hope that he could possibly get out of this situation alive but in reality all the strikes did were to cause temporary cuts that spread more blood around the room and they were healed almost instantly. Raidon smirked towards the human whom had been backed up into a corner, “Are you done yet? Cause I’m not even started.”

Raidon let out a slight huff of air as the sword was suddenly thrust through his chest and he looked down at the protruding blade with almost a hint of amusement. Leaning casually forward, the vampire smirked towards the other, fangs protruding with the smell of blood in the air, “A nice try, but didn’t no one tell you that it is only wood from a holy cross that kills a vampire, not a puny little sword like this.”

One hand slammed tightly onto Eden’s neck to keep him in place whilst the other grabbed the handle of the blade as he lightly twisted his body away and pulled it out in full view of the human in front of him, “I was going to be nice to you, you know, but I can see that you’re going to have to learn more than just manners if you are to remain here.” Suddenly he slammed a kiss onto Eden’s lifts, forceful and biting, not caring that he had pierced the skin on and around the others lips with his fangs as the sword clattered nosily to the floor.

He could feel Eden struggle, try to fight back against him and it only served to get him all the more worked up. Pulling sharply back from the kiss he dragged Eden out of the dining room, ignoring any curses that were sent his way and flung open the doors to what should have been the bridal suit. But instead of placing the prince lightly on the silk covered bed, Raidon snapped his fingers thrice and long, white living ropes suddenly sprang out of the headboard and latched onto the human prince around his wrists, ankles, neck and stomach.

Raidon smirked as he stepped back for a second, knowing that effectively Eden was now immobilised, “Let’s take a look shall we?”

The prince’s fine clothes were soon nothing more than mere threads on the floor and the ropes dragged him forcibly back onto the bed and held him in position despite his struggles. Raidon smirked as he tortuously removed his clothes, blatantly ignoring any more curses and words that were spoken by the prince before moving to straddle him with ease. “Shhhh,” he said, almost as if talking to a child who was scared of the dark as he ran his fingers around the bloodied mouth of the other, “If you scream anymore, you’ll only turn me on more and make me go longer.”

He leaned down, recapturing the others lips with a forceful head tilt back and proceeded to ‘have his way’ with Eden in a series of indescribable and horrible ways.

~*~

Waking up with a jolt, Kester pulled himself out of his bed and staggered to the bathroom; throwing up whatever he had for supper and feeling his head spin out of all known proportions. His vision was hazy, everything moving back and forth and he felt as though he had been drinking for the better part of a month. Turning on the tap, he splashed the cold water into his face and took a few seconds to gather his thoughts before raising his head to look in the mirror. He didn’t quite know how or even attempted to understand at this point in time, but he knew that Eden was in pain. He was hurting, far worse than anything he had ever been through before and there was only one thing to do.

Without a thought, the knight turned, grabbed his bag that still held all of his items from the castle including his sword and his final payment which was indeed a princely sum and left the inn he had opted to say in for the night. He didn’t care if he was going to break the treaty or anything like that; he had to get to Eden, the sooner the better though he knew that the vampire lands would be very hard to navigate.

Finding his horse, he set off into the fading night and sent out a prayer that Eden would at least survive long enough for him to reach him.

~*~

Four days later, Ciro felt his ears dip in worry as from half way across the castle the vile stench of forcibly taken blood and a couple thousand other things that he did not want to smell in the slightest coming from the bridal suit. It sucked having a good nose on you sometimes, “Oh ********...” he managed to stammer out, glancing quickly at Maxi before taking off towards the suit where they had been finally called for.

There was no sign of Raidon physically but there was plenty to indicate that he had indeed been around and the stenches of things indescribable was even worse here, “Oh double ********!” Ciro said, hurrying through the wrecked furniture, blood stains and countless broken items to try and find the prince, hoping that he was still alive and that they didn’t have a body to deal with.

ooc: bloody hell, what did I just write?

The fates wouldn’t let him die. Oh no, living was much more cruel and that’s what they’d rather have. That was all Eden knew anyways, why would things suddenly be different?

At Ahk he was ignored, and while it was painful in it’s own way, here he got the attention he had lacked at his own palace, although not in a way he would care for. This pain, it was beyond anything he had ever felt before. It wasn’t just physical, as bitter and distant as Eden had grew he was still human and it took quite a mental toll on him. He wanted to die. He wanted to be killed. He’d be all right with killing himself if he had the chance. Or the energy.

He was awake, he wasn’t sure if how long he had been out, how long Raidon had been gone. He was overwhelmed with pain as soon as he could register it. He was sure many of his fingers were broken along with a wrist— he didn’t attempt to push himself up, he stayed where he was. He was cold, he was covered in blood, bruises, cuts… When was Raidon getting back? He kept his eyes closed, at least feeling relief in the moments he could be alone.

He could only assume something bad had went down. He would like to think otherwise, really he would, but vamps had another sense to them. Max knew Raidon and the little human prince weren’t going to come along well which probably meant Raidon was upset. And the human was really his to do with as he pleased.

Honestly he wouldn’t be surprised if the poor thing was dead.

Although that would probably get the vampire heir in some trouble himself. As Ciro looked towards him, swearing, Max gave a frown, following the werewolf towards the bridal suite. It was a wreck. The prince would have his own room, he definitely needed it if he was still going to be around. Max moved through the mess looking for the human.

A part of Max could understand the desire, he was a vampire, he needed blood but he was older than Raidon, he had been around more humans, he would like to believe he himself had more control than the vampire Prince. Ah, and then he spotted the human prince collapsed on the floor, looking just as bad, if not worse, than he had imagined.

Oh then Eden heard someone coming in. Hopefully it was someone willing to finish the job. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem that way. Another vampire had found him— how he ended up on the floor, Eden wasn’t entirely sure— the vampire wrapped him in a clean, nice blanket pulling him up into a sitting position which made Eden wince in pain. Everything hurt. The vampire frowned.

“Ciro, would you want to clean up the prince… ?” The vampire turned to look at the other servant. Eden wasn’t comfortable, couldn’t support himself and ended up leaning forward and grabbing onto the elder vampire’s shirt. He looked a little put off— like he didn’t want to touch Eden, but still he felt an arm around his shoulders and the other slid under his legs as the vampire servant picked him up without any effort. Eden didn’t say anything, he closed his eyes. “I’ll bring him to the bathroom, then I think I’ll go wait around for Raidon…” He spoke again to— Ciro. Eden knew the other servant’s name now.

Max wasn’t sure it was a wise decision, but he had been dealing with Raidon for a long time.

Staring almost in shock towards the other, the werewolf looked as though someone had just physically gone and slapped him around the face. Whilst he knew his master could be a complete diva butthead who was in need of a severe kicking at times, he had honestly never imagined that he could go to this sort of level of sheer cruelty. Hearing the first comment, the young werewolf nodded though did not move initially because he wasn’t entirely sure what Max was going to do as of right now. He watched as the vampire carefully picked up Eden and said that he would wait around for Raidon which sent a little worry through the werewolf’s heart, “Just be careful, okay?”

Heading into the bathroom, he paused as he looked in and saw something akin to a horror scene and quickly closed the door. Turning to his friend he sighed and moved to take the prince from the vampire, “I’ll take him to the one in his room. Seems Raidon’s freaky pet was in there.” Hopefully that would be more than enough to deter Maxi from entering the space and making sure that Raidon was well covered, the younger man took Eden into his arms and carefully made his way to the Prince’s suite.

Like the rest of the rooms, the place was grand and luxurious but Ciro did not bother to pause to look as he headed towards the bathroom. It was done out in creamy coloured marbles and was large with a full length mirror and a deep inset bath that had a variety of different levers which could create different temperatures and bubbles which were supposed to be relaxing. Placing Eden down carefully on a nearby sofa, Ciro hurried to the bath and started to fill it with water which he hoped was not too hot or too cold but let out any form of bubble bath or oils because he did not want to cause even more pain to the young human who had just been cruelly abused by his master.

Once the water was at a reasonable level and temperature, Ciro made his way over to the prince and sighed, “The waters ready but if it’s too hot just tell me okay?” Slowly he moved to pick the other up and take him to the edge of the bath so that Eden could choose how he wanted to test the temperature or even if he wanted to get fully into it. Keeping his hold light, Ciro sighed softly, “You don’t have to have a bath yet if you don’t want...I’m sorry I should have asked you first. Is there anything that you want?”

The ride to this funny little outcrop that was just on the border of vampire territory had been longer than Kester wanted but at least his horse had a good stables to rest in after he had sold it to a local farmer because he doubted very much that the creature would put up with the idea of walking into vampire territory. Kester sighed and shook his head, a tiny part of him still questioning what he was even doing but his thoughts were still plagued by the fact that Eden was in pain and the feeling had only gotten worse.

Thankfully this little town that was a sort of junction between humans and supernatural creatures had an Inn with rooms to let and the barkeep did not appear too phased by the knight’s presence. He blinked when asked if he knew a route to the castle however and shook his head, “That’s one place someone like you should avoid sir. They don’t mind hiring human guards, gives them who has to go there some semblance of normality but I’ve never seen one survive past a winter. Too many temptations for the younger vamps see and it just causes problems.”

“Is there no one who can guide me there then?” Kester asked feeling slightly annoyed as he took a long draught from the beer he had ordered out of politeness which tasted utterly vile.

“Not human,” the barkeep replied, glancing around the patrons, “Mayhaps an old wolf would or a vampire but they’ll be more than likely after your blood so I wouldn’t trust them. I’ll put the word about for you though, see if anyone is brave enough to come and talk to you about it, but I wouldn’t put your hopes up too much sir.”

Kester nodded, placed down a few extra coins for the barkeeps trouble and went to sit by himself in a table in the corner of the room. It allowed him to observe people, a trait of his which had always proved to be a life saver and hopefully one that would help him out now.

~*~

Raidon sat bored in the midst of the meeting, no one was bothering to talk to him right now but he was pretty damn sure that they could smell what he had gotten which was just making them jealous. Idly he sat and played with his nails, not really thinking of anything at the moment or aware that he was going to be greeted with a slightly ticked off Maxi soon.

"holding my breath for a whole month, if i held your breath at least we would touch"

Eden kept his eyes closed as he was passed from one servant to the other. This one was smaller— younger, closer to Eden’s own age he could bet. He didn’t find comfort in it, he wasn’t relieved even by their gentle tones and handling. In all honesty he wished they’d be cruel— finish the job. He did move to hold onto Ciro’s shirt as he was carried it of the room.

At the mention of Raidon’s pet he made a rather pained expression recalling the experiences with it. He’d rather have Raidon than his pet.

He didn’t take the time to look at his room or even the bathroom as he was carried inside. Anything was nicer than the room he had just spent four nights in if anything but for the experiences that happened in it.

Finally he opened his eyes as he was laid down on the couch, he could already feel his eyes beginning to water from the pain he still felt. He wouldn’t cry— he didn’t want to cry. He took a moment to look around the room, glancing briefly past the mirror.

As he was taken to the edge of the bath he couldn’t help the glare, the frown towards the werewolf. “Stop touching me,” Weakly he moved himself away and lowered his body into the water. It hurt— of course it hurt— cold, hot anything touching his skin would hurt it. He could feel the tears building up yet again. Quickly he moved his hands to his face, ashamed for crying, ashamed of himself just for what had happened. A few fingers were broken and bent so disgustingly. It made him cry more.

“The mirror,” Eden finally began again sounding much more pathetic now, “Get rid of the mirror!” He didn’t want to see himself. After crying for a bit, shoving off any attempt at the other touching him, Eden did calm down. He was getting used to the water, the pain.

Looking back up at the werewolf the Prince spoke in a softer tone. “Could you get me a towel… and some clothes?” Oh he couldn’t wait to be dressed once again, he didn’t even care in what.

He paused, “When is Raidon getting back?”

A lot of vamps might be eager to guide a human if only because they were a food source— their own private food source they could string along for days, maybe longer if the vamp played his cards right. No matter the human, no matter how trained the knight, vampires usually, always came out on top.

Ezel was a young vamp, an eager one too. He could be reckless, spontaneous, possessive but adventurous nonetheless. He didn’t go to bars to drink— unless he happened upon blood— but to interact with anyone, vamps, werewolves, humans… Oh, he especially loved humans! They were fragile tasty little things who thought they were so big, bad and tough!

Sporting choppy red hair and red eyes to match, he stood out amongst the rest. He adored attention, he adored compliments. He also loved challenges. So when he overheard the barkeep asking around for a guide for a human knight who wanted to get into vampire territory— to the Kingdom nonetheless, Ezel jumped on the opportunity!

He didn’t have a family a home. Ezel was a traveler often working as a mercenary and sometimes even an assassin depending on the target and who was hiring him. He had worked with beings of every kind, he fancied himself good with any species.

He was dressed like a traveler, light clothes and even a sword at his side. He had a bag hung around his shoulder filled with extra clothes, money and such. He scanned the bar for the human giving a grin as he spotted a light haired knight. Big, strong… pretty! Ezel was already excited!

Quickly the young vamp made his way over to the table, offering a hand as he began to introduce himself, “I heard ya were looking for a guide to the vamp castle~? Name’s Ezel and I could help ya out!”

He knew this wasn’t a wise decision— oh, oh no way. Max would like to believe he could handle Raidon— not that he wanted to get into a fight. Maxi had always been a lover, not a gather. He would try anything to make sure there was no fight. Regardless he thought it necessary to talk to the vampire heir.

Maxi waited outside the meeting room a bit away as to not disturb the others. It wasn’t long until the meeting was over and before he could even see Raidon, he could feel his presence. Yes, even a part of Maxi was jealous— but he was older, wiser, more in control, right?

Still there was a reason Maxi was apprehensive to touch the human prince.

Finally as Raidon got closer, Maxi made himself known to the other vampire. “Master Raidon, it may not be my place to say, but I suggest you give your dear a break— unless of course you’re trying to kill him in which I’m sure he’s already hoping you might.”

Pulling his hands back almost instantly, Ciro moved back a little from Eden to show that he wasn’t going to harm him in the slightest. See the problem was that Ciro was a submissive wolf, hence why he was working in the castle rather than tearing around the countryside on hunts for thieves, misplaced humans or general terrors that needed to be contained. He never wanted to hurt any living thing, unless there was a reason for it and rarely killed to satisfy his hunger. There was a whole kitchen filled to the brim with food whenever he wanted it so he never had to worry about such things. Lightly his ears dipped though, he wasn’t one for receiving criticism well in the slightest but he had learnt patience over the years.

Hearing the request to remove the mirror, Ciro perked up his ears and nodded hurrying to do the Prince’s bidding. Thankfully hiding the mirror was no problem, he just placed it in one of the servants corridors and then quickly set about either removing or covering any other mirrors that were placed throughout the large dwelling that was the Prince’s own personal suite that very few could enter. Returning to Eden, he lay down on the steps leading to the bath tub and just waited like some loyal puppy dog for his next order. Once he tried to reach out to offer comfort but quickly retracted his hand. Part of him wanted to whimper because he didn’t like to see anyone upset but he thought that it would be inappropriate or more to the point, Eden wouldn’t like it.

After a while the Prince spoke again and Ciro nodded, pushing himself upright without too much hassle and heading straight to the airing cupboard to grab a nice, warm towel in a soft blue colour before returning to the tub to offer it. He would move to get clothes in a second since they were in the main bedroom and he hadn’t thought to bring any with him when he had brought Eden in here. Lightly be blinked at the question about Raidon and shook his head, “I do not know...he was called away to a meeting and I don’t know what plans he has for tonight,” lightly he paused and licked his lips, “I’ll go and fetch your clothes, do you want them brought here or would you prefer them to be in the bedroom...err...sir?”

Ciro realised that he didn’t actually know the Prince’s name, it hadn’t been passed onto him and Maxi and though they had spied they really hadn’t seen or heard much about the ceremony. Or maybe he had just missed it and forgotten which was more than probable.

So far a grand total of two people had come to speak to Kester about getting to the vampire castle. The first was an old witch who was seemingly more interested in other things and had to be rebuked away several times until he finally threatened to rip her throat out and stew her alive in her own cauldron. Kester didn’t hold too well with witches, there were many who were good and noble women but he had a memory of one from a child which always made him extra wary. As well as gave him an extreme dislike of gingerbread snacks too.

The second nearly caught him off guard. A bright red haired and red eyed vampire who barely looked to be older than Eden but Kester knew that he should not trust to looks in the slightest. Carefully he took hold of the others hand and shook it in return, “Really now? From what I hear there are very few who are willing to go to that Castle so I am curious to know why you would help me to get there?”

Asking questions was usually a good way to start building a picture of what a person was right and Kester rightfully didn’t want to put too much faith or trust into a supernatural from the get go. That was a quick and easy way to be turned into a nice, quick easy snack if you weren’t careful or blessed with some form of supernatural ability yourself.

Raidon had deliberately dawdled in leaving the meeting because he knew that Maxi would be nearby because Ciro was too much of a coward to really attempt to take him on. Not that he didn’t dislike the young werewolf, far from it actually, it was simply a matter of in comparison to himself Ciro was still a cub barely out of nappies and would take a long time before he was even remotely a threat to the likes of Raidon. No, Maxi would be the one to confront him about the state of the human prince that he was now lumbered with and whilst his new found confidence and potential ability was still prevalent, it was a fool who took on Maxi without thinking.

Leaving the room he almost smirked at seeing the other but kept his expression neutral. Though he chuckled, “My dear?” he asked, knowing that virtually everyone was out of earshot now, “Whoever said he was my dear?”

Rolling his eyes he turned and started walking the opposite way to the rest of the conclave and merely let out another chuckle, “Death will not visit him so swiftly because I rather enjoy him. Even his screaming is a delightful sound to my ears. Maybe next time you can savour it with me.” Clearly the diva prince was still on a power trip and after four days of drinking fresh human blood it was understandable as to why. It still didn’t mean that he had to be a d**k about it though, not that he would have really cared at the moment if he was honest to anyone who asked.

"holding my breath for a whole month, if i held your breath at least we would touch"

Eden moved to grab the towel offered, moving to get out of the tub finally and wrapping the warm fabric around himself. He was cold and his body ached but he was feeling a bit more used to it and just feeling cleaner was better. Not to mention the wolf had gotten rid of the mirrors as requested. There would be no more glancing into them and feeling upset just at his image. Still his hands trembled as he used them since a few fingers were broken.

“Eden,” He responded noticing the pause after Ciro asked where he would like his clothes. He moved slowly, having trouble finding his balance as he stood outside the tub. He looked to the door, letting out a sigh as he didn’t want to rely on Ciro to get back to the bedroom. “Just bring them to the bedroom,” He instructed as he slowly, carefully went to head into the bedroom himself.

Finally he took a moment to look around the room, it was nice, fit for royalty which Eden felt like he was no longer. He wasn’t a Prince, he was just the vampire heir’s playtoy, his food source. It sent a shiver down his spine thinking about it. He had to return to Raidon. He didn’t know if he was going to tonight— maybe the vampire needed a break himself.

                            But maybe he should.

Maybe he should go back to Raidon. Eden could feel his body weakening and more of the same would kill him in no time. It wouldn’t be easy to kill himself, he didn’t know with what he could and if the servants stayed around— which it looked like Ciro really wanted to watch out for him— he thought the task might be difficult.

He waited for the servant to return with his clothes while in the meantime moving to sit on the bed. Oh he was tired, he was so very tired. There was sleeping, there actually was a bit of it done the last four days but it wasn’t restful. He knew if he laid down he’d fall asleep within minute— although the chances of him waking up to a nightmare soon after were very likely.

“When… Raidon is done… tell me,” Eden paused, he hadn’t even had the chance to dress himself yet before he found himself laying down on the bed. “And I’ll go back to him.”

Ezel gave a frown and a tilt of his head questioningly at the human. All right so it was rather normal the man would have his doubts but there was very slim pickings if the knight wanted someone to take him to the vampire castle. Pulling back from the man a bit, he rocked a little on his heels not able to stay still for too long.

Why did he want to go to vampire castle? Well to be honest it wasn’t that he wanted to, it was just an adventure. With a cute human knight! What sounded more exciting? He didn’t have any jobs currently and the castle was home to so many vamps, could it be so hard to navigate to being a vampire himself? He thought most of the worry would come with letting a human knight tag along actually.

Finally he gave the man a smile, “Thing is— I’m not free, but we can work something out~?” He’d take blood as payment, Ezel… could sometimes control himself, although money would work just fine too! “I’ve worked with a lot of different species, humans even, kept ‘em alive too! Ya can ask the barkeep!” Although the man probably wouldn’t know as much, Ezel traveled mostly, but he was generally hard to forget. “I’ve been a hired guard before,” also an assassin and a hired thief at times, but that wasn’t relevant now, “So I’m not completely new to the job.” He gave the man a friendly smile. Now the guiding part— well, he had never been the best with directions to be completely honest.

“What do ya say?” He crossed his arms, the grin returning to his face.

Maxi could have glared at Raidon but he tried to keep his expression neutral as well. Instead he merely gave the spoiled vampire heir a shrug. They had just been wed and ‘dear’ was what one called their spouses at times, right? All right, so Maxi knew perhaps it wasn’t the best term and what would make more sense would be, well, play thing?

“Then perhaps you should give him a break for a few days, you do know how humans work, right? He’ll die if you continue like this…” Max trailed off, following a bit behind Raidon. And you really need to come down from this power trip. It was annoying. Yet the vamp’s last words were tempting. It was bad, it shouldn’t be so tempting.

“Thanks for the offer but I’m not really into rape.”

Perhaps a bad choice of words on Max’s part but even if Raidon and Eden were… ‘married’ whatever was happening certainly didn’t seem consensual. Max wanted to say he never got carried away when taking blood from someone, but he knew it was untrue. However, Raidon wouldn’t get to him, he could handle the other vampire being such a brat, he had worked before around humans, around vampires who had humans. They were all the same. “Besides a few days without him will do you some good as well…” There was a trace, a small hint of annoyance, in that response however.

Ah, so his name was Eden. Right, he was pretty sure that he should have clicked to that before but it was just easier to ask politely and follow the proper codes sometimes. Desperately he tried to think of something to do that would get the prince’s mind off everything that had happened but figured that would be a task close to impossible. Gently hunting through the clothes, he found a simple set of trousers and shirt that was loose fitting but not overly baggy and a set of satin pyjama’s which smelt of rose petals. He opted for the first set because right now he doubted that the prince would want to be sweet smelling and made sure to grab some underwear for the other too.

Returning to Eden’s side, the wolf heard the request and felt shock go through his system. Eden wanted to return to Raidon, after what had happened? That just made no sense in the slightest and the young werewolf just couldn’t bare the thought of it. Already the man in front of him was weak and clearly in pain so going back would only increase his misery and wounds and for some insane reason Ciro just thought that was completely unfair. But what could he say towards the other, it was his request after all and he couldn’t exactly disobey an order.

Ciro’s ears dropped for a second, “I will see what I can find out...” it was the best thing he could think of saying right now because if he could help it Eden was not going to go back to Raidon, not in this state. His eyes fell on the prince’s fingers as they fumbled with his clothes and Ciro felt his heart just break a little bit more, “Here, let me help you Eden. I can fetch a healer for your fingers once you’re dressed and get you some fresh tea if you like...or...what’s that black stuff that humans drink? Always reminds me of soot mixed with water and smells just about as nice as.” Ciro wasn’t the most cultured when it came to human society and about the only thing he did actually enjoy from it, excluding dog toys and tennis balls, was tea. He had no idea about what coffee was or why anyone needed to drink it in the slightest.

There weren’t many options to weigh up right at this given second and Kester knew that if he dilly-dallied around here too long then his chances of finding Eden alive and well were going to get slimmer by the day. Despite being slightly creeped out by this more than willing to help vampire, it was either a case of take a chance with this young and lively buck or else get bogged down waiting for something better to show up. Kester eyed up the boy in front of him, noting the strength in his arms and the glint in his eyes. This one was a killer, though his intentions seemed to be good which was something to be going on and the fact that he had said that he was not free was something at least a little bit better to work off.

He sighed, “Okay, I get the picture. I really don’t have much time to be picky so as long as you do get me to the castle then I will be happy to accept your guidance but there is a condition,” Kester knew that this would probably not sit well with the vampire but he was the one making the deal, “I need to get to the Castle within the week, any later and I doubt that my mission will be worth it. Can you get me there in that time?”

Rolling his eyes, Raidon sighed, “At least I am not like my elder brother who I believe murdered four of his human brides on their wedding night and one I believe did not even make it past the alter before he devoured her in front of all the guests.” That he not been an overly pretty event to begin with and that particular brother was no where around having been sent on an long extended stay to a distant kingdom which naturally he had learnt meant that the insane vampire was thrown into a disused well and left to turn to dust when the sun came up. Sure Eden could die if he kept on going like this but at least he had kept him alive for a few days.

Slowing down his steps just a little in order to send an almost challenging glare towards the other vampire, Raidon just smirked towards him, “I’m sure that you have more than committed that crime a few times but the difference here is that he is married to me and you know how it is with blood lust.”

It was a stupid thing to say, even Raidon knew that but he merely rolled his eyes at the comment and sighed, “Fine, I’ll leave the brat alone if it’ll stop you nagging at me like some bitchy house wife but he brought this on himself the little stuck up snob so he has no one but himself to blame.”

Slumping down into a seat in one of the more quieter rooms, Raidon rudely put his feet up on a table and lit up a cigar that he found there, not caring who it belonged to, “You’re no fun anymore Maxi, I think that pathetic werewolf cub is rubbing off on you a little too much.”

"holding my breath for a whole month, if i held your breath at least we would touch"

He sat up and got off the bed, placing one hand back down on it for support as the servant returned with clothes. Carefully and rather slowly he started with the underwear managing that by himself after a bit before receiving help with his pants. The wolf’s words just made him feel pathetic and upset. He could feel his eyes beginning to water once again. He didn’t manage to put on his shirt before pushing away from Ciro and sitting back down on his bed, hands up to his face yet again.

“Just ******** leave me alone! I don’t want your help, I don’t want a healer, I just want to be left to ******** die. I want out of this damn nightmare and I don’t care how it happens.” Which was why he wanted to go back to his spouse— it was cruel thinking of Raidon by that title— then maybe he could make the vampire snap and accidentally kill him.

There was no thoughts of Kester coming to rescue him, he didn’t even want to consider how his knight might look seeing him like this. He didn’t even want to think about living after this, living with what had happened. He just wanted to find a way to end this life.

He gave himself a few minutes to come down from the fit he was throwing because of the wolf’s kindness, scooting himself up further onto the bed so he could grab the edge of the blanket and wipe his face of tears. “I… want to go to sleep for now…” His tone had dramatically softened, feeling exhausted from the outburst and his every emotion he was currently feeling in general. “If you’re going to stay… you can lay next to me… and tell me every time I wake up… that I can go back to sleep.” Tell me that Raidon wasn’t around.

Ezel clapped his hands together happily when the human accepted. Fresh blood for Ezel— well, if the human wanted to make his payments that way! Plus, my oh my, was the knight a pretty little thing (right, so Kester might have been a bit bigger than Ezel and older too) Ezel just wanted to cling onto him and never let him go! Unfortunately for the knight, he didn’t quite know Ezel well enough to figure out this was a possessive little vampire and as soon as he agreed to the deal, this was now his human. Not to do with what he pleased, no to protect and love and cuddle with… Well, no, if the human pushed him off, Ezel might comply but he would certainly keep trying.

Although the man’s next words made him drop his hands to his sides. Did Ezel really know how to get to the castle? Well, no, but he knew the general direction… and they could stop and ask! The more vampires they saw, the closer they’d be getting, right? Ezel tried a more honest little smile as he gave a nod, “I will do that for you,” you pretty little blonde knight, you! No, Ezel, don’t say that part out loud.

“We can leave as soon as you’re ready! I have everything I need!” Ezel patted the bag to his side. Clothes, money, a few extra weapons, yes that was all. Maybe he should look into obtaining a map— naw, he’d trust his vampire instincts. That sounded like a thing, right? “Oh and what was your name, pretty blonde knight?”

                            Dammit.

Now at first Max wasn’t so angry with Raidon’s statements. He had followed quietly, continuing to stand as Raidon took a seat, just thinking over what the other vampire was saying. It wasn’t until Raidon got to the part about Ciro that Maxi really decided to say something. He wasn’t usually so confrontational but well, Raidon had no idea what he was talking about. He didn’t want the vampire to go back on what he said about leaving the Prince alone but before he knew it words were spilling out of his mouth.

“You’re a child, you’re acting like a child, you don’t deserve a human,” Max was beyond pissed and couldn’t quite seem to stop himself from continuing. He had always had trouble keeping his mouth shut. “What did you expect, the prince to just fall in love with you at first sight? You’re a vampire, you need to feed off of him— it’s natural he’ll reject you and you still blame him? You’re the brat Raidon, you’ve always been the brat.

“And how could you be so insulting towards Ciro— he’s been nothing but kind to you, a loyal friend and this is how you speak of him simply because he isn’t as cruel? Hell, no one is as ******** up as you are, it’s not a vampire thing, it’s not a blood lust thing— it’s you. You’re a spoiled diva princess. So sorry your prince was a scared little human— really, I’m so ******** sorry.”

He should have stopped before he began. He should have thought about what he said before the words came forcefully out. He would take punishment towards himself for the insults, hoping the man wouldn’t take it out on the Prince or Ciro instead just because Max seemed to care. Perhaps it wasn’t that he cared about them so much as he cared that Raidon was being rude and disrespectful to Maxi directly. The other vamp should know Max was not someone to be messed with.

Pulling back sharply as Eden yelled at him, Ciro let out a little whimpering sound. He wasn’t used to getting told off and having to deal with upset people. Okay sure Raidon was the biggest diva on the planet and did things that made no sense and yelled, screamed and raged on but he always had the advantage of having Maxi around who knew what to do and what to say. Faced with this one little human though, Ciro felt so out of his depth that he didn’t know if he should run straight back to the others and just put the poor thing out of it’s misery or if it were better to just stay put and take it easy with Eden.

To distract himself, he quietly sorted out the clothes which had been abandoned on the floor and made sure to get rid of the blood stained blanket as well. Seeing Eden dabbing his tears with his blanket, Ciro wanted to offer to get him a tissue or something but thought the better of it. Oh he was hopeless in this whole situation and it really highlighted just how bad of a situation he was in as a submissive wolf. He just wanted to protect, hold and love Eden to pieces even though he knew that would be a very impossible and highly dangerous task indeed but there was nothing that he could really do.

He was just about to offer to get him something when Eden said softly that he wanted to go to sleep and made a request of Ciro. It almost made the young cub start bouncing around in glee because he as actually needed and wanted for something but thankfully sensibility won out. Hence he remained calm and nodded, “I can do that, no problem.”

Getting rid of his shoes, Ciro hopped onto the bed lightly and offered to help Eden get under the blankets before laying down next to him, ears twitching back and forth. “Sleep, I’ll keep watch over you and I’ll always be here,” Ciro smiled, “To tell you to go back to sleep.” And that he’s not here and won’t be for a long while.

~*~

Well this was certainly a situation that was on the lines of out of the frying pan and into the fire but what other choices did he have at the moment. Kester knew that this was probably dangerous, insane and may turn out to be worthless but if it somehow miraculaously got him to Eden then that was all that mattered. Part of him did wonder quite why he was so desperate to reach the prince and his rational mind said it was because he loved the other as his little brother and the very thought of what was being done to him was tearing him apart.

But there was another voice which was suggesting other things and it got firmly stamped down upon for now.

Raising an eyebrow towards the other when he said that he was ready to go, Kester stood up and then frowned towards the vampire. Pretty blond knight? Who was he kidding? It was one thing that said blond knight had never actually heard himself referred to as before so presumed that the vampire was just a little on the strange side. “Kester,” he said simply for it was his name and there was no other that he could choose to go by. His imagination wasn’t that great.

Grabbing his bag off the floor, he hoisted it over his shoulder, “We may as well make a start on things now, get some distance in before the sun rises right...er...” hopefully the other would take the prompt in order to give his name.

~*~

Normally such an outburst would have caused an immediate reaction from Raidon, he would be yelling, throwing things around the place and attempting to attack Maxi on sight. He had just been rude, disrespectful and basically placed the whole blame for the entire situation on to the vampire heir without so much as a thought. Anyone would have to be insane to even think and try to say those words to the diva vampire.

Though strangely, all that Raidon did was to silently lift up a glass of wine which had been laid out and raise it to his lips. His gaze was set on a spot slightly further away from the vampire who had just insulted him and there was a devilish smirk on the heir’s lips, “I think you should go, Maxi,” Raidon spoke in a totally calm and collected wave, “The sooner the better.”

Raising the glass to his lips, the vampire took a drink but did not move his gaze away from the wall, “Run along now...” there was nothing threatening about the words but the way he said it suggested that Maxi had literally about five seconds to get out of that room.

"holding my breath for a whole month, if i held your breath at least we would touch"

Finally something the wolf was actually good for. At least it seemed like he wasn’t like the vampire. He actually wanted to care for Eden. Unfortunately the young prince didn’t want anyone caring for him— or at least he wanted to say that was the case. He didn’t want a companion, he didn’t want a friend, he either wanted out of this whole situation and away from everyone involved or he wanted to die. Dying would be ideal.

He let Ciro help him under the covers. He laid down, facing the wolf, looking towards him for the moment. Ciro looked nice, he seemed submissive, Eden wasn’t sure if he wanted to know how the wolf ended up as a servant for the crazy vampire heir. The brunette wolf… looked soft. Without thinking, Eden reached over to touch his head, lightly running his hand through the wolf’s hair.

Embarrassed when he realized he had just pet the other, he pulled his hand back and turned to face the other way, shutting his eyes tight. Maybe he’d be able to sleep for once. He grabbed the covers bringing them up over his shoulders and said nothing more to Ciro.

Oh thank whoever there was to thank that the pretty blonde knight hadn’t been too creeped out by Ezel’s slip up. He wasn’t great with his feelings, he just wanted to let everyone know how he felt regardless of how they felt about it. He was quick to like people, he was also quick to hate people. The vampire was easy to set off and at times it was actually a good trait to have, since he was so fast to read people he usually was on guard, his emotions made him passionate. He was a fantastic fighter when it mattered.

Kester. His knight’s name was Kester. Ezel gave a grin at the man. “Nice to meet ya~” Ezel said cheerfully. He didn’t get to escort pretty boys too often. He was happy— he didn’t want to eat the little human but maybe give him a few light nips already. He watched the knight grab his bag before giving a nod and answering him, “Ezel, my name is just Ezel.”

When Ezel was calm, when he wasn’t overly excited and was just giving the man a kind smile, he might look less psychotic, more cute and like the young vamp he was rather than a bloodthirsty creature. He lead the way towards the door of the tavern, waiting for Kester to follow. Perhaps he should ask why, what if this knight was leading him into some troubles? He glanced at Kester, looking thoughtful for a moment before changing his mind. He had never been in real trouble. “Do you have weapons you could kill a vamp with~?”

That had not been what the elder vampire was expecting. He was expecting perhaps what anyone else would who knew Raidon. And anyone else who knew the heir probably wouldn’t feel shame in what Maxi was about to do. He could stand up to Raidon, he didn’t doubt a fight between them would be a tough call but this was uncharacteristic and Max didn’t want to see what other uncharacteristic things Raidon was capable of.

Quickly, Max did as he was told. He didn’t want to be caught up in whatever other mess Raidon was about to make. He didn’t care who saw him run off after insulting the vampire heir. He would be surprised if anyone stuck around.

The elder vamp didn’t quite know where to head next, he stood in the hallway outside the room Raidon had settled in briefly, placing his head into his hands. This was a disaster. Raidon was a little diva, he wasn’t evil, there was no reason he should be acting this way. He figured he’d go check on the Prince and Ciro right now— he didn’t want Raidon heading back there. He’d stand outside, like a guard…

Getting comfortable, Ciro flicked his ears slightly at feeling the soft hand petting his hair and he let out a contented sigh because if there was one thing the wolf loved it was getting petted. A childish thing to like, he presumed, but it was just something that was nicely intimate and felt lovely to him. A pout crossed his lips when the young prince suddenly flushed and turned away, clearly embarrassed or upset with himself for doing something like that and Ciro could not understand why for the life of him. For a second he thought of moving closer to Eden to wrap him in a hug but got the impression that it would be best to wait. “Rest well, Eden,” Ciro said softly, reaching forward to just lightly brush his fingers though the others hair before gently retracting them.

The hours dwindled away gently and Ciro drifted in and out of sleep but always remaining close to Eden for when he would wake up to tell him not to panic and that Raidon was no coming back any time soon.

As the dawn started to approach though, the werewolf opened his eyes hazily to find his body shaking and shivering which was odd before he suddenly looked down and found Eden somehow curled around his torso as tightly as the human could manage. He must have been in a deep sleep because his eyes were closed and small words and whimpers were escaping from his lips. “Oh Eden,” Ciro said softly, pulling the other up just a little higher so that he could hug him better, “It’s okay, you’re safe. You’re just with me...it’s okay cubby, I won’t let him hurt you ever again.”

Part of Ciro’s mind questioned where this protective nature came from because he wasn’t known to really try to protect anyone, Maxi could hold his own and everyone else just disregarded him as a waste of space so he always thought of himself as an omega in the grand scheme of things but with Eden, he suddenly want to protect and make sure that the other was happy. Which was more of an beta or alpha trait.

Flicking his ears, Ciro carefully sat up, keeping Eden close and glanced towards the door, “Maxi, you can come in if you want. It’ll be daylight soon and I’m sure there’s a dark room you can sleep in.” He didn’t let go of Eden though and continued to pet him whilst he waited to see what the vampire would do. He felt bad for not saying hello before but he was more concerned with Eden right now.

~*~

Pausing in his steps, Kester’s eyes suddenly widened in surprise. In his haste to get to Eden had not thought about such things in the slightest. How was he supposed to enter vampire terriorty with nothing to kill a vampire with? Oh he was so under prepared for all of this but there again he didn’t actively want to cause an all out war with the vampires either so maybe it was for the best. Gently he shook his head towards the other, “No. I came here as quick as I could because I had a...” his words stuck in his throat for a second or two but then he figured that a vampire would probably come across stranger things on an daily basis, “vision or a feeling or something of a man I hold dear to me like a brother becoming extremely hurt and I could not leave him.”

Lightly biting his lip Kester thought that it may be a bit premptive but he figured that since Ezel was signed up he might as well give him the truth, “Ezel...the man I’m going after is Eden. The last vampire bride to come to the territories. If you want to back out now, then I understand.”

He couldn’t explain why but he thought that the young looking and quite cute vampire should at least know what he was getting himself into. He had seemed up for everything before but Kester had a sudden urge to tell Ezel exactly what he was planning to do when there was no prying ears around. There was no way that he wanted to put the other into danger but even he knew that this was going to be a dangerous situation and such a cutie shouldn’t be involved in it.

Though he suddenly blinked, did he really just think of the vampire as being cute?

~*~

Shaking his head as Maxi high tailed it out of the room, Raidon sighed and shook his head before picking up a glass of blood that looked like wine and took a long drag out of it. Suddenly his body convulsed and the next thing the vampire heir knew he was tumbling to the floor, clutching at his throat. The glass landed on the carpet and rolled away harmlessly whilst Raidon clutched desperately at his throat in an desperate attempt to breath but his vision grew darker with each passing second and then whited out completely.

Lying on the floor of his bedroom, the vampire heir remained still and unmoving for the time being as his body slowly recovered from the shock.

"holding my breath for a whole month, if i held your breath at least we would touch"

Upon hearing Ciro speaking to him, Maxi did make his way inside of the room. He hadn’t a clue where or what Raidon had been up to but he hadn’t come by here, hadn’t come to take any of that anger out of any of the three. It was confusing— Raidon had never been like this before, nothing he had ever done would gave Maxi any sign that he could be so cruel. He understood blood lust, he understood a lot… but this prince was going to be traumatized for life, hurt for life.

The elder vampire couldn’t help but frown at the sight he saw, Ciro holding onto the human tightly. “You shouldn’t do that, Ciro,” He warned, not in the strictest of tones because Maxi was not one to tell on anyone or to even care himself.

The vampire got a little close to the bed moving to sit on the edge of it for a moment and look at the human prince who didn’t look like he was having the easiest time sleeping. Ciro shouldn’t be holding him even if it was probably comforting for the little human. The werewolf did not want to get caught touching Raidon’s property, not when Raidon was like this.

Max let out a sigh, looking back to Ciro. “You shouldn’t be getting attached to that human,” It looked like it was far too late for this lecture— and the wolf hardly knew the prince. “You can’t save him— what do you expect to do? What if Raidon does come in here? I can only stall him for so long and do so much…” Maxi trailed off glancing around the room briefly not wanting to look at Ciro while he said these things. He didn’t want to hurt the wolf or the human but it was inevitable.

Hearing the new voice in the room, it was almost like Eden sensed a vampire presence in his sleep as he grabbed Ciro rather tightly. The wolf didn’t smell like the vampires, didn’t touch him like his vampire husband, he could tell he was still safe by just those senses. He didn’t want to look so pathetic and weak but truth be told, he was. He was pathetic and weak and while he wished the werewolf was more cruel and would actually just kill him, he was also glad to have the warmth, the comfort.

Eden wasn’t ready to get up. He was still so tired and in pain, but he could somewhat hear Max’s voice, his words. He remembered it was the servant who had first carried him out of Raidon’s room— the elder vampire who seemed rather reluctant to touch him.

Would Ciro get in trouble for this? Eden hoped not.

He kept his eyes closed, trying to focus his thoughts on something other than what had happened, what could happen. He focused on the warmth of the other and his hand through his hair. He relaxed a little, not grabbing on so tightly but keeping close.

Ezel let out a small sigh before giving the knight a weak smile. “You’re going after the vampire bride without something to kill ‘er vampire husband?” He knew the bride wasn’t actually a woman this time around, but it didn’t matter.

“You’re pretty to look at, knight, but you gotta use your brains sometimes as well,” Ezel stopped, moving to the side and opening the bag he had hung around his shoulder that landed at his side. It was pretty full of stuff, bottles which may or may not have blood stored inside, a few knives, a pouch of money and some papers with writing in some other language on them… and finally Ezel took out something wrapped up in cloth.

“I’ve had to kill my kind before,” Ezel said, his tone a lot more serious than before. He moved to open the cloth showing Kester a pretty well-used wooden stake. He could kill a vampire with his own hands now, but in the beginning he hadn’t been so strong, so worldly. He always had the stake. “Take it.” He offered it up to the blonde knight. It was a bit of a scary thing for the young vampire to do— Kester could turn around and stab him if he got upset but for some reason he doubted that would happen.

“If I die during this mission, you better keep that stake and think of me, if you die, well, I suppose I’ll take care of your human for you,” He was a bit teasing but Hell, if he was being paid for the job he’d finish it without the blonde knight if need be. Not that he would let anything happen to his pretty little blonde knight.

Gently Ciro continued to look down at his sleeping charge as he heard Maxi enter the room and move to sit on the bed. He could see that he was still in a high amount of distress and discomfort radiating off the human and the werewolf just couldn’t help but try to comfort him all the more. There was no reason for the human to be like this, to be so traumatised and frightened and worried beyond anything that the vampire heir was going to come back into the room at any given second and do more unspeakable things to him. Ciro couldn’t think of anything worse than that fear. Sure Raidon had the potential to be scary and unpredictable but he was a diva and a playful swine, never had he been like this. There again he had never really experienced fresh human blood either so maybe that had something to do with it?

Ciro shook his head, there was no point in trying to over think the situation right now. He had to look after Eden and make sure that he was happy even if it was just for a small amount of time. His ears flicked in surprise at hearing the words that were directed at him but did not initially respond as he felt the scared human grip onto him tighter. In response he gently passed his fingers through the semi soft locks and just lightly increased his grip on the other. Leaning down Ciro gently whispered, “It’s okay, I’m here. Just relax, it’s not him...it’s just Maxi,” the werewolf smiled, “He’s a good vampire and one that won’t hurt you.”

Turning to look at the other, the young cub blinked and felt his ears drop just ever so slightly the look of a kicked puppy crossing his features, “I can fight you know,” he said softly, though even he would admit that in comparison to some of the other werewolves who lived in and around the castle he was not the greatest fighter in the world but that didn’t mean that he couldn’t help out in some form or other. He wasn’t completely useless in that respect.

Twisting to curl around the other just a little, Ciro sighed, “How can you just leave him in the state he’s in? He’s only young and he’s lost and very much alone right now. I don’t care if Raidon beats me to a pulp or rips my throat out for this, what he’s done is wrong and he should not have hurt Eden like this.” Part of him knew that he sounded just a touch like a love sick puppy but there was nothing else that he could be right now, “I just want to show Eden that we’re not all insane and crazy. Even if I can’t stop what will happen I would rather at least attempt to do something than just simply stand by and let it happen.”

Ciro raised his eyes to Maxi, knowing that this was testing ground, “You took a chance on that human a few centuries ago, did you not? Aren’t I doing the exact same thing?”

Staring at the weapon as it was handed to him, Kester almost felt a strange feeling go through him. Of course he knew the basics, know how to kill a vampire even if he was an idiot that came without anything but it was strange to think that such a simple thing could destroy something so ancient and deadly. Gently he nodded towards the vampire, "Thank you...even though it is strange to be given such a deadly weapon by one of those it could potentially kill." Carefully wrapping the stake up in the cloth, Kester placed it in his sword belt so that he would have easy access to it should he require it. He smiled warmly towards the young vampire, "I left my horse with the barman here so we should set off soon if we are to make any ground yes?"

Soon there were only dark fields in front of them and just the faint twinkling of lights from the townstead that they had been in before. It was strange travelling in this darkness and Kester started to feel just a little on the uneasy side. Especially when every so often shrill howls would rage through the night and disturb the occassional bird. Of course the knight did not show any signs of concerns outwardly, though his discomfort was probably quite easy to smell for something that came from the supernatural world. There came the sound of a twig snapping behind them and Kester spun around, one hand going to his sword the other briefly catching hold of Ezel's.

A tiny fox blinked up at them from the treeline, it's eyes glowing in the moon and a dead rat hanging from it's jaw before it swiftly disappeared into the darkness and Kester let out a sigh, "I never knew that the vampire realm was so noisy." he resumed his pace, either failing to notice that he still just had hold of Ezel's hand or keeping it there for comfort or as a way to tell where the vampire was at this moment in time,.

"holding my breath for a whole month, if i held your breath at least we would touch"

Maxi knew to some extent Ciro was in the right— Eden didn’t deserve to be tortured and hurt by Raidon. He didn’t deserve anything that had happened even if he had been a little rude to the diva prince. Although that was how life was sometimes, Ciro needed to learn that. Many vampire brides had come through this castle and many of them ended up just as bad if not worse off than this little Prince Ciro was holding. As much as Maxi could admit Ciro had a point, the werewolf had to see Max’s side as well. This was just how life was.

Now if the werewolf had stopped talking, oh a minute or so ago, after the whole ‘not standing by and letting it happen’ bit, Maxi might have let this slide. Might have let the wolf keep holding the little human and trying to comfort him. Unfortunately for the young brunette, he hadn’t stopped. He had went on. Max was friends with Ciro— he cared about him, he would never hurt him if not necessary, but he wasn’t spoken to like how Ciro had just done so.

With a frown, the vampire shook his head. “What happened to that human, Ciro? Is he around anymore?” His tone was strict, clearly annoyed and obviously there was no need for an answer to his questions. “Let’s do the same to yours now, shall we?” Ciro should know better than to try and stop Maxi. Max was much older, much stronger, Ciro was just a young wolf, Max could pretty much do whatever he wanted to the being.

He leaned over Ciro, placing a hand on the wolf’s chest to keep him against the back of the bed as he moved to wake up the sleeping human with his other hand. Max was gentle with the human, he didn’t actually want to hurt the prince. He was simply separating him from Ciro— Ciro didn’t need Eden. The human was easily pushed off of Ciro and a mixture of fear and confusion consumed his expression.

“No…” Eden whined a little at the older vampire who quickly moved across Ciro and picked Eden up from him. Eden didn’t have the energy or the will to fight back, no, he just let it happen. Besides even if the vampire was taking him from Ciro, the werewolf had expressed this one— Maxi— was good, wasn’t going to hurt him.

But he could just take him back to Raidon which made Eden squirm a bit in Max’s hold. Although the vampire seemed to notice something wrong and was quick to reassure. “I’m not taking you back to Raidon, I’m just taking you away from the clingy puppy,” Max spoke in a quiet tone, taking Eden from the bed and shooting Ciro a warning look. If the werewolf chased after, tried to get Eden back, Max would backhand him so hard the floor might do as much damage when he hit it.

The vampire had simply given the knight a shrug at his comment. Humans give each other swords all the time and they killed one another with them! Ezel wasn’t quite sure he should really trust Kester but he wanted to. He wanted to trust the human. He seemed genuine, honest and he had agreed to hire Ezel. Ezel wasn’t doing the pretty human a favor. It was a deal they had made no matter how much Ezel might end up being a sweetie to the man anyways. Or at least, what he thought being a sweetie was.

He followed the man out, walking close by him as they headed away from the town and further into vampire territory. Now Ezel himself had heightened senses— he could tell if danger was around much sooner than Kester could, well he assumed. He could also tell his knight was a little on edge so he stayed quiet, composed for once as they traveled. Then something spooked the human.

Oh Ezel would comfort his knight, hold his hand and protect him forever and ever! The vampire tried his hardest not to make a big deal out of the fact the pretty blonde knight took his hand when he had thought there was danger and it was so very hard for Ezel to keep his cool. He didn’t want to let go however and flipping his s**t and grabbing the knight to hold him closer was definitely going to make Kester push the redhead away.

Ezel took a breath, held back a grin and instead let a small smile form on his lips. “You’ll get used to it— it isn’t all constant danger, Kester.” Oh was the little vampire so proud of himself for using the knight’s name instead of called him pretty or something.

Oh he knew that he had overstepped the boundaries with that comment but really what was wrong with what he was doing? It was one of the many problems with being an young werewolf, one that was barely out of being classed as a puppy and whilst in some areas he really was mature and advanced there were still plenty of times that his youth and innocence showed through. So it was no surprise when he got scolded by the other his ears dropped down drastically and he took on the look of a kicked puppy. “I didn’t mean it quite like that...I just...” he started to try and explain his reasoning’s when the elder spoke again.

Instantly there was a change in Ciro as he bristled up a little when Maxi said that he was going to do the same thing to Eden and it was only shock and surprise that stopped him from reacting there and then. He whined a little, actually sounding like a puppy, when the far older vampire placed his hand on his chest in order to keep him in place as he picked up the little human. Part of Ciro screamed at him to leap at the other vampire there and then, steal back Eden and just hold onto him but thankfully there was a somewhat rational part of his mind that actually opted to keep him still because taking on someone like Maxi was an insane idea.

Ciro couldn’t help but feel just a little on the pathetic side though, he was a werewolf for goodness sake and here he was submitting to someone who was the same rank as him. Though of course the problem was that he could easily overpower him without even trying. He lowered his eyes and felt like a complete fool though hearing the soft mumbling of the human and almost physically feeling the panic that was coming off him, something inside him snapped. It didn’t react violently or make itself known in a really dramatic way, it just sort of happened in an odd way.

The young werewolf got up off the bed and took a few steps towards Maxi, though just managing to keep a distance back that the vampire would have to stretch to hit him though Ciro wasn’t thinking if the other had any form of power of presence. He did not want to leave Eden and break his promise to the young man but he didn’t want to potentially p*** off the vampire either. So he would hang back as much as possible and then just curl up in the doorway or the door of wherever Maxi took Eden so that the other would know that he was there and could call for him should he need to do so. Maxi wouldn’t hurt the other that much he knew but he wasn’t going to leave the human without a bit of a fight.

“If you want me Eden,” he said, stopping to let the vampire get ahead of him, “Call and I’ll be there.”

Highly relieved for the fact that Ezel wasn’t going to completely call him a wuzz or an idiot for getting spooked by a simple fox which was something that a knight shouldn’t even think of in the slightest, Kester smiled a little before stepping away and trying to unhitch his hand from the others. How was he supposed to remain looking like a big and strong knight if he was acting like a frightened school girl over the most simplest of things. He sighed a little, “I guess I’ll just have to get used to it all then. It’s funny to think that I spent all of those years trying to prepare Eden for coming to his place and I never really looked into it in any great detail. I mean I know what the castle is supposed to be like but I’ve no idea of the land surrounding it or what is actually here.”

Shaking his head so that his hair bounced back and forth a little, Kester sighed and tugged his hand out of the others grip with a thankful nod because he didn’t want to appear to be too rude to the other. It wasn’t that he was fearful of intimate contact it was just that he didn’t have too much experience with it and the knight couldn’t decide if it felt nice or strange to him.

Casting his dark eyes up to the sky, he sighed at seeing the gently lightening of the sky which suggested that dawn wasn’t far away, “Though I think we should find somewhere to bunk down for the day...that is if the stories about vampires and sunlight are true of course?” Now that he thought about it, Kester realised that he didn’t actually know too much about vampires other than the fact that they needed blood to survive. He had the ‘knowledge’ of the age old stories but no actual confirmation that they were true or not. Actually if Ezel was up for it, he would ask him a whole bunch of questions about the vampire realm just to be a bit more prepared.
